I install CWM 6027 with Recovery method.
Everything went well until i want to start my Samsung Gio GT-S5660. When starting, it keeps hanging in Samsung animation and repeat that animation. I can stop that by removing my battery. And try to start again. (Bootloop)
I can start in recovery mode and see a proper CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.7 screen and there is a menu as this:
- reboot system now
- install zip from sdcard
- install zip from sideload
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cash partition
- backup and restore
- mounts and storage
- advanced
Before i started to put that CWM 6027, my phone was root (succes show rootchecker) and link2sd was installed and there was partition to use link2sd well. My phone was working well but cannot start now. For CWM, i download from here ******* mediafire.com/ download/lhnpax6bsra58x5/cwm-6.0.2.7-ItachiSan-ext4only.zip
What can i do now coz i want that upgrade to cyanogenmod 10.1
Plse help.
I am from the netherlands so excuse me for my english.
I recently installed twrp and for my moto g5 then I did format data later on went for reboot system then I found no os installed so I installed a custom Rom later rebooted the system then I got stuck in twrp loop. I went through all the solution but it did not work so please help. Thank you
If you're on stock rom you need to remove dm-verity for it to boot (read faqs on twrp thread!)
For custom rom flash it correctly
Wipe
Advanced wipe
Wipe system data cache
Install
Select rom zip
Select gapps zip
Select root zip (optional)
Wipe cache
Restart
What architecture rom and twrp are you using?
Is it possible for the whyred change from ext4 to f2fs?
I try with the ultimete official TWRP (I can't insert the link but i talk about twrp-3.2.3-2).
I start in recovery mode, go to wipe, advence wipe go on cache and data and change file system, but the recovery don't mounts partition, so i can't flash any ROM.
Someone can help me?
Thank you
the recovery (twrp / orangefox / redwolf) can change Fs only to given formates! and i don't think so f2fs is one of them!
but
it seems like you are having encryption error!
boot in to recovery via fastboot! fastboot boot recovery.img and press enter! once you are in recovery! , format DATA type YES and go ahead , and then change ext4 to exFat and then back to ext4. then Wipe /data /system /cache /vendor partitions... ,, now flash LinageOS (even if you are not going to use it) after Linage OS is flashed, simply boot and use for few mins! ,,, not go back to recovery! wipe partition and FLASH ROM as per your wishes, flash GAPPS and Magisk (if you want root)
recomeded OREO roms
1. Resurrection Remix 6.2
2. AeX
3. AOSiP
4. BOOTLEGGERS
5. DOT OS 2.5
for PIE
1. Pixel Experience (Gapps are included)
2. Cr Droid 5
3. AOSCP pie Extended

Impossible with the official twrp, fstab doesn't support f2fs as you can see here.
Thanks!
I've opened an isue in the developer's git, we'll see if we're lucky.
Edit: @Xatu2 https://github.com/Ankit-Gourav/android_device_xiaomi_whyred/issues/1
So, in base to answers on GitHub ,for use th file system F2FS i need to use twrp 3.2.3-0 and next tray to install a ROM with a kernel that support F2FS, yes?

there is still no rom support f2fs so you cant change to f2fs, it get error 7 when you try to flash these roms
I correct it for a moment, I recently tried to flesh the last stable twrp(3.2.3-0) and all the backup features go perfectly.
I subsequently tried to format all the sectors with file system f2fs and I tried to install the last extended AOSP obtaining the error you said only on the system partition(error 7, but i have an idea for solv it..i think).
I restored the system partition to the ext4 format, I tried to run the flash again, not getting errors and getting the ROM working BUT it's block on boot animation...i don't know why...
Perfect no (?)
When i install any ROM my phone is stuck on boot animation, even on stock.
Before flashing process end i got message: detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system
then i got: Script succeed: result was 1.00000 and everything ends and when i reboot i'm getting stuck on bootloop, ive tried many versions of TWRP and roms and nothing help. Mounting system doesnt help. Please, help me.
Everytime when i flash the ROM the system filesystem changes to EXT4
you do know that the system file system has to be ext4 on most cases if you want to use a custom rom?..
WHEN MOVING TO CUSTOM ROMS NOW:
1. Boot to twrp. (Make sure it is pietwrp from telegram or the official 3.2.3 or later version)
2. Select WIPE menu option
3. Select data partition
4. Change file format to f2fs or anyother.
5. Go back to Start Menu of TWRP, choose Reboot Menu Option
6.Reboot to Recovery
7. Repeat Steps 2 and 3
8. This time select EXT4 when changing file format
9. Do Step 5 and 6
10. Wipe System,Cache and Dalvik-Cache partitions
(not needed anymore: 10.1 If you're on official twrp, you have to flash pietwrp now if you're going to use a pie Custom Rom.!)
11. Flash your Custom Rom, Gapps (optional) and latest Magisk(optional)
12. Wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache
13. Reboot. First Boot might take a few minutes but never longer than 7minutes.
If it takes longer, you're encountering a so called bootloop.
Comment hear if that happens, containing information on your twrp-version, rom, gapps, magisk and mods(if present) you're using.
I'm using Orangefox Recovery latest stable
Steps:
1. Download recovery rom
2. Boot into recovery mode
3. Flash the recovery rom
4. Reboot recovery(Don't reboot system after flashing the rom because it causes bootloop for some reasons)
5. After rebooting recovery, reboot system.
Note: I think this method also working in other devices with an A/B partition and Clear dalvik-cache is optional.
