Help! stuck post unlocking bootloader - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

So i was just following the instructions from this page https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/flox/install, was able to unlock the bootloader of my nexus 7 device. Now at this point i didnt know my device codename, i thought it was flox but i just noticed on the bootloader page it says deb. [Im a noob..guilty]
Now the 2nd step was no biggie either, i was able to flash twrp recovery, but somehow it was not working as i was keep getting error 1 and vendor invalid argument when i tried to flash the lineage 18.1 zip.
The recovery img i tried were
lineage-18.1-20211018-recovery-flox.img
twrp-3.4.0-0-deb.img
twrp-3.5.0_9-0-flox.img
twrp-3.5.2_9-0-flo.img
twrp-3.5.2_9-0-flo_followmsi.img
Now after flashing twrp recoveries i was getting the problem of not able to flash the LOS 18.1 rom file, plus if i would format the device and then try to reboot the device back to recovery i would get an error with android logo collapsed [check the image]
what am i doing wrong? plz help.
I sense its repartitioning process? also i am not sure if i did an EFS Persists back up.
so if someone can give a walkthrough. would be very greatful _/\_
thanks again

"automatic single-click installation" is better than a walkthrough - use CROSS

Bricked my Oneplus 3

Okay so I'm new to all this rooting and stuff and I was messing around with TWRP and now my when I turn on my OP3, it shows "md5 checksum failed" with "cache:failed", "system: failed", "system_aging:failed" and goes into a bootloop. And I cant even boot it to recovery mode. It's driving me crazy!
Can you still boot into fastboot? Turn on with volume up, if so reflash TWRP, and then restore your backup, or flash a stock rom.

I can boot it into fasboot and I tried flashing TWRP, OxygenOs and even Cyanogenmod. Still didnt work.
Didn't work how, are you getting errors in console?. Can you flash TWRP and boot into it?
You have successfully bricked your device.
Don't worry use a Oneplus download tool to download stock firmware to your device in download mode.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-3.452634/
The method 2 worked fine for me.
Go ahead..!!
Hope it helps
A bricked device is broken unable to be fixed, this is a soft brick as you can still get it to respond.
For future users if you broke something and want help please supply at least the following.
1. What you did, yes it's embarrassing but maybe someone can undo it.
2. What you are still able to do, can you access recovery, fastboot or adb.
3. What you've tried, if you try and flash something and get an error message let us know.
The more information you supply the better the chances someone can help. A simple my device is bricked help can't achieve much.
So I'm telling now how I got to this situation:
I'd installed a rooted OxygenOS with TWRP. I don't know how I thought it was a good idea to lock the bootloader after I installed TWRP, still did it. After that I was able to load in to fastboot, nothing else. Followed Method 1 on the link from Joyo-rocker and came to the posters message. Now I'm trying Method 2. Will update this post.
Edit: If your phone shows the boot messages "md5 checksum failed" with "cache:failed", "system: failed", "system_aging:failed" you need to fully reload your ROM over the unbrick tool. Look for Method 2 in Joyo-rockers link in this post (cant post links yet)

Go to the folder where the recovery tool.exe is. Boot your phone into Fastboot.
Search for cache.img, system.img, system_aging.img and put them in your ADB file folder
Type this:
Fastboot devices > doesn't show up? No worries I'll help you later this day just let me now.
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash system_aging.img
Fastboot flash cache cache.img
If it boots and you don't have Sim and WiFi. Then reflash Oxygen OS and don't boot it! Boot it into Fastboot and type:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
Now boot it and u can do whatever you want!

Why would you install windows instead fix the driver thing.
Was having problems with uninstalling the drivers. They would always come back so only way I could do it was by a reinstall of windows.
This was already mentioned, as i remember. Just let me search for a minute cause i had this same issue.

You see.. OOS had force encryption. Go to Fastboot and type "fastboot erase userdata" then go to recovery and flash OOS or any other rom.. Password should be gone now.

you are pretty much left with useless device. Maybe paid service like dc-unlock could help, not sure.
You intentionally locked bootloader with phone in a no-recovery non booting condition.
The unlocked bootloader was you rescue method if something goes wrong, and now you don't have that option.

2. copy the dload folder to root of sdcard
3. power on phone holding all three buttons
4. After phone finishes and reboots, unlock frp and bootloader, if needed
5. Use Huru or HWOTA to flash correct firmware for your model/ region.

Hm, ok. If you're getting kernel failed to load errors from the bootloader, then maybe you flashed the wrong boot.img for your device?
Either way, try flashing the XT1922-9_no_dm-verity_boot.img.
To do so, make sure you have TWRP. You don't have to install it, but if you wanna root you can flash it...
So either do..
Code:
fastboot boot moto-g6-play-jeter-patched-twrp.img
Or do..
Code:
fastboot flash recovery moto-g6-play-jeter-patched-twrp.img
After you have TWRP running, then flash the boot.img by doing..
Code:
fastboot flash boot XT1922-9_no_dm-verity_boot.img
All of these instructions are found in the thread for your device [GUIDE][ROOT][Moto G6 Play][JETER] TWRP, Root, and magisk installation guide
There is also a step to flash a modified fstab.qcom file to remove forced encryption as well which you should look into. But honestly I would like to see you get outta this situation you're currently in then we'll get the rest done after

Ok, well we're getting somewhere at least. Sounds like you have the right boot.img at the very least. Now we need to find you the right stock firmware (or even at minimum a system.img and vendor.img from some else with the same device).
I'll look around to see what I can find.
Next thing I need from you is to connect your device to the computer and reboot to bootloader and get me the output of..
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and copy/paste it to https://hastebin.com or copy/paste it to a text file and upload the text file as an attachment here (or wherever you want and post the link) so I can review it. That should tell me what I need to know to help you a little better. Do NOT just copy/paste the output into a post please.

Vendor partition issues - z2 plus

Hello
I was trying to flash AEX 6.3 on z2 plus and i get the error " E20001: failed to update vendor image" and
updater process ended with error 7.
How can i resolve this problem?
Also i get the message " your device software can't be checked for corruption", please lock the boot loader.
This message comes after an update and prior to that it was working fine.
Phone is struck at ZUK logo and does not boot.
Any suggestion to solve this issue?
Thanks and much appreciated.

did v2f. installed latest official twrp. same situation and no change.
did not do the second part.
the following message still appears.
" your device software can't be checked for corruption", please lock the boot loader.
It was a working device and this happened after an OTA update.
Don't understand why this happens? can you give more specific instructions and point me to any links that can help.
thanks.
" your device software can't be checked for corruption", please lock the boot loader. This is because you unlocked your bootloader and installed the custom recovery.

TWRP for Sony XZ2c instead of Lineage Recovery?

Hi everyone
After some research, I can't find a succeful way to install TWRP recovery instead of Lineage stock recovery.
It's really embarasing because I'm currently setting up my brand new XZ2c compact to run the way I want it to on Lineage OS 17.1 with Magisk and Xposed modules, and I experienced 3 or 4 endless bootloop that led me to fully format my phone after bunch of hours setting it and tailoring it up... Huge waste of time, frustration overload, as you could expect. So, I really miss tremendous TWRP backup fonctionnality I used to run frequently on my old Z5c... :crying:
Does anyone here as figured out how to replace Lineage stock recovery on this device? Is so, I'd really to hear him out
Have a good week-end!

Thanks for your (minimalist) advice. Literally just lost 1 hour fixing the bootloop it just caused by following it, I'm delighted.
Behind my post, I was hoping to find someone who could explain a bit more the process of replacing/flashing/booting/(wateveryouwanti'mnotanexpert) a recovery, and at the same time avoiding me wasting more hours in bootlooping/formating/reinstalling. Hopefully, this time I succeed to came out of the bootloop without formating and reseting eveything, but I almost lost my nerves.
All of this is a bit cloudy for me, could you (or someone else that would give me a little of his time to) be pedagogue and explain clearly the whole proccess (and especially what you should avoid if you don't want to get stuck in a bootloop/getting scarying corrupted device message) ?

Wrong forum. Search in you device section.
Hi guys!
Today I tried again to install TWRP on my Sonyh Xperia XZ2C because LineageOS Recovery doesn't provide Nandroid backup, which is a shame.
I tried many ways described over the web, none of those worked, and I ended up with a boot loop at startup with that naughty message "your device is corrupted it cannot be trusted and will not boot". I can't boot to Lineage, neither to recovery. I'm stuck.
With device turned off, I can eventually press volume down, plug it to computer, access fastboot mode (blue led), flash+boot the LineageOSrecovery.img, then the device restart, Sony logo appears... and that's all, I'm stuck with logo in boot loop, and I can't go anywhere further.
I tried to change boot slot (without knowing if it could help with this problem at all) but I alway get "unknown option".
I'm panicking right now, I can't find any way out to this bootloop, if someone could help it will be sooo appreciated!
I tried hard to find a solution for 4 hours now, I'm completly stuck and I can't even sleep. That's why I finally reached out here.

In fastboot mode you should be able to flash stock rom
Is there any way to make the device boot on the Lineage partition without wiping everything?
For an unknown reason, I succed to boot on Lineage Recovery (not TWRP) this morning. I flashed LineageOs rom.zip using adb sideload. After rebooting, the recovery tolds me that I had to wipe everything because the system partition seems to be corrupted, so I did.
I'm a bit tired to lost everything since I made all of this to do Nandroid backups with TWRP........ but I have a fresh new install, my phone works again so it's fine.
But I still need to make Nandroid backups.
Kurtn, you seem to have skills and knowledge. As you can see, I didn't succeed to boot Twrp since october 2020. I don't see why it would be impossible with my device, I'm probably messing something somewhere.
Would you share your knowledge and help me booting/flashing TWRP without bricking everything again?

Btw.
Code:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
DOES install the recovery, since it's permanently flashed. Don't know why they (lineage) didn't change that.

However @tomboudiboudi , you could boot twrp manually using
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
With that, twrp should appear and ask for a password to decrypt your userdata partition.
If that works, you could try to flash boot this very same twrp.img. Maybe you need an additional twrp.zip too which will be sideloaded within twrp itself.
A note for you which might help: I wanted to update my lineage recovery manually using fastboot (older lineage recovery to newer one) and found that nothing (except fastboot) was booting at all after flashing this.
However, after dirty flashing lineageOS.zip, everything worked fine again.
Keep in mind that flashing a recovery will modify your boot.img. If this one doesn't work / is corrupt etc., your os won't boot up.

Btw.
Code:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
DOES install the recovery, since it's permanently flashed. Don't know why they (lineage) didn't change that.

I fear you still haven't realized, what a/b means. The classic concept of having a recovery partition, where you can boot twrp at any time - doesn't apply.

You're right, there is no recovery partition.
As I said: Flashing a recovery.img will modify the boot.img.
