Has anyone got warp charge 30 / 30w charging to work on their 9 pro? When I look at the charge speed using #8008 and logging the charge current with the screen off I never get over 1.2A or 1200ma. That is with the car charger and wall charger from one plus. My 65w charger will charge over 6A fine with the screen off. I tested the 30w chargers on my oneplus 7 pro and they work fine. I also noticed if I use a charger designed for PD my phone will charge at 2.0A / 2000ma. I find it strange the phone won't work in backwards compatibility. I actually get faster charging from my oneplus 5t charger that was only rated at 3.5A.
If anyone has a solution please let me know.
Because warp charge 30 can only negotiate up to the max of 5v. The warp charge 65 is 10 volts. The 9 pro phone uses a split cell battery which effectively splits and halves the incoming voltage and amperage for each cell so 10 volts become 5 volts each which would explain the much less than ideal charging speed.
Coincidentally USB-PD also can negotiate higher output voltage (I believe 9 volts) hence the compatibility to work with them.

I had considered the the 5v vs 10v but I thought one plus had mentioned the phone was fully backwards compatible. I really need to find a car charger that can charge the phone fast. I thought about buying the 50w OPPO charger but I cannot find one from any reputable place or even oppos site for sale. Right now I use my inverter in my work truck. If I could actually charger at 30w that would be fine for my needs but when using hotspot or GPS the phone doesn't even charge much at all when it only draws 1.2A. It takes multiple hours to charge 50% at that speed.

Never on the specs on the official product page for the warp 30 charger states it works with the 9 pro. Just settle on any 45+ watt usb-pd adapter and it'll get pretty close to warp 30 charger's max speed which would get you topped off in roughly an hour or more. Save yourself the headache and be grateful that's even an option as past OnePlus phones would only cap at 5 watts on any non OnePlus fastchargers.
PS, I wouldn't trust any marketing fluff coming from OnePlus as of late, they've been clickbaity and false hype inducing with bold but cleverly misworded claims since the inception of the 8 series and has been going downhill from there. My 9 pro is likely going to be my last OnePlus and likely last forray with android phones as a whole.
On the other hand..., wireless warp charger 30w from OnePlus 8 Pro works fine on my OnePlus 9 Pro.
I use it untill i got my 50w warp charger.

the touchpad charger is rated at 2A max output and it charges the phone FAST.
around 5% in 10 minutes. so full charge in 3 hr and 15 minutes.

(eBay) I'll assume its around 550 mAh-650 mAh.
I was using an Apple iPhone 4 charger (1A) before on my Nexus S as it was faster than the oem as well.
I picked up the HP chargers at Staples on clearance (obviously) for like $8.
I use the same time charger, and I see no negative effects. Your better off using it rather than some ebay knockoff.

3hrs 15 minutes means it is charging the phone at a rate of approximately 600ma/hr (1875mah battery /600 mah charge rate = 3.13 hrs) which is exactly as it should be. Phone will not charge at more than 600-700mah no matter what the charger outputs so you have "power to spare" (but not power to use). So it is perfecly fine. You could use a 100AMP charger if you wanted since the phone will only "take" what it was designed to take. Charge rate is current limited by the chipset in the phone + the kernel for protection. If it were using the full 2amps it would fully charge from ZERO to FULL in around 50 minutes then probably explode.

are they not in the 500-600 mAh range? when i first got my phone the battery was dead drained. too more than 8 hrs to get full. this was with my Nexus S charger.
I'm not saying the phone is drawing a full 2A of current, but im sure the higher rating doesn't hurt. realistically that's the MAX peak this charger can pump out. Real world, usage, it probably barely breaks 1A on any given day.
on a related note, i KNOW USB cable quality and length play a big role in charging speed.
using an extension USB cable, or cheap one, can easily DOUBLE the charging time.

Good question. The output rating of a charger is rated when it is NOT UNDER LOAD. When you put it under load output drops. A 2amp (2000mah) charger under load will drop as well but maybe to 1500 or even 1000mills. The 1000mills is still above the max charge rate of the device and will of course charge it faster than the 500mill charger when it drops to maybe 400mills.
If it took 8hrs either the charger was defective (low output) or way over rated or something else was at play. Also manufacturers will want to charge as slow as possible to avoid overheating or even fires or explosions.
I have a 120amp 12vdc power supply that I used to use for a 300 watt ham radio amplifier which is hooked up to a multiple cig lighter adapter socket which I use to charge my various multiple devices (iPad 2, 2 cellphones and a couple BT earpieces). I use 3 Scoche 2.5amp output USB cig adapters and the most the phone draws is around 600mah (again, not accurate but reference).
The only way to test is to put a meter across it while charging and see how much current is being pulled. The ATT Galaxy S2 was tested that way and was pulling less than 650mills with a high output rated charger.
I am looking to purchase an extra 18W charger, North American variant.
Is it available for purchase anywhere?
The only 18W charger I could find on Asus' store mentions being a notebook charger.
But it appears to be identical.
Having used OnePlus phones, I do miss how easy it was to purchase accessories on their website...

Whats. The difference in quick charge 3 and 4 as far as speeds? The 5z had a 18w qc3 charger and the Zenfone 6 has a 18w qc4 charger..would the qc3 charge slower ?

I guess the original charger will be faster. Can you try and compare it?
I compared the two.
Note, that, presumably, because the OEM charger does not go up the maximum 20V of QC4 (only 9V) it is not actually a certified QC4 charger, despite using the standard.
Also, the power rating for QC4 isn't actually higher than QC3, it merely has finer voltage control, allowing for better efficiency.
Sidenote, funnily enough, my QC3 charger is two thirds the size of the ASUS downgraded QC4 charger...
I used ampere to measure current at 50% charge.
That said, I used a QC3 charger from my previous Mi Max 2, it definitely got picked up by the Zenfone 6, showing the two plusses in the battery icon. It reached a max current of 2.5A
The OEM charger reached a stable 3A.
A difference is certainly there, but my guess is it won't actually be THAT significant in the real world. Personally I always use two chargers, the OEM for fast topping up, when needed. And another really "crappy" (0.8A smartwatch charger) for overnight charging so that the majority of the charging I do stresses the battery as little as possible. No matter what Qualcomm likes to tell you, fast charging definitely shortens the lifespan of a battery, so while convenient, it's good to do it as little as possible.
If you REALLY want the fastest possible results, try and find a QC4 charger. Only a few actually exist to buy right now.
Otherwise you can get a QC3 charger, there are TONS of those, and you can actually get the pretty cheap too. You'll only lose 0.5A anyway.
You could probably also use a USB PD 3.0 charger, as QC4 is able to negotiate voltages with it as if it were a fully supported QC charger.
Edit. Tried charging with both from 55% to 71% (It just happened to be where I was at with one charger, then used a battery drainer to do the exact same charge).
The QC3 charger was one minute slower at 16 minutes, while the OEM did it in 15 minutes.
Is it just me or is there no 55W Charger to buy from 3. party manufacturers? I find adapters with the same output but 36W and QC3.0.
Official adapter is not that expensive but shipping costs around 10 Euro for me... That's almost the same as the adapter itself.

Charging is capped to 25w (roughly) when using third party chargers (including PPS).
In a few days I'll have logs/charts I'll be sharing to show the difference in charging speeds and the actual RM5 charging speed - as it isn't 55w.

Be sure to check that usb3 shape is capped to 25 or 30w and the usb c is capped to 60 W

Measuring charging wattage shows a maximum of 30W pulled from the charger, not once has it reached 55w.
Third party chargers reach 27w max, including PPS.
I've got all sorts of chargers here, PD/QC4+/QC3.0 ranging up to 60W.
The original Nubia charger not only charges the fastest, but also keeps the phone much cooler.
Third party chargers seem to warm the device that much more to the point that sometimes thermal throttling kicks in.

And yes, it's capped. I get like 5400 mA / 4300 mV charge speed with an third part app that measures the speed.
If they said that the phone has 55W charge and I got roughly 25W, that's false advertising, isn't it?
Even the original one doesn't seem to charge that fast!

I am posting this here since there are more users active that can share their knowledge and as far as I can read we have the same HW.
USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging- 25W support.
It comes in the box with a 15W.
I want to use it with my HTC QC 3.0 charger. HTC deviated fron the QC standard for their lineup but I haven't had any issues charging multiple devices.
As far as I know it's not OK or recommended to go above 3000 mA when charging. I always check chargers and cables (Type-C) to be sure I don't fry my ports or phones. I use the Ampere App on the Playstore.
Using the HTC QC 3.0 charger and HTC cable -I get. 3100 mA and 4.1V. I don't have the Samsung charger with me to test right now but it's the slower. These value go down as heat or % go up.
Are these values normal?
The phone's power controller won't allow excess current and actively regulates it when fast charging. If too cold it will default to slow charging in order to help protect the battery.

Thanks for your response. When I said i know it's not recommended to go above 3000 mA I was thinking of my experience with SD QC. I am not talking about OnePlus Dash Charge or other simillar custom solutions. Trying to figure out the PD 3.0 standard now. All my cables are good.

It's a mess. With Samsung the easiest way is to use their 25 watt brick and approved cable.
I may be wrong but don't think fast charging will not work with any power source; the phone controller actively communicates with the charger.
The phone controller actively regulates the charge curve throughout the charge cycle.
On the 10+ with the 25 watt brick it gains 2% @ minute in the 30-80% or so range if the temperature is within its correct parameters.
The 45 watt brick adds more on the lower end of the charge curve but as not near much as the wattage difference suggests.

I have QC chargers. I am not inclined to buy a 25W Samsung charger as I consider it a subpar product. It had to be said. After years of Fast Charging I find Samsung solution in 2020 bad. They are lagging behind OP, Xiaomi etc. But they heavily discount their phones so, here we are. Also, the Samsung cables.... but good cables are everywhere now.

If so that will throw off the charge curve. You can use bt and listen to Poweramp (screen off) without disrupting the curve much but screen on draws too much power.
At that point the phone will revert to slow charging.

Ampere is non-root. It shows Live data. It's not for monitoring over a long period of time. For example: I tested my 65W type C laptop charger into my HTC. Of course it went up to 3.5 Amps in 10 seconds. Pulled it off after 15 seconds. As the laptop charger is fast charge for my laptop it goes up to 5A. My phone cannot handle that.
So if you run the Ampere app and are between 20-80% at 25-35 degrees Celsius(measured at the battery sensor). It will show your charging parameters in 10-20 seconds. No problem measuring those values there.
I know 3.1 amps is not far from 3 amps and it stays that way. Maybe I am being over zealous. I don't think that 3.1 amps will ruin my phone. My experienced is based on reading about this in the early days of Type-C when HTC adopted this on the 10. It had 18W QC 3.0... in 2016. Glad I have a 15W charger in late 2020. Actually, I am glad I have a charger )).
I would like to know if the OnePlus 5T's charger will be able to charge the S22 or is it better to get the Samsung 45W charger or some other make with the future in mind?
There is also the Samsung Note 8's charger lying around but that seems to be a 15W compared to OnePlu's 20W and not sure the Note 8's charger will work.
All chargers will work. OnePlus' super fast charging won't work since that goes against your typical quick charging spec, but if it'll charge. The Note 8 charger will also work, but will charge at your typical 15w speeds.
Skip Samsung's 45w charger and just get a third party 25w or 30w charger since not even the 45w capable phones charge at 45w consistently and generally throttle down to roughly 30w.
25W charger is all you need. I have the Anker Power Port for my S22 Ultra and it charges from 20% to 100% in 80 minutes. A 45W charger is only slightly faster. Not worth the extra cost.
Im using the charger that came with my A20 to charge my s22 using fast charge. works well when not using the phone.
normally I charge my phone while sleeping. but today I didnt. when I went to bed it was at 95%, when I woke up it was 18%....

But 20% to 100% in 80 mins is bad, when I'm in a hurry to go out I should have enough charge on my phone but with this 25W charger, it is not possible. So I'm going with a 45W charger because I used Redmi K20 pro with a 33W sonic charger, it charges 0-100% in just 40-45 mins!!!
I have the HyperGear wall charger works great.
Isnt the Samsung S22 (Base one) capped at 25W max capacity. Only 22+ and 22U support 45W charging.
I too upgraded from OnePlus5T, the S22 doesnt charge with it and shows 5 hrs to charge fully and for some reason, the battery was discharging while connected to the 20W OnePlus charger. I dont think its compatible, ideal and safe choice would be to go with 25W charger from samsung for 1299 if you do not have any previously owned ones.
