Perfectly is a big word.
There are dozens of users in other threads complaining that OTG doesn't work.
I tryed my logitech mouse and my pen drive and it does not work and I'm using the genuine Samsung cable.
I need to try this tonite to decide who's mad
But I heard 4.0.3 has otg support including USB stick using stick mount

Read somewhere the pen drive must be a 'green' drive (as in power saving). Can't for the life of me find where I read it, though
Has to be the most useless add-on IMO

I have dozens of pen drive no one works.
I'm thinking that people who says that USB Host works well on 4.0.2 are using modded kernel.
Read somewhere that Stickmount (on the Market) was required to make usb storage work.
My USB OTG cable and MicroSD card reader have yet to come in so I have yet to confirm thus myself.

4.0.3 + StickMount + cheapy cable + any old USB stick or uSD card reader I can find == WIN on my GN.
Can't comment on 4.0.2.

Yes, USB OTG works on 4.0.2 (ICL53F), try a USB mouse or keyboard. But there is a problem with external (pen) drives as the phone won't mount them. So although USB OTG "works" you can't use it with pen drives.
Your phone needs to be rooted and if it is, get "StickMount" from chainfire from the market. That will solve that problem.
Do you have to have a new ROM or can you just run Stickmount on the stock but rooted phone?

Powered off the phone, connected the Logitech Unifying receiver, booted the phone.
Works both mouse and keyboard at the same time.
Now we need to wait for pen drive support.
you need stickmount and you need to have root, then pendrives should work
as an aside, i'm completely stock 4.0.2 on gsm, and my ps3 controller totally works in shadowgun now!

same here with my logitech pc pad.
Is it my cable?
I updated to 4.0.2 and I have a USB Host cable (http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/24267949/-/Product.html). I tried plugging in a mouse to test, but nothing happens.
What am I suppose to see? a pointer?
Also tried 2 thumb drives with stickmount, but nothing detected.
Trying to work out if it's the cable or the things I'm testing are not compatible.
Thanks

Problem was my cable, I ordered a genuine one from Amazon and arrived today. Just tested and worked straight away, no reboots. Here's the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004ULZD7U
Hello,
I've searched the forums and made no conclusion whether this would work or not so I'm starting a new thread. So I'll be living in halls for some time and in the halls there is no wi-fi only ethernet cable and bringing a router is not allowed
So my question is will a micro usb to lan adapter work on Note 2? Has anyone tried it? And are there any other solutions to this problem?
Big thanks for any response. :highfive:
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get it work. I've tried several kernels, with stock rom, but no luck.

That's bad I read somewhere that these work with phones that support OTG cables but idk. Are you sure you tried a Micro USB adapter and not a regular USB one plugged in with an OTG cable?

It's good to know it doesn't work with an OTG cable. Has anyone tried a Micro USB to Ethernet adapter and wants to share his thoughts?
Bump! ^:fingers-crossed:
I am able to get my usb ethernet adapter working by following this thread. Running on Omega V16.

Can u provide us a little more info? Which Note do u own, kernel, etc? Did u compiled something yourself or did u find something precompiled? Thanks!!

I'm using N7100 running Omega 17 (XXDMC3) standard kernel.
I used the precompiled driver provided by gingerneil in that thread and followed the steps.
is there any way to use usb otg on galaxy tab 3 7.0
Not working yet, but I am working on it now. All wiring is correct internally but the otg phy driver defaults to dock mode. Omce I patch it you will lose dock mode but gain otg.

No problem, I should have it fully going in the next week or so as time permits me. USB OTG is pretty much a requirement for my final goals and i doubt anyone will miss the dock feature. So far my kernel recognizes devices via lsusb and prints vendor info but it might need changes in the rom as well which im gonna tackle now.
Wishing You Success

our tablet doesnt support usb otg so what the OP is trying to do is whenever you connect your usb, it will use the wiring and stuff of dock mode to load and use usb otg

Yeah, any progress @BinaryDroid?
I know for a fact that officially the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 does not support USB OTG via the official Samsung Firmware for the device. But I think you guys could get it to work if you use a custom ROM for the device.
This tablet really disappointed me.
The chipset supports USB host:
http://www.marvell.com/communication-processors/pxa986/
official for galaxy tab t110?
and if you could put him whether drivers usb modem zte such as to have 3g on the tablet via a usb modem? Thank you.

I don;t know how you can be disappointed about a feature the manufacture has always said would NOT be present.

You could also do it for the t110?
you could include drivers usb modem to connect a usb skewer?
I'm trying to do this http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=533210
but the tablet does not recognize the modem could make it work in a t110 please thanks.

I do not have a mainboard for the T110 to work on the kernel or to trace out the layout as I did on the T217. Officially the T217 has no a stripped down set of drivers and its alot of coding to trace the board layout to each GPIO, then get the GPIO numbers, write a shim kernel module to activate host(im hoping to do away with this when I am done), then link it into the ROM itself.....its not an easy task as you can tell.
PS: for the record I will not touch PXA devices lol, hate me or not I just do not like the PXA.

I just tried a wireless USB mouse (Logi M705) with my N7 2013 using this: http://www.amazon.com/aLLreli®-Adap...&sr=8-11&keywords=allreli&tag=viglink20238-20 (aLLreli® 7-in-1 OTG Adapter Cable) and it worked perfectly.
I am rooted and using Carbon.
My Nexus 7 isnt rooted. :-/
I will buy your OTG Hub, i believe in you that it works! Thanks! I say you when it works when it is by me at home.

It's not mine, just a suggestion. I believe you will need to root your tablet for this to work. And, there are plenty of threads here for rooting. The Nexus Root Toolkit is my choice. Search the forums and\or wugfresh. It's free and works perfectly.
I have that problem found, i needed ro connect my device to a pc.
Thread can be closed!
My lg g4 h815 running android 6.0 doesn't seem to recognize my OTG Cable, please help.

I assume you already tested different cables? if thats the case im guessing there is something wrong with your phones usb socket, because even stock rom and kernel supports otg.

I did test another cable, that one is the same story as well but I didn't have any issues with my phones mini usb socket before. My device is not rooted by the way. Also, I tried it with my Samsung tablet and that didn't work either.
