Question HELP! My sdcard partition is not showing anything on my PC. - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hi,
i use the twrp and i select format data. After that when i plug my Poco f3 in my PC (in TWRP) i see my device, i see Internal STorage but not gb NOTHING.
PLZ HELP

It happened to me on my Redmi Note 9 Pro, i asked for help, most of the people told me to format data to remove encryption to fix it, but I did it many times and with 2 recoveries capable of decryption. Nothing works, so I had no way to install my custom ROM, fortunately I remembered the RN9 Pro had an SD card slot, I copied the zip to the SD card and flash it from there and managed to install a ROM.
Once installed I was able to access internal storage again.
So in case of this phones with no SD Card Slot I don't think there's a solution, just flash again MIUI fastboot Firmware with Flash Tool and it will restart to MIUI Stock ROM.
Probably not what you want but at least you'll be able to use your phone again until someone comes up with a solution.
Sad to have new phones loosing SD card Slot and now Jack 3.5mm connector, etc.

I guess you can use OTG to do the same that @davidbejar did.

[Q] Please help. Can't mount my external SD in TWRP.

I'm sorry. I'm somewhat new at this but I'm pretty sure this isn't what's supposed to happen.
I was going to flash a new ROM to my Note 2. I backed everything up in my external SD card (Nandroid and Titanium). I did all the wipes in TWRP 2.4.3 -- Factory Reset and System-- but I also decided to "Format Data" (reformat my Internal SD) which I now regret because, when I go to install the ROM that is in my external sd card, I find that I can't mount it. When I go to reboot, it says there's no OS installed.
I still have access to TWRP. When I plug my phone to my computer though, it doesn't detect it.
Did I just brick my phone? What are my options? Can I load a ROM from my computer or something? I really need help.

Resolved the problem. I was able to mount my external SD card eventually and recover everything. Thanks.

help

Hello, I was installing this rom when I was in recovery and after making wipes, I will install the rom, and is not. or the internal memory or external, I test the external sd on other devices and is dead. not to do. I put other external card with the rom, but donĀ“t recognize it, I still think the other, I can refresh it somehow? Can I reset the Note and re-enter recovery after doing the wipes? What I can do?.
Right now I'm in openrecovery and I do not recognize the new card.
I've finally been able to fix it. thanks to all

Flashing roms via TWRP

I know this should be directed to the twrp forums but I wanted to get feedback from owners of the sprint lg g3 preferably using the CM12.1 android version 5.1.
I have always had this issue where I am unable to flash roms on my external sd card via twrp. Everytime I try (just tried again tonight), after over and hour of restoring, it was only at 10%. When I flash the same rom on the internal sd (memory) it only takes about 10 minutes to accomplish the entire restore, its the same way for backups too. I don't understand why I am unable to do backups and restores from my external sd. It is very inconvienant to keep moving the backups from external to internal and vice versa. Plus, I can never put more than 1 backup on my internal because they take up so much space (roughly 8gb). It doesn't matter what backup rom I flash it does the same thing. Has anyone else been able to flash roms from their external sd card and if so, what did you have to do to get it to work? I have sent my concerns to the twrp team with no replies back. I am just curious if others are having the same problem or if their has been a fix for this.
I am currently on version 2.8.5 of twrp.
Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on this issue? Thanks
Hey mate,
You could try installing the TWRP version for the G3 from their app, rather than just the generic version for any phone. If that doesn't work, then it sounds like your SD Card could be corrupted. I backup my whole phone to my external SD Card before I flash any updates or anything else, and can install the ROM updates from my SD Card with no problems whatsoever.
All I can really think of is either a new SD Card, or the official TWRP for the G3 from their app.

Thanks for the response. Do you have a G3 also? I have installed the official bumped version of twrp for my sprint phone and am still having issues. Just by curiousity, when you are in twrp, are you able to backup and restore directly to/from the sd card. I do not have any issues with my card other than this, I can transfer and move files, etc. I have noticed though on my 64 gb scandisk card that when it first boots up, it will say not able to retrieve location. I put a different card in the phone and that message stopped which makes me believe it has something to do with the card. That location message just started about a month or two ago.

It turns out that it was something to do with the external SD card. I replaced it with a brand new card and i am able to backup and restore to/from the external card with twrp.

External SD issue

I have an LG Optimus Pro E980 with 4.4.2, rooted with towel root.
In an attempt to install TWRP recovery today I lost access to my external sd card. Not sure what I did but earlier today I could view, copy files or delete files to my sd card from my phone or from my computer when hooked with usb and media transfer.
I had a lot of trial and error trying to get a custom recovery installed on my phone and in the process I noticed my sd card quit working.
I have rebooted, removed it, reformatted (from my computer) and still nothing changes. ES File Manager sees it (I think) but when I try to create a folder on the external sd it just says it can't. It works when I put it in another android phone so I don't think the sd card is the problem. I also tried the app on google sdfix that makes kitkat have the settings to write to the sd card. Still didn't fix my problem. It will mount or erase from the settings menu. I don't see a format or unmount option at all.
I would like to flash a new copy of 4.4.2 to my phone but I can't find instructions of how to do this that I understand . I figure this will fix my problem and I was wanting to do a wipe and clean install anyway.
Can someone please advise me? TY
Certain twrp can't access the SD disk. I know this because I have installed twrp 2.8 and I notice immediately that it can't access the external SD disk, as normally be in the directory/storage/sddisk1. Don*t ask me which twrp to use because I don't know. I've heard that some twrp can access the external SD disk and some can't without some modification. Try this one

Its been modified, so it should work without any problem. BTW, as I have said on your other topic, why are you trying to reinstall the stock KitKat that you already have? If you have issues, a factory reset, as you've already figure out, should take care of thing, unless you've erase system files. Don't take the process of flashing tot files lightly, because if one of many things go wrong, you may wish you have never know how to flash the tot file.

I just responded to your other post.

0 internal memory after removing sd card

Hi!
So i formated my sd card as internal memory, and few days later just remove it from slot and format when in other phone. Then i placed it back in my phone.
The problem is, now in file explorer it seems i have 0B/1B memory free, I can't make screenshots, make photos or download files, but i can download apps from google play.
Any ideas how to fix it? I didn't try factory reset yet, but it is last option for because phone is rooted, and i have apps that aren't backed up at google.
Device:
Xiaomi mi a2 lite
magisk rooted
no twrp
android 9 PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.10.0.PDLMIXM

As far as I can tell , when you formatted as internal storage , you have transferred the data from the main storage to SD card. Before you remove any SD card , transfer the data from the card to internal storage , then format the SD card as external from the phone. You didn't do that , so you messed up the partitions right now. For me the Factory reset is not the last , but the only option. Never take out the SD card if it's not formatted as external.
The last thing that you can try before factory reset is to try to flash the stock firmware via MiFlash tool, but you need to choose the option "save user data " from the bottom right corner of the tool, the hit the flash button. It might work. If you don't wanna use MiFlash, just decompress the stock firmware and execute this . bat file : flash_all_except_storag.bat
You can try to boot in TWRP and backup the data partition. But I'm not sure that will help, but these are the options that I can think of.
