Hi all,
Despite the low temperature, reading ampere is still indicating overheating.
Is this happening on anyone else's phone on latest firmware?
I know the 9 has an overheating issue but the temperatures aren't matching the issues in this instance. Thanks
No you're not the only one - CPU-Z and Ampere show my battery as overheating as well. I'm not sure if this is an issue with those apps or the firmware of the phone. Mine says overheating despite low temperatures as well
Edit: You can force Ampere to ignore the"battery health" in the app's settings which is what I did.
This is a known bug since the phone was released. If you want to get rid of it, just turn on reverse charging and turn it off again, that will fix the issue for some time.

Hello there.
E4GT Running Blazer v4.0 by Phantom
On EL29 modem.
Recently plugged in my phone using possibly faulty charger for less than a second. Phone proceeded to restart. For the last few hours I've been getting a pop-up box as well as blinking LED/battery status indicator saying that charging has been paused because battery temperature is too LOW.
This happens whether charging or not. I understand from other threads that the phone will do this as a safety mechanism if charging makes the phone overheat. However, this problem is because the battery temp is too low, also whether or not it is charging.
I have restarted/rebooted the phone, reflashed the ROM as well as wiped battery stats/cache/dalvik. Problem still persists.
Oh wise and benevolent people of XDA, is there any insight you could provide on the matter?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE
Also, when I am actually charging the phone, the phone does heat up and get charged, yet it still pops up the same message.
i have the same problem. did you find a solution? Thanks

Have you tried using another battery? If you have tried our just don't have access to another one you could try wiping battery stats in CWM.
I believe I am facing an overheating issues on my N7100 while charging - the battery temp will go up to 38°C or even 39°C if i constantly check my messages and email during the charging period. I done nothing to the CPU nor the frequency and no overclocking app install.
During my normal usage, temp fluctuate between 28°C and 31°C, and that of course depends on the whether and usage activity. Is it normal for N7100 to get to that high temp? My phone will get very hot especially on the top (speaker) part.... be it during charge through the main power plug or power bank.
However, if i leave it there for it to charge. The temp will remain between 34°C and 35°C which i think is hot too. Anyone mind to provide me the correct temp scale for me to follow and take notice of for N7100. Gracias!
My M8 could not be fully charge with any power brick.
It charge my phone before I go to bed and when I woke up in the morning the battery was 52% and the charging rate is very very very slow.
My portable Battery, Sony F2L (Out 2A) which is a very quick charger, is barely supply enough power to maintain my M8's battery but not charging it.
At first I thought it was the cable, but after I change several power bricks and cables. (Power brick: Sony 2.1A, Stock HTC, Asus, LG, UE 2.1A and Cables : BlackBerry and Sony)
The problems still persist. And today I saw the power gauge dropped, while I plugged-in with Sony Power Brick.
The only way I could make it to 100% is to switch SetCPU's governor to "Power Save" mode. Normally I use "On demand" since I got the phone and I never have a problem like this before.
Please help me on this.
M8 Thai Model already RUU convert to GPE. Running GPE stock 5.1 and rooted.
Here is my battery stats. As you can see the battery slowly drop while I was charging.
I have tried battery calibration and the problem remains.
It seem after i sleep my phone for a while the signal will be drop and drain the battery. I have no idea why this is happening
Please anyone help me on this.
You have an app or something keeping your phone awake all the time.
That line for Awake should not be solid green like that. Your phone is never going to sleep.

Also searching....this seems to be a very complicated problem. You are not the only one with this issue, and it has symptoms of both hardware and software fault. Which makes it incredibly complicated to deal with.
I am bringing this thread back to life because I started having the same problem and am looking for an answer.

Not at all....I managed to greenify or even disable any app that was wakelocking the device.
But it seems the system itself is causing the battery drain. That's if the battery drain isn't caused by hardware, since I am having very weird symptoms....such as loosing battery while phone is powered off connected to the charger.
Hey,
I got some strange problem, in the last week my device stuck in the temperature of 42-44 celsius when idle and for sure the phone not feel hot at all. It always moving between 42-44 and because of that the charging speed decrease drastically (Checked with Ampere and Gsam battery monitor).
What can be the reason? Just Battery sensor broken or it can be a software issue? I tried to factory rest the device but with restore of all my stuff and it still exists.
Thanks in advance for you help!

As the title mention, once the P6P achieves 60% on the pixel stand 2, charging becomes intermittent. There are no issues with charging speed as it's able to reach as high as 28W. I tried removing the phone, restarting the phone, changing charging speed preference, changing the USB cord, unplugging/replugging the charger, with no difference.
When I place my Pixel 4xl on the stand, no issues reaching 80%, my assigned charging limit. I'm not sure if it's software or hardware issue with my Pixel 6 Pro. Can anyone provide suggestions how to resolve the issue? Thanks
EDIT: It appears that Morgrain was correct, the issue disappears once I disabled ACC module. Will reach out to dev about the issue. Thanks Morgrain.
Do you have the adaptive charging setting on? If so try turning it off.
Is it heat? My P6P will charge until it gets warm then stops charging. It's really annoying as on my car holder wireless charger it hardly ever charges. This is the only phone I've had this happen to but it's to do with overheating.

The phone is not warm. It's cool to touch plus the stand has a fan to prevent it from overheating.

Did you tinker with the charging limit on your P6 aswell (in the past)? Maybe it's AccuBattery/whatever app with a similar feature set that might run in the background, preventing your phone to charge fully. You might want to deactivate/deinstall all those apps to see if one is the culprit.
I can say from personal experience (got the P6 Pro and the Stand 2) that both work (at least for me) without issue, the phone charged to 100% no problem. Of course that still leaves hardware or software issues that might be the cause of your issue.

I use Advanced Charging Controller to stop charging at 80%. I don't mess with the voltage or current. My pixel 4xl operate under the same condition, limiting the charge to 80%.
The next time I recharge my phone I will disable the module to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the suggestion.
