I unlocked eh bootloader , installed twrp then after flashing magisk ,I got a bootloop.
Afterwards i tried to flash the stock rom ,but I got the mismatching device and rom error, so decided to install a custom rom .
After I installed pixel experience P and THE SYSTEM IS DESTROYED.
So I went back to the stock rom and edited the Flash_all.bat file removing everything but the flash commands.
now I have bricked phone and I can't enter EDL mode . when I plugg it in Usb I get HS-USB Diagnostics 900E.
Any suggestion is welcome
Can you enter fastboot unlock the bootloader and then reboot to edl via fastboot?

Just go to fastboot mode and type: "fastboot oem edl"
If you canĀ“t enter fastboot, you have to open your phone and connect the testpoints, then connect cable to pc and releas the test-points
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhsRv42rsqI - here for the redmi 6 pro (same hw as mi a2 lite) - in min 2, the test points are shown!

1- install mi flash tool and Qualcomm driver on your Pc
2- open the phone (just remove the battery connector )
3-plug a USB cable in the device
4- short the jtag pins(you can find their location in this page www mobilerdx com/2018/09/xiaomi-redmi-6-pro-test-point-boot-into-edl-9008-mode.html
7-plug the USB cable in the Pc while shortening the pins
If you do these steps mi flash tool should reconize your device and you will be able to flash it
hey guys after having bricked mi daisy i have partially fixed it thanks to the edl mode, now i can enter in fastboot mode but the phone doesn't boot. I had tried to reflash the rom trough fastboot but i receive the error "missmatching image and device", and if i try to write fastboot getvar anti on cmd i receive "anti: ", without any number.
I tried many times but without success, both in edl and in fastboot. In linux the flash trough fastboot started a couple of times, but without success.
Anyone know how to do? Maybe try to edit the flash_all file? I don't want to do other mistakes

Hey guys
My device is bricked .no fastboot no recovery and when I connect it to PC it's not showing on device manager.
Any suggestion?
It would be better to be more specific on how you bricked the device.
Does the device turn on and hang on a specific step or it is dead at all?
BTW, did you already tried to use Qualcomm Flash tools to get the device recognized from your PC?
You can also try with MiFlash or MiTool as well.
The phone has to be opened from the back and you can flash from the fast boot via Test Point and EDL MODE.
There is training on YouTube.

Would you mind to a little more specific?
At which point the device broke? It is stuck at boot logo? If you flashed a miui twrp backup probably vendor or firmware are mismatching.

Did you try to restore Data partition only, or did you try a full wipe and restoring the whole miui rom?
I think it's important for the community to know what moves can brick the device

i was in the exact same situation.
Sadly you can not flash in EDL unless you have an authorized account from xiaomi. which is unlikely that you have one. (all newer xiaomi phones need that)
you have to search for an service/people that have one.
you have to setup the phone in edl mode, and they will use teamviewer to use xiaomiflash and login and flash then.
there is an thread in mi9t pro forum, which approves such a service, (but i dont recommend that one, i used another)

Any news. I also brick my 9 SE
Hi all, on my MI9 SE , when i uninstall Magisk from app, reboot only in FASTBOOT mode , but all method to flash newer boot.img or recovery.img or entire firmware from mflashTool.... dont work....
I tryed also with ADB , but not flash nothing.
I see my device in fastboot mode (fastboot devices) but after that i have always error
"FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))"
and phone disconnect from fastboot....
Are There a method to force flash firmware? (ADB and MIFlashTool not able to prevent shutdown every command run)
thanks
Hi guys.. my whyred stucked at Mi Logo with Unlocked Text Signed below.
Sorry, i need to create a new thread because i can't find any solutions from related thread that can help me.
The Problem start when i was using my phone (with 10% free space storage i think) then it got hang (stop respond), then i push and hold the power button to restart my whyred and then my phone stuck at Mi Logo as i told above;
Condition now :
1. Type : Whyred; Global Stable Rom; ARB 4; No Recovery (such as TWRP etc)
2. It can still get into fastboot mode
3. Unlocked Bootloader
4. Unable to get into recovery mode.
5. Unable to get into EDL Mode
6. Status fastboot oem device-info :
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: true
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
I have done some trial, and it always ends with error, such as :
1. Get the phone into fastboot mode and flash the latest Rom (Global & China) using Mi Flash, the result is some kind "error : write protected"
2. Get the phone into fastboot mode and using adb fastboot do :
- flash any recovery (TWRP) using adb (fastboot flash recovery twrp.img), the result is "error : write protected"
- flash boot.img from Latest Firmware partition using adb (fastboot flash boot boot.img), the result is "error : write protected"
3. Get the phone into the EDL Mode using Test Point (with battery been connected), it has been detected as qloader 9008 and Mi Flash can detect it as a COM Port, but when i flashed it with the latest ROM (Global and China), it ends with error too.
4. Get the phone into recovery mode using "fastboot boot twrp.img" and the result is the twrp just appear as a start screen without any button, so i can't operate the twrp.
5. Get the phone into recovery mode using "fastboot boot recovery.img" (recovery.img from Stock Firmware) and the result is the the phone success got into recovery, i did wipe data, the indicator showed the progress but it stuck without success sign, so i restart the phone using power button and the problem still persist.
Please, any suggestion will help much, i just dont know what to do anymore, i don't plan to bring it to service center because it will make an expensive price.
i am so sorry i am unable post any picture because i dont have any other phone.
Please any help guys..

Tryon orangefox recovery
Did you use the dummy.img to bypass arb protection?
You can try orange fox recovery.
Download it, then flash dummy with command "fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img" , after that try to boot orange fox recovery with "fastboot boot recovery.img"
Result is the same, flash antirbpass dummy.img done but flash recovery (even orangefox) got error : remote : error flashing partition : write protected.
When try boot with flash boot orangefox, the result is only the logo orangefox screen appear.

But it's not work on my device
I don't know why, but I have tried this 2 things :
"Fastboot flash userdata userdata.img"
It finished successfully
But when I tried
"Fastboot flash recovery xxx.img"
It failed because error write partition.
That's why I think that there must be a solution to pass the write protected error..

I have tried 2 trial "Fastboot boot xxx.img" and it gave me 2 results :
1. If xxx img is twrp, it can only show the begining screen (if twrp) without any button.
2. If xxx.img is stock recovery, it can only give wipe data that will stuck at 99.99%.
Both of it has not given access to copy from PC into phone.

Try clean flashing and locking bootloader in mi flash tool, then unlock bootloader and booting into recovery. I recommend getting latest version of MIUI in your device before booting into recovery. If you want, before this, try pitchblack recovery also. If it works, no need to install MIUI.

Yes, I tried all standard procedure...TWRP RECOVERY, FLASH ROM etc...
The finally msg it's same "write protected".

If you try to flash using MI flash tool, i.e, use clean all and flash option in mi flash tool. It will succeed. If it doesn't, you may have to use other method.

Me also faced this issue on my whyred last week. I read through the comments and find me faced exactly the same bricking. 'write protected' message on fastboot flasing, twrp and orangefox booting only to its logo, able to boot into stock recovery but wiping data stuck on 99.99 %. etc..
I also tried the recovery method by using miflas pro , Edl flash (not worked due to the authentication or device storage emmc corrupted) but no luck. Finally i give up on flashing and went to the service center. They tried to flash the software but no luck. They said the internal memory emmc got currupted , so need to replace it. Now i am waiting for the device for one week. I will let you know whether it will working or not.
I would like to know one thing..
Which Rom and Kernel are you using when the phone was bricked. My phone also bricked like the same way as you said in the OP.
https://files.orangefox.tech/OrangeFox-Stable/whyred/
Try Flashing zip recovery from recovery mode.
This happen to me 2 day ago.same like the user mention.screen freeze and then when restart it stuck forever on splash image.twrp also stuck on start image.read from 1 user from indonesia.he also have this symtom and the mi technician said ic cpu got damage.so guys.whether u have to change motherbod or buy new phone its up to you.but i suggesting buy a new phone.move on..changing mother price is u can get new phone with better chipset.hope this will known to other user that have this problem.i also don know what to call this phone symtom.. hardbricked faker?.fyi i already oder note 9s.but i really love reno5 huhu.so sad it cant be fix.
Same happened to me last week, tried all methods like OP but no luck so gave up and ordered redmi note 9 pro (64mp). But i miss my rn5 pro so much ?
Probably emmc or cpu got corrupted for no reason, shame on you xiaomi but i couldnt give you up ?
Hello,
I'm using Redmi Note 5 pro. Recently my device went on boot loop. Whenever I tried to restart, it was showing MI Logo for long time, nothing happens. I'm not able to enter into recovery mode as well (Vol Up + Power). But I can go to Fastboot mode (Vol down + power key).
Mine is not bootloader unlocked and I dont think I have enabled OEM Unlocking from the settings.
I tried downloading the ROM from below URL (Rom for Fastboot flash) -> whyred_global_images_V11.0.3.0.PEIMIXM_20191108.0000.00_9.0_global
http://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=whyred_global&b=F&r=global&n=
When I check, whether the fastboot devices is showing mine or not, I can see my device listed
In another forum, I can across this, before flashing using MiFlash, they asked to download the Edl.cmd file from the below link and run it. I did that as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../guide-how-to-reboot-to-edl-fastboot-t3394292
After that, when I select the downloaded ROM, and try to flash it with MiFlash (v2019.12.6.0), it keep showing the below line. but its not getting errored out. progress bar keeps going till the end but it stays with the below status. Attached the screenshot as well.
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *whyred" || echo Missmatching image and device
Any help with will be much helpful! Thanks in advance!

The way i see is Edl flash mode (wait for a proper answer)
I accidentally locked my chinese whyred while flashing global rom using miflash.
The only thing that worked for me was EDL flash chinese rom using QFIL following the tutorial here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/fix-arb-bricked-device-qfil-t3841780
I had to use chinese rom for 360 hours until I could unlock the bootloader again.
You need to flash the rom version that matches your device origin (global, china, india, russia, etc..)

Hello, Thanks for letting me know about this method. I tried this but I'm not able to find my devices showing in Device Manager as "qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008" (I'm trying with fastboot mode as am not able to go to Recovery mode)

You're in fastboot. not EDL mode.
EDL Testpoint - https://youtu.be/dYVR5BgNwG0
Connect the usb cable to both phone and pc, disconnect the battery flex cable, short the two EDL testpoint, and connect the battery flex cable. it will take some practice.
Also, there is a limited time in EDL mode to start flashing, if you too late you will have to repeat again.
Use this tutorial https://youtu.be/ikGsxf_s-zw
It seems shorting pins and edl flashing is the only way for reviving ur phone pal
Good luck
