Hello just ordered the pro 9 wanted to know if there is a working volume boost hack or is there a working viper mod for the pro 9. Coming from a pro 7 had volume boost and viper would like to get it on pro 9. Thanks in advance.

This guy is exactly right. Viper works wonderfully to increase the volume. But viper can only go so far. This app will increase the volume as much as your speakers will allow. But I wouldn't suggest going to high on it as you can actually blow your speakers out. It's called volume booster by goodev, and it's the absolute best volume booster I've ever tried across any Android version.

Coming from an iPhone, the speaker volume on my Galaxy Nexus is absolutely pathetic. I'm a big speaker phone user and I could barely even hear the person on the other end unless I'm in a completely silent room. Is there any way to increase the volume [dramatically]?

Appreciate the help but says it only works on Gingerbread and says it doesn't work on stock ROMS.
Just install it, it works...
Edit: ah its about the speaker phone, then you'll need root.

For the full version of volume+ go to the developer's website http://www.androidaudiohacks.com/ he has the full version and a beta the he is working on for the galaxy nexus
i find equalizer a much better solution.
just install equalizer from the market (or volume +, but i dont like this one as much). the speaker volume will easily double. once you install it, increase each frequency to max, then just close the app. volume is now good to go.
There is more than one equalizer on the market. Which one is the good one?

I find they are both equally worthless. They increase the volume of your device, but they ruin the sound quality. I find the volume to still be unacceptably low even using these apps.

i thought volume + ruined the sound quality when getting to an acceptable level of volume. maxed out equalizer and it's great now. not atrix great, but good enough.
DSP manager is better than volume +, theres a thread with a flashable version which is optimized for ICS. Amazing results

The one by smart android apps is the good one, it hooks into the system audio api.and cranks it up. Just raise each freq.

Does this version of Volume+ stay "active" in the system. I had problems with previous versions of Volume+ and Equalizer not working unless I went and opened it everytime.
I just tried the DSPManager in comparison with Equalizer.
(EDIT) It works fine but Equalizer will go higher to the point of distortion if all the sliders are pushed maxed. Edit The lower two sliders maxed out will go to distortion maxed. I have all about 90% and she is loud as my old OG DROID.
Equalizer All the way. Play a known strong music file while adjusting or comparing apps.
Another Edit On my GN equalizer has to be started just once when the phone boots. I just go to the app and hit it. I am going to see if the Dev will make it start on boot. Other then that its the loudest one I have used.
DSPMngr maxed out does not distort and is just a teeny weeny bit lower.
Going back to Equalizer.
About having to enable it every time (EDIT) I was wrong, this app does not auto run after a boot. You have to tap it only once though.

There is a free Volume Plus app you have to go to the developers web site to get it. Read the description for the app on the play store and it will tell you where to go.......
Alternative is equalizer by smart apps. Custom eq Max each freq. Does that break it? Its an alternative.

will try but does it increase (like volume+) the overall external speaker volume?
Without volume+ set to 15 my sms/msg/alarm notifications are way too low
Aham http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500579
One question I've always had is if there's anything that just adjusts the external speaker's sound only. I know the go to solution has always been Volume+ or Music Volume EQ, but both affect sound globally, or in volume+ case starts to distort sound every time you change from BT to headphones or external speaker. All I want to do is make ringtones and notifications louder, everything else is fine.

esssssssss maybe a volume+ lite
Boom laka laka laka, boom laka laka laka! Sorry, I don't know what came over me.
So, as title says. Anyone know of one that works on non-rooted ONE X?
Yes for the speaker, since I find it so low. I want to increase it for music and games.
I dont plan on rooting or modding my phone. Hopefully theres something out there.
without root i'm using "Music Volume EQ" it's free and you can find it on play store.
it's good for volume but quality becomes worse
Be carefull, if the sound is limited there is a reason:
- for your ears
- they can degrade speaker performance over the time

I tried many sound mods like V4A, Dolby Atmos, Xtrememusic....but none increase really the 3.5mm output volume.
You can get more loudness thanks to V4A+Dolby but still you feel there are 20 even 30% missing volume.
Usually with V4A I boost the db in the end from 0 (normal) to +6db and playback gain control to the max on an HTC it used to boost the volume about +30% which was enormous (never used in real life only for testing), but on the G4 and whatever the kernel I used, these +30% are only there at low to mid volume steps (G4's stock volume steps), once you are at step 7 over 10 it will have the exact same volume as 10 over 10, meaning no gain at all. It will just use the max stock volume on lower volume steps :crying:
It looks like the G4's hardware or snapdragon is limiting the max 3.5mm volume.
I tested with my Sony SBH50 BT and HTC CAR Stereoclip BT modules and the volume gain is about 20% over the max volume (meaning 120%) so V4A and other mods can bypass the max volume on a connected BT from the G4 but not the G4's own 3.5mm output
Do you know any ways to bypass this limitation?
I tried Jetaudio and other apps using Gain option but the sound is bad once +1db over normal

Yep this horror .Bad point for g4.
On G3 exixst one good app but not working on G4 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.laransoft.volumeG3
Only tiny solution:Flash faux sound supported kernel and install faux app. This app help raise vol minimal.
Sorry for my bad english.

In just tried the Fauxsound as my kernel is Superex, and yes it's better than V4A, at least we clearly gain volume with it, I set it at +2 or +3db because more than that the sound quality is deteriorating.
I even disabled V4A as it was doing some parasites once Fauxsound is boosted.
So I think I can say no for a Fiio E6, I wanted this small boost for the incoming ski days

Wow I found my old good Cowon J3, the volume is way louder than G4, it will be my sports music device instead of G4, the only thing is that BT is only 2.0 so I will only used with wired earphones, and if someone calls me on the G4 I won't know

I really don't understand all your doubts about VA4 and volume sound...
I've installed in several phones and with a good profile effect, the sound is fantastic and I only can listen to music with the volume at 25/30%.
If kernel support audio you also increase sound loundeness wit faux app or simple kernel teak tool like kernel adiutor, sypnase or trickster.

Only Faux app is working with actual G4 kernels.
I tried the new Beats port http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-htc-beats-audio-beats-xperience-t3281603 and it's pretty good, at last it gives some warmth to the bass
I am on genysis 3.5 with the superxe kernel and v4a definitely works. I would suggest looking at the driver status in v4a and verify that it is set up properly.
If you try v4a again, you might be interested in the convolver Dolby pro logic 2 IRS profile. I think that would give you the volume boost you are looking for.

False.
Following the exact tutorial I posted there is a *very* real difference in max volume when editing the mixer paths. I've repeated it many times on my 5.1 H812 from stock.
The unfortunate problem is the distortion that comes with upping it too much, so the gain is noticeable but you're not able to boost it too high. It's very limited by the hardware. My S3 still sounds a lot better, and it goes louder... bah.

Boy, I sure wish this were an option for the H811 variant. I can't find any kernel that supports fauxsound. This low gain output kills me. I used to have a V10 with the same chipset and that thing would go incredibly loud. This is so disappointing.
