Hi,
I have a oneplus 9 pro with root (upgraded from oneplus 5T), i have also a mi wireless charger in the car and i now am able to charge the phone in the car with the wireless charger. The situation i'm facing is that i get in/out of the car a lot during the day, and it is always uncharging and charging the phone, constantly dropping from 100% to 90%/85% and ask if theres anyway to disable wireless charging in the phone. The charger needs to be connected so it can open automatically the phone holders and close to secure the phone, also to open is necessary power. Didn't face this problem before, as i didn't have wireless charging on OP 5T.
The solution i found for now is a thin alluminium foil between the case and the phone and it won't charge but when i really want to charge i have to take it out all the times. I was hopping i could with tasker write a command when plugged to car's Bluetooth it disables the wireless charging and vice-versa.
Is this possible. Or any other suggestion.
Have found a user that was able to modify this file on OP 8 Pro
/sys/class/power_supply/wireless/op_disable_charge
Enabled: 0
Disabled: 1
bu i can't find that file
Regards
Buy a Kenu holder...
Without wireless charging.
Don't see why it wouldn't be possible with tasker since the opposite is avail. You'll just have to work on it. Or find a tasker forum to help you out. Or place the foil on top of the charger then much easier to remove and replace at wim
Thank you for your answers but i have found what i was looking for.
For everyone in the same situation i am, here is how i did it:
The file taht enables or disables Wireless charging on OP 9 Pro is located here:
/sys/class/oplus_chg/wireless/chg_enable
enable - 1
disable - 0
i have created a tasker profile/task that enables when connected to car bluetooth and disables on disconnect.
Hope it can help someone.

I have many cradle for my phone since the first XDA, and currently seems a cradle main feature is to charge or maybe sync(even you might sync once per month). Why people still need a cradle? Or what should a cradle have today?
lcd with wireless cords and memory expansion with voice recognition
Drop in connection (like my N1s cradle or my old Palm V's cradle)
Charging of course.
Micro USB Passthrough (so I can move music onto my phone without having to do some wireless workaround or use a cable)
TV/VGA/HDMI (some kinda video) output.
USB Host
Audio out (bluetooth or not like the N1 dock)
The whole reason I have a cradle is because I like the whole effortless docking bit. I like to be able to just throw my phone on the dock and have it act as my desk clock (clock app auto starts), and charge my phone. So in case I need to leave in a hurry, I just grab my phone and not have to fiddle with any cords!
Also, I use my cradle in conjunction with Tasker to automate certain profiles during the day. i.e. if I'm out late at night, I don't want my phone going in sleep mode (brightness 0% sound = vibrate, etc) until it's back in it's charger
Anyone using wireless charging on the MI3? It's only possible with a receiver, btw, it's not built in.

I am curious has anyone tried using a wireless charging add on and know if it works properly?
I'm a writer for Qiwireless.com and I use my Mi3 with a universal wireless charging receiver to charge it.
I saw something here: facebook.com/MiuiCzechSlovakXiaomi/posts/10152284167068959
Manufacturer named Lencow doing this type of chargers for MI's. You can find the net for the price.
is it for real that mi3 supports wireless charging??

Note, WITH a receiver. A receiver is a piece of hardware which sits under the base of the phone, and is connected to the charging circuit. Just google the term.
You'd have to be really motivated to take your phone apart, just to attach that. Without considering the space that module would need vs the available space inside the phone, which is pretty slim to start with. Actually with a metal phone back, I believe the module would have to sit outside of the phone, between the plastic cover and the back - so the phone back would not be flat.
I have had a Nexus 4 with wireless charging for the last 2 years, and I rarely use the wireless charger I bought:
- charges slower than a wall charger
- if you pick the phone up - as we all do - you stop charging and additionally multiply the number of charging cycles.
Cables are not as cool as a Qi pad, but a Qi pad also needs its cable...
Anyway, out of the box, the mi3 doesn't do wireless charging - just confirmed that with my wireless charger
stupid!!! pls improve yourself bout the 'Electronic Science and Technology' knowledge~ don't ask such an idiot question!!!
Hi there everyone,
I have been trying to get my Nexus 7 2013 installed into my car seamlessly without problems since December 2015. I have Timur's Kernel v4 (6.0.1) running on it, and it was working flawlessly.
However, I decided that the no battery mod needed to be done as I just could not leave that battery inside a hot car - way too risky.
So, I did the Kevdav no battery mod - with success.
However, once the battery connection was receiving 5v via a usb car charger the OTG cable connected to the tablet's mini usb port would not wake/suspend the tablet properly. It would wake it up, but once it was awake the little battery icon at the top would forever show that it was 'charging' and once power was cut to the otg y cable / mini usb, it would not suspend (would still show as charging).
I did research, and bought a Drok DC-DC step down converter. I lowered the voltage to the battery mod connection to 3.7v (and tested up to 4.7v) and this alleviated the problem of suspend/wake. I think since the original battery gave out less voltage then the otg/charging connection, this needed to be replicated in order for the otg to work.
However, I now have a new problem that I cannot seem to fix. This problem only seems to happen in the car and does not occur when testing it in the house using normal wall chargers.
For clarity, this is how everything is wired up in the car.
Nexus 7 battery mod side of things:
Nexus 7 battery terminals > 22awg usb cable > drok dc dc step down power supply (this board has a female usb port for output) set at 3.7v (tested up to 4.7v) > input is connected to car's constant 12v connected directly to battery on a fused wire.
Nexus 7 mini usb port side of things:
Nexus 7 mini usb port > usb otg y cable > mini usb cable > 2.4a usb car cig adapter hardwired to car's switched 12v accessory wire.
The link to the drok dc dc step down is this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FDBY66Y/ref=twister_B01GO268W6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I turn on acc ignition to send power to the otg connection. It'll power up. However, if left in standby overnight the tablet won't power up. If I physically press the tablet's power button it'll wake up, show the wake up animation, and react as normal (including any subsequent power downs). However, if I don't press the power button and I turn off the ign again, an icon on my car's instrument cluster will be faintly illuminated - this is odd behaviour and should be completely out. When this is the case, if I get out and try to lock the car the remote central locking doesn't work.
This light will go out if I physically disconnect the otg y cable from the tablet, and low and behold the remote central locking works.
I'm no expert on electronics and such, but it seems to me that power may be flooding back into the OTG connection from the no battery mod power?
Does this make sense? Sorry for the long question, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with troubleshooting or any advice? I've this one problem and then I'm set but I just can't seem to figure anything out and need someone's advice who is in the know rather than take wild stabs in the dark using my own logic because if I do the latter, not only will I waste money on needless components but I'll more than likely break something. I've read stuff about diodes or something in order to regulate power flow but I'm not even sure I'm using the correct terminology here so if anyone can tell me I'm onto something here or I'm talking complete nonsense then anything is appreciated!
I did search these forums and google but I really cannot find anything that is similar to my problem.
Thanks for any input guys, whether it be any tips on what I'm missing or what I need to change (software or hardware, electrical, etc) - it's all very much appreciated.
Antony
Edit: so sorry I think I posted this is the wrong n7 2013 sub section. I can't delete the post but if a mod could please kindly move it to the relevant forum I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi, indeed, and your "2.4a usb car cig adapter hardwired to car's switched 12v accessory wire" requires a small mod to prevent the power feedback. It needs an extra 1A+ diode connected directly to 12V input. You could modify the adapter's PCB or simply replace the fuse's internal wire with a diode where its cathode goes to the spring and its anode to 12V input. Or just place the diode somewhere along the adapter's hardwire. $0.16 1N4001 is good enough ([email protected] is OK for [email protected]).
Not sure if thread is still active but I also have the same symptom with tablet turning off completely overnight. I am running constant 12v to 3.7v dc to dc on battery input and car adapter 12v to 5v on microusb cable in. Tablet will work fine with on and off but after car is shutdown for the night it will not turn on in the morning. It shows me battery charge icon only. I dont have diode installed either. Not sure if thats the cause. Anyone know why it would completly shutdown overnight?

Hi there,
Been a while since I posted on this thread but just wanted to update on what I have done so far.
Since my last post, I don't have any issues. I placed a diode as mentioned above on the +12v for the accessory power. This seemed to have fixed any back flow of power.
Concerning the power off over night, I'm pretty sure this was something to do with Timur's kernel. I forever had issues with that thing - eg, suspect and wake issues, accessories connected to my usb hub..
I switched to a stock version of android 6.0.1 - MOB30X if memory serves... and installed Elemental X version 5.16. No issues with this setup what so ever.
Huh.
I run my Nexus 7 on my car with the battery, mounted just above the dashboard, with direct sunlight exposition and no UV film on the windshield. It's been a whole year without issues, thank God.

I live in the Northeast of Brazil, where's 30C to 40C through the year. Sometimes I come up to the car and the tablet shut off due to the heat.
Battery still lasts wonders and there's no signs of damage.. yet.
Is it really adamant to remove the battery, or is it just a precautionary measure?

You better have more luck.
My nexus was put under the dash and was fine for around 3 years. And it became expanded in just 2 days, separating the screen and the case. So I have urgently remove the battery.
I just had my Qi receiver arrive and have been testing it, it is working well, phone stays cool, nice slow/steady charge (Qi next my bed for overnight charge), so far so good.
Anyone else tried Qi charging?
This phone doesn't have wireless charging.

Im not talking about factory Qi, I mean aftermarket Q1, I used it for years back on my S2 then again on my S4, the S2 I had to keep in back of case and the S4 had connectors behind the back cover.
The A1 has no back door and is all metal so has to sit behind the back of the phone and case:
C type wireless receiver:

This was my old S2 on Qi, I will post some pics of the A1.

I think you might struggle to hide it in a hard shell that slim, even if you can get the case on it will cause a bulge on the back, it's invisible in my leather flip case but that nearly doubles the thickness of my phone.
I have checked the stats and it is 1.0mm thick, on my Samsung S2, I used to keep it behind the battery door but it did make a small bulge in the back of the phone, of course this phone has no battery door and is also all metal so needs to sit behind the metalwork.
An update after 2 weeks of testing, works a really well, charges well with no heat.
No regular plug unplug on the USB, and also USB port protected from dirt and dust.
Only disadvantage is you need to unplug the receiver and take case off to use USB port but I never do this as I move files in the cloud and use Bluetooth headphones.
Issues:
1, I found if the screen wakes while locked (you can lose and regain charging in the night with Qi), the screen will come on and stay on which I think is a A1/Oreo bug? Anyhow, the best fix is "Snoozy charger", the APK is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61181343&postcount=11 this app shuts the screen off if it wakes while charging, so it's perfect for this.
2, For some reason, in the morning fingerprint will not open the phone on the first wake up after charging (could be because Snoozy has been closing screen?), first open in the morning needs to use other method, pattern for me - no big deal.
Thank you for idea. I just got Mia1 and Wireless adapter. Wireless charging Works Fine, exept i cant get any charging clock work. Maybe problem is firmware based. Currently on stock firmware with may updates and not rooted.

What do you mean "charging clock", you mean the clock display on the screen while charging?
If so, I have not tried as I charge by my bed and do not want any light or disturbance while sleeping.

I think he talked about the stock Android feature to make the screen always on charge
Maybe you have it enabled and so you don't need the APK you mentioned above
In settings/screen/screensaver
And yes above marshmallow or nougat an app that lock the device will make fingerprint and smart lock not working for security reasons
Yes, i use charging phone as nightclock. For some reason internal daydream option dont work on my Mi a1. I enabled option from developers options, but it still dont work. I finally found from playstore night clock Made by pegi 3 , what works fine. Wireless charging is working fine.

Cool, glad it works for you too.
Really interested in trying this out for my dad, you couldn't give me the exact model of the wireless charging receiver, could you? Just to ensure I buy the same one and have no problems. Thanks in advanced!
Hi. Have a car wireless charger which opens ups up automatically. I would like to know if there is anyway to disable the wireless chargeron my s20 ultra so it doesn't charge everytime I place the phone in the cradle. I can't disconnect the power otherwise the cradle will not open and close. I have tried to disable the fast wireless charging options in settings. That doesn't disable wireless charging. Anyone have any ideas please. Thankyou
Device Care , Charging, you can switch off Fast Wireless Charging. Dont know if it disables totally though.
Hi. No that doesn't disable it. If you turn it off it still charges but probably slower.
Can't disable wireless charging without root.
