I just got my Poco F3 6/128 a few days ago and I was thinking about rooting it, but will I lose the ability to use banking apps, NFC payments, Widevine L1, OTA updates, etc? Running latest MIUI Global 12.5.6.0 Stable.

I don't use banking apps on my Poco F3 but I can tell you right now safety net is passing on EU rom which is basically like stock Chinese rom but with extras. I can also tell you topjohnwu that guy that makes magisk is now working for Google and his latest version is without magisk hide because it's a conflict of interest. So it's not going to stay but at anytime you can wipe your phone, flash stock and even relock bootloader if you want to. So whatever you decide it's not permanent. I personally always want root access so I don't care about safety net I'm still going to root. Also this phone is extremely difficult to flash roms on. I've only done 2 roms but I had to wipe phone and flash stock because the update zip screwed up the phone.
Flashing a stock ROM and locking the bootloader restores everything even if I lose Widevine L1?

If you want to root you should be a risk-taker because there is a 90% chance of losing something in your phone.
I have stock EEA ROM rooted and all my banking apps, GPay, Netflix work fine. The latest update didn't want to update with the smaller delta update. But MIUI offered to download a bigger package (full rom), which installed fine. Had to re-root after the update, but this is normal.

Automated firmware updates may not be working.

Hi!
My Fold will get delivered next week. Can't wait! Anyhow, I would like to install Magisk, v4a, and so on..
I don't see any Twrp available yet. Does someone know if there is any version on Chinese sites? If not, is there any on the way?
Has anyone flashed Magisk? Patched boot image method? Other method?
Is there any EU/Global rom for the Fold? Xiaomi.Eu won't support the Fold, which is sad. Is there any other?

Hi too answer your question yes theres no twrp available but flashed magisk patched works great having it work with safetynet passed having to be able to used gpay/ banking apps too and no eu roms with it.
with that said, For safetynet passed u gotta flash the universal safetynet fix by kdragon v1.2 + used the magiskhide props and with that used it on mi 10 ultra china and you will be fine. iam on latest version of it now which is now 12.0.19.

So to update, we don't use OTA, we need to use Magisk to keep the root?
I requested TWRP in the chines community, I got some feedback that I must pay in order to get it

The procedure is that you download the update through ota as per normal but after update don't restart, go to magisk and press the ota button whereby it will flash magisk on slot b thereafter then you can restart

I am sorry in advance, I am new to it and there is too much information for me. So, I want to get poco f3, but I can find global version of it. So I am thinking of installing miui.eu as far as I understand it works better. So my problem about safetynet - I need my banking apps and so on. As far as I understand, I need to unlock my bootloader, and by doing so, I automatically won't pass safetynet even if I won't install miui.eu (or any other) at all. Is there is a way, to be able to use miui.eu, banking apps and not to tweak with magisk?
xiaomi.eu pass safetynet out of the box...so, no need to root ur phone to use bank apps.

So unlocking bootloader does not strip you from safetynet? I am kind of confused. Is xiaomi.eu like other roms like lineage os or its kinda official. Sorry for dumb questions
Is there any other popular roms that can pass safetynet without magisk?

Xiaomi.eu is a custom ROM based on official MIUI. If u install this ROM, safetynet pass out of the box.

Unlocking your bootloader, installing a custom recovery (mainly TWRP) and flashing MIUI.eu rom will not affect PlayStore and SafetyNet Attestation API.
Rooting your device (or more commonly known as installing Magisk) will cause it. There is a workaround called MagiskHide, but if there's nothing really important you needed to root I would say just flashing the MIUI.eu rom is way more than enough.

Any roms that does not come preinstalled with Magisk should have no issues with SafetyNet API.
And according to XiaoMi.eu website they are collaborating together with the XiaoMi official developers so your warranty is not voided.
hey guys,
since i successfully flashed my Mi Pad 5 from CN to Global Rom a new problem occured.
I lost the google play protect status and cant install apps like netflix via the playstore. manual way with apk download works fine.
is there any possibility to get the google play protect status again?
tried different methods from google instructions but they didnt work.
my bootloader is still unlocked - is this the problem? its not rooted
thx
Hi,
I had the same problem and I learned that it's a problem you have to live with if you wanna use the global ROM.
Google Play certification and Netflix DRM require the bootloader to be locked BUT if you the bootloader is locked, the global ROM won't boot on a China device.
BE CAREFUL! If you unlink your Mi account and lock the bootloader while using the global ROM, you won't be able to unlock the bootloader easily, essentially bricking the device.
In my case, I went back to the China ROM since I bought the tablet mainly to watch Netflix.
It's true some features are missing on the Chinese ROM (like Google Assistant) and I still have some Chinese text in "Search" but Netflix works perfectly and I use my phone as my daily driver so I don't really need the missing features on Xiaomi Pad 5.
My suggestion is to flash back to China ROM and stay with it. Make sure you still have your Mi account linked to the device to avoid any bricking.

May 19, 2022:
OnePlus is starting rolllout of a new system update for the OnePlus 9 series. It comes with version C.60 and measures over 1.5GB.
The latest OTA brings a couple of multitasking improvements and adds some connectivity and gaming features. However, the May security patch is still not available for the phones. You can read the full changelog below.
Convenience & efficiency
You can now open up to 3 apps in floating windows at the same time in Split-screen mode and switch between Floating window and Split screen modes
You can now use the Clock app in Quick Return
Connectivity
You can now open up to 3 phone windows on your PC
Games
Adds the HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer
Heterogenous graphics: Reduces gaming loads and power consumption (only for some games)
As always, this OTA will be incremental. It will reach a small percentage of users initially. A broader rollout should start in a few days.
To check if an update is available, head to Settings > System > System updates on your device.

India only. Miss the days when OnePlus would release one global rom or atleast global and India the same day.
It showed as a full rom over here, so you can jump directly from 11 to c60 and no need to go to 47 anymore.

I wonder if I flash the india C.60 ROM on my EU L2123 will it transform my device into an indian variant, or will it stay EU L2123 ?
My EU unit LE2123, i flashed the Global C48, no issues there. Yesterday when i flashed the Indian C60 the device is no longer certified under - Google PlayStore. Hence can't setup new cards. Cleared the Google Play services and playstore cache and data, rebooted the device but the issue still exists.
Any solution?

There is no workaround for that unless you Root your device and add the universal safety net magisk module and hide root afterward in Zygisk from play services and playstore.

thanks for your response, i'll wait for the next full OTA zip for either of the regions and then flash it. I don't wana root my device as its my primary driver.
Still no update other than in India for almost 2 weeks now. OnePlus really seems to only care about India now. All of their phones seen to have this issue now.
Anyone running this on a global 9 or 9 Pro unit? I flashed it and had to use the TMO COS/OOS data retention fix since it thought my device was dual SIM but I lost 5G and WiFi calling on T-Mobile in the process. Just curious if anyone was able to get these things working before I go through the arduous task of a factory reset. If not, I can live without them for now.
Edit: Cannot pass SafetyNet either. I have tried universal SafetyNet fix, I have tried Shamiko, and I have tried props config. I have only ever had to use the universal fix before so no idea why I can't pass the CTS Profile.

Xiaomi.eu ROM for 12 Turbo / Poco F5 with root is great, because one can install among others ad-block apps such as AdAway and block all ads in apps (Youtube excluded). I rooted xiaomi.eu (via magisk and "boot.img") couple of days ago and it's working great. You're right, when you wouldn't recommend rooting via TWRP and flashing magisk.zip for the reasons you mentioned in post #4 above.
Have any of you tried installing viper4android magisk?
A lot of devices are being unable to install the old viper 4 android. I know there's a 64bit version now that usually works on devices that can't install the other one. It doesn't have all of the features it's missing headphones surround sound and gain increase. Which are the two best features of the whole vipers situation. So I want to purchase a Poco F5 or F5 pro. So I am wondering if viper is working?
You'll probably have to install magisk delta canary latest build because the new magisk v26.1 won't work with viper now either. It will work if you Install viper with magisk delta and then switch to magisk official v26.1.
Normally what you do is you install the busy box module, The James DSP 4.6 module, Selinux permissive module, audio modifications library 4.2 module and the viper for Android module finally. You don't have to use the James DSP but sometimes it corrects problems in the system to get viper to work. I'm not sure how much you guys are aware so I am trying to cover everything.
Pixel 6, 7 pro it won't work on. My tab S8 plus, S22 and S23 ultra it won't work on. Pixel 7 pro with AOSP roms make it work when those are available.
