Phone: S20 5G Snapdragon (SM-G981U1)
Software: US OneUI 3.0 Beta 2 (Build RP1A.200720.012.G981U1EU1ZTJG).
Carrier: Mint Mobile (T-Mobile US MVNO).
Here is what I noticed.
When I am driving, I use Android Auto and when I used Beta 1, for the most part I saw a 5G icon (where 5G is available) on the phone and on the display on the AA.
Now, after Beta 2 update, when the phone's screen is on, then the 5G icon is on the AA display as well as the phone. Once the display screen times out and goes dark (while the phone is still working) the AA display goes from 5G to LTE. As soon as I wake up the phone, back to the 5G.
This behavior is new and I did not see it in Beta 1. Can someone confirm this on T-Mobile US? Thanks in advance.
I am starting to wander if Beta 2 doing a more aggressive power savings than Beta 1? If that's the case, how and what do I disable to keep the 5G connection from "sliding" into LTE when the screen times out?
Same story here, same device with TMO. Beta 1 was 'golden' for me but the Beta 2 is something else. I failed to understand as to how the constant LTE to 5G signal switching could help in the battery saving department, also the native email app doesn't sync properly. Aside from that is it pretty fast and much cleaner than Android 10. Totally understand that it is a Beta which could bring potential issues and such then again common sense dictates that progress should be defined as going forward not backwards.

Apparently the new iPhone 12 does the same, LTE must use less power than 5G, worse with the iPhone apparently it sticks to LTE the majority of the time, only switching to 5G for specific reasons
If you dial *#2263# the device will show the 'ServiceMode' screen where you can scroll down and select the [6]NR5g Band Preference (*), press it and it will open another screen where you could choose the [2] NR NSA ONLY or [3] NR SA ONLY among others then select [A] GO MAIN which will open another screen where you can select [9]-Apply band configuration which will give you the confirmation message; APPLY DONE, reboot next.
In essence [2] NR NSA ONLY would be 'non standalone 5G' and [3] NR SA ONLY would be a 'standalone 5G'. I've tried all that with the Beta 2 yet it doesn't seem to work as it should, at this point leaving the Beta altogether is beginning to make more sense.
Thanks for the tip. I put my phone into the 5G NR SA only mode and will see how that works in my neck of the woods. But I doubt that it will solve an underlying original complaint.
Hello all,
I have recently bought a Xiaomi (marked Redmi on the back) Note 9T 5G.
I migrated using Google from my DooGee F1, and that went quite well.
In the beginning there was one problem, that was related to the "Wake on Raise".
I found the solution on XDA-dev, it seems it only happens when migrating using Google, anyway, I found the solution here.
It was using ADB and resetting that setting using the ADB commands:
adb shell
settings put secure wake_gesture_enabled 0
exit (to exit adb shell)
But this was not all....
I found that reception of this phone was quite poor.
Where previously my DooGee had 4G, also indoors, the Note 9T always would go back to HSDPA+.
When I was in the village, the connection was 4G, so it had to do something with the radio, or the antenna.
To exclude any settings that could be wrong I decided to test some of the settings, only using the offcial settings of the phone, and this is where it went wrong!!
Going to the Sim1 & Sim2 settings, I found under Sim2 (this is where my 4G Data Sim was) a DSDS setting.
This is a blue slide switch, s it looked quite legit.....
DSDS is supposed to mean: Double Sim, Dual Standby, so to see if it would help to have just one Sim active I moved it to the Off position.
I got a message that to activate my change, I must reboot the phone, so I did......
Now I am in a kind of 'bootloop'.
It does boot, I can login using my fingerprint, I get the launcher screen, and in the Icon bar on top I see just one triangle for one Sim.
But after about 20 seconds, the phone will give a black screen and a rotating circle, and if I do nothing, it will boot into recovery.
I tried to flash the ROM again (mine is on 12.0.7.0.QJEEUXM) and that went well, but the setting has not changed... :-(
My question is: is there a way of resetting this one setting, or all settings if needed?
I can only get ADB sideload, or get it connected to the MiFlashTool4.0.
I really would like to avoid the full reset from the stock recovery!!
Many thanks, saludos from Spain,
Leo
So on MIUI 11, the Poco F3 had a feature under "game turbo" that enabled game players to answer calls while gaming.
On MIUI 12 and now, 12.5, this feature doesn't exist on the Poco F3, whoever, it exists for example on the Xiaomi mi 11 according to the internet.
I know the phone has to be setup to use VoltE, which is enabled, but still, that feature is vanished (and I know VoltE is supported since I actually used it while on MIUI 11).
Any way, or third party app, to enable this feature again? Asked the question on the Poco Community and Xiaomi forum but it's been like 15 days without answers and looking on the internet I only find posts asking this same question and no solutions.

I input that code and it said "voLTE carrier check disabled".
On my sim card, voLTE is enabled (as it was before, although it never worked).
I'm gonna try to test it out and see how it goes.
Thanks for the help!

ignore that toast and just go to the settings sim card and you'll find an option to to enable or disable voLTE
How to get VoLTE/VoWIFI of 9RT to work on T-mobile or Verizon (Visible)?
Actually, 9RT doesn't work on Verizon (Visible) at all.
Thank you!

I will wait for a few more days for solution until I give up 9RT and buy a Samsung S22 series.
OnePlus phones are no longer useful, at least dual sim models for U.S. users.

It won't get any better.
I was able to get 5G running when I did this:
Download 5G LTE Switcher from the Play Store. Click 5G booster. Choose NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA under Set preferred network type.
As for VoLTE, I have yet to try this method from this thread. Seems to work for others:

Cool. The 5G booster indeed enabled 5G! Thanks! - Though the speed is much worse than my newly bought S22+. 9RT got 4Mbps, S22+ got 150 Mbps.
Your referred logkit for VoLTE doesn't work for 9RT (could not install logkit for 9RT), see:
How to install logkit on 9RT
Does a logkit app exist for 9RT? On 9RT OxygenOS 11 A.05, dialing *#800# result a Feedback app instead of logkit. I tried latest logkit from following link, but first got "installing...", then got "App not installed"...

Please let me know if you figure out a solution.
BTW: International sim card roaming ib AT&T has VoLTE settings in "Sim info & settings", but U.S. domestic AT&T/T-mobile sim cards do not have such settings.

I was getting over 350 Mbps once my 5G signal was working
Good to know that the roaming sim card has that option. It just sucks that we're limited with the fact that ours truly isn't a "global rom" but an Indian rom (as they still haven't released it elsewhere) and the choices like those activates for Indian carriers, afaik.
I've followed some telegram group for the 9rt and you're right, the current logkit doesn't work for the current OOS 11. Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer.

hi, any solution to fix volte problems yet? regards
Guy can anyone help me with my 1+9RT i bought it from AliExpress, it looses network signal randomly all the time. Sometimes has sometimes hasn't, can't use my phone. And also i can't call and nobody can't reach me by regular line either. Also when i use Wi-Fi it looses signal too. T-Mobile sim card i use as a main cellular carrier. Who has similar issues? Is anyone can help me?
Hi, anyone tried to change from oxygen to color os in order to have volte? regards
No. But i think its not going to help. Its because of the phone for China region. Not for United States. But maybe i am wrong.
hi all, i bought a 9rt witn oxygen (indian i believe), after reading for some time i realized not many people have this volte problem with color, so i with the help of oneplus china customer support went from oxygen to color, it solved my problem, volte from the start, no engineering mode or other thing to do, 4g and volte calls all right, i leave the post of instruccion for it..thanks to 4pda...

I've tried to flash GSi on a Snapdragon 8Gen1 Device (OnePlus 10 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Pro), but the IMS Network is not available. When I try to call someone, the line is dead (still after setting up my APN settings).
Has someone got it working?
No one make it work...
