Hi.
I just figured out that these packages were disabled on my Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975F):
com.sec.android.emergencylauncher
com.sec.enterprise.knox.shareddevice.keyguard
I'm running Android 10/One Ui 2.1 due to my GCams.
Does anybody know why these two packages are disabled?? Is there a way via ADB maybe to prevent these two to become disabled?
I certainly didn't disable them, maybe the device does that by itself? A little weird for my taste..
Also I almost had a bricked phone due to this Emergency Launcher being disabled, when I tried using Ultra saving power mode....
I attached a screenshot of my Alliance Shield X disabled apps.
Thanks in advance.
Check to see what's listed as system administrator... yes, yes there is the cause
More than likely you inadvertently disabled a needed dependency.
Boot loops aren't much fun... known what you're disabling before you disable it especially with system apks

Since this is my first android smartphone, I'm trying to figure out what background apps I can disable to keep my Note 2 running to the best of its abilities.
I've already disabled S-Voice and turned off its double-tap home button feature. I've disabled most of the obvious AT&T-branded apps as well.
However some apps are running on my device that I'm unsure whether or not they can be disabled:
Media Hub
AllShare Service
Samsung Push Service
S Suggest
AvrcpServiceSamsung
Media
MAPServiceSamsung
GlanceViewMk
SecPhone
Also, it looks like Maps is running at times when I haven't even launched the app. Should I just not worry about that?

The Note 2 is a beast and can seemingly handle anything I've thrown at it. I don't think S-Voice runs in the background as an active process so there's no reason to disable that unless you just won't ever use it. Most of the other apps you listed are system apps and can't be removed/disabled without rooting the phone first. If you want superior performance and battery life, you should consider rooting and flashing the latest CleanROM. The developer of CleanROM removed all of the unnecessary bloat that AT&T and Samsung installed and did some tweaks in the background to improve efficiency. You can check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986893
As far as maps running when you haven't launched it, it should do that if you have location services turned on for the phone and/or other apps.
I read some days ago about how simply having Multi window functionality slows down the system a lot - even while not in use.
Today I finally rooted my Tab S 10.5 LTE and I'd like to remove that function, but I can't find what to freeze on titanium backup anymore.
Does anyone know this?
Thanks.
I disabled it under settings. But probably a different rom it needed to gain on performance.

To be honest I have really no clue how to work with roms and that kind of stuff. The best I'm able to do is freeze apps with titanium backup.
Now I manually deleted the multi-window apk, and I see some improvement - though it may be psychological.
Random fact, putting the apk file back in there doesn't make the multi-window work anymore - not that I care, but still.
I think it is psychological.
My tab got very speedy by just installing Selamba ROM (does support multi window) and Skyhigh Kernel.
Turning it off is enough, it wont run in background anymore
I get this twice every time I boot the phone. I'm running the latest firmware. Rooted via the previous pre-rooted image. Seems to happen when I freeze any system app in Titanium. Even if it's something that seems minor, like Clock. On that note, I'd recommend the stock clock over the ASUS one, even if just for the ability to dismiss future alarms.
Unrelated, but does the Xposed module 'App Settings' work for anyone? The DPI/font scale/resolution changes don't do anything for me.
I can't wait for this bootloader to get unlocked so we can get some 64-bit AOSP/stock ROM on this phone.
AOSP for Zenfone 2 needed badly !
This is a great phone but the only negative is too much bloatware.
I wish we had some AOSP 64-bit ROM for Zenfone 2.
Any idea how to build it ?

64 bit kernel might be a problem to build for a given ROM
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
I used to have this problem after the last update. Specially after boot this message would come twice and every time i open power saver it crashes. Deleting the data solved the problem. Now i know any disabled system app will cause this. Thanks man.
+1 Clearing Dalvik and app cache fixed my issue. :good: This can also stem from disabling core Asus or Android services/apps and that is what you did.
Wakelock blockers apps can also cause this and may even cause random reboots or freezing if core wakelocks are blocked. Other wakelocks are required to receive instant calls/texts and sync emails/time/etc too.
You should never disable clock, as other xda users pointed out, removing the clock app will in addition cause issues with the power saving app.
Do you know that there is a forum search button on your right? Anyway, here is how to easily change DPI, Resolution etc without root on the fly with a single command in adb or terminal that survives reboots.

Whats not working with Asus Clock app? I use it for timing, alarms and international clocks, it works fine.
Asus rep stated in xda forums that they are working on a fully x64 Android OS. Currently, only the Kernel is x64.
I've been using Greenify for a while now on previous phones, but knowing about battery management options in Nougat and Oreo, I wonder if using it is still beneficial on the S9. So, any advice or feedback is more than welcome!
I was wondering the same.
I wouldn't explicitly say it's a necessity anymore since it literally asks you to put anything you don't use into sleep / hibernation mode, where it won't run in the background until you activate it yourself again.
I'm not sure how this works with notifications from Facebook, etc, but... hey.
And I don't think system bloatware can be touched by it, but this is why you use BK Package Manager or Package Disabler Pro + (both work for non-rooted.)

Thanks for your feedback. It'd be good to have the app dev answer this in greater detail, to see pros and cons of Oreo battery management vs. Greenify. As for using bloatware disablers on the S9, I still haven't checked any out.
Coming from the S7, I have to say I'm really impressed with Oreo and the S9's battery optimization so far. It gives you a notification whenever a background app is using battery, and it seems to have optimized "Android System" and "Android OS" which was always a big problem for me in the past.
To add to this once again, you can also put apps into permanent sleep (basically hibernation as I said above,) and they will not be allowed to execute themselves in the background I believe. I haven't been watching my processes, but they indeed never get asked to be put to sleep again by the system and aren't shown to be using battery. That said, I'm thoroughly impressed; it's just a shame you can't disable some system apps. Hopefully in the near future we'll have a mod that'll let system apps show up in the sleep menu.

The overview on the update sounds like a standard developer trying to get the audience's attention for how important the app is.
However, there's no mention of Oreo's built in Power Saving / Sleep functions at all, which leads me to believe there's little to no benefit other than automated tasks.

In my opinion it's device dependent since nougat as well as software version, freeze applications you don't use, changing what notifications you receive is more successful saving the battery than Greenify on my devices, all HTC had less successful on Samsung with identical settings, there is too many viable even with identical devices as you can be lucky or unlucky, as all manufacturing has tolerances
I didn't try with Oreo, but with Nougat (Resurrection Remix) on my G2 D802 I had to install Greenify to force aggressive Doze, otherwise Doze didn't often kick in, plus android alone could not stop a couple of apps, so I think it really depends on what ROM and apps are installed on the device.
Hi,
Is there a list with safe to remove package list for this device?
By the way, how long does you battery last and does you phone get hot easily? I disabled most of the things I could that I don't use, tried limiting background processes, disabled 120 Hz, but phone is still getting hot from not so demanding actions. Also, the battery life seems to be quite short.
I've had good results using the following guide. I have not encountered a single issue at all since doing an 'extreme debloat' a few weeks ago.

I mainly focused on the 'Removing Bloatware' section of that guide. There is a debloat preset for use with ADB AppControl at the bottom of first post.
Note: SoundAlive service restores Dolby Atmos support (if you notice it missing after debloat). Search for it among the deleted items in AppControl, right-click and restore.
This is the list of ALL WHAT CAN BE REMOVED WITHOUT GETTING A BOOTLOOP, just load it and UNCHECK ALL APPS/FEATURES YOU NEED
