Poco launcher slowness - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I am using a Redmi Note 5 (whyred) with the latest standard MIUI Global 11.0.3.0. I installed Poco launcher quite a while ago and have been satisfied with its performance. However, the launcher has been behaving oddly lately. Sometimes, after using an app when you return to the 'desktop'/main screen, the screen will go blank (all you see is wallpaper) and it will take 6-10 seconds before you see any icons or have any control over the device again. It does not happen all the time and I have not found any correlation yet with any other program. I upgraded Poco to the latest version I know of, 2.7.4.18. It didn't fix this behavior. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!

[Q] Nova Launcher forgets app folder settings

Running the recently released nightly variant of CM 10.1 with Nova Launcher Prime.
Whenever the phone shuts off, Nova Launcher seems to forget where apps go in their folders. I'm noticing this is happening primarily with apps that are located in the "SD card".
Anyone else experiencing anything like this? Any fixes?
At this point I'm thinking it may be due to CM 10.1, and that I may have to go to a Sense ROM. To add to the Nova Launcher woes, I've also had several issues with significant lag and random reboots (both with unofficial CM variants and the recently released nightlies). Damn shame too, the phone absolutely FLIES on CM 10.1 when it's working properly (it smokes my Nexus 7 by a landslide).
Thanks for the help, guys.

I have the same problem and wish someone could answer. I'm using an SGS2 and the issue has happened both on CM 10.1 AND SuperNexus Rom [which I think has some elements of CM in it].
I can't figure out what triggers it. It's extremely annoying. I love Nova but it's making me want to change.

miui 10 quick settings blurriness

the blurriness in the quick settings always annoyed me, I thought it's part of the "miui 10 package". but today I saw a video of redmi 4x miui 10 and there was no blur, is there a way to turn it off?
Possibly a slightly different version of miui 10. Remember that a group of devices may be upgraded to miui 9, 10, etc but for some, the underlying Android version may not be updated so they don't get all the new features.

Is there any way to go back to Color OS from UI?

I've updated today and I totally hate Realme UI, but I'm not gonna bother you with why.
Is it any possible way to roll back to Color OS 6.1 on the EU version of the X2 (non Pro)? I've been searching for the past hour and found nothing clear.
which problems have you found on realme ui?

best stutter-free rom

Hello I'm a redmi note 8 4/64gb user. I bought the chinese version six months ago and flashed it to the indian version, still MIUI though.
But after about 3 to 4 months of using i started to notice stutters and occasional force closing of apps/games now and then.
furthermore, when i use an app for a lomg period and then go back to home (to make a call or take a note), the system launcher takes a Long time to respond and it just shows my wallpaper, the homescreen takes a lot of time to load.
Because of this I'm sick of MIUI and it's ram management. Now i want to know what will be the best rom in which I'll never have to deal with the above problems.
In short, i want a stutter-free, anti-forceclosing and good ram management ROM for my redmi note 8 4/64.
PS: it would be better if that rom had a an option to manually control network like gsm only or LTE/WCDMA or LTE only
and suggestions?
Lineage OS 16 (android 9) by darkjoker is a brilliant option for what you're asking for. No stutters, rootable up to the latest version of magisk and ram management seems perfect.
Hope this helped.

General [MIUI13][EEA][Android 12] Anything fixed/broken in the POCO F3 Official EEA Update SKHEUXM 13.0.4.0

Hi, just posting this in order to have more information on this update, the changelog states only an update of the security patch up to February 2022 security patches, nothing else is said.
I've seen a few bugs on 13.0.3.0 such as bubbles of chat cannot be closed when in landscape, you must go in portrait orientation to close the bubble of chat.
But I don't know if anything has changed about Battery Life, I haven't had issues with the 120hz/60hz refresh rate of the screen so far.
I hope this post will help people in better knowing what the upgrade fixes and what it doesn't and also if it introduces new issues or not.
For me it fixes the incredibly laggy notification shade (on 13.0.3 it was like a slideshow, now after the 13.0.4 update is is buttery smooth). I also noticed that apps that support material you / monet now use the wallpaper color. My battery life is the same, no issues on that front.
i have a strange issue, sometime the first 4 cpu cores get stuck at 1800mhz
verified with aida64
happens randomly after long standby or long charging and increase idle power usage significantly. I have to enable and disable ultra battery saver to get them unstuck
I've also had an issue, had to reboot my POCO F3, and the update disappeared... I can't even force it manually, the update is no longer here no matter how much I check, seems like a very useful bug....
Furthermore, I'm probably going to move on to LOS 19 or DivestOS (a more secure focused fork of LOS) when we have an official support out for the POCO F3, then I'll update the firmware inside the recovery I guess

I can confirm that. Clearing Updater cache brought the update immediately.
I also did the update, but my cache must have cleaned itself alone somehow, I noticed now that some chat bubbles are even more buggy in landscape for instance.
Material You has been added, support in most apps, like for instance in a browser, your navigation bar has now an orange tint, before it did not, many apps that do support Material You, I guess are affected by this new feature.
I have no idea however where you can configure such.
