what should i do to avoid hardbrick? also wondering if it needs otg usb adapter to be sure to have sdcard for flashing in twrp?
A hardbrick is almost surely fault of trying to flash a ROM with Mi Flash while having the "flash all and lock" option ticked, otherwise you'll most likely just get softbricks when flashing a custom ROM wrong, be sure to have your bootloader unlocked, and follow a guide like this:
How to flash ROM and TWRP on POCO F3 / k40 / mi11x. And an explanation. A very important guide
Mandatory instructions for beginners (and not only beginners) to install ROM and other on poco f3 Prerequisite, unlocking the bootloader For questions, if something is not clear, please write to "Conversations", I will try to correct it in a post...

Hi!
Just a quick question:
Does unlocking the bootloader on Xiaomi Mi6 voids my warranty, even if I would relock the booloader and flash it to stock ROM & Factory Reset?
I do not own the Xiaomi Mi6 right now, but this would be very useful to know, as I'm considering buying this device.
I did found this post on the MIUI forums, which seems to be a an official reply, but I think the answere is somewhat vague, can somebody please clarify it for me?
Does somebody has any experience about if Xiaomi actually cares as long as the bootloader is relocked, and stock rom is flashed correctly, before sending a device for warranty repair?
hi.. I Will try to answer..
- unlocking your bootloader Will void your warranty
- if you are in Global Stable and trying to flash Global developer throught updater app, it wont work.
you have to flash Global developer Rom with fastboot Rom with miflash tool throught edl mode.
other methode is.. flash MIUI Global developer 6.8.18 first throught updater app then flash the latest Global developer.. (I dont think this Will work with all user)
- its not possible to root without unlocking your bootloader
if you are worry about your warranty..
Xiaomi are user friendly..
just flash Global Stable Rom throught miflash tool with flash all. it Will give you clean flash installation. It Will re-locked your bootloader, lose root acces and lose custom recovery/TWRP.
about service center..
I Will avoid going to service center..
as long it is about firmware problem, bootloop (softbrick) or dead state (hardbrick). I Will solve it personally..
(they can take long time to repair your device, 1 week up to 3 month)
for Kenzo (Snapdragon or Qualcomm) users
you can recover your softbrick phone with miflash tool.
for hardbrick phone ..
you can use
1. deep flash cable or
2. test point methode
adding more info..
- flashing custom Rom, custom recovery, custom kernel Will void your warranty.
- you can flash other official MIUI Rom type (from Global Stable to Global developer or event to China version) without unlocking your bootloader. just use miflash tool and enter edl mode
- flashing official MIUI Rom throught miflash tool with edl mode (locked bootloader) will not void your warranty
if you are afraid about flashing custom Rom..
Dont be afraid..
- read alot before flashing, the thread ussualy provide solution for the problem
- if you get get stuck, softbrick etc, etc.. while flashing custom Rom or kernel
just flash official MIUI Rom with miflash tool..
recover your phone first, then.. back to square one, follow the step given by the thread on how to flash custom Rom.
PS : I'm not trying to explain about the warranty. I'm encouraging you to explore your phone. if your phone is for daily use.. you dont have to unlock your bootloader.
I'm Kenzo users, MIUI China developer 6.9.29
unlocked bootloader, root, flash xposed, radon kernel, Magisk v6, zcx TWRP and flash audio modification (viper Atmos +audio +beat)
hope it Will enlighten you..

Hi, I just received my Mi A2 Lite and I have some specific questions before I start trying risky stuff:
1- I read that to flash with MiFlash, I need an authorized account. Is this for specific situations or the MiFlash tool is completely unusable without autorization?
2- I also heard that some Xiaomi devices have anti-rollback protection that cannot be desactivated even with an unlocked bootloader. Is this also the case with our device or since it's with android one, the anti-rollback can be desactivated with unlocking the bootloader? So for example when the pie update is released, would it be possible to go back to Oreo?
3- Last and less important question: if I flash a treble ROM, will I brick my phone if I relock the bootloader?
Thank you in advance!
1. No. You can also use fastboot to flash.
2. As far as I know (and I may be wrong) - there is no rollback protection for Xiaomi Android One devices.
3. I haven't tried that - I assume you mean relocking the bootloader while the Treble ROM is installed? I'd assume you would be fine as you could just run fastboot to unlock again but you can try that out.
I used MiFlash with my A2 Lite to flash stock firmware and I don't have any Xiaomi account. I rollbacked from September (OTA) to July (FULL fastboot rom) and updated again to September via OTA without any problems.
Thank you for your answers
So I assume MiFlash always works for this device? It would be very usefull to have this extra option in case a hard brick happens and the fastboot is not accessible
Isn't MiFlash just a GUI for fastboot?

No, MiFlash controls the EDL. The EDL (Emergency Download Mode) is a Qualcomm feature that has a lower level and has more permissions and higher privileges. And if the device is hard bricked and can't boot on nor recovery NoƩ fastboot, there's a hardware way to boot into EDL (see here : https://www.google.dz/amp/s/www.magnetforensics.com/blog/qualcomm-phone-edl-mode/amp/ ). So that has nothing to do with fastboot and is more efficient in the case of a brick (as long as there's no problem with Xiaomi authentication
Edit : It also seems that the EDL isn't on the internal storage so even if we manage to completely mess up with the partitions, the EDL cannot be currupted (https://alephsecurity.com/2018/01/22/qualcomm-edl-1/)
Sorry for the double post
Hello everyone.
My POCO F3 still hasn't passed the 7 days for the bootloader to be unlocked.
So, I have been reading about ARB and how it seriously can brick your phone if ARB indices aren't matching.
I really wanna flash Xiaomi EU once my bootloader is unlocked. And I am gonna go with fastboot version for safety.
- Do I really need to worry about this ARB thing when flashing custom roms ?
Any extra handful info is much appreciated
UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER before any firmware or ROM installation. That's the key advice. If you don't the chance of a hard brick is high. Next thing I'd say is that you can ARB to trigger when flashing custom firmware so my personal recommendation is to use something like xiaomi.eu and then you don't have to play with mi flash and risk triggering anti rollback. Also custom ROMs just modify the dynamic partitions so you're fine to change from custom ROM to another (obviously you've got to factory reset)

Thanks. So custom roms developers have already taken measures about that, from what I understand.
Hi guys since I might sell and upgrade my device, I just wanna know how do I re-lock my Poco F3 bootloader. It is safe to re-lock the bootloader in the Mi flash tool(clean and lock)? I've seen many people that they bricked their device with clean and lock option on mi flash tool, should I re-lock my device through fastboot mode + CMD? Please enlighten me, thank youuu.

That's what I thought too, they might flash wrong region firmware on their devices and ended up bricking their devices, but how did you fix your device? Did you just flash through mi flash tool the correct firmware region in to your device? or did you get EDL something?

Hi,
I had major issues with this and other roms with doing strange things apps playing up, banking apps detecting root, the answer for me was to install xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK40_POCOF3_22.1.19_v13-12-fastboot via my PC and using windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat,
after the initial install boot into temporary TWRP via FASTBOOT install this great rom via a OTG adaptor and USB Stick, after install reboot into Descendant recovery and choose factory reset, i hope this help
My Poco F3 is listed as a, M2012K11AG
Here is my Revised install instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-aliothin-descendant-12.4379245/post-86552205

It's stand for engineering firmware. Where we can clear the security of Xiaomi & repair our phone.

Why do you need this, if you can get into FASTBOOT you can fix your phone,
this is the original firmware that came with my phone that i brought in the UK
alioth_eea_global_images_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM_20210907.0000.00_11.0_eea
if your phone is completely dead then look on Youtube to unbrick your F3,
this is a file that i found just in case i needed it, but haven't used it,
Mi 11X-F3 (alioth_) MI_Account+FRP UNLOCK & UNBRICK FILES,
as far as i am aware Poco f3 engineering firmware is not available in the public domain
