I almost buy this til I read that it doesn't support AT&T LTE. Whew.

I'm on T-Mo, and it does not include LTE band 4 or 12, just 2/3G HSPA+ band 2, which is close to my LTE bandwidth at home (12-20Mb/s.) I don't think this phone is a good USA alternative because 2/3G can be spotty, well, that's my experience on T-Mo anyway when travelling around Seattle.

Thanks for info. Good thing I didn't buy it. Still looking for other phone that has LTE, 6.0" display or high and MIUI 8. I am on Huawei Mate 8. I get bored with it. I want something new.

I picked up a Lenovo Phab 2 Pro yesterdy (Lowes.com). Just getting it set-up and used to it. Bit of a learning curb with permissions, of which I have not encountered, but a few googles has helped me through my questions.
Huawei Mate 9 looks pretty nice, but it may or may not be released in the US, otherwise you're stuck with HSPA (2/3G) speeds. For a big phone (6"+) the Phab 2 Pro seems pretty nice. It's a tango device, but I don't care about tango, although I may play with it when I get board. It has all ATT & T-Mo bands. My speedtest verifies LTE, although the 4G indicator doesn't display LTE, it is non-the-less.

The Mi Max was the first phone in 5-6 years I hadn't rooted. I was happy with the large screen, although I was thinking a 2k display would be nice, something the Phab 2 Pro has. I might root the Phab 2 Pro, assuming it becomes available. My 3 biggest wants in a phone at present: 1) 6 inch or above display (P2P is 6.4"; 2) 2k display (P2P is 2k); and 3) a descent camera. The Phab 2 Pro has a demonstratively better camera than the Mi Max, which maybe isn't saying much (Mi Max camera is pretty bad for other than complete stills), so I am living large, as it were, at the present time.

Has anyone been able to get 4G service working for the Mix 2 on verizon. I have googled and entered in all the APN's I could find. I keep getting the error message Access Point Name settings are not available for this user. I can get 3g service to work just by inputting vzwinternet and leaving everything else undefined, but I cant get it connected to 4G. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello...Yes. Verizon LTE works fine.
If you have the APN set correctly, try going into the testing menu (Dialer -- > *#*# 4636 #*#* --> Phone Information 1/2 --> ), entering whichever "Phone Information" relates to the Verizon SIM in use, and manually switching off the "Cellular Radio Power" setting (you may have to toggle it twice as it likes to turn itself back on)...waiting 20 seconds or so...and then switching the radio power back on. I can absolutely confirm that LTE on Verizon works fine though there does seem to be some funniness with respect to the Mi Mix 2's radio firmware when it has a CDMA SIM installed.

Arghhhh...how frustrating. The APN I'm using is "vzwinternet" so it's the same as the one you'd mentioned above...plus the LTE connection should work (though it may be inactive) even with the wrong APN.
I did run into this exact same scenario when I was messing around with two Verizon SIMs just for testing purposes and it seemed like the radio toggle worked...maybe keep trying it...and doing some reboots and stuff? The only other thing I can think of is maybe trying a GSM SIM temporarily (AT&T or T-Mobile) in place of your Verizon SIM to sort of "reset" it...and then putting your Verizon SIM back in...the other possibility is toggling the network types a bit in the testing menu? Mine's on LTE/CDMA/UMTS (auto) but maybe try going to CDMA only...LTE/CDMA auto...etc. to see if you can kick the radio in the butt a bit. I swear the Mi Mix 2 can connect to all of Verizon's LTE bands just fine...I've definitely seen mine on B13, 4, and 2...so it really can work...but there's some weird thing going on in the firmware that creates this issue I believe. I also had it when I first put my Verizon SIM in though a reboot initially fixed it...sounds like yours is more persistent...
Also - try untoggling VoLTE both in the Dual SIM menu and the testing menu - I think sometimes these dual SIM phones have some issues with VoLTE sort of holding the LTE connection "hostage," even if only for emergency calls...though this is just speculation. My old Axon 7 from ZTE had this same sort of issue from time to time.

Does the bootloader need to be unlocked &/or TWRP installed to move from factory stable to the Developer ROM,or,just follow the guide in the link you provided?
With my previous Xioami devices,I never used the Dev ROMs,went straight to the Bootloader unlock > TWRP> Root > ROM of your choice route,so,just wanna get the methodology correct before proceeding.
Thanks.

No you don't need bootloader unlock to switch to the beta ROMs. You just need to download the relevant zip file and place it in a particular folder on your SD card (downloaded_rom) and then run the update manually from the settings menu. The instructions at the following URL work quite well except that I just downloaded the zip file directly to my SD card from the browser versus using a computer and then transferring it with a USB cable.

Though the developer Rom may fix the problem, I'm wondering if the Mi Mix 2's dual SIM setup is as buggy as the ZTE Axon 7's when trying to get Verizon CDMA working. With the Axon 7, you had to set it up initially with a working GSM Sim in slot 1, before you could switch over to a Verizon SIM and get it to hold the new APN and function properly. The Axon 7 was also configured such that your CDMA SIM must be in slot 1. It would not work at all in SIM slot 2. I'm thinking that these Chinese made dual sim slots may be birds made of the same feather.

Hello...I have an Axon 7 A2017U and a Mi Mix 2...I'd say the Mi Mix 2 is a bit better in this respect (I ran Verizon on my Axon 7 as well). But, I did have some of the same issues as the OP when I initially put my Verizon SIM in and a reboot and radio settings dance seemed to fix it.
However, the Mi Mix 2 generally does not have the CDMA roaming issue that the Axon 7 had, nor the '123456' carrier issue that the Axon 7 had (i.e., it shows Verizon on 3G and 1X).
So, there is some of the oddities that I ran into with the Axon still sort of present in the Mix 2 but it's not bad...I think it's related to VoLTE but that's just a guess...but all in all the Mi Mix 2 does work a bit better than the Axon 7 did with Verizon...though I never had a great deal of trouble running Verizon on the Axon 7, admittedly...I think some people had a lot more difficulty than I did for some reason.

When you loaded the Developer ROM did it wipe all the exisiting data and accounts on the phone.
I just spent two days setting the phone up, don't want to do that again.

Great post! This is really good to know, since I will be running a GSM and CDMA Sim simultaneously in the Mix 2, just like I did in my Axon 7. My Axon was very slow and flakey switching between Sims and yea, that 123456 carrier thing was for the birds. The other issue with the Axon 7 was cellular signal strength. I was getting 5 to 15 db lower signal strength everywhere and since it didn't have LTE band 12 for T-mobiles 700 Mhz channel, the in building reception was even worse. How are you finding the signal reception with the Mix 2?

Hm...my Axon 7 did have band 12 support - did you have an A2017U?
As far as the signal strength, on CDMA/EvDO and also LTE I do notice about a 3-5 dBm increase in the signal in the Mi Mix 2 vs. the Axon 7 (pictured below - Mi Mix 2 on left, Axon 7 on right...opposite in the last two pictures in case positioning had an effect on signal). Of course, the test is highly unscientific! But, yes...there does seem to be a bit better reception which maybe is due to the use of ceramic vs. metal? Not sure...or just better engineering or modem firmware optimization...not sure.

Yes, that's the model. I guess I was confusing it with one of my other phones. The LG V20 I used right after selling the Axon 7 had WAY better reception indoors so I thought it was a band 12 issue. I think the Snapdragon 835 chip with the X16 modem does a better job of optimization in the Mix 2, but I don't know if it has all the hardware- like 4 antenna mimo- for LTE CA. The ceramic is certainly more transparent to cell signals than the Axons metal chassis. Thanks for your informal "scientific" study.
These devices are sometimes a complete mystery to me. I recently bought two Redmi Note 9T devices for my household to take advantage of 5G, which they do beautifully. But here at home 5G is spotty, at best, so 4G LTE is what gets used most.
However, my device frequently goes to LTE+ while my partner's never does, and since I'm the "master configurator" for the house I know that I have never done anything with settings that should have this end result.
I have the same issue as others have reported in that the signal strength falls so substantially when the switch to LTE+ occurs that the hotspot is useless. It always resolves when I reboot the device, and it will stick with LTE for many hours but, eventually, it will always revert to LTE+.
Is there any way to prevent this without using the previously noted app? My phones are not rooted and I really have no desire to root them, as there's no need otherwise.
Both devices are running MIUI Global 12.5.2 over Android 11 with the 2021-05-01 Android security update.
P.S. Sorry for necroposting, but this is one instance where the topic is already perfect, and things do change over time.

Call tech support for your phone company and say you want them to do a line refresh. It's not you, it's them. But before you do that, enable Visual Voice Mail (or whatever app you have) and retrieve all your voice mails because the line refresh wipes them from their storage.
I had an S20 on Metro that had problems getting 5G in places that definitely had it. Then it got to where at home it would only stay on 5G for a short while. It got worse and worse to where it flat out wouldn't switch to 5G. I called support. Went through everything they could think of.
I spent $400 on another S20. SAME #^%##$^ THING! NO 5G!
I called support again and after telling them I'd bought another phone and it did just like the other one, that's when they mentioned the line refresh. Been working great ever since. And this S20 wasn't used by a 24/7 texter so it doesn't have the keyboard burned into the screen like the other one, which I just sold today for $350.

Zero issues on mine and I'm on T-Mobile. It's possible you have one with a hardware issue or possibly network issues in your area. Haven't tested on Verizon or AT&T so no idea if there's any issues with those networks on this phone.
So I have the zero issues with this phone. I absolutely love it!
Same here. Seems like it might be better on the newest (A.08), but too early to say for sure.
Using mine on Verizon, and have much better signal on this phone than I ever had with my previous phone or my wife's phone
try a factory reset. i had no issues when i had the phone
No issues with mine on AT&T - contacted Support Admin and they are supposed to push out a carrier update at the end of the month that will enable all additional features on your phone plan to function on the OnePlus 11.
I can say that Google Fi just added support for the OnePlus 11 because my ESIM just transferred over
Also my beta version of pixel 7 Pro has dual ESIM so hopefully the OnePlus 11 gets that feature too. My OnePlus 11 shows VO1 next to my connection.

Have your tried swapping to SIM 2? I've had 2 OP11 with faulty SIM 1, but SIM 2 okay. After device replacement from OP, new device has no issues.
