Turn off voicemail notification.. - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

I have an S20 Ultra.. USA so non-root.. when I was with Xfinity Mobile, I used adb to get rid of the Voicemail app.. I don't use it and this way I got no notifications. Problem solved.
However, I recently changed over to Mint Mobile. Every time I start the phone I get a notification that says something Dial *86 to setup voicemail.
I cannot swipe this message away, and I can't disable notifications for voicemail.. greyed out. The only thing I found I can do is swipe and it'll remind me in 2 hours about this notification. I don't want to be reminded. I never want to see it again.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? I can't even "clear" it to remove the annoying icon up top.. that option is greyed out.

unable to delete Voice message (GVoice)

My HTC Incredible is display a voice mail but when I access it, it stated no message available. So how do I remove this from my notification? I cannot seem to get rid of it, it is getting anoying. TIA.
I had the same thing when I first install gvoice on my android.
That is actually a new voice mail on your Verizon voice mail service.
I think I cleared it by pulling down the notification bar and using the "clear" button in the upper right hand corner.
If you feel you need to listen to it, you may have to go to your settings menu, then call menu to re-enable your VZ voice mail... I've never done this and I believe it could take hours before it actually takes affect.. And then you will need to return your voice mail to GV when you're done.
I believe it will take hours because when I installed GV my GV VM took about a day to be default.
I don't see the clear option when I drag it. I will try to change my PocoMail to VZW and back to see if this Wii work. Thx.
I finally figure it out, as Luvit stated, the notification is for VZW voice but since I choose gvoice as default, it always call gvoice. No wonder I have no message. I have to call my VZW vm and delete it everything is fine now. Thx.

Some Google Voice Help Please :)

So I've integrated my Sprint Number with Google Voice - Cool. I like it. Mostly it's awesome to be able to sit at my computer and text\call people from a number they actually recognize. And being a flash addict, and yet someone who also wants to keep ALL my texts, it is quite useful.
Anyways when I first integrated, every incoming text would give me two notifications, one from Voice and one from default SMS app. I did something - changed a setting - I'm not sure, probably on the desktop side of things, but now I'm only receiving texts in Voice. They aren't showing up at all in my SMS app. Can someone help a noob out? I appreciate it!
I haven't used the integration, but what if you try to re-set it up and disable the text feature?

Sigh One day I'll learn to think outside the box! I have to wait 15 minutes after disabling to enable, but I'll let you know if it worked. It may not, because the settings may be stored server side and kept regardless of disabling, but I will soon see. Thanks.
So, messages are now showing up in SMS app again, so thats good, but I'm getting the double notifications again. Does anyone know how to disable text notifications for Voice? Also, I told voice that I wanted to route all calls through it - I've changed my mind haha. How do I change that setting?

Well for google voice, I don't know how to, since I don't use the text feature, but in chomp, you can simply go to the notification settings and disable them, and you'll only see them on chomp.

to disable text notifications, you will also have to disable voicemail notifications. just enable text/email notification for voicemail
I think it had something to do with Spring and google because same thing happened with me i still get picture mail on stock messenger and i can still send out once but none come in Sprint is maing out on that deal they are not getting any text data on are accounts

Ahhh. Well thats not clear in the least bit. If the notification feature is tied to both voicemail and text they should label it as such. But still thats an annoyingly stupid limitation. Surely they understand why someone, and I would guess most people, would like a voicemail notification, but not two sms notifications. /rant
Anyways, thanks for the help! Also for my other little problem about setting up all calls through gVoice, I just happened to stumble on a widget that switched that... still don't know where the setting to change it is though.
Voice took over everything and i didnt like it. I didnt even want voice to do it, but somehow it did. The only way i could figure out how to get back the option of what number to dial out from (google or cell) was to find older version of voice and install.

[Q] voicemail notification stays on

Got my hspa nexus yesterday... nearly fainted when it arrived so soon. I ordered it from gum mobile, excellent fast service.
Slid in my T-Mobile sim card and instantly started rocking 5mg plus download speed... loving this!
Anyway, the only thing I cannot figure out is my voicemail situation... the voicemail notification icon came on, and it displaying my Google Voice number.
I confirmed that I have no unread voice mails on Google voice or my T-Mobile account... what am I missing?
Same here, except it's my regular carrier voicemail and not Google Voice. Stupid icon will not disappear, not after multiple factory resets, and entering my voicemail to check. Will have to get my carrier to reset on their end and see if that works.
Any success?
I have uninstalled google voice, called into my T-Mobile voicemail... reinstalled.
Let me know... driving me crazy.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I rebooted my phone with and it went away for me. I'm using tmobile too.
this is a very common issue with Google Voice and T-Mobile. i have it on my nexus one right now, but luckily i can clear it at boot, so it's not that annoying.
and as you can tell from this google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=t-m...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
it's a huge issue and there are many ways of fixing it, many of which for some people, like me, won't work.
Solved!
I turned off the google voice functionality (Make no calls), then changed the voicemail to carrier (phone>settings>voicemail service)... then unforwarded my phone through the Google Voice interface (settings>Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone)
Then... called my T-mobile number from the house phone, left a voicemail message, called my voicemail box from my GN (hold down the 1 key), listened to the message, deleted the message... bam! no more voicemail icon.

Called my carrier (Rogers) and had them do a reset on their end then pulled the battery for 2 minutes. Didn't appear to work at first so I left myself a voicemail, deleted it, and the notification disappeared right away. This didn't work prior to having the carrier do a reset.

Can't get voice mail icon to go away?

Well my old sim card broke and I went to T-Mobile to get a new one, and ever since I've had a voicemail notification. I've listened to all of my voicemails. I can get it to go away for a little bit if I clear the phone data, but after a little bit it comes back.
Any idea's?
Call yourself from another phone and leave a voicemail then delete that message and icon should go away
Call your phone from another phone, leave voicemail. Then listen to and delete voicemail, listen to all menu options and hang up. This has cleared all of my vm notification issues in the past.
Hmmmmm... nothing seems to be working
my buddys phone was doing this. i deleted his visual voice mail. then he dailed 123 and called it and he was able to get into his voice mail delete the message and after a few seconds the icon went away.
after that you can re download tmobile visual voice mail if you'd like. try it out

Last ditch effort... Need help with messaging and voicemail please

I guess this question is for both this and the new Galaxy watch forums... Here goes.
I use the s9 on Tmobile and just picked up the new 46mm LTE watch. 2 problems I can't solve for the life of me.
1. SMS...Each and every time my watch switches from Wi-Fi/Bluetooth mode, I receive dozens of old, sms messages. When my watch is connected to the phone and not using its LTE function all seems to be ok.
2. Voicemail... I can't seem to figure out my voice mail setup. I have tmobile and the visual voicemail app from the carrier on my s9. I get a voicemail. Easy enough. But I get notified, at least I think, from 2 different apps. One app transcribes the voicemail and the tmobile app simply displays it for me to play. Does Samsung and/or Android have a native visual voicemail app? If so, I can't find it in my apps list.
3. Voicemail notifications... My watch with 1 swipe right, shows a notification that I have 1 voicemail. I can't swipe it away from the watch and I have triple checked my voicemail... I have no messages. But the notification will not go away.
I have hard reset both devices twice to no avail.
I feel like an idiot for not being able to solve these problems so any help would be greatly appreciated... Getting ready to go the LG/Android Wear soon ?
Is the time/date on the watch synced to the phone? Or at least correct? Can only think if the watch thinks they are new messages because the time/date of the phone messages are ahead of the time/date of the watches messages
