Hi all! I just got my brand new POCO F3 phone and I am very excited! Overall I feel like it is a pretty good phone. I want to flash a custom ROM on it and I wanted to know what is the best AOSP ROM available? What is the most stable, has the best features and most supported? I feel like trying out LineageOS but wanted to know if there are better options.
There are so many custom ROMs that it is hard to find the best, even with special needs. The best way to find out is to try yourself the one you think could fit you the most.
From my experience, here is a list of the AOSP ROMs that are pretty good, with what I find good and/or bad.
ArrowOS, is for me the most stable, very good performance and battery life, but there is a lack of features for me.
evolutionX is the one I use right now, and it is the best fit for me, with great performance and battery life (clearly not the best), but there are all the features that fulfill my needs.
HavocOS is clearly a good option, with great stability, performance and features. But when I tried it I was getting freezes, I think it is fixed now. From what I see, it is one of the best, but not very supported on xda, more on their telegram group.
crDroid, I tested it when it was early because it was one of the first to come out. There are many features, but it is not the one for me, as it is more AOSP than pixel feel,. Great support here on xda as arrowOS.
SyberiaOS, is also great with support, performance and battery. But not the one I was searching for.
DotOs is also great if you're searching for a new look.
These are the one I tested the most and feel like giving my opinion, but there is many more (ShapeShift, Pixel extended, PixelPlusUI, LOS of course, AOSIP, AICP, DerpFest, POSP, octaviOS, protonAOSP, HentaiOS (which is loved but here on xda), Saprk, DescendantOS, Nusantara, OctaviOS, cherish, Derpfest, StagOS, etc and of course all the MIUI based ones) some of them are not on xda which is a bummer.
I advise you to sort out, the one you'd like to try, and then try them until you find the one that fit you, that can still be changed later with new ROMs...
So many things to say, even for me, it's so hard to find out...
Most of the roms today are very stables..
Hope I helped
Always here if you have questions
i will choose crdroid ,most stable ,frequently update ,plus it has all the feature that needed.
but still , theres a few disadvantages like fps drop in several games , meh camera ,high latency in wireless earbuds etc..
for now ,im using miui oneos for daily driver .
HentaiOS, Clean Google Pixel experience and a good battery backup.
Arrow os, cr droid, syberia, dot Os and havoc are the most stable

I really like this Dev, I've paid for Naptime and Servicely and thinking of getting Franco Kernel just for battery monitor. Do you think it is better than GSAM?

Have you fixed GPS? Have been using this for 2 weeks and battery drain is perfect. Some wrong translations with the German language but generally free of bugs. Camera works very well, though no HDR and stuff. Besides the official Meizu team is supposed to be working on a Flyme 4-based update (presumably more features) and this (Flyme 3.8.4) would be abandoned. Again this UI is aimed at a non-Android experience with many differences when it comes to details (e. g. tapping the notification bar brings the list/page back to the top as in iOS).
By the way although it's rarely the case, the original ROM should also work on F320. No report from the official forum for support of D800/1/3 but I'd doubt if it's D802 only.

It's actually that short on lollipop? I'm posting from this ROM currently (you'd notice from the CM-style signature). This ROM is CM-based with heavily modified system frameworks, so battery life is ideal and I'd say far better than stock JB and better than stock KK which I was on before, plus very smooth animation.

Battery drain is perfect. I test this Rom with battery use and idle more than 4,5 days. Also GPS and orientation is fixed.
This day i have trouble by packing the rom into a ZIP. Trouble by twrp installing.
I think i will roll out this as it is ( twrp backup), maybe this evening

I'm on this build. It's pretty stable, I've had a few random reboots, but nothing major. I switched from Omni, where i was getting constant freezing / reboots (although that is supposed to be fixed now). Performance and battery are on par with Omni.

Just flashed the 04-14-17 RC build and loving it! I got my robin and updated to the 7.0 firmware and then went straight to this. I was so excited I even made a batch file to make the bootloader unlock process and twrp flash automatic from my p.c a day before hand
I've got to say the experience I've had with this ROM and this device so far is just amazing. The colors of the device match and blend with many ui elements if you set it up correctly.
It would be neat to see the four led lights get used for battery level indication on the robin while charging. I.e 1 lit up led represents 25% battery level and so on. Just an idea :3
Which Gapps are recommneded ?
Hello,
I am currently running th offical v11.3 - 7.1.2 build & Bean Gapps, everthing is smooth & awesome, just have one problem, I keep getting "Google Play Service has stopped errors" Also while listing to music on Google Play, then phone has random rebooted every single time. Has anyone faced this yet ?
Yes i have. Only thing is that du is currently unsupported as the maintainer has smashed their device. I would recommend Omni ROM as a superb alternative

I find this forum is not able to support Chinese well, so I have to use machine to translate them to communicate with you. My machine uses Chinese version firmware, version 1642, I heard they have different partitions. But there are also some overseas and Chinese version of Flyme OS in China's forum. So I want to ask if this can be used to brush with Chinese firmware. If not, I have to use the 9008 brush of Qualcomm to brush the firmware of the international version, and brush the domestic baseband file. This means that it will waste a lot of time. But I like this ROM very much, because its experience is very good. My oneplue2 is using this ROM, the camera question you mentioned, the result of my translation software is not clear, can I use the open source camera instead of it? I hope this project will not be updated only once like Los. I'll try something for a while。
I'm using the Chinese version of twrp. Can you give me an international version of it, because I met this for the first time.
I'm very grateful to you for making this ROM
He looked perfect, yes, I successfully brushed and didn't find any bug. But gapps looks a little bit less. But I still want to line brush again, because I am the speaker after the upgrade to mokee7.12 began broken sound, upgrade to pixel experience is still broken sound, thank you very much, hope can be customized with a revised resolution, because in mokee, how to modify the dpi resolution and there are still some problems
i like it very much
Looks nice but phone app(com.android.phone) is crashing constantly - this is the main problem. Some problems with connecting to hidden WiFi - takes a lot of time. (my phone is ROW) - flashed on wiped device to be sure.
when i take photo ,this device is crash

Dear Frantisheq, thank you for your hard work to support our beloved phone. This is potentially pleasant firmware. It has a lot of exciting features, smooth scrolling and beautiful design.
Unfortunately double tap on home button doesn't work. GPS absolutely doesn't work too. A little battery drain is present. Trying to restore Google backup of my previously installed apps leads to cycling reboot.
thanks to everybody. yes camera has problems, GPS doesn't work at all and one CPU kernel just won't go under 1.5GHz, we are trying to fix it.
good news is my latest build I'm testing is i dare to say smooth as stock 4.4, hopefully not because of that 1.5GHz always on

Yes, I found this problem, maybe the kernel problem, which makes me feel more charged when I use this ROM. I spend 14% of my energy on standby. The camera has some bug. The camera is good and bad. When I brush into the onepplus5 camera, I find it will crash in addition to photography. The rest are perfect. The camera that you bring is often unable to process a picture completely. After you finish the photo, you will often get some semi-finished products. But I still want the author to be able to add resolution modification, because after I modify my own resolution, there will be some small bug in the background task.
Congratulations Frantisheq! I am going to try with dual boot patcher.
while testing.
double tap at home not working
charging not working while cellphone is off
wifi random disconnects
cellular data needs to toggle again to work again (maybe after connecting to other cellular tower when your in commute)
While calling Echo is coming.... Any solution?

Yeah you are right, fixed this now
I have been using it for a bit more than a week and I can say the performance is very good, much snappier than other roms and also than stock, but the battery usage is being around 3.6%/h screen off.
I guess thats the tradeoff for good performance, I have some background apps that use bluetooth maybe thats the reason.
please let me know if this is normal.
thanks
The Rom is excellent but a battery sipper, anyhow everything is working fine except sometimes in high demanding games there is a screen tearing that keeps happening and it's fixed by going to the home screen and then coming back to the game.

I havent tested this but It could be due to overheating?, have you tried the new GPU drivers from magisk?
Hi! I've been using it like a week, I found these bugs:
-Gestures Navbar can't be used when you use a custom resolution (via dpichanger)
-Sometimes when trying to pull notifications bar from the left side it won't open (in normal resolution)
-Some notifications won't open at all (photo below)
-Camera can't record
I know it's a beta and don't complain, just wanted to notify if you didn't know about one of these.

hola Jose, I havent notice any of these issues, maybe is related to changing the resolution back and forth, and for the camera, it also does work well, altought i was unable to make the motocamera2 working. the one included worts fine.
I recommend you to do a factory reset or reinstall and try to reproduce the issues before using the dpi changer for the first time.

on stock mine lasted 18 hours normal usage, and while using this one it lasted about 12 or less hours,
so its about one third less of battery life.
but the performance is much much better than stock. you will be really impressed. 3d mark score is 98% better than all other motorola ones in the world.
Hello, so the ROM is very, very good, the performance is excellent and the battery usage has improved a lot, I wanted to report a bug that is: the system does not recognize the PS4 control, it connects either via bluetooth or via otg but no it works, and gamepad setup apps don't recognize the controller either. Other than that, it's excellent. (sorry my english, i'm using google translator).

The rom works great and it's very smooth but i found a bug.

Awesome work regardless!
Hello; when charging the battery with the device off, the screen remains on all the time and does not show the percentage of charge, only the flash icon.

The system interface is the same as on the rest of the A12/L, but feels much smoother and more stable than the others. also got excellent autonomy with the help of the r20b1 kernel from arter97

Currently boosting Nameless. Gonna try Proton when I get to my PC. Have you had a crash dump? Or overheating when gaming, if you play that is?

Which ROM is running cool while maintaining performance while gaming?
The source of the heat is not the ROM, but the SOC itself. No matter what ROM you use, SD888 will produce tons of heat while gaming heavily, or playing some demanding games.

Yes, exactly. I have a game i play a lot too and temp rises to 42⁰C/108⁰F in minutes. 8 found out the big cores go on full speed while game launches. I'm trying to mitigate the heat using a cpu manager valled 3C Toolbox (it's a bit old but works) it takes a bit longer for the phone to reach that temp but still, not a perfect solution.
I'm on crdroid rn, but other roms behaved the same. I'm planning on starting over from scratch and try arter kernel. I hope it works.
Also, this model seems to have had production problems. Some devices have no problem at all even running on stovk oos, while others have stutters and others have qualcomm crashes. It's like a russian roulette of problems... I regret buying it to be honest.
Rly n1ce Rom ...one of the best ...I hope it will be updated often ....thanks ....4 this Rom
update ...
. still awesome rom ... the update is really cool but I don't have a fingerprint .... but I had problems with my cell phone it can also be that it's because of my one plus 9 pro
