I recently installed the Xiaomi EU rom on my MI 11X (aliothin) (POCO F3 globally, Redmi K40 in China). I didn't root my device and the device was also play protect certified. I downloaded Google Pay app from the playstore. I tried activating my bank account using UPI, but it couldn't detect my sim to activate. I also checked the permission and gave the relevant permissions like sms, contact, phone, location, but it still didn't work. I really like this ROM, but I need to be able to use google pay as well. Please help me :'(.

Hello everyone, I'm new in this site and I want to ask you a question.
I want to buy this Xiaomi (mi a2 lite/redmi 6 pro) but I don't have a google account(i don't like those services) so i have to buy a phone which works without a google account... I prefer the mi a2 lite but if it's necessary to insert a google account I will buy the redmi 6 pro... can you help me please?
P.S. I WILL NOT CREATE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT FOR THIS PHONE so, don't reply to me that i have to buy the mi a2 lite and after create a google account without my private informations in order to start the phone with this new account...in this case I ask you to reply me some devices' name which works without a google account...Thanks to everyone!
I suppose that if you don't want to use a Google account, it's because you care for your privacy (targeted ads, NSA data harvesting, etc.)
But even if you use a phone without a Google account, on the vast majority of the phones the Google Service and Google apps are preinstalled, and they will spy on you anyway.
The best way to use a phone like you want, without Google interference, is to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM (I highly recommend LineageOS for the privacy).
Custom ROMs often comes without any Google Service or app, so you got a clean Android version after installation that doesn't need any Google account to work. But you might miss some features that only Google can provide: in fact people always install OpenGApps immediately after the ROM when they want Play Store and other Google stuff.
But if you don't want the Google Play Store, you can install apps from alternative stores like F-Droid and XDA Labs.
The problem with Mi A2 Lite is that still there aren't any custom ROMs (it still lacks the main tool to install custom ROMs, that is TWRP). So if you need a smartphone right now and you can't wait for custom ROMs to arrive for Mi A2 Lite, you better choose another device. My personal suggestion is Redmi Note 5 (whyred), that has official LineageOS support and the best hardware for the price. The second best choice is Mi A1 (official LOS support too).
You don't need a Google account for this phone.
I also decided to try my luck and get this phone with the prospect of it one day supporting Lineage OS. The device is Project Treble supported though, so you can flash what's called a GSI (generic system image) without the need for TWRP.
Though GSIs are, well, generic. Not tuned to any particular phone.
thanks BubuXP

Hello,
Recently I have received MIUI 12.1.1 Stable update with Android 11.0 into my Redmi K30 5G device (China ROM). Since then some apps (like- GBoard and certain ride sharing apps) keep showing errors - "This application requires Google Play Services, which is not installed in your system" and simply keeps crashing.
However I have latest Google Play Services (version 20.42.65) and Google Play Store (version 22.8.42) installed and most of the apps are working fine.
I can't understand what's the real issue here!
Does those applications don't have Android 11 support yet or something like that? or is it a bug of MIUI 12.1.1 ROM?

i was using the china rom and i had some error too, with the keyboard, sync, wifi debugging and etc . last friday i installed xiaomi.eu, working fine with magisk, adblock. i do recomend installing it, cause china rom is kinda limited. its a simple process, require some pacience and time, but likely in 30 minutes you will be using w/ every bloatware you can have from google.

Thanks for suggestion, but actually unlocking the bootloader is not an option for me. Also China ROM receive faster updates.

Miui 12.1.6 RGICNXM seems to work ok google services framework 11 which previously would return a provider conflict error on earlier chinese rom necessitating the use of GSF 10 that may or may not be the cause of some google apps to not work e.g google meet. You could probably try updating if flashing the eu rom is not an option.
Hello Everyone,
I too had the same issues.
I am currently using Redmi K30 5g(China ROM).
I had received an update from Xiaomi regarding Android 11.
After updating I had the same issues as you.
Best Option:
Unlock Bootloader and downgrade to Android 10 version update.
Your phone will be working fine then.
For Redmi K30 5g(CHINA ROM) I would suggest downgrading to MIUI 12.0.7.
The problem would be solved.
NOTE:
Don't forget to lock the bootloader again.
Do not update your phone again till the problem is solved.

Sorry to say but the problem still persists in MIUI 12.1.6 RGICNXM
hey guys,
since i successfully flashed my Mi Pad 5 from CN to Global Rom a new problem occured.
I lost the google play protect status and cant install apps like netflix via the playstore. manual way with apk download works fine.
is there any possibility to get the google play protect status again?
tried different methods from google instructions but they didnt work.
my bootloader is still unlocked - is this the problem? its not rooted
thx
Hi,
I had the same problem and I learned that it's a problem you have to live with if you wanna use the global ROM.
Google Play certification and Netflix DRM require the bootloader to be locked BUT if you the bootloader is locked, the global ROM won't boot on a China device.
BE CAREFUL! If you unlink your Mi account and lock the bootloader while using the global ROM, you won't be able to unlock the bootloader easily, essentially bricking the device.
In my case, I went back to the China ROM since I bought the tablet mainly to watch Netflix.
It's true some features are missing on the Chinese ROM (like Google Assistant) and I still have some Chinese text in "Search" but Netflix works perfectly and I use my phone as my daily driver so I don't really need the missing features on Xiaomi Pad 5.
My suggestion is to flash back to China ROM and stay with it. Make sure you still have your Mi account linked to the device to avoid any bricking.

Are you sure? So its safe to buy the Chinese device with global rom and just update it and itll get google certified? Seems too good to be true. The open bootloader isnt a problem?
I cant tell you what decision to make, only what worked for me. Open bootloader is not a problem.

Thank you. I really dont understand anything in this regard. Is there any chance that your device doesnt have the firmware found on a Chinese device with global rom from aliexpress? (so your experience might not be relevant here)
Question as per the topic, I'm considering buying this phone, non-NE / renoir version is not available anymore where I live. I would be grateful if someone could check if https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.unity.arcore_depth_lab is compatible. renoir is officially supported by Google Play, not sure if lisa is.

I have 11 Lite 5g NE (Lisa), bought in Europe through the mobile operator (brand new, from last Thursday)
Of course, GApps in the stock
You can find the screenshots attached - model, Google Play Services version (hence, built-in), Device certificatation, Play Protect
However, for that particular app Playstore says that it is not compatible with the device
I checked also on my old Mi 9T (similarly with MIUI 12.5.2 and Android 11), it says it is also not compatible
I don't use your app and don't know (you need to inspect) if that app is not compatible with A11, MIUI 12.5, chipset or what
