TLDR
the Mate 20x sucks if combined with Creative Outlier air 2 Bt TWS while making calls,
is there a good custom rom with other/ non huawei Bluetooth drivers that could fix the issue ?
that is safe for daily use ?
---------
Outlier Air V2 - BT 5.0 / aptX / AAC / SBC Siri, Google Assistant Bt 5.0 / a2dp / EDR / LE
Mate 20x 4G - BT 5.0 / a2dp / EDR/ LE / AAC / aptX / SBC, aptX HD, LDAC and HWA Audio /Google Assistant
from the specs there shouldn't be any problem.....
I'm still holding on to my Mate 20x its still a awesome phone love the screen the size and the camera
i don't mobile game so performance is still sufficient,
i recently made a factory reset first time after 2,5 years of continuous use and its a bit faster now what's god ^^
I'm mostly happy with performance and everything BUT
i hate the Bluetooth of this phone so much, so my question, is there a rom that i can use without hassle ?
that gets me around the Harmony OS update and also fix the Bluetooth ?
I'm owning some Creative outlier air V2 BT TWS and i love those, they have a lot of punch superb acoustics dampening , lots of bass and super batterie runtime. they connect with no problems an music listen kind of works as long as i have not more than a meter of distance between phone and earbuds, a pack of milk in between is enough to break connection.
Calling is nearly impossible with the earbuds,
mic is choppy AF and also what I'm hearing is crackling breaking interrupting and i have like ghostly noises
its super annoying,
i tested the headphones with an ios device ZERO problems,
i use them on my desktop as headset ZERO problems,
i use them on my laptop ZERO problems,
so it clearly the Mate 20x that is the problem and i already know out of experience with Fitbit devices that Huawei did something strange with their Bluetooth.

Bluetooth stereo headset: Sony DR-BT10CX
Problem: The playback pitch is changed after silence
The solutions form their support site http://www.sony.co.th/support/faq/189664/product/dr-bt10cx/modelfirst?site=hp_en_TH_i:
(1) Check interference with Wireless Lan or other Bluethooh connections.
(2) The communication condition may improve by sliding MODE switch to MODE 2
My question: what is MODE 2? How to switch to it? MODE 2=discoverable? MODE 1=connectable? Can someone answer, please?
Thanks in advance.

*My music is playing at different speeds, when connected to my bluetooth stereo headset (Sony, DR-BT10CX). Only when there's a silence, it is played at a higher speed and then at a slower speed, which is very annoying (it results in a false sounding song). It is a hardware-related problem discribed here: . General support site: http://www.sony.co.th/support/product/dr-bt10cx?site=hp_en_TH_i
i have something similar

HTC artemis, Moto HT820 headphones, touch 4.01 rom. on resume, it sounds *fractionally* faster for a second. I though I was imagining it...!
Update: The silence and pitch change is caused by interference with other wireless connections. In this case that is WiFi ~ wireless LAN. At the university some points are sensitive. Now, there is very little to no interference anymore. Speculative, the battery status may also play a role here.
Next to this, switching to MODE 2 (where the reception stability takes priority) might be a hardware switch on the Bluetooth headset, according to the manual of some other similar products. I haven't found such switch on my Sony.
I have it too
I have noticed the same on my EXIBEL BT stereo headset when listening to music from my TYTN II. It lasts for periods of several seconds, and is quite annoying. BTW, this happens even when i'm out walking in the open, presumably at a fair distance from any WIFI transmitters.
Yes, I have the same problem with my HTC One S (villec2) and cheapo sports headset. I can't really talk about the state of the art, since this phone is stuck on Android 4.1.1 -- but it just beggars belief that any developer anywhere thought it was acceptable to deal with buffer under/over-runs by varying the sample rate, and hence the pitch and tempo, during stereo playback. Do these people never listen to music?
What probably happened was that the Bluetooth audio system was originally designed for hands-free telephony, where low latency is paramount and pitch changes are barely noticeable since the content is just speech. This system was then re-used for stereo, when what they should have done was allow a larger buffer and longer latency (which doesn't matter with music playback) to cope with data interruptions. Lazy engineers.
Anyway, turning off Wi-fi greatly reduces the incidence of pitch shifts, but does not eliminate it completely. I look forward to the day when there is a supported custom ROM for my device based on Andriod >= 4.2, which apparently has improvements to Bluetooth data delivery. Bt I'm not holding my breath.
Bluetooth issue
I have the same problem with the Bluetooth skipping as well. I heard that it may be a interference problem with WiFi but its most likely the ROM. This ROM has stopped me from constantly switching to other roms because it has all the features I want and the battery life is great. I just hope that the Bluetooth issue can be fixed in time. :good: :good: for this amazing ROM though.
Just a basic simple question. I am sure most here are familiar with the issue of the mic in a BT headset not working post Gingerbread or at least since Android 4.x.
For those who don't know it's simple the onboard mic does not turn off allowing the mic in the headset to work. So while a stereo headset will give you sound if you want to dictate or use apps that need voice input your tablet has to be in front of you. It's a deflating problem because we buy these devices to enjoy, be more productive and more mobile. The blame seems to lay at the feet of Google (ya just need to slog through all the discussions about this as there are cases where it works perfectly, mostly, on phones but not at all on non-phone tablets.
Anyway, while I sit here trying to be patient and thanking my boss for buying an N5110 for me, I thought I'd ask some questions. My hope is perhaps something about the stack implementation for BT 4.0 LE was fixed to allow out headset mics to work on our tablets again.
My headsets are the LG BHS700 and BHS730. Super headsets BTW with loooong battery life. Around 10-14hrs continuous use on my tabs or phone.
For me the mic works fine with my LG Motion phone (snapdragon CPU, ICS 4.0.4, BT 3.0). Does not work on my Asus Transformer TF300T nor my Transformer Infinity TF700T. I am pretty sure the reports I've read on the Kindle Fires with BT is the mic doesn't work with them either, though that may have changed?
Sooo, anyone tested this out on your Note 8? Even worth asking those with the N5100 (GSM version yes?) or N5120(LTE version right) as there were comments of the mic only working with active phone calls and none of the other uses such as dictation or voice command.

I would bet your problem is that you are trying to use "listening" type stereo BT headsets, to perform "speaking" functions; those LG BT stereo headsets are ok for music, but suck when it comes to making phone calls, or audio dictation...They just dont have high quality/high performance microphones on them, since they are used primarily for listening to music..
I use a Bose BT2, and a BlueAnt BT headset with all my adroid devices, INCLUDING this one, without any voice or dictation issues.
You should get a mono, voice/phone call type BT headset, and I am certain you wont have any issues making phone calls, or dictating with this tablet...
thanks but you could not be more incorrect here. In fact the issue is not related to brand of headset. It is a well known and documented issue that came about post Gingerbread. And it seems mostly limited to NON-PHONE device though even some phones have issues it voice control and functioning of previously working voice related apps. That and the cessation of a previously working headset mic with the roll out of various versions of 4.x.x
So thanks but well, nope that does not address the question or issue. Though it's nice to know your headsets work on your N8. That is helpful.

My Galaxy S3 cannot be used with voice dictation, search, S-Voice, etc with the built in mic, especially when in the car (4.0 - 4.1). Using a Bluetooth headset it _actually_ works in both scenarios (quiet room, in car).
Although when combined with TeamSpeak it has a tendency to "Forget" it's hooked up to a headset and instead use the onboard mic and speakers. This normally occurs after a disconnect and reconnect to the TS server. But the new TS app isn't that much less of a piece of **** than the old TS app.
On previous 3.x and 4.x devices, I just did the old test: tap the onboard mic, tap the headset mic. The loud one is the input source.

Interesting new Slidey...make hopeful Samsung fixed whatever Google busted.
I did chuckle that your headset mic works and the on device dunna work. It made me jealous...
Oh, your testing method us that of Champions...meaning same thing I do. Heck it's all but impossible to muffle the on board mic they are so sensitive.
Can't wait to see if my headsets work...have to remain calm until Thursday. Seems I picked the wrong week to give up IV Xanax...
Likely dictated, not typed, on my LG Motion ICS 4.0 .4 with Tapatalk
Hi guyz !
I've bought the Sennheiser MM 450-x in hopes of enjoying the nice audio quality of the aptx codec, supposedly enabled on both devices. To my surprise it seems that there's something wrong with the Bluetooth transmission because i keep hearing short interrupts in the audio with greatly decrease audio quality, even though without this issue the sound is decent(bluetooth decent ).
Has anybody encountered the issue ?
The sound end result is like the device is having trouble compressing and not keeping up to deliver a steady audio signal. Clean sound(1 - 4 seconds) ... glitch(very short , like a pause in audio signal 0.2 sec maby) ... more clean sound (1 - 4 seconds) .... another glitch ... and so on and so forth.
Any help would be apreciated.
I have the same problem with my M8 using the Bose Soundlink On-Ear. I also tested with a different M8 also on Stock 5.0 but without stuttering.
Hi, is there any possible way to increase sound quality over bleutooth? I always stream music from deezer to my car stereo over bluetooth, but on MI9SE sound is too flat and little bit buzzy...
tried to change codec and others in developer set. but it does not work.

I am using it and it's fine. Music gets transmitted digitally via bluetooth, so either your car bt adapter is old or broken. I am using different bt devices with sbc and apt-x and all work fine. Xiaomi.eu weekly rom
so maybe my device have some bug, because when i connect honor 10 or galaxy s9 sound is rich and clear...
i am using lastest xiaomi.eu stable rom and car is Fiat 500X with built-in nav...
Hi All,
Even though I have a Bluetooth A2DP sink (a DAC) connected for media audio, my SM-320FL running current Android 8 Oreo stock ROM (XEU) still uses built-in loudspeaker, e.g. when using Youtube or Youtube music. Enabling the Samsung Separate Sound App feature and configuring Youtube app to send its audio to that sink there is the only way I've managed to force the audio there so far. So the feeling is that the OS won't treat connected sink as a higher priority audio destination. What might be the reasons? I have another 2 such phones (all 3 bought used in the UK), one at the current BTU and the other one at a rather old EVR as it's rooted and so won't autoupdate, and neither of them has such issue.
Many thanks in anticipation!
