They probably limited the audio so that other people can't hear the person over the phone, because the top speaker has 2 outlets.

Ok so I switched from S2 to Gnexus. And alot of things are lacking when it comes to hardware but the most significant is speaker volume. Is there a way to tweak or mod the speaker volume for notification and incoming call ringtones. Perhaps an app? Thanks.
volume+ in the market or visit the devs site for the free full version.
The free version from market doesn't work but the one on the devs site does.
Once installed change your volume to +9 or +10 and enjoy the speaker the way it should have come.

Is Google going to release a fix, or is it a hardware limitation of the speaker?
I read Volume+ does increase the volume but then the sound quality isn't that great.

Equalizer app is a superb option free in the market and doubles the speaker volume. Just max out all bands.

it works fine for me, no distortions whatsoever.
Hi..this is about low mic gain when a call is put on phone speaker rather than the earpiece...I'm not talking about the speakerphone volume but the volume that the other party hears due to the level of gain in our phone microphone... I have noticed that the mic gain is very low in speakerphone mode, such that the other person cannot even hear you unless you are very close to the phone.... basically it seems the mic gain does not increase when the call is changed from earpiece to the speakerphone..
Is somebody else experiencing this? And is there a solution?
I'm on stock ROM

Try using your EQ setting. I have Viper4android FX w/ everything set to make it as loud as possible.
Is there a way to increase the volume of the earpiece when making/receiving calls? I want it a little more loud. But only the earpiece.
Thank you!
You can do it in call settings
Done that. Any other method? The phone is rooted
I m suprised that you need increase stock volume. I checked tyoday and I need decrease volume because my earpiece is so loude that anyone who is standing near me listen exacly what person on other side is talking about hehe
In noisy environments I want to be a little louder.
So I think that you can edit your mixer.path file and change value of dx 7 position if I good remember one is for loudspeaker and one is for earpiece maybe someone else can clearify but I think its DX 7 value

What I'v found in my Xperia SP (might be the same in your device) is that I have eq and volume boost, so shouldn't be any problem.
I hope you're fine with this
Cheers!
Hello
The lowest possible speaker volume is too loud when listening to anything, Sirius or iHeart. My previous OP7P's volume was lower for the first volume setting.
Is there anything I can do to lower the decibels a bit?

Did you install the dolby atmos mod or viper4android?
Is this over wired usbc headphones, bluetooth, or the speaker?
There is a Bluetooth volume control in developer settings if it's bluetooth/headphone related.
The atmos or viper4android mods can make the volume a lot louder. I go turn my atmos from custom back to voice or movie.
It may help to post what version of android you're using and if you're rooted, for more help
Thank you App
I mentioned my op9p that, yes I'm rooted.
I'm on A112 and did install the Dolby mod you helped me with in another thread.
I am referring to the volume of the phone's speaker as I listen to Sirius, for example.

I must have missed it. I didn't recognize the name but try changing your dolby atmos setting to another preset setting or turn off "volume leveler" or "dialogue enhancer" and see how it sounds then
Thank you App
That did it. It was the volume leveler setting, I think.

Happy to help! Sorry I didn't recognize your name from the other thread or I would have said try that before asking about your viper/dolby.
I asked because I had the exact same issue. I was laying down with my kids like 'damn, this is awfully loud for volume 1' . I remembered the Dolby install earlier that day and that was my issue.
It's good to know it worked the same on a11 and a12 for future people wondering the same thing.
I had something similar happen on Viper on an older phone with my aux cable, it would sound distorted until adjusted in viper but only in my car aux. Not wired headphones or bluetooth
