Oxygen OS 11 bugs - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Hi!
I own the HD1901 (Indian Variant) of the OnePlus 7t. Recently after receiving the OTA update for 11.0.2, my phone has become very buggy.
WiFi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting randomly. Have turned off the auto WiFi switch but not helping.
When I receive a call, my phone starts vibrating however the call notification doesn't pop up for the next 5 or more seconds. Thus I'm unable to see who is calling me until 5-10 seconds after I receive the call even though my phone is vibrating/ringing.
There is a delay in taking pics with the Camera app. Earlier it used to instantly save the images but now there is a slight delay after clicking the capture button.
The overall OS at times seems to be a bit buggy and laggy.
I'm not sure if there are more people facing such bugs but does anyone have a solution as to how to fix this?
Appreciate any form of help, thank you!

Format data (clean flash)

There is also a 3 second delay when clicking on the notification and when it opens the app, anyone have a fix?

[Q] Camera crashes

Heya!
Anyone having some camera issues since the 4.4 Update?
Mine crashes and/or freezes randomly when taking photos with the software and hardware buttons. Sometimes the whole phone freezes and won't respond on any touch input. Sometimes lock and unlock it again helps but most times I have to wait a few seconds or use the "OFF"-Buttons.
Any fix for this?

Do a factory reset. I had the exact same issue when I upgraded and I had to do this a few times to get everything working.

Gosh, that sucks :/ Is it at least good to make a backup with the Sony app and then restore it or will this end up with the same error again?

You can try but I usually recommend just starting fresh since it could cause some errors.

if u want better chance not to see these kindda issue u must repair ur firmware by PCC.
factory reset means wiping firmware
but repair by PCC means install fresh firmware
:good:
I've got the same issue. It's actually worst when using SnapChat. It just freezes sometimes. I did a factory reset from the phone and this solved the issues for a day, but now it's back. I'm gonna do a full reset from the computer now and see if this solves it.
I have the same problem with the camera!! Anyone fixed this problem without factory reset?

And it's back. Camera often freezes the whole phone. When I listen to music, and starts snapchat and change from back to front camera, the whole phone freeze and the music stops for almost ten seconds.
Same here, 14.3.A.0.681. Did anyone found a fix?
The camera app opens and works, but at the moment to focus it just stuck on focusing and the photo is never taken.
I experience the same issue. Often, I have to wait for the camera to open, and SnapChat is unusable now. Don't really feel like resetting if people here are reporting that it doesn't fix the issues.
Same issue here. But on 785 (4.4, latest update, german TFT, unlocked BL and root). Camera hangs on every occassion, doesn't make a difference which capture method I use. Tried emptying cache and data for the camera app but that didn't solve anything. I don't want to reinstall my phone because it's a pain in the ass. Problem does not occur with the front camera.
I did find a fix!!!:
Just clear data&cache of the camera app and snapchat (just need to log in again). Now everything works smooth and quick again.
@madlive: weird, for me clearing data&cache fixed all my problems. Maybe try it again?

Having just sold my Z1 (after having .757 installed) and now using a 'spare' Z1 Compact until my Z2 arrives, I wasn't that surprised to notice that the Z1 Compact has exactly the same problems as the Z1.
Wiping, resetting, clearing the cache - all pointless in the long run. Any fix is coincidental. It's a bug that hasn't been completely fixed with .757. The mere fact I've had the same problems on both handsets shows it's the firmware.
If you unlock the phone and start up the camera via the icon, chances are it will work fine.
If you activate the camera from standby, it may fail (the freezing problem, or 'camera not available' error).
What .757 seems to have fixed is the issue where the phone starts to get red hot and then you get the warning that it's too hot to use the camera. I've been taking a lot of photos this last weekend and never had that happen, so at least Sony fixed one thing. I suspect that was down to a series of problems with the media server and creating thumbnails etc, all of which were fixed.
When you have the freezing problem, was the phone locked? In other words; was it locked, but you started the camera via the camera key or dragging up the camera icon? When you tapped power to turn off/on, did you then have to unlock again? If you subsequently unlock - does the camera work fine now?
My hunch is that this is where the problem lies. I've got pattern unlock and now have it set to not lock for 30 minutes. So if I'm taking photos, I unlock the phone and - touch wood - I have no camera issues for that time.
If the phone has locked itself later on, and I don't unlock first, I expect the camera to fail. Yet it doesn't always - but once is still too much. I missed a potentially awesome photo of my two year old son because of this - and it's bloody frustrating. Especially as there's no idea on when we might get another update.
Another problem I noticed on the first KitKat release was the on-screen keyboard appearing over the camera one time. I'd been using the keyboard in another app before firing up the camera using the button, so the camera fault must be down to how it sets itself up when launched - and what you were doing just before (unlock screen, another app) influences the likelihood of it crashing.
In any case, it's a pain.
But on the plus side, the quality of the photos I got over the weekend - mostly in manual landscape mode - are stunning. The phone is capturing a level of detail that is exceptional now. And auto mode is now generally pretty good too, suggesting it doesn't just bump up the ISO all the time.
Same bug here!

I'm having the same problem here. Does Sony is aware of this bug?
Does anyone know of a link where we can complain about it to the manufacturer?
I thought that something was wrong/broken with my phone, but then, after seeing your posts, it isn't... So no factory reset... Just wait for an update? even 3rd party apps seem to crash, expecially the google camera... Wth
I'm getting the same problem since the stock 4.4.2 update, battery life doesn't seem as good anymore either, but i'm always near a charger so the new Camera bugs are the most annoying.
You can't exactly "catch a moment" by whipping your camera out anymore, most of the time I'm waiting about 5-10 secs for the picture to appear ready to take a pic, especially noticeable on Snapchat or when switching from front-face to rear.
I woudn't mind but being on Stock Firmware I'm always waiting longer for Android updates, supposedly because of the extra rigorous testing etc!
bump !
it appears accessing camera from different locations (lockscreen shortcuts ...) confuses the mecanism, this added to some flashlight app and you're good to have the reboot-proof camera FC problem... pffff
Possible Fix!
*** possible fix! ***
I read this on another forum and for about 5 days now my camera has been behaving completely normal across all apps!
Little warning - for me this logged me out of some apps, and caused me to have to put some widgets back on - it almost behaved like clearing the cache when you're rooted, no data lost just a some apps liked twitter etc were acting like they were installed for the first time...
The method is to boot into safe mode once, then just power the phone off and boot as normal:
Hold down your power button
In the menu hold down the "Power Off" option and say OK to safe mode
Once you're in safe mode, turn the phone off
Turn the phone on again, it will boot as normal
Camera just now behave as normal!
Not only has it worked for me so far, but my whole phone seems a bit faster.
Good luck!
Yes have faced that issue with camera, just like my friend warned me :/ freezing, when clicking
Factory reset didn't do much good

Clicking noise when playing back a video

I am having an issue with videos recorded on my LGG4. During playback on the phone or uploaded to Facebook, there is a constant clicking noise that can be heard over any recorded sound on every video. I have tested several different recordings and all are the same. Here is a short sample that you can listen too...
https://goo.gl/photos/h2aYZNoqCQJNMSoo7
Bad phone or is there a easy fix?
Hi. I have the same playback issue on my G4. I tried recording with Google Camera and I had no problem, no weird sounds or whatever. I guess this happens only when using the stock camera app. Mine is updated to MM v20a.
Hi, same problem here. That's the second exchange with amazon, the first one had display issues (random white noise on the right half of the display) this one has the clicking noise during video recording on the left channel. Seems like it's related with the wifi module: disabling it the clickning noise disappears, but the audio recording is still bad compared to the previous g4 i returned to amazon.

I have the same issue. Strange that everything is fine when using different app. Looks like firmware problem ? Did you sort it out ? I have just updated my phone to Android 6.0 v20c .
guys, can you try turn off wifi then record video , do you still have clicking sound ?
if u use a case, try record without the case.
Hi. I have switched my wifi off and I did not notice any changes. Still I can hear clicking noise. I do not use any cases. Strange that everything is fine when I using google camera open app... I found out that lots of people noticed the same issue. It cannot be hardware problem...
I have the same problem, but ONLY and ONLY if wifi is on, i get clicking sound in stock camera WITH wifi on, in other apps i dont have it, but when i turn it OFF , clicking sound is gone... even when i record video and during recording i turn of wifi, sound instantly dissapears, for me it's the wifi problem, i can upload video if you dont belive me
I have the same clicking noise with or without wifi on. I did not notice any issues when using open google camera app. Looks like it is stock camera app fault ?

clicking sound comes near earpiece.what default camera does is that it records audio from secondary mic which is near earpiece.whereas 3rd party camera womt use secondary mic.that too clicking sound will come more when wifi/bluetooth is ON.
Same here, and clicking goes away with WiFi off.
Wanted to ask, did anybody return and got a replacement device based on this? Or even had it fixed by service?
I mean, are there devices that don't have this problem? Cause if there are, then it's a valid warranty/service request.
I have got my mother board replaced.

Was that the only problem it had? And is the problem gone now?
We purchased one of these in December and there was no issue with the phone. We had to return the phone for another reason and when we got it back it was updated to the latest version of Android Marshmellow (It was on Lollipop when it left) and the clicking was there. We also noticed a minor reduction in photo quality, not something I can put a finger on it, but when we first got it the photos were awesome, now they are not so clear, colourful, sharp.
Edit:
We sent it back for repair again due to the clicking and when we got it back (last night) nothing changed, it still makes the same noise.
I can stop the clicking but I have to turn off Wifi, Data and bluetooth and then it seems to go away.
As I'm new to Android I'm hesitant to see if I can take it back to Lollipop and see if it stops the problem.
What version of software are you on?
Does turning off Wifi, Data, Bluetooth help? Or does it just reduce the sound?
Do the pictures seem less then what a camera with these specs should have?
Marshmallow v20d. Yes turning off things makes the clicking go totally away. Can't comment on picture quality change, as I updated to marshmallow as soon as I got it.
Had mine sent two times in less than a month, on its way to the third this week.
First time was sent with this audio problem and battery swelling. They replaced the battery and the charging connectors, but said they could not reproduce the earpiece clicking noise during their tests, despite the fact that I had included in the phone a video example showing the problem, clear instructions on how to replicate the problem and the shop lady confirming - in writing - that she had tested and confirmed that there was a clicking noise problem. Problem was, when I received the phone from the first repair I was unable to test whether the audio problem was gone or not because they changed the last account associated to the phone, completely blocking me from accessing it and verify if the audio problem as still present.
Sent back a second time on the same day, with even more clear details on how to reproduce the audio problem - since they failed to reproduce the first time, I assumed it was still there - returned after a simple software upgrade and I was able to finally enter the phone. Came home, tested with WiFi (store's wifi was down) and the audio problem was still there, completely unchanged.
Tested without SIM (in case LTE/GSM etc. could be causing interference with WiFi), tested without SDCARD (at this point I was just trying to see what they did to NOT replicate the problem) and tested with 5GHz wifi, in case the problem was only with 2.4GHz bands. No change, the audio problem was always there.
After reading this thread, and other threads in different forums, I am certain that this is a hardware problem and I will demand that the store tech writes in the warranty sheet that he confirmed the problem, along with a very detailed step-by-step instruction guide to replicate the problem, video example included inside the phone and a link to video example hosted only for them to hear clearly what the problem is, just in case they fail to understand the obvious (https://youtu.be/oZOb8tIl5lw). Finally, I'm going to contact LG directly to report this situation and to take action if the incompetent brand techs fail to replicate and fix the problem yet again.
The only good part about all this is that they have been really fast, no more than week and a half (weekends included) for both "repairs".
NFC was the issue on my android Nokia 3
I have a brand new Nokia 3 running android 7.1.1
It also has the problem of audio clicks on video recordings. THE PROBLEM IS NFC. When NFC is disabled the clicks go away. Not impressed with a 2017 smartphone model having thus issue. Though Nokia probably have the Microsoft bug curse
I have the same problem with my 2016 LG G4. I sent my phone to LG Service and they replaced my speaker obviously not resolving the problem... now I'm sending it back again.

razer freezing

2-3 times the phone has totally freezed for me so I had to restart it, same on my brother's razer. Anyone else having this problem.
I've had a few random freezes too. Mostly while in the Facebook app. Although all buttons became unresponsive.

Facebook isn't exactly the most stable right now. If I try to use the market page, guaranteed to freeze up and crash.
Happened to me today as well. Google framework supposedly crashed which caused a system wide freeze. Had to reboot the phone.
I couldn't say I've seen it freezing on me however it has randomly rebooted a few time so maybe have not seen it freeze up but when I went back to it the phone had restarted itself.
My Razer phone freezes 1-2 times a day. Sometimes I'm using the phone, and it gets unresponsive except for the lock-button, but I can never unlock the phone after that. Sometimes it just wont unlock.
Every time this happens I have to restart the phone.
I've had a couple random restarts as well..
After getting such a freeze it would be cool if you could go to Settings->Developer Settings->get bug report->Full bug report.
That will generate a zip which can be used for debugging. If someone uploads it, I can take a look.
After the latest update my phone will randomly lock up. The screen will go blank and the phone will just turn off. Yeah..
I have 2 issues I can't pin down that might be related:
1. Roughly 1 in 4 times I launch anything on Netflix (I only watch downloaded offline stuff), the phone will freeze and then instantly reboot. I'm not sure what causes it to make it reproducible, but after the reboot it's always fine. Haven't had issue with vlc.
2. So today I noticed more than usual the sound in the headphones (attached via the jack dongle) cutting out. Previous fix was to pull out dongle and reinsert and it was fine. This time no joy, in fact moving the dongle while the sound was working resulted in crazy distortion and when I tried to reboot I got a freeze.
In both cases the dongle might have been the culprit. Would be interested to see if others are freezing while using a dongle or not.
I have issues with IG freezing up pretty hard.
I have the same Netflix issue than you and it's very frustrating. The only thing that seems to slow this phone down is the thing it specialises in.. Netflix hdr hmmmm

For me snapchat freezez my phone temporary
Has anyone experiencing the unresponsive screen / freezing problems with the Razer phone (first phone) found a solution that prevents the freezing from recurring?
Rebooting the phone via the Volume up + Power buttons will restart the phone, but that is not a fix of the core issue.

Proximity sensor and auto rotate randomly stop working after updating to UI 3.0.

I'm using note 10+ snapdragon version, recently did OTA update and receive Samsung UI 3.0. After a week of usage, problem randomly appear. Video auto rotate not working when I turn my phone. During a phone call, when i place the phone near my ear, screen doesn't turn off and I start hearing my own voice, it's very interrupting.
It has a temporary fix which is restart the phone. But after a while issue will reappear. I've tried clearing cache. I've tried factory data reset and problem still will appear randomly. My phone was totally fine when I use Samsung UI 2.5!
Anyone experience same issue or have a fix?

Question OnePlus 11 China version flash from ColorOS to OxygenOS issue

Hi everyone, I bought a OP11 Jupiter version from China and flash it from ColorOS to OxygenOS CPH2447_11_A.09. I've use it for a while and found some critical bugs like:
1. Auto brightness not working all time
2. Wake up screen but super laggy refresh rate (Randomly)
3. No response after screen off and need to long press power button to restart (Randomly)
4. Fingerprint sensor not working in always-on-display (Randomly)
4. Camera lagging when using social media apps (Randomly)
Waiting a stable OxygenOS ROM update for China version.

Based on what author said, you should be able to directly install official updates.
Did you factory reset your smartphone?
Let me know if it still randomly shuts off.
I have PB110 512GB, and the seller did flash the oxygen os (CPH2447_11_A.06) for me. My oneplus 11 is NOT ROOTED, and bootloader is NOT UNLOCKED, I cannot afford to lose security over unlocked bootloader
I cannot get any incremental updates so far and is stucked on A.06 for some time now. HOWEVER, I managed to find some workarounds some of the bugs, and my oneplus 11 is serving me as my daily driver, without TOO MUCH issue, it is now "quite stable".
From the said issue :
1. Auto brightness not working all time
2. Wake up screen but super laggy refresh rate (Randomly)
TURN OFF auto brightness and uses MANUAL brightness.
ALSO, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT use QHD, STICK IT TO FHD mode, NOT STANDARD, but FHD MODE for displays, RESTART your phone if you get resolution after switching to FHD. FHD will eventually FIX some of the issues like FLASHY LOCK SCREEN, and other issues.
YOUTUBE LAG/OTHER FPS ISSUES : Use SETEDIT and adjust Peak Refresh from 120.001 fps to 59.99 fps, this will fix most of the stutering issue
3. No response after screen off and need to long press power button to restart (Randomly)
This bugs is seems to be NOTIFICATIONS. You have to CLEAR NOTIFICATIONS from time to time, DO NOT let notifications hanging and keep pushing too much into your notification bar, once a treshold is hit, the lock screen will crash and causes you need to REBOOT by pressing power button to restart
4. Fingerprint sensor not working in always-on-display (Randomly)
This got no fix, HOWEVER,off and on the screen will fix the issue, NOT a big deal.
4. Camera lagging when using social media apps (Randomly)
I dont use the social media camera that much often but I didnt see issue in using camera in whatsapp.
