[HOW-TO][Ver 6.12] Update GMaps (24/09)

HOW TO UPDATE GOOGLE MAPS:
I saw many pp ask about this and now I will type the guide here:
- Remove old version of Map
- Go to your /data/system
- Take the file "packages.xml" and copy to somewhere (sdcard, pc..etc)
- Open it wit NOtepad++ (on PC - recommend) and search then delete the line: <shared-user name="com.google.android.apps.maps".....>
- Copy the file back to its place and set permission rw-r-r
- Install this new signed version below as normal apk
- Done & Test

FAQ:
Q: Why I dont make a patch/update via updater?
A: Becoz it depends on your packages.xml and UserID
Q: Is there any other easy way?
A: I dont know Just found this way and it works for me. If u can find other easy way, pm me and I will update the guide.

I don't have the line you showed. I only have this one;

Should I delete this one instead?
When installing from market, it says this
"Incompatible with other applications using same shared user ID"

I think u should find: com.google.android.apps.maps =.=
Some users tested and it works so It's weird if it doesnt appear in your phone

what apps did you use to move the xml file?
also what app is use for changing chmod?

it contains all stock huawei apps from EMUI 4.0, 4.1 and 5.0 i.e. Nougat

Thanks. But how to install them. For example i tried "hw music.apk", it fails. I tried to change hw music.apk with this in system directory, but i didnt find it.
Can you give the ways how to install these apks.

you downloaded the apk file and tried to install? what exactly did it say during installation? make sure that you have allowed to install from unknown sources in - settings/advanced settings/security/install apps from unknown sources

Thanks for your reply.
Of course unknown source is enabled. when installing "Hw Music.apk", installer said "Goole Play Music" is installing. install failed. Reason for failure: The parser did not find any certificates in the installation package.

Is your rom already rooted?if you're rooted then you can use root explorer method

Good lock UI on galaxy M30

I have not been able to figure out how to install good lock ui. Neither the main app nor any of the plugins get installed.

Good lock UI does work only on pie , one ui os
u need to wait till next june and use it

Pie released now ,any method to install good lock modules. I am able to install app manually but modules are not getting installed

To instal modules u must use vpn to usa then format data of galaxy store then open the app u will find them available now

No, no modules are getting installed and its not a problem of region good lock is available in India. I have installed one hand operation+ and nice catch theough galaxy apps.

Good lock app is not installing and neither the modules except for one handed operation+ and nice catch
I got a confirmation from the samsung error reporting page that good lock is not supported on the device

The modules will not get installed as i have got a confirmation from a samsung representative that good lock is not supported on this device

I also tried the latest apks from apkmirror with my M30 (running Pie) and got the "app not installed" error. I guess they are still not supported on this device. Anybody else have better luck?

There is a way to install good lock modules on m Series. Those modules can be installed but not working properly. Some modules get Crash and some like task changer can open successfully but can't be enabled.
How i do install Good lock modules on m series device.
First Download Apk Editor from apkMirror(Dont download it from google play)
After install Apk Editor and open it and select (lets say.....) task changer.apk
and then just rebuild the app. (This can be found on Storage/Apk Editor folder).
then install it. then install nice lock to see those installed plugins.
You can try that method and I tried but it not working. Task changer not crash but it cant be enabled. I think its some kind of permission error. those permissions cant be enabled. So some of XDA Developer is made that work please let me know also.
I also noticed All Samsung M series Devices has Samsung One UI Core and Others has Samsung One UI Version. Those are different platforms. No Knox, No Secure Folder, No Bixby, No Goodlock aps.

Using lucky patcher, rebuild the apk with "resign with test signture" option. By this, you can install almost any apk but make sure the app is not already installed as system app (in that case, it won't install). Samsung Daily beta, App booster, Clock face, Dictionary app working by this method.
For app booster: use quick shortcut maker from play store or install galaxy labs apk using same resigning method).

[GUIDE] No ROOT. Both beta and Official Apps installed. Change watchfaces.

EDITED: NOT WORKING DUE TO HUAWEI MOBILE SERVICES BLOCKING ACCESS TO CLONED APP
Guide to have official Huawei Health installed as main app and Huawei Health Beta as app to change watchfaces. Both installed at the same time on the same device.
Tested in G9700, Galaxy S10e, Android 9. NO ROOT.
(1) Uninstall Huawei Health app if you have a previous installation.
(2) Install Huawei Health Beta, version 10.0.1.021-wearBeta.

Open the app, create a new Huawei ID, region China (mandatory), a reachable email and a phone number, no matter the country. A code will be sent to this number to verify the account. You can use one number from here. https://sms-receive.net/
(3) You will be prompted to install Huawei Mobile Services from Play Store. Do it. Do not update the Beta to newer versions. In this beta app you can change watchfaces, but the one you install will remove the previous. So far it is not possible to have more than one watchface in your device.
(4) Link your watch. Disable auto syncronize and notifications to avoid conflicts with official app.
(4) Install App Cloner. https://appcloner.app/
(5) Run the app. Clone Huawei Heath Beta and install it. Select "Show system Apps" and clone Huawei Mobile Services, then install. No special options, just clone and install both of them.
(6) Uninstall Beta. Install oficial Huawei Health from Play Store. Login with your main mail and phone number. This will be your daily account.
Done. Both apps working on the same device. One for the daily usage, the beta for changing watchfaces.

Done it but it doesn't work. I have huawei mate 20 pro and it doesn't ask me to install mobile services because I already have them. Other than that, I have done everything as described. Even verify it with Chinese number. Only thing that looks strange to me is that even though I have registered new account and verified it whit Chinese number and set region to china when I go to help it give sme Norwegian call center (I'm from Norway) so I assume it takes some data from other sources / apps of my phone not just those I provided during registration. It probably should work if I delete all data from system apps on my phone?
Edit: cleared cache on all huawei system apps, installed again and verified again and worked 2x and then I got unable to install watch face. And then lost that option to install new watch face. And then I tried everything and nothing worked and then I just updated app through app itself and I got watch face store so now I have a lot of faces in recommended side that I can install just with one click works fine, some of them are paid, but still lot of free.

I guess it should work regardless of having GT/GT2?

It should, but haven't tried.

Cant get this to work on note 10 with android 10. The clone does not start at all....

Go to accessibility and then under downloaded services give permission to app cloner install service. This helped me a little bit.

After some tried, I can open Health clone app but still stuck at this screen after choose China region

I believe that's problem with that huawei mobile services app. Try to clone it again, or try some different settings. If it get some recommendations while making clone, try yo do it.

Thx for the idea but it seems not double. Indeed i can duplicate the beta then install oficial but in beta then I get only the Chinese store and can't get install section after all that I tried. It works in secure folder but only if I have beta running also on main. Opened to new ideas at the moment
Update: and I can't get normal themes section loading on main app if I keep beta in secure folder

I appreciate the help but still a no go for me. The app you added is not supporting my gt 2 and in the end I get back to updating it . At this moment I am out of ideas even with Samsung's secure folder help, only switch back and forth . Shouldn't this be easy to develop in a custom app only to upload faces?

I've updated my watch faces, but my notifications don't work anymore. Any solution?

Done all of that on Samsung S9+ Android 9 no root, but cloned Health keeps crashing. any advice?

Question Twin Apps Not Working

Hi, I can't speak English, so I'm using Google translator. Sorry if there are any wrong words.
My Rog 6 is the tencent version with the Global room, it came with version WW-32.2810.2206.95 since then the Twin Apps never worked, I updated the device to version WW-32.2810.2206.97 and it still didn't get the app. I updated to version WW-32.2810.2207.134 and it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

2.Find out the app package name that you want to add , As the example from the tutorial, they choose "GoShare" as an example, you can check its package name from the website version Google play, the hyperlink after "id=" is its' package name.
For Example "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gogoro.goshare"
"com.gogoro.goshare" is the package name.
3.Edit the downloaded twinapps.xml. Find out this string from the file "<string-array name="twinapps_required_apps">" (for apps)
or <string-array name="twinapps_required_apps_games">(for games). Added <item></item> in the front and after the package name. For example if you want to add "Goshare" in the app list, it should be<item>com.gogoro.goshare</item>. Add it after <item>com.imo.android.imoim|imo free video calls and chat</item>. And Save the file.
4 Connect your phone to your pc and use adb to push the edited twinapps.xml into your phone adb push twinapps.xml /sdcard/.
5 After pushed the xml file to your file, use this command to update the twinapps list
adb shell am startservice -a "asus.intent.action.TWINAPPS_CDN_FILE_UPDATE" -d "file:///sdcard/twinapps.xml" --ei "ACTION" 1 com.asus.twinapps/.TwinAppsService.

Yes, I followed all the steps. I downloaded the file, edited it, passed the cmd to the cell phone and gave the update command. Apparently the update command worked, but still nothing appears in Twin Apps.

It works for me on ROG 3 - I don't have ROG 6 yet, sorry.
Do you have any Apps successfully "Twinned"?
If yes, can you view/ edit the relevant .xml file. Where is it located?

I do not have any. As I showed in the image of my first message. No apps appear available. Yeah, I didn't even want many Apps, just WhatsApp.

Yes, I installed the version that the seller of aliexpress sent me and updated it on my cell phone to the latest version released on the Asus website, and now it's working normally.
