Until yesterday I was able to access to the forum using Firefox; since today I am greeted with a web page which say:

I am currently using Google Chrome which isn't blocked.
I tried to clear chache and cookies in Firefox, but I am still blocked.
Can an Admin unblock me?
@Mister_Dave I'm always using Firefox but don't have such an issue gratefully.
@MikeChannon @the_scotsman
Gentlemen. any idea how to help our member?
Ive referred this to a different Admin.
Mike
Can you pm me your IP address and page you are trying to access that is blocked?
I'm more worried your browser is doing something malicious, like a bad plugin or something. Did you try with Firefox incognito with no extensions enabled?
I looked up the IP you made that post with and did not see any firewall events. Is it possible your Firefox is using a VPN and Chrome isn't?

The url of the page is simply https://forum.xda-developers.com/
As I've said, until yestarday as well in the past weeks, I didn't had any problem with Firefox; furthermore I didn't changed anything as well I don't have firewalls nor vpn.
In incognito mode I don't get the blocked page; I tried to disable extensions but the problem still remains.
In the meantime I also tried to disable all extensions and I found the culprit: was "User-Agent Switcher and Manager": I disabled it and then re-enabled and now Firefox works again...
EDIT: I spoke too soon: it happened again: I'm going to send you the PM.
EDIT 2: I placed "forum.xda-developers.com" in the Extension's whitelist: seems that works again after various times.
EDIT 3: yay, I can confirm it: I'm writing from Firefox.

I cannot get the WiFi to work on my ATT Tilt 2.
Any ideas? I can see connect to the wireless net point, but no connection to the internet.
Kind Regards,
Jim
I'm having the same issue on stock AT&T Rom..
I think I just found a workaround though.. Try starting Opera without wifi on, get it connected, then turn on wifi, go back into Opera and see if that works for you.. I'd love a better fix if there's any other workarounds.. For all my searching, I can't find it..
From my wifi

i've got the SAME problem as you guys. (Owning an TP2 device with WM 6.5)... the Wifi connects to my Router But I cant get any data from it when im using Opera OR Skyfire.. even though I got a full signal.
PS. I did however notice some weird stuff from the Ip-adress - witch were not correct given that my router is sharing NAT adress with "192.168.0.XX" and not 192.168.1.XX -Witch were given in my Htc device..
And according to my D-link Router, My htc device gets No IP whatso ever.. But it can be detected.
Any solution ??

See.. I thought I already tried that.. Just applied it again, and still no go.. Hmm..
Edit- nope.. still not working even after a reset.. I just hard reset this thing (stock AT&T) 2 days ago.. skyfire and pie are working fine with the wifi..
My above method is still the only way it's working..
Yup same problem here, I came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621466&highlight=wifi+problems
and I guess if you update your Opera to a newer version it will correct this problem, but it seems to be alot of info there. Has anyone tried this?
Hello Forum,
I have been facing this problem for a while. For some Reason, When i visit a Website, Things like Google adsense, and a couple of Other scripts ( not all ), Wont load. I have not installed any sort of Adblocker or anything. I have Cleaned my phone ( factory reset ) couple of Times, and with my phone completely empty, and with default settings, I have tired, but still no change.
Moreover, I am also unable to visit some sites like http://www.whos.amung.us/ from my android phone, But I CAN visit the same site using my PC and iPad connected to the same wifi connection as my android phone.
To give you a better explanation, I will share two screen shots.
Here is how my site looks on the desktop version :-
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And here is how the site looks on my android device :-
Please Notice, the Google Ads Above and Below the article, The two ads on the Sidebar, The Ad on the footer, and a Page counter Javascript are all not visible on my Android device.
The page counter JavaScript on the footer of the site is hosted by whos.amung.us. Even when i try to visit the site manually, Android browsers ( stock, Dolphon, Opera ) all tell me cannot connect! Even though I can visit the same site from my Ipad and browser connected to the same wifi. I have also tried visiting the site from other Wifi connections and even using the 3G, but still no result ://
Am currently using Desire HD Android revolution 5.2. But the results are same with Desire HD stock ROM. Moreover, I had the same problem with my previous phone Samsung Galaxy S.
Please dont blame my connection or anything, Because I have tired tons of different connections. Other devices can load or connect, Only my android device's fail
I've had exactly the same problem I read on another forum Google is blocking ads which in turn is blocking other java script no idea how to fix it or why Google would be blocking ads!
After a bit of research after in started happening on my pc as well I found its because google has an on going patent battle with the people who own the java license
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda premium
So for about a week or maybe more (I haven't come to XDA in a long time) the page hasn't loaded up properly.

Having a few images missing here and there but not such a big deal... until today.
I noticed the computer was overheating and checked the task manager to find this:
12-15% CPU time and over a Gig used memory on several tabs (already closed in this image).
So I wandered what could be causing this, so I had a quick look under the hood to find this:
It seems the domain of the logo http://forum-lw-1.xda-cdn.com/images/2015/xda-logo_newcolors.svg is down or blocked.
Code:
net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
and both Chrome and Firefox keep trying to load it forever.
So taking that in account I used Hola to proxy my way around the problem and sure enough it worked!
I flushed my dns settings just to be sure that the problem wasn't on my side:
Code:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /registerdns
netsh winsock reset
Now I don't know if there is more issues with the pages I didn't debug the page since using a proxy resolved the problem for me but I urge the admins to look at this problem bot client and server side.
PS:I'm in Portugal

I've checked DNS, seems like all is working ok now: http://dns.squish.net/traverses/0b468a92af80738117500774a3a72e76
I don't know if this was just a temporary error on your end or what, can you check to see if this is still a problem?

Sorry for the late reply,
It seems that all is solved now, yes.
The only errors that I get now are these and they seem irrelevant.
It's weird because I saw the same problem a month or two before I made the post but now everything seems fixed.
Anyways thanks for looking into it.
This is what I see when I open an xda-developers.com web page:

same for me. no soloution ?
Same here, so annoying
yup, same here. I went and purged all my firefox extensions since that's what most results online said to do, but still getting it on a new profile with only Adblock Plus and Lastpass.
Update: Apparently Adblock Plus added a whitelist for criteo.net for some reason. I disabled those whitelist rules and now no longer get the download dialog box.

Good Find! Adblock Plus is whitelisting a lot of crap lately, looks like I have to move to UBlock Origin or something like that.
While removing it from the white list in Adblock is a bandaid solution, shouldn't XDA be fixing this?? I mean this has been going on for days now. I can't believe they're not doing anything about it.
Man that was annoying, even cleared my cookies and all other 'recent history' to no avail.
Finally I unticked 'Allow some nonintrusive advertising' which seemed to solve the problem, at least for now.
No problem here.
This's still annoying me
Possible fix
Oddly enough, disabling the filter that contains address of the site that prompts the download seems to fix it.
ABP -> Open Blockable items -> Search for the url (cas.criteo.com in my case) -> Disable filter

Works for me thank you.
I was getting this too. Disabling "allow some advertising" fixed it (for now...).

Work here! Thanks!!! Firefox in linux
Hello guys,
I have had one specific problem for literally years now and I could never find a solution.
Say I've got a Galaxy S20 and I won't root it. Leaves me with three options to block ads:
- use Firefox and uBlock origin
- set dns.adguard.com as custom DNS
- use Blokada, DNS66 or any other VPN-based adblocker
The problem with the latter two: Chrome will randomly stop functioning whenever I am connected to any wifi network.
It will just stop loading random sites, not show all pictures in Google Image search, not show anything anymore when you click back and forward or just stop loading anything at all.
Go to mobile connection, it immediately works. Disable the DNS/VPN blocker, it immediately works.
Reconnect wifi, it will work again for a while. Can be two days, can be ten minutes. It's completely random.
I am not able to figure out ANY reason why this is happening.
I know Chrome has its own DNS resolver and you should disable it when using DNS based blocking methods (disable async dns resolver and clear dns cache), and while this fixes the problem that not all ads are blocked in a reliable way, it doesn't fix the wifi connection loss.
Using DNS or VPN based blockers only cause problems in Chrome, no other app.
I know I could just switch browsers, its just that I use Chrome on desktop as well and like the synced bookmarks.
Does anyone have any idea why using a VPN/DNS based adblocker would cause Chrome to specifically stop working randomly only in a wifi network, but not via mobile?
I have had this issue over several devices and Android versions for years now and I can't figure it out.
Curious if any of you can help.
I responded to your comment in another thread.
Idk why Chrome has problems on Wi-Fi, but an easy solution would be to save your Chrome bookmarks to HTML file and import it into a different mobile browser. There are plenty of better browsers for privacy & adblocking.
Strange indeed. I am using adguard dns from last 2 years, never faced such issue on chrome.
You can do what I do. Use samsung internet and enable one of its many ad blocked off your choice.
On desktop, chrome install the samsung internet extension. It'll sync bookmarks between desktop chrome and samsung internet.
I use 1.1.1.1 dns.. I know it didn't block ads but it enables me to bypass dns blocked sites my goverment blocked. View attachment 5026155
