Question [Bounty) TPD App Throttling Disablement - OnePlus 9 Pro

I'll Personally donate $50 to anyone that comes up with a easy solution to disable the app throttling. I'm well aware that some Developers can exclude the TPD commit, but it seems like devs aren't too keen on doing that.
I also realize that OnePlus should have added a toggle within the OS for us to turn that on or off. Samsung does this they have a feature called 'enhanced processing', that lets the phone run at full potential.

This thread has some info. By easy solution, you mean one without root? Not possible as far as I know. One Plus locks these apps to not use performance CPUs, just like it does with their camera on external apps.
You can change app's package name, change anything, even a character. The phone won't be listing the app, and it should just work as on any other SD888 phone.

The magisk module removed, see post #26 @LuK1337 , the command "chmod 000 /sys/module/tpd/parameters/tpd_*" is better way,Thanks @LuK1337. That module is only for my personal testing.

Testing.
After installing, browserbench Speedometer goes to 71...
So that's already a big improvement.
Will have to see what it does with general feel of the device, stability and battery.

I got 88. Lol, but i have lots of chrome performance flags enabled.
I notice a HUGE performance difference with the disablement. Phone feels smooth and snappy like my s21 ultra.

can you maintain this mod for new oos releases? with a new thread in themes and mods section

Did anyone pay him the bounty?....

As the OP does not respond, I decided to investigate myself what changes were made in the oneplus-services.jar file.
I unpacked the original oneplus-services.jar framework from my phone, decompiled classes.dex which was inside and compared all changes made in @xls654 module.
The changes are in three files inside classes.dex (original files on left side, "hacked on right side):
sources/com/android/server/wifi/tsu.java
(wtn enables something called "OpWifiLowLatency", but I don't know what is WifiManager.WifiLock and why he disabled it, to be honest I don't understand just this one change, I don't know what WiFi has to do with TPD and overall app throttling)

sources/com/android/server/wm/OnePlusPerfManager.java
(here he disabled OnePlusPerfManager)
sources/com/android/server/hmo.java
(I'm quite sure boolean H enables TPD, so OP disabled it by replacing whole function with "return false")
I hope someone will find this information useful. I wanted to see how OP turned off the throttling app out of curiosity, and since he doesn't write back in this thread, I thought that I would save everyone's time by showing what I found.
I hope the author of the module will not be angry that I showed it

Running on blue spark kernel and ran the benchmark now I'm getting 112 the phone feels smooth now and apps run better.

Deny all and test your apps. If you need to enable an authorisation, return to privacy guard and long touch google services to choose detailed access.
@murigny64 i see, anyways after deny all i have no problems so it can be done safe, i add some pictures here, magisk all good, performance really good (35k at 1920x1080 and 40k at 1280*720, it is some less than other roms there but i really prefeer lineageOS), Pogo and etc, incredible rom
i suggest to disable LiveDisplay tho, it affects a lot the performance
EDIT: and btw, the battery life is amazing, but interactive seems a little bugged, but anyways it is good
EDIT2: changed to userspace and all ****ing good, idk what is the problem with interactive tho lol
@murigny64
Awesome work, and I LOVE the ROM. I do have a couple questions though. First, can I just disable the privacy guard altogether, or do I need to enable then deny?
Secondly, I saw a post where you were mentioning lock screen issues here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/help/6045-try-to-fix-lockscreen-security-t3435892
I'm having the EXACT same issues. My phone was lollipop, and I've not reflashed any radios. It sounds from your post that you found a file to flash to correct the issue, but I don't know what to look for, or where to find it. Can you please link the files you flashed to fix it, or a link? If it helps, I have the 6045 from cricket.

Welcome to the Twisted Kernel for the Galaxy S6 920F, and 925F.......These kernels
are based on G920TUVU5FQE1 with all the correct ramdisk merges. Both kernels also come
with Synaspe support.....which will be discussed more below.
I also want everyone to know that I have a 920T, not a F model,etc.....So I have built
these for YOU, not me. All I ask is a little bit of appreciation for the time I had to spend
on bringing this to yall. I dont think I'm asking for too much. Plus, I dont see very many
kernels here, especially with the amount of optimizations as mine do. Or rather, the experience
in building them.
SYNAPSE
Each kernel has Synapse support. Now, before anyone starts *****ing......there is some Java errors
that I still need to fix. They WILL NOT affect performance OR battery life. I just havent gotten around
to fixing them yet. But, I will be addressing them on the next update.
If you are unfamiliar with Synapse I would suggest that you do some reading on it. It can become
the best thing since sweet tea, or the worst like.......well, you get the picture. BUT, Synaspe does
have a safety feature......if you adjust something (like voltage) and either give or take away too much,
Synaspe will cancel out your selections on a reboot.

And Info
My kernels provide the best of both worlds, performance and battery life. If you want your
device to be wide open and battery life isnt a issue, you can tune it to fly just as fast as you
want. Or, if your the conservative type, you can tune it in to get you the best battery life you
can possibly have on the S6. The choice is all yours on how YOU want your device to run. All
I did was give you the means to do so........
MAGISK
My kernel comes with all the commits in order for it to pass all Safety-Net restictions. But,
Magisk can also cause issues such as loosing root on a reboot, or causing errors in Synaspe.
This is due to BusyBox which he has implemented in his binary. This is NOT a kernel issue.
So please dont flood my thread with things I cannot control.
SUPERSU
SuperSU works just fine. Only set-back is that it will not pass Safety-Net. BUT, he does have
a Aroma installer that just may help to pass all of Safety-Net bull........I myself uses SuperSU
Just make sure that you flash either Magisk or SuperSU after you flash the kernel. Failure
to do so will make it boot back to TWRP......
ISSUES/BUGS/REBOOTS
If you have any of these problems you need to speak up. I have been on this kernel for awhile
and have yet to run into any issues. Thats not saying that you won't either.....
REMEMBER, I BUILT THESE KERNELS FOR YOU.

Magisk is a method of rooting that tries to keep up with Google (and app devs) ways of detecting root AND changes to the ROM (System). This makes apps unusable or invisible in the Google Play Store and so on. Off the top my head: Pokemon Go, Mario Run, Netflix, Elder Scrolls: Legends, a myriad of banking apps are involved in using this... With Magisk this "SafetyNet" is by-passed and root access can be hidden from specific apps. Search, this is waaaay simplifed from all Magisk is

I'd get the intended root-method working before flashing kernel and then as OP instructs flash the used root-method (SU or Magisk) BEFORE booting. You should be able to switch root-method afterwards as well... But I am no expert

Thanks again
edit: @The Sickness one thing to report, safetynet doesn't work. i have flashed magisk v13.3 right after kernel, and inside magisk i can't pass safetynet verification
Edit2: another problem is that when i delet big files from internal memory, this is not gonna be updated.
I explain it better: lets say i have 10 GB free and i delete a file of 2 GB, now memory should show me 12 GB free, instead it continues to show 10 free until i make a reboot

I managed to get Edxposed v0.4.6.0 (YAHFA) installed with Riru-Core on my OnePlus 7t. Any earlier versions of Edxposed made my phone unable to boot.
I wasn't able to get any modules to work though. The logs kept saying "Cannot load any modules because /data/user_de/0/org.meowcat.edxposed.manager/conf/modules.list was not found"
After some quick google-fu I found this bug report with the same issue: https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/issues/310
It sounds like it might be an issue with SELinux. I attempted to set SELinux to permissive, but am unsure if it worked. . . . Long story short, I gave up and wiped my phone clean.
Hope this helps someone out that is smarter than me with this stuff!

Appreciate the info. I also gave it a try when I got my device yesterday.
If you don't want to have to wipe your device after tinkering around with Magisk modules, you can use fastboot to boot the image "fastboot boot image-new.img" (not flash) created by Tulsadiver in this post(https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80547561&postcount=46), then delete the modules in Magisk Manager, and reboot. No data lost.
Thanks to your post i tried to install Xposed and it worked, but no module is working. I don't know how to set SELinux to permissive and if this solves the issue
I've read something about a custom Magisk Version to allow "those sepolicies present" but you have to flash this via TWRP - which we don't have on the 7T ... hm, i'm pretty lost

Thanks for sharing info!
Maybe I would give a try to Tai Chi. I badly want AOD with no notification LED in our device.

That's super helpful! I'm definitely going to try that the next time I mess around with things.
For anyone wondering, Tai Chi module is not working as well. Reboots into fastboot.
I gave Edxposed v0.4.6.0 (Sandhook) a try and it boots to the bootloader, as I suspected it would. Tried with both Magisk v20 and Magisk Canary.
From what I've read they have xposed working on the OP7 and OP7Pro. Haven't read anything about the OP7TPro yet, but I'm guessing it'll boot to the bootloader like the OP7T does.
Hopefully OnePlus sent or will send out phones to one of the devs who uses xposed like C3C076 who created Gravitybox.
Updated OP to get XPOSED and AOD working.
Does it work with Greenify? I tried it with normal YAHFA EdXposed and Greenify didn't recognize the module while EdXposed did "activate" it... Weird

You can use the No Device Check xposed module (https://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.nodevicecheck) to at least get "ctsProfile: true". Unfortunately, basicIntegrity will still be false.
Hey OP!
The OP7T Pro has an installer for those that aren't rooted yet and want the modded Magisk version for EdXposed compatibility and it should work on the 7T non-pro.
[Magisk][ROOT][EdXposed]Auto install tool - Magisk Installer for OnePlus 7T Pro = (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/magisk-auto-install-tool-magisk-t4001471)
I was already rooted, so haven't tried it myself, but it may speed up the process for those who aren't yet rooted.

Yeah I checked it, but am not sure if they have used same custom version of Magisk like here or different.
If its same thn safetynet would fail again.
Edexposed is up and running! For some reason my safetynet has no problems. I have no idea why.
So far I have MinMinGuard and Greenify working. GravityBox doesn't work, but I can definitely live with that for now.

Are you using this as your Update Channel in Magisk?
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/solohsu/magisk_files/master/custom_builds/release.json
Which version of EdXposed are you using?
EdXposed-SandHook-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471
or
EdXposed-YAHFA-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471
Gravitybox is the main reason I use xposed, but I've also got modules for Burnt Toast Revived and Smooth System Progress Bars running with no issues.
It's great getting xposed features through EdXposed so quickly on newer android versions! I remember the wait for xposed back in the day.

So after about 24 hours of running edexposed I started noticing some bugs. Mainly I stopped receiving text messages until I rebooted my phone. I experienced the same thing and worse on my last phone the Essential PH-1 when things like this weren't really supported. I don't know what causes it. So be wary and don't blame me if a bricked phone happens or your alarm stops working and you're late for work. (Don't ask me how I know )
Nevertheless I followed what @Aswin08 has in the first post:

[MOD][Magisk][MIUI][v1.1]ALWAYS on display for Mi 10 Lite (monet)

Hi there!
I made this Magisk module to enable more options to choose with the Always on display on monet and not only the annoying option of "10 seconds after tapping".
Did it modifying the "AODSettings.smali" file inside an old AOD apk, where there was an exception to our device to enable more options. I'm trying to make it work with recent versions.
Tested and working on MIUI Q/R stock and xiaomi.eu based ROMS.
Changelog:
v1.0 (26/01/2021)
- Initial release
- Patched original apk, ver. 2.0.453.
v1.1 (11/02/2021)
-Updated AOD app from 2.0.453 to 2.4.542
-Solved a syntax error on "AODSettings.smali" which could cause side effects on some sensors.
-Dark mode fully supported
-Specific apk bugs solved (Xiaomi's changelog)
Maybe there won't be more updates of this mod because for earlier versions of AOD they included proprietary libs that are not easy to manage.
Known bugs:
-You tell me

The MOD is under testing, working fine with xiaomi.eu 12.1.1 - Android 11.
Super Wallpapers compatible.
Not tested yet on global and another MIUI based ROMs.
Known bugs:
-Some users with Android 10 reported audio jack isn't working with this module installed.

I have tested your module, but I cannot boot my device with it. I am on xiaomi.eu 12.1.1 as well.
Works on 12.1.3 EEA rom with root.
Please add dark mode. I love sheduled mode.
works fine on 12.1.3.0.RJIEUXM
no problem with audio jack
thanks for this module
works fine for me! Thank you!
Edit: After one day usage I noticed a bug for me: AOD and Lock screen shows AM, PM while using 24hrs clock, so probably I will stop using it for now

As this mod is not device specific, you can try, but do it at you own risk, it may work.
Hi, i need to root my Phone for this Mod, right?
Or is there a way to install this without root?

Yes, you must root with Magisk. I don't know if there's another way. Maybe uninstalling the system app with adb and then install manually the modified APK. But I didn't try.

I read that this is unfortunately not working with System Apps.
Is it not possible to edit the Android Manifest and raise the APP Version higher than the already installed AOD App?
Has anyone tried to root the Redmi note 10 pro and tried this mod?
"Maybe there won't be more updates.."
What do you mean by that? So it won't work with the upcoming versions? Then I won't play with root if it's just a temporary solution. Have you noticed the changes of the libs in the latest beta?
Oh, and BTW, is the functionality of this mod the same as for other xiaomi smartphones that include AOD always options out-of-box? I'm sure it's a better solution than disabling MIUI optimizations to get it working (regarding battery efficiency)...

Didn't know that Redmi Note 10 Pro have the same limitation. I mean, maybe there won't be more updates of my mod because for earlier versions than 2.4.542, Xiaomi included proprietary libs inside the apk, they don't have debug symbols and the built apk doesn't work. Look at this
Recompile Settings.apk MIUI 11 · Issue #2243 · iBotPeaches/Apktool
Information Apktool Version (apktool -version) - 2.4.1 Operating System (Mac, Linux, Windows) - Linux Ubuntu 18 APK From? (Playstore, ROM, Other) - ROM Stacktrace/Logcat I: Using Apktool 2.4.1 I: C...
github.com
Is the same problem for me, so this is not my notion.
Also, note that the mod works fine, even with latest betas, so is not a temporary solution. Have been using this along with the Telegram community. Maybe if I have the time I'll try to modify the Android Manifest and see if it works without root. By now, this should work on any Xiaomi with AOD support.
is it possible to install it trough adb with an apk?
Eu Rom Miui 12.5 rom pürüzsüz.
Only the weather super theme has a double clock display error
There is a new update for monet, 12.5.2 (xiaomi.eu), the module doesn't work anymore. Clicking the AOD in settings throws you back to the main settings page.
Thanks, I just installed v1.1_MIUI_AOD-Patched zip to Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, MIUI 12.5.8 EEA stock, and it works flawlessly (I can now use AOD really always (actually scheduled during the day), not only for 10 seconds as Xiaomi forces)

Question Zygisk/MagiskHide Issue

Has anyone been able to successfully use Pokémon Go/Pikmin Bloom since the removal of MagiskHide? I've tried Xposed Modules, Riru modules, and a handful of other things to try and get them to work. I've also tried Google searching for countless hours on other possible ways to get it to work with no luck.
Check the 23011 update released yesterday.
I don't play it but I installed to see if i could replicate your problem but it worked for me. You shouldn't need any modules to get it to work. Test safetynet to make sure you're passing and review the modules you've installed if safetynet is tripping.

Just use magisk 23.0 it works fine even with ob1. As ive said before. And riru dont work with zygisk. At least not now
SafetyNet isn't passing for me. At all. Latest magisk Alpha (Chinese). This is what I'm using currently with Magisk.
Also, this is what I get when I run YASNC. T-Mobile 9 Pro, converted to international, running OB1. Never had this issue before MagiskHide was removed.
