Hi all, I have Pixel 6 Pro and Spigen case on it and it wold not charge on my wireless charging stand (I was using for 3 years with my Pixel 3 XL and it would charge with bank card and screen protector on top of it... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07D4M19X9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Now, I have tried 3 different phone cases on Pixel 6 Pro and it would not charge with any of them. Pixel 3 XL does charge with those cases on (does not fit the phone but it's not a case issue). Does anyone have similar wireless charger on Pixel 6 Pro to test it?
This what I have does charge and on max distance about 1.5mm and nothing between phone and charger.

My Pixel XL would change with older USB ports and my portable battery. It would show that it was slow charging but it would charge.
The Pixel 2 XL shows a charging icon (nothing about being slow) but it will not charge the battery. Hours later the battery percentage actually goes down a little.
Only charging from the wall seems to work.
seeing this with chargers that are 1A and lower - haven't tested between 1A and 2A yet
3A and above (stock charger) is fine

Well I’m testing it out with two Pixel 2 XLs this morning because of staining issue on the first one and the dead touch edge this which I guess will be fixed in an update but they sent me a new one anyway.
So:
The new Pixel 2 XL has less stain marks on the white back.
The screen still turns blue as I ever so slightly tilt it but screen is whiter when dead on as the old one is a little peach-ish. That is with both screens at the same brightness and with the same color profile.
The new Pixel 2 XL is also charging with the same portable Duracell charger that the old one can’t use. Even over night with the charging icon on the old Pixel 2 XL would not charge and the Duracell charger would still showed full like nothing happened.
I’d just get my money back if they did not have my (in perfect condition) Pixel XL for trade in that they still have not processed yet and I can’t wait to see if I’m one of the ones they try rob by saying it was not reset or not as described etc.
Got this from good old off-shore support.
Furthermore, please note that it's recommended to use the original charger that was supplied with the phone for best results. Also, the 3rd party chargers may cause damages to your device.
The USB cables and chargers seem ok. They all work with my Nexus and Pixel XL and they work with the replacement Pixel 2 XL. I was just wondering if that was yet another known issue?
I’ll be sending the older Pixel 2 XL back as soon as I move everything over to the new one. While they both have poor touch sensitivity at the edge of the screen at least the new one will charge from low amp USB ports. As Google has my old Pixel XL I don’t have an option.
Will the poor touch response at the edges be fixed in firmware? Some on-line are saying it will be but I just got the 8.1 update and its still hard to use keys and buttons at the very edge of the screen.
I kinda wish I could just get my old Pixel (1) XL back. Google and LG really let us down this time.
I noticed this when I tried to charge my Pixel 2XL in my car using a micro USB to C adapter, which worked fine with my Nexus 6P. However, using a USB C to A works fine. Doesn't charge quite as fast as using original, but it's pretty good. Same with my portable charger. Luckily I won't have to use it often, but now I know I can, without having to buy a new charger.
can we get this to XDA or AP so this can be investigated properly?
if we can't use any old portable battery chargers or plug into our auto via USB and charge this is a serious issue
I have tried three different wireless charge receivers with my Pixel 2 XL. I get the same issue with each of them.. when trying to charge, the battery indicator drops, not raises. My charger indicates that it is charging, the phone shows charging, but it is draining the battery.
Any thoughts? Has anyone successfully added this functionality to the Pixel 2 XL?

The Pixel doesn't support wireless charging natively. You'd need a new case like a Mophie to do it.
That is why I bought a wireless receiver. Same one I used on my V20. Which worked fine. It provides a charge current to the USB C plug.

Hey,
I have the older version of the iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless Qi Standard Car Mount Charger that I used to charge my Nexus 6 with. I had no luck charging my Pixel 3 XL. I tried various micro usb cords and three different adequate car chargers. Could anyone confirm that this particular wireless mount doesn't supply enough power to charge the Pixel 3 XL?
I will also try an iPhone XS max in a few hours and report if that can charge via this mount.
Thanks :good:
Not sure if it's much help because you've almost certainly already tried but my note 8 wouldn't charge on the thing unless I adjusted the feet exactly right so it was sweet spot to sweet spot when I popped it in;even a small misalignment meant no charging. The 3 XL isn't here yet to test. One other thing, it was charging very slowly there, I'm doubtful it would have kept up while running maps and that kind of thing.

Yeah I tried adjusting it for maybe ten minutes on both my Pixel 3 XL and iPhone S Max without either charging at all..
Sorry man, not good news for me either because I'll likely see the same result.
Hi team,
If you saw my other thread you'll know that I've not been impressed with the wireless charging speeds the Pixel 6 Pro gets. They advertise a maximum of 12W charging with compatible Qi stands and 23W with their (new, unreleased) wireless charger.
Tl;dr: most wireless chargers won't charge the Pixel 6 Pro at anywhere close to the maximum for any sustained period of time. Even Google's own Pixel Stand (last gen) has issues pushing the full 12W predictably. In comparison, both S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Mini could consistently pull their respective maximums and were only limited by the maximum advertised rates of the phone/charger manufacturers.
I've since done some experimenting and actual measurements. For each of these measurements, I've ruled out cable/power brick issues by
using the included cable & power brick wherever possible
reproducing the measurement with multiple, high-quality cables
reproducing the measurement with multiple, OEM or otherwise high-quality power bricks
I've also reproduced the measurements with and without cases, and at various battery levels (e.g. <50% charge, etc).
I've also compared what other phones were able to get from these respective chargers, e.g. Samsung S21 Ultra, and iPhone 13 Mini, just to confirm that they were able to pull the expected power from the same chargers. In all cases, for all chargers, the S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Mini pulled the expected maximum charge rates given whatever the charger could push (and Apple's own restriction of 11W for non-Apple-approved chargers).
Please note, all measurements are approximate since the meters I have are pretty affordable and not high-precision, but they still give a fair idea of what is possible in the real world. Please also note that you should not generally expect peak charge rates when the battery is at 90% charge. Here are my findings for the Pixel 6 Pro's actual wireless charging experience:
Charger make/modelTypical charge rangeMaximum charge (observed)Maximum charge (advertised)Case sensitivityNotesGoogle Pixel Stand4.5W - 12W13W11WMediumThe lip is really small, so it's easy to knock the phone off of this stand, especially if you have a case. But it does seem to get the best, most consistent speeds. If you use a case, you may find it complaining about alignment randomly.Samsung 15W stand (EP-N5200)3.6W - 5.5W6.4W15WNoneFluctuates a lot; slow to ramp up. Coil does not seem to align perfectly but the phone doesn't complain.Moshi Sette Q4.5W - 12W*15W*15W on both coils simultaneously (allegedly LOL)High (hard to align with case, left coil doesn't work at all in many cases)* These measurements are from the right coil. The left coil simply did not start charging most of the time, and was especially fussy about cases. The right coil worked a lot better with and without cases. If you buy this charger you should immediately test the left coil for functionality.Samsung 9W Trio charger4.5W - 5.5W5.5W9WLow (better with case)The main coils on the Trio charger advertise 9W each simultaneous. Without a case on, the Pixel slowly slips off the charger and out of alignment.
I think the numbers speak for themselves, but you can imagine I'm pretty disappointed in these results. I'd love to find out if anyone's getting a better, more consistent experience with wireless charging on their Pixel 6 Pro, and if so, what charger/case they are using. In short, in terms of wireless charging compatibility and experience, the Pixel 6 Pro is a big step backwards compared to the S21 Ultra.
I have the Samsung Trio and Duo chargers, they are awesome for my old S20 and Watch. But yeah it blows for the Pixel 6 Pro. I also have Pixel Stands, it seems like it doesn't charge as fast as Samsung phones though.
Over the last two weeks I've gone down a rabbit hole trying out different Qi chargers and am also very disappointed in what I have seen so far. I've specifically tried to go for ones that say they can do 15w Extended Profile on the wirelesspowerconsortium website. So far I've tried:
Pixel Stand
Spigen Arcfield 15W
Insignia 15w Pad
Mophie Snap+ (magnetic magsafe like one)
ForCharge Slim Wireless Charger 15w
In each case I've used the same Ravpower 61w GaN brick as the source and while they all initially seem to charge pretty fast at roughly the expected 10-11w, they ALL drop to half that (or below) after a relatively short period of charging.
I've tried this with both the Moment case (which has faux magsafe) as well as naked but the results are pretty similar. The charging is great for maybe 10 minutes then just becomes horrible, it can barely keep up when im driving and its on the mophie snap+ charger.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. On the one hand I'm glad I'm not alone in having this issue but it's disheartening to hear that the charging on this phone (wired AND wireless) is such a PITA. On wonders wtf is the real problem? Like, why does this specific phone have so many issues? Is it the custom silicon (Tensor) that just doesn't offer the same level of capabilities as the last Snapdragon? I'm worried that issues like this help explain why Google didn't release the new Pixel Stand at the same time as the phone.
I mean, can you put the phone on one of these wireless chargers and expect it to be full overnight? Generally, yes--as long as the charger agrees with the case or otherwise is grippy enough to work without a case on the phone. But if you are used to the charging speeds of the S21, or just generally maxing out Qi charging speeds which good Qi chargers, then you're in for a disappointment--at least until the new Pixel Stand comes out, whenever that might happen.
Meanwhile: my girl's iPhone 13 Mini charges at the full 15W as soon as you drop it on the Apple MagSafe charger. And it stays there consistently. Last night I charged her phone from 35% to 100% in <2 hours using that MagSafe charger.

That's an extremely slow charger.
Input:5V/1.8A Type-C port
Output:5V/1.5A Type-C port
turtle slow charging!
I'm guessing it could work in an emergency, but this is garbage. That's barely faster than an OG iPhone power brick.
Under heavy load, you'd probably drain the battery faster than it can be sustained by the battery pack.
I have and use it every day and it works perfectly fine, doesn't charge slow, so not sure why all the hate.
I'm just waiting for one that I can use the connector for data on. Zerolemon's usually enable data usage over the battery's charger port.
