Hello,
Recently I have received MIUI 12.1.1 Stable update with Android 11.0 into my Redmi K30 5G device (China ROM). Since then some apps (like- GBoard and certain ride sharing apps) keep showing errors - "This application requires Google Play Services, which is not installed in your system" and simply keeps crashing.
However I have latest Google Play Services (version 20.42.65) and Google Play Store (version 22.8.42) installed and most of the apps are working fine.
I can't understand what's the real issue here!
Does those applications don't have Android 11 support yet or something like that? or is it a bug of MIUI 12.1.1 ROM?

i was using the china rom and i had some error too, with the keyboard, sync, wifi debugging and etc . last friday i installed xiaomi.eu, working fine with magisk, adblock. i do recomend installing it, cause china rom is kinda limited. its a simple process, require some pacience and time, but likely in 30 minutes you will be using w/ every bloatware you can have from google.

Thanks for suggestion, but actually unlocking the bootloader is not an option for me. Also China ROM receive faster updates.

Miui 12.1.6 RGICNXM seems to work ok google services framework 11 which previously would return a provider conflict error on earlier chinese rom necessitating the use of GSF 10 that may or may not be the cause of some google apps to not work e.g google meet. You could probably try updating if flashing the eu rom is not an option.
Hello Everyone,
I too had the same issues.
I am currently using Redmi K30 5g(China ROM).
I had received an update from Xiaomi regarding Android 11.
After updating I had the same issues as you.
Best Option:
Unlock Bootloader and downgrade to Android 10 version update.
Your phone will be working fine then.
For Redmi K30 5g(CHINA ROM) I would suggest downgrading to MIUI 12.0.7.
The problem would be solved.
NOTE:
Don't forget to lock the bootloader again.
Do not update your phone again till the problem is solved.

No, MIUI 9 is still in beta. So you are running the right rom version

I am running 7.9.27 Version and it works smooth. Chinese apps can be very easily remove. For global Version you need unlock bootloader.
I will wait till the official Global from MI just received the 8.5.5.0 update
I'm actually liking the China stable ROM. With the new updated Google installer app, it's super easy getting gapps on here. It used to be a pain to get Google apps running properly on Nougat MIUI.

Heya,
updating manually to MIUI 9 doesn't grant root though, right? Do we have to unlock the bootloader for sure in order to achieve root?
Thanks.
I've updated to mini 9 from the Chinese rom, when loading up my music I noticed it will now not play m4a but will play mp3. M4a wont even show after loading to the phone. Any one have this happen?

You can switch from chinese to global rom(or indian rom if you want inbuilt call recording option) after unlocking bootloader and debloat it all after rooting..Or maybe just flash custom roms .

Hello Robert
I have ordered CN version Oct, and i have been using it ever since. Out of the box you will get 18w charger with adapter which is very good, i live in Bosina, both sims are working fine 4G works too. There is not much to be worried about in CN version it works great it gets latest builds of MIUI (compared to other versions). Only thing that was kinda a nitpick and kinda annoying for me from start is that you get few standard Chinese apps that you can delete, and some of main Mi apps keep giving notifications in CN like mi videos and very other few, but rarely and they can be blocked. When you power on a device for a first time and creating Mi account you will have to install gapps which you can do over integrated mi store as i can remember (just type google no need for Chinese fonts). After doing that and logging into your google account i recommend you to unlock bootloader, you will have to make a request for unlocking it takes 160+ hours for it to get approved. Install xiaomi.eu rom which is cleaned and optimized CN miui for global users with xiaomi devices and regular updates and builds. I am currently using xiaomi.eu rom its fast, it has also ability to update it with updater in system. Anyway it is up to your preference what you want from device, you can try to install global firmware without unlocked bootloader you can try, if you want or some other custom rom with unlocked bootloader.
Best regards
hey guys,
since i successfully flashed my Mi Pad 5 from CN to Global Rom a new problem occured.
I lost the google play protect status and cant install apps like netflix via the playstore. manual way with apk download works fine.
is there any possibility to get the google play protect status again?
tried different methods from google instructions but they didnt work.
my bootloader is still unlocked - is this the problem? its not rooted
thx
Hi,
I had the same problem and I learned that it's a problem you have to live with if you wanna use the global ROM.
Google Play certification and Netflix DRM require the bootloader to be locked BUT if you the bootloader is locked, the global ROM won't boot on a China device.
BE CAREFUL! If you unlink your Mi account and lock the bootloader while using the global ROM, you won't be able to unlock the bootloader easily, essentially bricking the device.
In my case, I went back to the China ROM since I bought the tablet mainly to watch Netflix.
It's true some features are missing on the Chinese ROM (like Google Assistant) and I still have some Chinese text in "Search" but Netflix works perfectly and I use my phone as my daily driver so I don't really need the missing features on Xiaomi Pad 5.
My suggestion is to flash back to China ROM and stay with it. Make sure you still have your Mi account linked to the device to avoid any bricking.

My POCO M2 Pro (6+64 GB) is still running MIUI 12.0.4.0 (QJPINXM) stable based on Android 10. It keeps saying there are no updates available but I'm pretty sure it has the requisite hardware to run Android 12, plus some sites are saying it has received the 12.5 stable based on Android 11 ROM already. I have even downloaded a MIUI 12.5 ROM (at least that's what it says) from some shady website but it keeps telling me "Update to this stable version is not allowed".
Anyone else facing the same problem? Got any solutions?

Any updates to this issue? I am also stuck with MIUI 12.0.4. Tried Resetting and reflashing stock 12.0.4 ROM. Downloaded several official ROMs that were released after aug 2021. Cannot flash any of them with the updater. Only option seems to be unlocking bootloader and trying to flash fastboot version. But I cannot unlock bootloader as my work related enterprise apps will stop working.
Has anyone been able to upgrade to Android 11 ROM on poco M2 pro?

My EU unit LE2123, i flashed the Global C48, no issues there. Yesterday when i flashed the Indian C60 the device is no longer certified under - Google PlayStore. Hence can't setup new cards. Cleared the Google Play services and playstore cache and data, rebooted the device but the issue still exists.
Any solution?

There is no workaround for that unless you Root your device and add the universal safety net magisk module and hide root afterward in Zygisk from play services and playstore.

thanks for your response, i'll wait for the next full OTA zip for either of the regions and then flash it. I don't wana root my device as its my primary driver.
Still no update other than in India for almost 2 weeks now. OnePlus really seems to only care about India now. All of their phones seen to have this issue now.
Anyone running this on a global 9 or 9 Pro unit? I flashed it and had to use the TMO COS/OOS data retention fix since it thought my device was dual SIM but I lost 5G and WiFi calling on T-Mobile in the process. Just curious if anyone was able to get these things working before I go through the arduous task of a factory reset. If not, I can live without them for now.
Edit: Cannot pass SafetyNet either. I have tried universal SafetyNet fix, I have tried Shamiko, and I have tried props config. I have only ever had to use the universal fix before so no idea why I can't pass the CTS Profile.
