This 2017 variant comes with built-in Android Nougat 7.0 OS. Unfortunately for us 2016 buyers didn't have this OS.
Watch this video. Come on K10 users of 2016, send some msg. to the official LG page. Tell them that we want the Android Nougat too. I guess it comes with a Vulkan API which is so much good for gaming.

For me K10 2017 looks worse than K10 2016..
I read somewhere that K10 2016 should get Nougat in February 2017 so we will see is that true

K series (prevously L series) is mid range phones and much variants have mediatek chipsets who doesn't share sources. Point of not sharing is that you must buy new generation phone/chipset to get newest software, so basically mid range phones lasts one year until next generation comes out with newest software (in this case K10 2107) . So there is very small chance of getting Nougat, i would like that but I don't hope too much.
But the specs are the same

We will be getting Nougat for sure! We have almost the same specs has LG K10 2017.
Yeah but he is right, I guess not a 100% since they say that K10 2017 has a GPU of Mali T860 which is capable of handling Vulkan API. While most of 2016 mtk variant has Mali T720 :c too bad so sad.
I need the buttons on the back panel, with the knock on function its the greatest thing ever... but i cant see it on the 2017 versions. it was the only reason i bought LG

That is the thing, they make new phone more-less with same hardware, but new software. If they make nougat for 2016 version then they will lowered selling of 2017 version.
@gottlasz
It has unlock button on back but volume are on side.
Knock code should be there that's lg's special sign if know what I mean.

The only reason why I like Nougat are the multi screen and Vulkan API. But 2016 has mali t720 while the 2017 has t860 which is capable of vulkan. Another thing is the metal backpanel of 2017 looks good

It's a big difference.
The A5 2016 is a nice phone. I bought one for my mother. It's half decent spec, so I suppose it's gonna come down to cost and your needs.
Ii broke my s7 edge and brought a a3 2016 i preferred tge design. Its noticeable that its slower and lacks ram.. But a good rom amd kernel and its a brilliant phone.. I prefer it to the s7e.
I want to buy a Galaxy A5 2017. Can anyone confirm if it has a good sound quality? It has a exynos 7880. I know that, normally, Exynos comes with Cirrus Logic, but can't find any info on the web. S7 for example has a Cirrus Logic CS47L91.
Anyone?
well i can't confirm that it has a cirrus logic or not but the sound quality is very very good (i have a peach cloud a5 2017, very satisfied with it).
edit: i found a coparison between the a5,a7 2017 and iphone 7,7 plus, when i scrolled down to the audio section, both iphone 7,7 plus have a cirrus logic 338S00105 but a5,a7 have none.

Maybe it's because no one knows what is inside. Maybe it has a Cirrus Logic DAC but no one confirmed yet.
So, you said the sound is good, but are you talking about the speaker or the headphone jack?

Oh, i wanted the headphone jack to be as good as the S7 one, or maybe next to it. If you have the chance, could you please compare the two?

i have had the s7 edge for quite some time, from a scale of 1 to 10 i'd say the s7 edge gets 9 and the a 5 2017 gets 7.
if you do get the a5 2017 i recommend you to change the erabud type to something more premium like the s7's erabud.

That's because i have a good pair or earbuds (1more triple driver) that i want a good sound quality coming from the phone. I hope that the a5 2017 can achieve that 9 with good earbuds.

if you want my advice, the a5 2017 can't stand a chance compared to the s7.
but that doesn't mean it's total garbage, it has it's own pros and cons and belive me when i tell you that the pros are far more than the cons.
as a s7 edge user moved to a5 2017, i don't regret it, not once.
especially in the a5 2017 price tag

Hello Slazyel,
I'm thinking about buying A5 2017 or S7 and come across your post.
Being previously a HTC and Sony phones user, I'm a bit concern about the audio quality in Samsung phone.
How's your experienve with the A5 2017 so far, in terms of audio quality and also battery?
Do you think it is better to buy A5 2017 rather than S7 then?
Thanks!

Hi Bajoe,
The audio was okay but i was looking for something better and went to the S7 Edge. The edge sound is really good and better. Not perfect like phones that use the ESS Sabre DACs but still good enough with it's Cirrus Logic DAC. I still don't know if the A5 2017 has any DAC.

In my experience, yes. They both have the same Cirrus Logic DAC.
Hey guys, really considering the S9 but will likely be modding it a bit.
If anyone's got it and doesn't mind testing quickly, does Gcam HDR+ work on either SD or Exynos variants? I believe the one from this thread is the most up-to-date.
Seriously hoping we'll eventually be able to pick which aperture to use in Gcam

Visit this site and download every version of the app. I am using on my LG G5 and it's working very well. I have tested it on samsung galaxy s7 with exynos and also worked very well.

Thanks, but yeah I have tested extensively on my S7 and know how well it works. I was just wondering if it works as well on the S9, which I don't have.
Doesnt work... Just tested it on Exynos 9+
Latest version (V8) force closes. However, version 7 seems to work fine.
Thanks for testing guys. I just bought mine so will post my tests after Tuesday.
I just get a black screen when trying pretty much any settings combo, what settings are you using?

Same here. V8 and recently released 8.1 FC immediately on the S9+, but V7 works fine.

I don't use it. It was merely for testing purposes. I've always been happy with Samsung's stock camera.

what makes you think that?
I have heard it was working better on exynos most of the time
unless you are talking about only s9
The one I use is MGC_5.1.016_7.0+C2API_v.1.3c_AllinOne.apk, HDR+ works fine and makes a noticable difference in certain scenarios, best of both
All others with portrait mode enabled either black screen or force close.

That port doesnt apply post processing...
Not any works in Galaxy s9 like the miniuser one in s8
I tried some version from the site and that you all said on the s9+ exynos but very buggy and almost dont work...
there is some stable version+settings that work well?with portrait and all?
the samsung camera app is suck in term of colors and some "pop"
Hello,
I am trying to stick with OTA updates with this device. Has anyone in the UK received the update? Previous updates have been quick to come through, but there is no sign of this one.
Also, for the European version (non snapdragon), are there camera improvements with this update?
I have an unlocked Note 10+ 5G (N976B) in the UK and got the update this morning. No real big changes. Just a security update and performance/stability improvements.
Yep, got it. No mention of camera improvements like the snapdragon variant
I use the GCam port the majority of the time so not too bothered about the camera. I'm not that impressed with the picture quality from stock camera in any case. The difference between the Snapdragon and Exynos variants is a discussion in itself. If the stock camera had a bit more customisation over image compression and produced outputs similar to GCam I would gladly use it. I'm aware there is the zero cam mod but like you, I want to stay stock and get OTA updates. I'm very familiar with rooting having had Pixel and OnePlus phones in the past. Samsung provides quite a bit of customisation now so root is not really needed to do some things the majority of the time.
I've been feeling that the battery has immensely improved on the latest OTA update (Oct patch) - Exynos model.

I am using ZGCam 7.4. I don't think I am allowed to link telegram groups but you can find the group if you do a search on telegram. The group is called "ZExynos Lounge ZGCam 7.4". There is a group for the ZGCam 6.1 port also.
