Did you try to disable driver signature verification on Windows before installing the drivers?
I only found the guide for win10 but it should work anyway.

if there is any compatibility mode in installing drivers.
then you can install it..
you need to disable driver verification in windows 8
Go to PC settings.."General".."Advanced startup"..then "restart"...
then choose "Troubleshoot"..."Advanced option"..."Windows Startup settings and restart"...
then select "disable driver signature enforcement"...
then restart and try to install the driver

Yes like arpith.fbi said you must remove driver digital firm autentication, after this it should work...
If it already not work, you must istall drivers.exe from flashtool(check in the menu installation only fastboot mode drivers)
maybe this can help! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973022
Right !!

Hey is it possible at the moment to root my One X with Win8 as system? And if I can where can I find a tutorial?
This should do it. You can use same drivers as if you were on Win7.
If you prefer to do it manually... Link
I get this error when trying to install the drivers even in compatible mode..

My apologies. I found this guide: link
got them but doesnt work with fastboot.. any idea?
What happens if you attempt to use fastboot? Phone in fastboot mode?
Sent from my One X
doesnt work either
That's weird, I downloaded and installed HTC Sync on Windows 8 just normal and it works fine.
I'm on Windows 8 and the drivers didn't install for me as well, use this tutorial it's for Win7 but works for Windows 8
http://onexroot.com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/
Go to step 5 and download the drivers and just carry on the tutorial from there
You have to turn "Digitally Signed Drivers" off, which is made very difficult in Windows 8.
Before starting, remove everything already installed ! Under device manager etc.
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
Then re-install all the drivers etc

whenever I try to install the Samsung drivers I get this, no matter how many times I wipe the drivers from my computer and install them as admin, I keep getting this

Where did you get the drivers? You could try the Samsung website.

I've tried both links from here and directly from samsung's website, same result
I'm stumped as to why it won't work. I have installed them on a XP and Win7 machine without a problem. Are you using Win8?

Nope, Windows 7, I found a guide that says to uninstall the drivers from the device manager as well as programs so I'm going to give that a shot

The Samsung drivers are notoriously difficult to install. Usually it's just a problem of finding the correct driver for your exact phone model. You'd think that would be easy.. but Samsung has a million variants.
The easy solution is to install Kies which will identify and install the correct driver for you. If you subsequently find that Kies interferes with Odin you can simply uninstall Kies, but you'll still have the driver you need in place.
.
I managed to install Windows 10 on my Windows RT, following this tutorial, and it looks good.
Now I'm trying to install Android X86 on it. I was thinking it gonna be easier from windows 10.
I think the strategy used in the tutorial was to create a Recovery Drive so that Windows allows usb detection. I was wondering if we could do the same thing to install another OS like Android.
At the moment, when I try to boot on my usb bootable Android, it doesn't boot.
Maybe the secure boot is again looked, I have again the lock icon ...

What does classic mean? Just make sure there's usb A on the computer side... Do you have USB debugging and OEM unlocking enabled in developer settings?
yes all active

This resolved the same issue for me as well. Odd though, because it was working fine for me a couple of months ago.
This is a windows problem, and as others stated downloading the fastboot driver does work, I had to manually install it as an optional update through Windows Update last time it happened, but I prefer to use Linux, as this is one of those "just works" scenarios on there (albeit MSM tool requires Windows, and unaware of a workaround)
