Ok, will do but i was a bit confused since it said global but the name referring to EEA which EU..... didn't wanna brick the phone.
Also do i have to be unlocked to upgrade?
Yeah, True. EEA is EU and Mi is global. Its confusing. I guess if you try to Update manually with inbuilt Updater (three dot) the Phone will only Flash correct Roms because without open bootloader you cant switch from EU to global oder Chinese etc.
It's quite tricky because as I checked with Mi9 you can swap regions hassle free with XiaoMiTool V2. Even with locked BL. Here, with F3 I haven't checked yet because... I'm a bit scared of getting a brick :/
With stock recovery you can easy upgrade (with correct FW ofc). Go to updater app in settings, tap at MIUI12 logo few times until some text appears. Then, 3 dots and choose local file with FW and go ahead with updating. I have done it to 12.5.6 (stable beta).

There is no beta, it's only stable....if im choosing the correct FW
Apologise, I downloaded it from somewhere else where it shows as stable beta (whatever it is - they also said is stable but not fully send to users).
But yeah, go ahead with full recovery rom.

Cheers, downloading rn.
I just click the 3 dots and all should be good? I'm locked with BL also.
Thanks in advance.
Click it and check if you have option like choose update package. If not, you must tap at miui_logo as long and you see 'additional update features are on' notification.

Hi everyone. I am new to this sub.
Was wondering if my device is ready to use, or do I need to flash it.
Ordered global rom, but not sure if this is stock. Don't want bloat, and need google play store.
Thank you!

Hey! If its genuinely a Global version the writing on the box should be in English, and if the handset hasn't been tampered with the box should come sealed in cellophane.
If that's the case then you shouldn't have to flash anything at all. If the handset comes with the Chinese ROM installed and you want native Google Apps you'll have to flash the Global ROM
Whether its China or Global it doesn't matter. Flashing to Global ROM is straightforward, risk free and takes just 10 minutes.
check your MIUI rom version. if your rom version is not four digits with 3 dots, e.g: 8.1.2.0 then yours is not on official rom.
if it is not on official MIUI rom, then its always good to flash with the stable global MIUI rom.

Hey, AFAIK the latest stable Global ROM is: MIUI Global 8.1 | Stable 8.1.4.0 - Android 6.0.1 - Security Patch Level 2016-12-01
Try running the system updater app and see if you can grab the latest OTA
(System -> About Phone -> System Updates [at the bottom])

That should be unofficial rom or usually called distributor rom. Usually you will encounter ads.
So if its me, i will flash it with official rom. The latest version is 8.1.6.0 global miui
I just got mine from ordering from Aliexpress also, I think from the Xiaomi direct store. Just received it and I did get to choose English and it does have Google Play Store. I found it weird and interesting that I couldn't select US as the locale so I selected HK for now.
Oh forgot to mention my box was all in Chinese. I've also updated from some version of 8 to 8.1.4.0 stable.
Is it safe to downgrade from android 10 to android 9 using MIUI Fastboot rom even without authorized account from xiaomi? If possible, can you guys please help me how.

I've tried it and it's safe. to make sure it's safe please first check the current ARB version and make sure it's the same as the ARB version for the MIUI ROM that will be flashed for downgrade..

Bro do you have begonia and was your anti version of your phone 1 also can you provide me the link of you miui 11 a9 rom
The ARB is always 1 in every ROM distribution for begonia. Is ARB a thing in MTK devices?
Anyway, just downgrade via miflash, and never lock your bootloader, i.e. choose "flash only" or "keep userdata", but for downgrading android, you may encounter some issue that solvable by factory reset.

you can find it here https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/begonia/ and make sure the ROM is in accordance with your device both from the region and the ROM code, make sure you have unlocked the bootloader to increase the MIUI version and downgrade the MIUI version by using the mi flash tool (recommended)

I found it strange already because my previous rom was EU version. What's the difference between global and EU?
Send from my Mi 10 Lite 5G
The Eu rom uses Google applications for contacts, calendar, calls, etc. and there is no recording of calls

No you can not!
Because the global and the eea are two different rom.
If you want miui 12.5.6_EEA you have to:
1)Unlock the bootloader;
2)Flash fastboot full version 12.5.6 with miflash.

Wrong its possible without unlocking bootloader, I did it yesterday.
On my X3 Pro from EEA to Global. I made it with XiaomiToolV2 but use the Local Zip File option that works.

I dont think so. It works fine for me but I still did a factory reset after the update (just to be sure), no problems so far. Im using the phone since yesterday. I even got OTA update from 12.5.4.0 to 12.5.5.0 and it was successful
You can actually. I've switched from Global rom to India rom without unlocking bootloader with no problems before. I've even locked it by an accident when i was coming back from Xiaomi.eu rom (not EEA) and it worked perfectly fine. Then I've unlocked again and went back to custom roms. Just don't flash China rom. My phone is Global variant if it helps.

yes, it is possible, (I haven't personally tested that software) but using the full package and not the incremental upgrade.
However, it is not recommended to do any modding operation with a locked bootloader, because if any problem occurs in the process it is more complicated to solve it.
Let's say it is much safer to do these operations with an unlocked bootloader.
Yes it's very dangerous with a locked bootloader. Be careful. You risk bricking your phone and not being able to flash again.
The first thing I want to say is that I'm using Google Translate
I just updated the EU ROM MIUI 14 and I have 2 errors below.
+when I first uploaded the rom, the status bar was normal but then the status bar, the notification panel, it was completely transparent,
+When I go to Google services and some parts of the settings, it changes the background color to light brown.
I need to know if it's a ROM bug or if I've
installed something wrong, and I'll fix it.
looking forward to help from everyone..
I know the EU ROM can't update via OTAs. But on MIUI 14, I open the update section, there is a message "Choose to update via OTA or via TWRP" I also see the section Select update package in the settings section
Thank you.

First I thank you for your reply.
i tried factory reset but it didn't fix it.
my case is like reading mode, but i don't turn it on at all both before the upgrade and after the upgrade.
When I upgrade, I can restore previously backed up data.
Which EU version you installed is it Stable or Beta.
When this happens it is advised to install original version of miui and then flash EU one to resolve issues.
upgrading from 13.0.6 upwards shouldn't be an issue i expect you must have had something on the system which is broken before hand.

if back to 12.5.8, I asked the store where I bought it and flashed the rom, it said "if back to the old version of 12.5.8, the phone may leak.
if i go to miui china, can i update myself via ota to go back to miui.eu.
