Phone vibrates only for first notification - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Redmi Note 8 Pro, MIUI 12.5.1
When a stream of notification (e.g. 1 message per 7 seconds) is received, only the first one is accompanied by vibration - other ones go unnoticed. If the message interval is increased (e.g. 20-30 seconds), the problem will be gone - every message has its own vibration and it works well.
it doesn't depends on app - I've got this with WhatsApp, Telegram, VK, Instagram.
Could you please tell whether this is bug or not? How to deal with it?
P.S. I've got the same thing on MIUI 12 with Android 10 as well.

several bugs with OOS 4.0

Hi, i updated my phone to OOS 4.0 with clean install 1 month ago.
since then i have several annoying bugs :
- Bluetooth issue : my phone doesn't detect my headphone Plantronics Backbeat pro. it worked perfectly before update
- widget issue : i use a widget for calendar (business calendar) for 3 years. Now this widget disappear randomly... every time i re-add it, it disappears like 2h or 2 days after.
- I don't find a way to put my phone in vibrate mode. before i just reduced volume until it's on vibrate, but now it doesn't reduce until vibrate (minimum is like 10% volume).
The only way i found is to use "do not disturb" mode, but i don't get notification anymore...
- i also have wifi issue (slow wifi, slow play store download), but i think it started before update (even though it comes from the phone and not from my internet).
Does anyone have those problems ? it's really annoying
Thanks in advance
First tip I can give to you is to update immediately to OOS 4.0.2 because this update fixes some bugs that are present on 4.0 (but I never had problems with 4.0).
1. I think this has fixed with 4.0.2
2. I think it's a problem of that app, have you contacted the developer? Do you use Nova Launcher or stock launcher?
3. For now you can't set to silent mode the phone with the volume buttons, OnePlus has changed how the buttons work and for now that problem remains (I don't like it too, but I use the slider, it's here for something right? ). You can set the phone in vibrate mode moving the slider on the upper mode and in the settings activate the vibration
4. That problem was fixed in 4.0.2 update
So update your phone as soon as you can, the update is great
thanks for your answer ! I'll update as soon as possible then and let you know.
I use stock launcher, i'll try to add other widget to see if it comes from that app or all apps.
And about the vibrate mode, that's what i did, i use the slider at top now, but i dont get notification like that... no notification from messenger, no vibration for messenger, no led signal etc etc
I'm on 4.0.2 and have the following bugs:-
-Fingerprint reader is sometimes totally unresponsive, (not even turned on,) after a full night of Doze mode. (Not set to aggressive Doze BTW.) Pressing the power button re-enables it.
-Gmail notification doesn't disappear when you go into the email you've been notified about. It only goes when you go back to the primary inbox or delete the email.
As far as I'm concerned these are minor issues. On the whole, I'm happy with One Plus and don't have any major bugs. :victory:

Good Try other widget, yes :good:
If you don't receive notification, you have to set the app to don't optimize it in the battery settings, here you have to set to don't optimize all the apps you want notification for (whatsapp, messenger, email...).
Let me know when you've updated the phone

Top mode is "silent" and you should be getting notifications in that mode. The middle one is "do not disturb", which blocks most notifications (depending on your settings).

OK i updated, first thing i can say is that the Bluetooth still doesn't work.. it doesn't even detect my headphone.
For the rest i'll see in long term utilization
I downgraded my device to OS 3.2.8 since Nougat (both official OS4 and OS4.02 and LineageOS) has broken bluetooth.
I can connect to my car audio but it barely works. And when I try to use the phone over BT it breaks and I need to reboot OP3. Also I have problems with my bluetooth speaker (JBL Charge2+). It connects to it much slower and sometimes it stops working.
I already complained to OP3, they put me to a remote session, downgraded my phone, I tested it in Marshmallow and saw that it works, then upgraded again to OS4.02 (wasnt working) and then tried LineageOS hoping that custom roms might have it working but it behaved exactly the same.
They told me to wait for next update, but I dont think they will do anything.
Try to submit a report ticket to them. More people bugs them, more chance they will try anything.
Anyway I am already looking for another device. This is second OnePLus device I used and both had software issues. Luckily CyanogenMod was working fine on OP1 back then. Now even the custom roms cant help me.

Notification troubles

I've been having notification issues with my Mate 9 Pro (similar to Porsche) in the last couple of weeks.
Some apps don't notify my anymore - e.g. Hootsuite and Telegram.
I haven't changed anything and I've forced the notification to even be shown on locked screen but nothing shows up.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong?
I'm running B185 not rooted.
Sorry if posted in the wrong category, couldn't find a Mate 9 Pro specific board.
Same here with the PD phone, ever since i bought it I had the same issues.
Whatsapp is fine, Gmail is fine, Flightradar is fine, Agenda is fine, Facebook Messenger is fine. But Skype gives me a vibration and an icon, but no sound on an incoming message
I also suddenly had a problem that no app showed me anything before I actually opened the app. Was extremely annoying and started doing it without me changing anything. Factory reset fixed it

Viber messages not being delivered to MB4?

I have an odd problem with Viber messages not being delivered to MB4. Every other notification comes through without a problem, only Viber not. I tried everything - rebooting, disabling end enabling Viber on phone, checking permissions etc., testing it through Notify&Fitness app (Viber test message is being delivered fine) but in real life they are not being delivered. The strangest thing is that one time about 10 days ago and one time a few weeks ago, a couple of Viber messages were actually (out of the bloom) delivered but nothing since. I have the latest firmware 10.0.5.55 and latest MIUI 10.3.3.0 on phone. Any advice?
I don't use Viber, but maybe it's caused by some special thing in MIUI? It used to have big problems with notifications in general, not sure about the latest versions. Anyway, I would try lowering/increasing the notification category with Autonotification app, maybe it will help. Open the app, click on "Notification categories", find Viber, select channel for messages, click "ON" and change the importance.
And a stupid question, yet important - make sure that notification is not "disabled" in N&F app. I somehow clicked on "disabled" check box when configuring custom options for Gmail and was wondering why they don't come through..
Thanks, I'll try that app. I don't think it's MIUI related as I had MB3 for a year connected to the same phone and had no trouble with Viber.
And it's not about N&F either as I installed it only a few days ago just because Viber messages were not coming and I couldn't do anything else through Mi Fit.

Update: Viber is now working after removing Mi Fit, wiping it's cache/data and fresh install.
PS. Removing Mi Fit and leaving only N&F didn't help at first as all notifications were again coming OK except Viber, but Viber suddenly started working only after I installed Mi Fit again.

The problem is in Viber app and it default notifications.
The default setting is that viber notification will turn on display.
So solution is to either disable turn on display on viber notification or turn on in Mi Fit app to notify when display is on.
Hello, i have to chime in here as i have the same problem, though i use Mi Fit app to configure Mi Band and push notifications through it. Notifications seem to arrive just fine but as in this case, Viber notifications are exception.
As @trezor15 mentioned i tried to disable turn on display on viber notifications (from viber setup), because it does make sense, but it seems that for some reason phone is ignoring that option and screen still lights up after i disable that in viber. And still doesn't work even if i allow Mi App to notify when display is on.
What is weird is that the notifications will arrive on mi band 4 ONLY if i open up Viber app (and have unread messages) with Mi Fit app "notify when display is on" option is on. Which really has no point.
I haven't tried with N&F because i fail to see the point of having both Mi Fit and N&F if the viber notifications would work that way. Shouldn't it work with one app only?
Who would be responsible for this issue as i would like to submit a feedback. Would that be breators of Mi Fit app or Viber or Xiaomi itself?
P.S.
This was tried on Redmi Note 8 Pro, MIUI 11 (Mint Launcher).

Question Question of notification..... again...

Hello everyone,
I know that my has always had problems with notifications on MIUI, but with the update to 12.5.1 the problems on my Poco f3 have increased, greatly increased, some apps like gmail receive notifications with huge delay, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes even 30 minutes, sometimes only when I use the app, almost randomly
This is unacceptable to me, I need the smartphone for work and I cannot receive notifications with such high delays, do you also have this problem?
Now, gmail has never been perfect with notifications due to the absurd power saving system (Doze), the problem is that I am forced to use it because the corporate mail is google business and it cannot be configured with any other mail client, but the notification problems are there with all the apps.
Practically the smartphone does as it wants, sometimes notifications arrive immediately sometimes ...... when he decides.
Clearly I have configured the power management, automatic start (on gmail it is not possible), app lock from the home screen etc etc, everything useless....
So I ask, do I have to change my smartphone? , or in extremis I try to put a custom rom? is the doze system active on custom roms?
thanks for all your answers
First of all, try to factory reset your phone. And let see if everything start to work or stay the same.
Since on me (running miui ID 12.5.20) everything work just well, there is no delay notification at all. Of course i set up apps ON for "autostart" and set battery behaviour to "no restriction".

Question Vivo X80 Pro AOD Notifications

Hello
I have the Vivo X80 Pro CN, Dim9000, with Ocean Origin OS.
Last weekend i configure the phone and all works perfect for me.
The device was now 1 week on my desk and all notification was shown on the AOD.
Now since yesterday this doesn´t work any longer. Notifications are no longer displayed on the AOD.
Only the fingerprint sensor and charging animations.
This behavior occurred after the battery dropped below 53%, after charging and several restarts, this behavior is still there
In this week nothing changed or installed on the phone
You say ALL notification were shown on the AOD? Really all, that means WhatsApp, Outlook, Facebook and more? Because OriginOS normally only shows notifications from the Vivo telephone or Vivo messaging app, nothing else…

I get the same issue as you. Notifications only popup when you have the app active recently. Once I don't use that app for a period of time, I usually never get any notifications on OriginOS :/
Same issue with FuntouchOS, restarting my phone solved the issue for 1-2 days.
The notifications with Vivo devices have become one of Life's mysteries ....
It's not the first device to have this and it's ofcourse all down to the software.
It's a pain as there seems to be no logic as it might work today and not tomorrow, then certain apps have it and others don't, some are shown with a huge delay, etc etc ....
And this is ofcourse after all the proper settings have been applied (power management settings on apps) to prevent notifications from being hidden or not pushed due to energy saving for instance.
This is a NO GO for a lot of people because a smartphone should be about convenience and not about launching all apps to see if you have any new messages, alerts and whatnot.
For some people missing the notifications (or having them being delayed) can cost them serious money.
