Question Fingerprint in apps but not on lockscreen? - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi all,
My banking app does support using a fingerprint, but it will only work if I also use it on the lockscreen. However, I do not want a lock on my lockscreen (I just want to 'swipe' my lockscreen without any code or password). I'm currently rooted on OOS 11, is there any way to achieve this?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Paul

There is not a banking app in this world that doesn't require either a passcode, password or fingerprint. However you do not need to enable Fingerprint in any banking app I ever used, it is optional. You do need a passcode or password for obvious reasons.

Ah I don't think I explained it well. Indeed my bank app requires a pincode for me, however I would like to use my fingerprint, but that's not possible since I don't have one set up in my phone. If I set up a fingerprint, I always need to unlock my phone with my fingerprint which I don't like. I understand and want my banking apps to ask for some kind of password of course

Yeah I just tried disabling passcode for lockscreen and it states it will remove all fingerprints as well. So it looks like the way you would like will not work. Remember you can always swipe up on lockscreen bypassing fingerprint and instead put in passcode/password. You can set up fingerprints however you do not have to use them.

[Q] Lockscreen Bypass

I heard a while ago there would be a way to bypass your lockscreen if your moto 360 is connected. Is there a way to do this through a 3rd party or root?
It's built- in in lollipop...

You can do it with "Tasker" and "Secure Settings" also, Got it running on mine.
If u have xposed framework. Install no lock home. Works with fingerprint scanner too.

Thanks, I'll have to check that one out. Here's the XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-lock-home-v0-1-wifi-unlock-t2799087
Dislock (formerly Pebble Locker) from the Play Store also works. It only supports one device and does not support any lock other than pin or password, but it's free. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukekorth.pebblelocker.
"Wear Unlock" in the app store does the job, works fine for the rest of us not on lollipop yet.

Nexus imprint 3rd party apps

Is there any app that lets you use the fingerprint scanner to lock 3rd party apps??
Well, Dashlane supports the Imprint to unlock your saved stuff in the app.
Evolve SMS and robinhood
I second Robinhood, works great.
Enpass. You still need to enter password to unlock the first time. But you can then use Imprint to unlock after that.
I'm talking about locking apps like my bank app Etc.

Ability to use Fingerprint only to unlock apps?

Is it possible to use the fingerprint to quickly unlock apps, but no the phone? I'd prefer to use a pattern only to unlock the device.
Hey,
Check this one :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getkeepsafe.applock
Works fine for me

I use MaxLock which allows you to unlock apps with Fingerprint. The problem is for apps like Lasptass for example. Fingerprint unlock won't work unless you also unlock the phone via fingerprint.
I use the free version of App Locker and like it. The pro version removes ads and I plan to do that eventually.

[Q] Use Fingerprint just to unlock apps but not phone - not possible?

Hi!
Can't figure this out.
Want to unlock certain apps (Amex, Bank) via fingerprint , but don't want it for unlocking phone (just swipe is enough for me).
Is this not possible???
Thank you!!

It is possible, just download any 3rd party app locker. Most of them come with finger print support.
Not the safest option out there but Be sure to lock settings as well because someone can easily uninstall the app from app manager.
Thank you for your reply.
Maybe I did not explain myself well enough.
Some apps use the fingerprint mechanism to unlock themselves without password.
So let's say your bank app. Instead of putting the long password every time, and if the devs implemented it, you can LOGIN via fingerprint.
That's great.
The problem is that I don't see an option to disable fingerprint for unlocking the device while still using that for app login.
It works just like that on my iPhone. For some reason I either am missing something, or Android just won't allow you to do this.....

I'm getting your point. You don't want anything on your lock screen but passwords(or fingerprint) on your sensitive apps . Android doesn't natively supports it (maybe a custom ROM had this). If you can root and install Xposed (rooting can make some banking apps unusable), give max lock (Xposed module) a try. If you don't know what these are, I recommend you to rely on lockscreen (third party options aren't always safe)

[APP] All in One Gestures

Really a great gestures app to mimic iOS gestures. I use the navigation gestures option because I could not deal with the navigation bar not matching my keyboard. The gestures work pretty well and I got used to them, but I did not like the Back option. Too many times trying to go back ended up with me opening recents or going home.
I really wanted a gesture to swipe the screen from left to right to go back and this app allows me to. Works great with a few customization options. It was removed from the playstore but the apk can still be sideloaded

Thanks for sharing. IMHO The OnePlus gestures are the best I've tried on any phone. The more options there are, the better off we are.
Thanks for sharing, I love the Swype from the left to go back feature
Hey Guys, if you wan't, you can also try an app called 'Fooview', which is available in playstore (No need Root access) and its amazing, you can set the swipe option from right to left for back in this app as well. it also comes with a browser, file manager, and allow to take screen short of any specified portion on your screen. It will also help to convert the 'letters' in an image to edit/copy. The main advantage is it work with very less battery drain and comes with small in size. this is one of the best app I have ever used. and I'm using this for the last 2 Years. Just try it, it is amazing.
It's asking for some unusual permissions like location

Never mind, Ignore it. It will work perfectly.
I found both of these apps to be scetchy and not any good.
I rather sugest the app called Fluid Navigation Gesture on play store.
It gives you the Miui10 Navigations that work great without any overlay or stuff like that.

Yea, but this will work perfectly without giving the location permission. And this app is available in play-store, which is verified by the google, then will it be a malicious app ?

You'd be surprised but there are apps that are not checked more in-depth before being accepted on Play Store

There are many apps which get through the checks. Check the news, you'll find many articles about google removing app from the play store every now and then.
Even a seemingly trustworthy app can do a lot of harm. Even if the app is a bit sketchy its better to stay away from it.

I agree. I've tried damn near all the gesture apps but I keep going back to fooview. It's like 20 apps in one with an abundance of gesture options.

I find the navbar gestures severely lacking. Swipe from left or right edge up for back? On which planet? Ever tried this swipe on Chrome with a longish text loaded? All you get is a scroll back and not back. Or maybe I am misunderstanding the directions. How difficult is it to add a graphic to illustrate?
