GCam port with time-lapse, saves individual images - Google Camera Mods

I am using 5.0 MJL port for OnePlus 6. It does an excellent time-lapse (for me) but does not save individual images.
Is there any port compatible with OnePlus 6 that saves individual images while shooting a time-lapse?
Thanks in advance.

[GCAM MOD] PIXELCAM

PixelCam Origin
To tell how PixelCam came about, we need to go back a little bit in time.
The year was 2019. Jairo Rossi always had input devices, and that prevented him from using any Gcam mod, which required at least intermediate hardware.
After joining a Brazilian group on Gcams, he noticed that Nathan, one of our administrators, posted a photo taken from a Gcam, using the Lenovo K6 Plus with Custom ROM.
Knowing this, Jairo Rossi went after a K6 Plus that was not in use at a relative's house, and did all the root process and installation of a Custom ROM 64Bit.
But there was a catch: most of the available Gcams did not fully function on the K6 Plus, with the exception of the Urnyx bases. The only obstacle was the front camera that was greenish, regardless of the settings.
It was at that moment that Jairo Rossi approached Urnyx on Telegram to ask if he could fix this bug. Faced with Urnyx's denial on account of the device being input, Jairo Rossi then tried another approach: learn from Urnyx about how to modify the Gcam to be able to correct this error and even make the modifications themselves.
After the entire learning process, with a lot of persistence from Jairo Rossi and Urnyx's willingness to help, a correction was made to the front of the K6 Plus.
With all the knowledge acquired, Jairo Rossi started to research and modify everything that was necessary to make the modifications and corrections. Each change to an item in the settings menu sounded like a victory!
Feeling the need for better hardware than the K6 Plus, Jairo Rossi once again comes across a picture of Nathan in the Gcam group. The device was a Zenfone Max Pro M1.
Then, Jairo Rossi acquired this same device, with more advanced hardware, and started making more significant changes. There came Gcams like Thor, Odin, a group to promote this work, all based on Gcam 6.2.
At this time of Zenfone, Jairo Rossi joined his project with another project based on Gcam, which was where HyperCam emerged.
After working at Hypercam and leaving it with wide compatibility with several devices, and a very good quality, Jairo Rossi, together with the encouragement and partnership of Oswaldo Venâncio from the Morpheu Tech channel on YouTube, decided to head for another, even more ambitious project: PixelCam.
With PixelCam, Jairo Rossi was able to keep Gcam up to date, using the latest bases, and adding even more really useful functions. And now you all know the superior quality of PixelCam, with absurd clarity and unparalleled quality in the most adverse scenarios we have, such as environments with very low light. All this thanks to the dedication of Jairo Rossi, the creation of the XML files of the administrators and all the dedication of the BetaCam beta testers.

Question Gcam XML configs for OnePlus 9 Pro (seamless zoom, library etc)

Hi everyone, I have been using BSG Gcam on my OnePlus 9 Pro as I heard it's most stable but was wondering if anyone had a good config file that allows zoom between different lenses without needing to restart the camera app, and has a seamless transition between them?
Also if there is one that has ultra wide at 4k60 but wide at 4k30 by default that would be great, as currently it always seems to default to 4k60 on the wide main cam which makes it crash.
Thanks!
Oh yes, I noticed there's an option for libraries. Does that mean it's possible to export the OOS camera library and import it to Gcam to get the hasselblad colour processing?
Just wanted to bump. Especially wondering about the image processing library option When comparing the images from the OOS cam to GCam the images look a bit desaturated and flat (which is pixel style) but would be really curious to see GCam with OP colours
Another bump here
Check out the current discussion on this topic.

Currently, there is no support for GCAM to take 4K videos for oos12 or 12-based custom roms!

Question Question about photo image size

Hi guys, I have a problem regarding Pixel 6Pro photo image size. not sure if any of you might have already noticed.
Image size of my previous Pixel 4XL is generally around 3-4MB. However the image size of Pixel 6 Pro is generally around 2-3MB. Photos taken from both phones are in 4:3 with full resolutions in Google Camera settings.
One more interesting discovery is, once I make any tiny adjustment in edit mode (e.g. increase brightness by 1), the photo size is immediately boosted up to 8-10MB from a photo having original size of around 3MB. Also, I found that the image is not very detailed when I take a steady picture of flower under great weather, when compared to iPhone 13 Pro. Lots of details of the flowers are lost.
I personally expect and indeed prefer having the larger image size right after capturing, as it might theoretically include finer image details.
Hi @junocaj. You can always enable JPG+RAW saving in Advanced Settings, although from my understanding, working with RAW files really requires a lot of professional work, as by default it won't look as good as the JPG (or other image formats - not that there's a choice for other formats with the Google Camera app).
You can also try a different camera app and see if you like the results better, although the Google Camera app will likely have new features from time to time that gives it some advantages. It all depends on what you, as a user, want the most out of your camera app.
@roirraW "edor" ehT . Yeah, I understand that can enable JPG+RAW for professional photo editing.
just that I am a little confused on why the image size of a 3MB picture can be boosted up to 8-10MB right after a super minor editing. It appears to me that the picture size is originally 8-10MB, just that for some reason it is compressed down to 3MB, even I have set the resolution to be full resolution in settings.
Ain't sure if the details of the picture is erased by such compression by the AI. The reason I raised this observation was that one day I used iPhone 13Pro to take a picture at the same spot together with P6P, iPhone output a jpg of around 10MB directly, and lots of details is maintained, while the picture of P6P is around 2-3MB.
@junocaj As to the smaller size of the original file, it could be a change in the JPEG compression they use. Sometimes only lowering the JPEG compression value by a little bit results in a much smaller size while still looking good. Also, the AI possibility as you mention - i.e. maybe on the P6P the Google Camera app is able to routinely save JPEGs at the same compression setting as on previous Pixels but with AI work is still able to reduce the size.
There are several possibilities for the change in size. The new file could be including the editing steps you took - so that you can restore the original. It could also be keeping the edited file in a less compressed state for some reason.
All that above is just speculation on my part.
Sizes of image files definitely aren't the final determination in quality, either. Even a PNG file (not talking about on the phone) can be optimized and take up a lot less space while losing zero data compared to the original file.
I have noticed this too. The P6pros pictures are heavily compressed. I have pictures from my Nexus 6p and pixel 2 that are larger size with fewer artifacts.
One way was to use a Gcam mod that has jpeg picture size selection. At 100% quality the jpegs are 8-13MB. This really does help with details.

@86rickard would you mind sharing where could I get this gcam mod?
I'm guessing Google have set the compression around 80%, mine are always 2.5MB to 4.5MB dependant on how many colours are in the image, very similar to the size they were from my Pixel 5 which given the image is all but the same size isn't a surprise.
I have never understood why all the phone makers cant just include a compression slider and let the user choose. Re-editing a compressed photo and resaving it and it being significantly bigger is par for the course, that's nothing new.
All that said i cant say my photos are absolutely terrible or full of artefacts even after Google Photos has compressed them even further.

Playing with the gcam mod above its about 30-50%. Depending on the details in the image. It looks like the camera app is choosing a compression rate based on details too.
Needless to say in low light, noise reduction and jpeg compression make for a poor image.
@86rickard Great! thanks very much!
Found that the latest version that have the JPG quality option is the Gcam_8.3.252_V2.0_MWP one. Perfect to have the uncompressed output! I will try it out more comparing this mod against the stock gcam, lovely.

the MWP Pixel gcam mod is great (use the first non-beta in the list)
You can force higher quality and HDR+ enhanced (and also change the custom libs option to MWP_xHDR in Mod Settings). this mod is a gamechanger for the 6 series.
I wonder how long it will be before they start sending cease and desist letters to distributors of these hacked versions of gcam like they did for utube?
Another option besides these that will work for a lot of people, is to use alternate camera software. GrapheneOS Camera, for example, works very well. Its not as "feature rich" as gcam maybe, but the default compression is less, and you can override the default by specifying a jpeg quality level.
my p6 pro is my first pixel. i noticed something that might answer your question. when you save a photo after editing it, the default is to save with the ability to revert to original. if you select save as a copy, the original data is not included in the file.

Yeah I think the issue with YouTube was the lack of ads Google was losing money on. There are no ads in Gcam but stupid stuff happens and one will never know what a big tech company may do in the future

Well that's low light for you, unless you are letting the phone do its stacking magic sensor noise as the ISO increases will get worse and worse which then makes everything else a problem. Upping the ISO on a digital camera isn't like it was with film, all you are doing is pushing the exposure which then brings any noise and artefacts to in to view, you aren't making anything more sensitive and it isn't doing anything you couldn't do with the exposure slider in an editing package.
I am sure Google will tweak it in the months to come but i'd sure like the option to lower compression in the standard app or better still save night shots as a PNG so there is no banding in the image, maybe it is time to bite the bullet and introduce HEIC.

HDR+ enhanced has to be enabled. The ISO/exposure adjustment won't work on ZSL (zero shutter lag) aka HDR+. Should work in Night Sight mode as well.

How in the world did you get a photo from pixel 6 pro over 1 MB in size... I took a beautiful full rainbow shot, which looks nice, but when I downloaded it it was only 116 kb in size. Way to small for my tastes. 1036 x 780. Very disappointed and can't find any settings except for higher resolution which is selected.

Question GCAM for Op 11

Hi all,
I plan to get an OP 11 . Had an OP 9 before for a very short while so very new to OnePlus. Is there a GCAM app availaible ? & how good is it?
Also interested in this as I am in the same boat and the camera software/quality is all that's holding me back.
I thought I heard that GCam support stopped a few generations ago, however I could be misinformed as I have been out of the loop recently. Also I imagine that could have been talking about "official support" or smth (?), which luckily means nothing here as unofficial ports and apks are plentiful.
Gcam does work if you use a codeaurora variant from some of the popular modders featured on Celso Azevedo's Gcam Hub. Interestingly, I haven't been able to get any of the aux cameras working even with tinkering.
I suspect this is not intentional though. OnePlus acknowledged a recent update that broke Gcam compatibility with the oneplus 9 and eventually came out with a firmware update restoring the compatibility. They are definitely NOT anti-gcam. Im assuming the devs with Gcam mods will have aux working fairly soon.
I can confirm that gcam by By Shamim SGCAM_8.7.250.XX.44_STABLE_V4_ONEPLUS_PACKAGE.apk works. if any one finds one that is better let us know..
After rooting op11, I installed gcam By Shamim SGCAM_8.7.250.XX.44_STABLE_V4_ONEPLUS_PACKAGE.apk works well for main camera and front camera but none of the other cameras works.
I heard that OnePlus restrict the other cameras. Is there a magisk modular to fix that ??

What I really don't understand is that OnePlus recently brought back Aux cameras access to the 9 Pro with recent updates but then the 11 doesn't allow Aux access. It's like they haven't had the chance to fix the Color OS restrictions yet since they copy pasted the code. Kinda frustrating.

OnePlus got to realize there is no value in restrictions. The reason most of us choose android over iOS is the freedom to customize.

General Google Camera (GCam) for Xiaomi 11T

Google Camera config, lib and advice sharing topic for Xiaomi 11T.
Although our device uses Mediatek, it can run Google camera. Viewfinder looks laggy but it has no effect on photo quality.
After a little research, I saw that the MGC_8.7.250_A11_V11 port did not give bad results. But a little fiddling with the settings is necessary because I can't say it's better than miui camera.
Edit: Wyroczen's Redmi Note 8 Pro version GCam_RN8P_Wyroczen_7.3.020_2.0.apk works. I am sharing my own xml for it. You can easily modify it according to your needs.
Good:
I turned down the noise reduction a bit. The increase in detail can be seen in all the photos you take. There is noticeably more detail in 2x zoom photos. You get more details from the shadows.
Bad:
I recommend using Miui camera for HDR-demanding situations (when the contrast of the scene exceeds your camera's dynamic range. In other words, when you have trouble balancing a photo's light). It just gives more appealing results. The front cam crashes sometimes.

Hello
Does this work on GSI ROMs? It seems like there is no good Camera App for GSIs. The Camera is important for me so if there is no good Camera I'll go back to Stock ROM. I'd love to have 108mp but a great Camera would be enough. And you didn't attach any of the APK.
Thanks in advance
