Xiaomi Redmi note 7 update issues - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

I got problems using Google apps with my Redmi note 7 since I've downloaded the latest version update. How can I possibly fix it ? Thank you !

If your phone is bought from China, I would tell you Xiaomi is purposely banning Google apps in China via miui updates.
You cannot downgrade your phone's OS as that will hard brick your device to an unfixable state.
So you will need to unlock bootloader via mi unlock, and flash a custom ROM(basically a customized android operating system).
If your phone is bought outside China try backup and factory resetting your device.

Redmi note 8 pro brick

Hello everyone! I hope and everyone is well in this quarantine, the topic of this post is the following. I have a Redmi Note 8 PRO the Chinese version to be exact and a few days ago I was on Android 10 global version with the bootloader unlocked and so far without problems, it happens that due to ignorance I use the tool of my flash to block the bootloader and go down to Android 9 global at the same time when after my cell phone was brick is that I informed myself of the issue that I could not block it since it is the Chinese version and now I do not know how to recover it because when I try to use my flash to flash an official ROM from China it puts a error "crlist error" something I do not understand, and the biggest problem is that I have the locked bootloader and I cannot unlock it because when I was going to flash the device had removed my Xiaomi account. Please if someone knows a solution for my case I would be eternally grateful to you.

Find somebody with an UFI Box. Have them flash the phone remotely. It's not always 100% successful though.
Boot with a spare hard drive or computer. They log in via TeamViewer and install all their files. This includes mods to the registry, unsigned drivers and disabling your Windows Security. But that is the only way to make the box and flash software work.

Redmi note 8 pro bricked with locked bootloader

I got a Redmi note 8 pro from online shop, when I was trying to flash new rom via twrp with Android 10, but I accidentally flashed Android 9, thus my phone was hard bricked.
Without recovery or fastboot, I went to a xiaomi center, but they told me they cannot flash a Chinese phone (Again, I got it from online shop), but they saved my fastboot mode with locked bootloader (but don't save system or recovery mode). Is there any way bypass bootloader to flash full rom? Or flash from DA mode without authorized account?
Please help me.
If you had mi account on device, you can unlock it and then flash it via mi flash tool. If you had not mi account on it, pay for online services that you trust, they will fix it.

Can I flash another region ROM?

I have the IDXM version of the phone and it's still on miui 12.0.1.0
Is it possible to flash the EEA version or will it bootloop?
Yes, but don't lock bootloader. If you lock it chances are it will brick your device, as it did on previous phones... So choose clean all option in miflash, not clean & lock!
I bought the EEA version of the phone but wanted the Global version .
This morning I used the Mi Tool v2 to convert to Global with no issues,
It even works on locked bootloader,
The tool is quite intuitive and lets you convert to all different regions.
I believe you only run into issues with Chinese phones and ROMs but could be wrong.
It did stop at 4.99% for a while when applying the ROM but after few mins it flew.
You also need to back up your data as it will be lost

Worked for me on Redmi Note 10S. But maan, was it scary... It got stuck on 5% as yours but also the pushed file size went past 100%, resulting in negative 300s ETA...
Having had bricked devices using only stock utilities (and not even unlocking BL), that scared the crap out of me.
Also it gave en error after the process actually finished (at 6,7GB out of 2,4), but the phone was already running global version of MIUI just fine.

Mi 10t Pro stuck at Android 10 and MIUI 12

Hi I bought Mi 10t Pro 256gb global version last year and I didn't update it, because of due to some problems mentioned by users. Now I want to update it and there is update found. My phone stuck at 12.0.11.0.QJDMIXM version.
Bootloader is locked and I can't open because the phone is not getting mobile network. I can't flash fastboot because of this.
How can I update it?

Question Redmi Pad - was sold with unlocked bootloader

Hi there, please be gentle with me, I'm not especially software savvy but am seeking help before I make a big mistake!
I bought a Redmi Pad from ebay (lesson learned) which has arrived with an unlocked bootloader. The device is labelled as a 22081283G running MIUI Pad Global 13.1.4, Android version 12 SP1A.210812.016. I can't install certain apps as Google Play says it isn't Play Protected, which a quick search suggests is because the bootloader is unlocked (which I saw from an unlocked padlock symbol when rebooting)? Is there a simple way to 'relock' the bootloader and return it to being able to install apps like Netflix from the Play store? If not, it's going back for a refund which would be a shame as it's otherwise a gorgeous device. Am nervous about attempting anything complex in case I brick it - the first post I hit when searching around this issue suggested relocking the bootloader could do this.
Many, many thanks in advance for any advice!
Install platform tools on a laptop or pc, then shut down your device. Boot up it while holding volume down, then use fastboot.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
OR
fastboot flashing lock
try both of these, one should work. This will wipe all data. Then just boot up.
Hi! Thanks for the assist. Would I risk encountering the issue posted here? This is the post that got me nervous that re-locking could inadvertently brick the device?

Okay, what I think happened to them is their device did not have stock firmware. That would make it brick. Google and find your devices stock firmware, flash it, then lock.
I'm sorry, I don't know how to flash firmware. The tablet shows a version that I think is the firmware, as "13.1.4.0(SLYEUXM)". This appears to correspond to a version I found here:
Redmi Pad ROM Download: latest update MIUI 14, Android 13
Download Redmi Pad yunluo firmware & flash file from official website. Latest MIUI 14 and Android 13 update for 22081283G (Global), 22081283C (China)
miuirom.org
Does that mean I'm already on stock firmware?
Try to accept a software update if there are any.
Have updated everything it will let me update. How do I conclusively tell if I'm running stock firmware?
If you can install a official OTA update, you are stock.

Hello.
I see you said it could brick your device. I mean, yes, it's possible but if nothing was modified nothing should happen. Anyway, if you want to be completly safe, use the Mi Flash Tool and download th Fastboot ROM. Choose Clean all and lock and you should be good to go.
