We are very excited to announce the alpha of Paranoid Android Sapphire, based on Android 12.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.
Notice
As we are growing on our list of supported devices in each release, we require of a stronger build environment so we can speed up the compilation process for releases. Based on the actual Quartz 4 list, we support over 30 devices, which takes between 2 and 3 days for all the builds to be completed without counting possible compilation issues or rebuild needs, based on our current specs.
We kindly ask all of you that are in position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

Device-specific issues
[*] WFD
[*] Display might flash sometimes while unlocking with fingerprint
There are likely many other issues, these are just the most prominent to me. Don't come into this with the expectation any issue you come across will be fixed in a timely manner.
Requirements
Make sure you are coming from any Android 11 based OxygenOS build, stable is recommended.
Downloads
You can always get our Alpha builds from our Telegram Releases Channel (requires registration on telegram) or directly download them from here: OnePlus 7T Pro Download
Note: Custom kernels are not supported unless the kernel says it supports PA and GMS is included!
Instructions
[1] Download the latest fastboot zip we released (hint: it has an -image appended to zip name)
[2] Reboot to bootloader.
[3] Flash the fastboot zip with "fastboot update aospa-*-image.zip"
[4] Reboot into recovery after it is done flashing & wipe userdata.
Starting with Alpha 1, you must clean flash due to recent commits related to userdata.
If you already flashed Alpha 1 and want to update, then you can just sideload the OTA in recovery if it is available, although there might be only fastboot images up for the latest version so keep that in mind.

how is it on 7tp? i will be installing soon
No DC dimming from what I can see, couldn't find an "Abstruct" app either. Pretty sure I installed correctly, everything else worked just fine.
I know that it recommends coming from a stable build but would upgrading from the latest OOS11 beta be that risky?
I like this rom but i am unable to add my fp
Any screenshots?
This is the best rom I've ever tried in terms of performance and smoothness, nothing is like it, I noticed a weird bug when charging it with a 60W charger it doesn't accept it and start acting weird, other than this problem and the ones mentioned in the post everything works perfectly fine.
for an alpha build this ROM is super stable. WOW absolute top notch
Do this builds include GApps? Thanks

This FP thing seems to be affecting all A12 Roms...
Is this compatable with the 7T Pro McLaren 5G?
Edit: This is not compatible with the McLaren edition
I've taken the maintenance from Rituj for now, and released an update. If you're coming from Rituj's build, you may need to clean flash due to different signing keys. I can not edit his post, however. I'm not sure where Rituj's last build was at, so I can just give the changelogs from my 7T and 7P builds
device changelog:
- fod should be completely fine now
- rom and kernel are now compiled with sdclang instead of aosp clang
- flashing custom kernels should work now (though still unsupported)
- better auto brightness behavior
gdrive download: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gNqNvZ8w4a5O5hQ6L_XAvoYP-FVbeOTG
updated flash instruction:
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (included in the gdrive folder)
- fastboot reboot recovery
- enter adb sideload in recovery, and run "adb sideload *rom.zip*
essentially the same instructions for the OP7T
how do you flash the update? fastboot update *.zip produces an error :
archive does not contain android-info.txt
fastboot: error: could not read android-info.txt

I usually use payload dumper and just flash each .img individually, never get any errors with that method.
I'll attach the script I use so you don't have to manually flash all the .img files.

There's a recovery in the Google Drive folder.
`fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot recovery`
enter adb sideload and run adb sideload *zip*
Love the ROM so far, glad to have Paranoid again.
Do you have any way to provide logs without root? (Some ROMs have log viewers like Matlog pre-installed.)
Feedback
The good stuff:
Cudos on fingerprint sensor (working like a charm, had massive problems on other ROMs)
Responsive system
90Hz working as intended (unlike stock)
Almost no crashes (only one crash to Crashdump mode)
Following issues I encountered since installing it few days ago:
No radio working on first boot (wifi and mobile functionally after rebooting from within setup)
Sometimes dark-gray areas are displayed pitch black (resolvable usually by turning screen on/off)
Sometimes "black crush" effect like on stock (areas with blueish, greenish, reddish fragments in darker areas) maybe low panel hardware quality?
Rare "System-UI not responding" error (with no impact on system usability)
DT2W feature sometimes not reacting on first, sometimes n-th try
Pocket mode has an issue where the screen stays black, when it was turned on manually via power button or DT2W
Massive stuttering when playing TTS examples (Assistant not impacted)
Google assistant gesture from edge leaves white "Google"-circle on screen for too long
Call screening issue: caller voice is not being recognized (don't know if this is a system issue or an application issue)
Display auto brightness issue: under certain circumstances the screen brightness alternates between normal and too dark every few seconds continuously
Back gesture unreliable (sometimes recognized as vertical scrolling, most of the time not recognized at all)

Hi Dev,
I found several issue with this build:
1. The system UI always stop working everytime I tried to add another google account.
2. Display cutout "hide" option didn't work correctly, and i think it would be great if you add curve corner as well as in another working custom rom such as havoc 2.9
3. There is some kind a black bar appear everytime the notification bar being expanded and everytime the app drawer being opened.
Hope this issue will be fix anytime soon, than i guess this build will be perfect, overall i im very glad to use this ROM, ive been using this rom for about to weeks and im really happy with the experience..
All the screenshot attached.
Thank you.

Okay, i works now, thanks for the response.
Thank you very much for adapting to mi 8 pro, the system is very smooth, but there are a few problems that I hope to be fixed, thank you.
1.Settings -> Display -> Styles and Wallpapers -> Customize the styles and then click on the styles and wallpapers to click on fc.
2. Settings -> Display -> Brightness Click to meet fc.
3. The full screen gestures sometimes get stuck when swiping up, and it will be normal after swiping a few more times
Can you add a new feature?
1. The battery level in the status bar can be displayed in the battery (hopefully a circular battery icon), the current system is turned on and the other icons are not displayed.
2. Hope to increase the network speed display in the status bar
Thanks again!

Hello everyone, I present my experience with this rom on a Xiaomi Mi 8 PRO:
Everything that has to work works and also in a fluid way but there are small details to be polished:
- Gestures with the screen off as the double tap to wake up does not work.
- It is not possible to completely turn off the screen while charging, it gives me the feeling that the light / proximity sensors are not working correctly.
- Sometimes the fingerprint unlocking does not allow the password to be entered (it is superimposed on the keyboard).
At the moment and with 48 hours of use this is what I have detected.
Considering that it is a Beta version very happy with the operation. Android Auto Wireless which is the reason why I have installed this rom works perfectly.
Greetings and thanks to the Paranoid team for the work done!

Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. That is correct. Worked out great for me.
Thanks, I'm happy for test.
Please make a vanilla version without google play store. Roms without google play get twice or more attention. Google playstore sucks! I also feel paranoid android should have a vanilla version just by the name, lol.

Someone else had the "asks for rear sensor" issue but it works for most other people, so I don't know if this is something I have to investigate or if it's something on your side

I'd have to factory reset and try registering fingerprint again. Upon trying to set up fingerprint unlock, it asks for rear fingerprint sensor. Usually the icon appears on screen to capture your fingerprint. In my case, it was asking for rear fingerprint sensor. *update I just flashed the rom again, factory reset in recovery, skipped logging into google account and still face the fingerprint issue asking me to use rear sensor as in my earlier screenshot. Not a deal breaker for me.
That's messed up

I flashed the rom again using the installation steps, I even skipped logging into my google account and still faced the fingerprint issue of asking me to use rear sensor. No biggie if I can't use the fingerprint unlock.

+1 have the same bugs. But boii oh boii this Rom is really smooth.
Does it come with Gapps already included? From the file size, it seems this way.
If so, is there a vanilla build without Gapps?

It seems to be official but in beta. The OP says "FW 12.5.x or later" so 12.5.5 seems to be okay but you could also update MIUI, or just the firmware if you trust https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/alioth/

There isn't an option to flash anyways the zip in this recovery, so it's necessary to patch boot.img which I have extracted from the fastboot zip.
