Greetings
I'll try to list as much info as possible about this issue.
When I go try to Register this device I get the following error msg: "The information you entered does not match an Amazon account. Please try again. For help visit www.kindle.com/support".
I can assure you that the login info and password are correct. Also, I receive a text with my 6 digit OTP. As a test I tried my wifes account info - same result.
While researching this on the internet, it appears it could be old software (?). I'm running version 8.5.1 and this is a 2012 model (8.9) with the first four digits of the serial # being B0CA.
I attempted to update the software. According to what I found, when I plug the Fire Tablet into a desktop via cable, I should be able to access an Update folder on the Tablet. In this case there is no Update Folder to work with. Also, the Update button is greyed out.
Any info/help appreciated! I'd really like to put this tablet to good use.
Thanks!
When you get the error message, and then the 6 digit OTP, you have to introduce these 6 digits again in the password field. Then you are good.

Greetings,
(Today is Monday, 07.01.2013 and this post describes my question about using Kindle Fire 2 with apk-downloader 1.4.0 + Google Chrome 24.)
I want to apologize if this is a well known question, but I could not find anything relevant between the loads of info about Kindle Fire 1 and Kindle Fire HD. The question is: is it possible to use the last version of APK downloader (1.4.0) with Chrome 24 or 23 to download apks from Google Play for Kindle Fire 2.
I tried to follow the steps, described on the author's page but ultimately I failed. Here's what I did.
1. I did clear install of Windows XP in Virtual PC (in case the software turned to be malware)
2. I installed the last version of Chrome (24.xxx).
3. ...downloaded apk-downloader 1.4.0 and dragged it onto the extensions page of chrome, which initiated installation of the extension. Went ok.
4. ...ensured that one of my two ancient Google accounts (from the time before phone registrations and etc...) is accessible with the proper username and password (no google wallet of whatsoever personal information in it).
5. Downloaded Redphx's Device ID application via friend's phone - and installed it on kindle with Easy Installer (found on amazon appstore).
This was the first glitch - the device id application failed to show any device id. So I went on to 6
6. I found AIDE on Amazon Appstore and wrote a small application to retrieve the value of Secure.ANDROID_ID. I did that, because I read in some post that TelephonyManager.getDeviceId(); returns null on tablets that do not have cellular connectivity.
7. Entered the account info and the AndroidID into the plugin and went on Google Play. Whenever I'm on an app download page, the plugin icon appears, but also in the webpage under the application name I get "You don't have any devices." Clicking the plugin button in urlbar fails with error 400 "Bad request"
I guess, that either the android_id is not what google wants or the whole thing with apk downloader is a scam. Do You have any ideas? Some clever algorithm to generate fake device ids maybe? My friend's phone (Samsung Galaxy II) seems to download apks that mostly work when installed on my kindle. But I hate to be obtrusive enough to ask for his device id.
Here is a secondary question. Everybody seems to hide their device_id. If someone has Your device_id can he do something nasty?
.
Your question can best be addressed in the proper forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1789 .
i have just got a amazon fire booted up i already had an account so signed in nothing happens
then tried to setup new account had email saying registered but when i enter password etc does nothing throws you back to the beginning
any help appreciated
I've signed in to countless of Amazon Fire TV's without any issues before. I recommend you try and access those accounts on computer first, to be sure you are using the proper credentials. Once you can confirm you have the correct credentials, try again on the AFTV.
If you had special character \ it may not work (credit to AFTVnews). If you're on wifi, try a direct connection.
One other option is go to Amazon website de-register your device and restart the process.
I had Google Play on my device when it was on version 3. Now that I'm on the latest version 5 software I went through the tutorial on AFTVnews and all seemed to work. My only problem is when I go to the app it gives "authentication required" error. I can see that it shows my account name in Play Accounts (or whatever it's called as I'm not in front of my machine at the moment), but I know since the version 3 days I have changed my password. So I'm assuming it's hung up. I can't find anywhere to reset it or a workaround. I see where someone asked here with no answer. Could use some help please. Thanks.
Reset ZenFone 2. Now asking to verify the account but getting "disallowed_useragent"
I was having touch-screen issues so I reset my phone. When I boot now I get prompted for language, wi-fi, etc. Next screen says:
Verify your account
This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device.
Click to collapse
The problem is that there's no place to enter any information, just a button "Verify account". When I press the button I get a Google error:
403. That's an error.
Error: disallowed_useragent
Google can't sign you in safely inside this app. You can use Google sign-in by visiting this app's website in a browser like Safari or Chrome.
Click to collapse
...but I don't know the app and I can't do anything else on the phone. Can anyone provide an answer on how to fix it?
UPDATE:
So the OS version was really old. I went through a series of updates by side-loading the ROMs from the ASUS support site. After 3 or 4 upgrades I had a completely different experience and it let me verify my account. All seems well for now.
Just a couple of notes in case someone else has issues:
- Using Fedora (linux) desktop I needed to use "sudo ./adb devices" to be able to start the server and perform the side-load. Without "sudo" I was receiving an error about permissions.
- I performed the upgrades starting with the kernel version that was already on the phone and then upgraded to the next release each time after booting to each upgrade. I did this because I received an error on one upgrade saying I couldn't go there directly.
Peace.
I have the exact same issue with a phone that I'm trying to setup for my kid. Where did you get your firmwares for this phone?
Start by going here: https://icr-am.asus.com/webchat/icr...634.649586617.1546133606-337662955.1546133606
Then select "Download Center" from the chat window pane. Select your specific phone model. Select BIOS & FIRMWARE. Be sure to select the correct version for your phone (WW, CN, JP, etc.)
Good luck!
After logging in with either Waterfox or Chromium when I go to User Profile/User Details. It says:
"Our records show that you have already registered under the name of aileronster. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here."
Clicking the "Modify profile" just takes me back to the same message. Also I was having problems with Authenticate Email address didn't work and was giving the same message above I believe. So I waited a day to see if I would get a confirmation email with no luck
I've been reading for days on how to root/backup an LG K8 (2018) X210ULMG which doesn't seem to have proper support. So I have a long road ahead of me to figure out exactly how to create a custom TWRP, root the thing, RIP the ORIGINAL image off the phone (NOT Something similar.) So I need to be able to ask questions and get clarifications. So would really like to be able to make sure the whole site works for me, as I think I'm going to be hacking/researching this (hopefully carefully) for a while before I'm successful.
