Hello friends, I am new here, getting familiar with XDA environment. The reason I am here is for I faced this problem after MIUI update 12.5 chinese rom. Now, google is no longer working. What can I do to use play store again? Please help me
SOLVED, READ THIS COMMENT, CONTAINS ALL OF THEM

Very unhappy.
You can search for google installer 3.0 it will work temporarily, but unless you root the phone I have not been able to find a permanent fix.
Not impressed XiaoMi.
No warning in the device.
I bet there are a heap of angry customers.
Anyone find a fix Please let me know.

I have rooted my phone, found no alternative option. But now, I have one problem, drive and maps don't work. I wonder if it's something wrong with the google play installer I flashed with magisk. Let me know, if you know any google play installer for stock ROM for rooted device.
Finally I got a few solutions, the best ones along with others would be discussed here by me now.
First of all, without changing the ROM:1. You have to ROOT your phone. And, you need to flash the gapps, though this flashed playstore creates some problems. This can be fixed by the developer who developed the flashable file but AFAIK (as far as I know), I don't know which developer made it so can't send the bug report too.
Working:
All google Apps except GOOGLE DRIVE , GOOGLE MEET AND GOOGLE MAPS
you can browse drive by browser and for google maps, you can use google maps lite which works fine. I haven't found any solution for google meet.
2. Best and permanent option is to shifting to GLOBAL MIUI, I would suggest EU ROM because it is extracted from China MIUI and has a good optimization. I know some of us likes to stick with the old way, but since you are searching your solution here, you have to accept the new ways that china MIUI will always disturb you for GMS (google mobile services) so changing rom is the best way.
(If some of us is reading this thread, and is Newb like me, doesn't understand this new world, I would elaborate it, every process step by step, currently I just wrote it briefly. You can reply here, I will share my knowledge here)
I FOUND THE BEST SOLUTION TILL NOW, NO NEED TO CHANGE YOUR ROM:
ROOT YOUR PHONE, FLASH THIS THIS GAPPS PACKAGE IN MAGISK, ALL IS WORKING, ALL OF THEM.
BEST PART, GOOGLE RECOGNIZE YOUR GOOGLE PHOTOS APPS AS PIXEL DEVICE, SO UNLIMITED HIGH QUALITY UPLOAD
I WONDER HOW SIMPLE THIS SOLUTION IS, BUT IT TOOK ME ALMOST 45 DAYS TO LEARN AND DISCOVER. AGAIN, IF SOMEONE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS NEW WORLD, YOU CAN CONTACT ME, BUT YOU READ READ THIS THREADS FIRST:
MIUI Unlocking Bootloader, Flashing Recovery & Rooting ProcessCUSTOM ROM, AOSP ROM, TREBLE ROM, GSI ROM, PORTED ROMAndroid Terminology You Must Know Before Toying with Your Android
I wanted to write this threads for XDA, but more or less, all of these are available in XDA, just in haphazard manner, so I wrote them for my friends in telegram, and thought, I should share them here too, since I started this thread.

Hey, I'm newbie too and don't understand this new world. And I've got exactly the same problem as you, on my CC9 Meitu Edition. So could you explain how you did it?
Have you got any problem with your camera, by any chance?
Apparently there is no Global ROM for cc9 Meitu Edition - I'm considering trying to install the ROM for CC9/CC9e to see if it works.
Yes we have to embrace the brave new world.
I had hoped to avoid a wipe as I don't want to lose stuff.
I have however (hopefully) backed up everything now and will change to the EU ROM (https://xiaomi.eu/community/)

Thanks mate. So I have done all the process and when I flashed it, my phone went into recovery mode and it is stuck in there now since last night. If I reboot it, it goes back into recovery.
I've wiped the date, no difference. I've tried the Mi Assistant, but the PC Suite won't recognize my phone. I've tried downloading other ROMs, older versions, and nothing seems to work.
As someone mentioned, I have tried to delete the first 2 lines of every .bat file on the ROM folder. Still no success. I don't what else I can do. (He said to comment out these 2 lines, I am not sure what to comment out a line means, but I assume is deleting both lines from the file).
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *pyxis" || echo Missmatching image and device
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *pyxis" || exit /B 1
I'm stuck on the recovery mode with the message in red "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device".
Any light one this issue, please?

In order to advice on what to do, I have to know what you have done till now,
So your device always booting into twrp recovery rather than booting into ui right? Let me know. (And please double check if you have downloaded the correct ROM for your device, bonus trick: flash fastboot ROM using MI FLASH TOOL, it will take you to brand new MIUI condition, you should flash EU fastboot ROM, since in China ROM play store always mess up)

thanks for your reply.
So I've unlocked my phone first. Then I downloaded the MiFlash tool.
I chose the ROM (I researched online to check which ROM would work for the cc9 Meitu Edition) and flashed it.
On MiFlash Tool, it says successful.
But instead of my phone booting normally, it goes into recovery mode (I didn't use any TWRP app, I dont know what those are) and I get this message that MIUI version cant be installed in this device.
I am not sure if it's the ROM i've downloaded. I've downloaded a few, and none has worked out.
Commenting out those 2 lines has an affect on it?
By the way, I didnt find any xiaomi.eu ROM for the CC9 Meitu edition - It's very hard to find info on this model, and global ROMs that work too.

Yes, I am aware, I did not check the clean and lock button. I only used the clean all option.
My phone is currently unlocked.
EDIT: I mean to ask, can I install TWPR on the phone even though I currenty cant access my phone since it is stuck on Recovery mode.
Thanks for showing me which ROMs to download. But these are .zip
I need a file .tgz, no?? in order to fastboot. Or am I wrong?

yes, you need .tgz to flash it in fastboot mode, zips are for flashing it in recovery mode, please install twrp recovery (each device has different twrp), if you have question, ask me but don't flash anything OOS (out of specification), you can flash them using twrp.

Thanks, I appreciate it.
So I have downloaded the TWRP as well as the ADB tool. When I go to prompt command and type fastboot device it gives me a message as follow:
'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
what should I do?

Don't go to cmd from search or run, go to the platform tool folder (better keep the folder in desktop, in the folder, there, in folder address, click with mouse and just type cmd, hit enter, your problem should be solved.
where platform-tool is written, click there, it will be highlighted, write cmd, hit enter, if problem persist, install adb drivers from here . or you can try to install one click adb installer from here .

In the end, there was no option other than to take it to a technician to fix it. He did fix it.
However, the android camera that came installed now is not anywhere near as good as the one that came installed from factory.
I've checked and I have currently an Android camera installed. Before it was a xiaomi camera, which had a better app created along with the guys from Meitu, hence the great quality camera. But I lost it now.
I've download the APK on my phone but can't get it installed,i it says:
Couldn't install
Reason: conflict service providers
Solutions: uninstall current version of the app and try to install it again.
But I can't uninstall the camera that came on phone, I've tried and not possible.
How can I get that APK installed?
What is your current ROM? All xiaomi official ROM has the exact same camera

I believe it's a custom rom, because it says MIUI by xiaomi.eu
12.5.1Stable
12.5.1.0(RFCCNXM)
This last code with the CN shows is Chinese and when I first booted the phone I saw a few Chinese characters but since then they disappeared. Also, all the chinese bloatware is gone. All Google stuff is working neatly as well. And now I have multi-languages options instead of only English and Chinese, as in the stock version.
When I go to camera app info in the stock Chinese rom, I see it's xiaomi and from com.mlab.cam version 5.0 (my brother has exact the same phone, I bought them together, so I checked on his phone)
But on my phone it says com.android.cam version 4.3.000230.7
And the most important, I took similar pics with both phones and the Chinese rom native camera app is undisputably better, has way better pics, definition, sharpness, etc
This ROM is also from xiaomi and officially maintained by xiaomi AFAIK. I am not sure why you are experiencing that much difference. But you can always use a GCam which is far better than stock cam. Search for GCam in your device thread.
I also have this issue. How can I tell if my ROM is Chinese?

Go to settings > my device > all specs and check the MIUI version. If the letters in the middle read CN, it means it's chinese ROM. If they read EU, it's european version

If you are on Lollipop, this guide is NOT for you!
Almost none of this is my work, I just collect it and put it together in one place and I'm writing a small how-to get things done.
PLEASE ONLY PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!
ONLY FOR ZX551ML
Bootloader unlock:
Currently the only way I was able to get ROOT on the phone was by installing it from TWRP which required an unlocked bootloader, so the first step is to get the bootloader unlocked, to do this please follow this steps:
1) Enable USB debugging - If you do not know what is that and how to do it, you should probably STOP right here.
2) Download and extract: Unlock 6_ZX551ML.ZIP
3) From the extracted folder run unlock.bat (This will restart your phone into fastboot mode, downgrade the bootloader and unlock it)
4) When step 3 is completed, you need to run restore.bat
If everything went on correctly your boot screen should be inverted (white background, black Asus text). This was the most risky part. I only have my phone and it worked, but if something goes wrong here you might end up bricking your phone, so please take extreme care, always read the messages on the screen!!!!!
Custom Recovery:
1) Now to get a custom recovery, please download TWRP-3.0.2-M1-Z00A.img.
2) Put your phone into bootloader mode, if your phone is currently in use, just use the following commands:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Alternatively you can power off the phone, remove the USB cable. Power it back on while holding the volume up button.
3) once your phone if in bootloader mode please use the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.0.2-M1-Z00A.img
4) Use the vol up & down to select "RECOVERY"
5) Use the power button (short press) to reboot to TWRP
ROOTING
1) Download BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328-patch-by-shakalaca-for-zenfone2-6.0_(1).zip
2) In recovery select Advanced -> Sideload
3) From your computer use the following commands:
Code:
adb sideload "BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328-patch-by-shakalaca-for-zenfone2-6.0_(1).zip"
4) Once it's completed installing, restart the phone to system
FLASHABLE STOCK ROM
If you have TWRP installed and you want to flash the latest stock ROM, you will need to, make sure you un-root your phone from the supersu app, reboot to recovery and sideload the zip. You can also copy the zip to your phone and install it from twrp. When installing the stock rom, your bootloader will be locked again, so you will need to unlock it (if you wish), also you will need to root again, because the root is lost. However the modified stock rom will NOT remove the custom recovery giving you freedom to flash whatever you like in the future...
XPOSED
Xposed on our device won't work if we have SuperSu installed. If you want to use Xposed modules you will need to use PHH's SuperUser instead. All files required for Xposed/Magisk/Phh's SuperUser are available in the Xposed folder.
Available modified stock rom versions:
UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.141-user-TWRP.zip - Updated: 2016-Oct-07
UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.197-user-TWRP.zip - Updated: 2016-Dec-16
Files can be downloaded from: here
Again, please proceed on your own risk.
Special tanks and credits to all the guys who made this possible, namely:
@sorg @social-design-concepts @shakalaca - For bootloader unlock
@jrior001 for the TWRP
@shakalaca - For the modified SuperSU package.

Yes I'm using Magisk, but even with it I wasn't able to use Google Pay. To get back to non inverted, you will need to flash the locked bootloader.

While essentially true the user can always use a different boot animation by flashing one via twrp. There might even be one somewhere of the unmodified asus screen.
Can anyone confirm the flashable Rom mentioned in Post #1 is MM 6.0.1? I ask because my phone upgraded itself right after I booted it up and I wondered if it was on a newer version than the downloadable one. Pretty sure the update was only security updates given it was only around 80mb.
The actuall boot screen is only a couple of seconds long while the boot animation shown

Well as usual the linux users drew the short straw. The shell script is for mac users. I decided to see about running the lines manually but never even reached the "danger zone". As soon as I did an "adb reboot bootloader" I followed up with "sudo fastboot devices" (some linux distro's need sudo..some don't)....and nothing shows up although I can clearly see the device is hooked up and in fastboot mode as well as the fact the adb reboot bootloader worked. I swap out one of my other devices and check things...they show up fine in fastboot....ok...so what's missing from this picture?
*update* solved by updating the ubuntu adb and fastboot binaries from here: https://github.com/simmac/minimal_adb_fastboot/tree/master/linux
*update2* bootloader unlocked, supersu flashed and verified. Much appreciated.
I ran the bootloader unlock and it appeared to work. Now it keeps booting back into the bootloader. I can't seem to get it to boot normal. Suggestions?
Nevermind, I didn't realize that I needed to run restore.bat while still in the bootloader. It is booting now! I was able to follow your guide and it is now rooted.
Regarding the marshmallow zip you include. I have a couple questions.
- For the modified stock version that will keep the recovery do I just need to flash it from recovery?
- Do I need to unroot before flashing this modified stock marshmallow?
Thanks!

Happy to read you got it booting, by the time I got to answer you seemed to git it figured out.
Regarding the zip, yes flash from recovery and you don't need to unroot before, but you will need to root after flashing.
However I do suggest you make a backup before flashing jsut in case....

I'm assuming the file is just for folks who are on lollipop who want to upgrade? Didn't see any need to flash it since already on 6.0.1 and have it rooted...unless I'm missing something again.
I read this after I went to 6.0.1 from Asus's manual download and update process. I can't get ADB to connect in the OS (developer mode never displays, even though it tells me I'm a developer after doing kernel ver. button process). I tried to get adb devices -l in fastboot and recovery, and it wont discover it. I've tried multiple windows drivers (including the one that worked when I flashed the firmware the first time) to no avail. Any ideas?

If windows doesn't see the phone when in recovery there is something wrong, this can be:
1) Wrong driver
2) Damaged USB cable
3) Damaged USB port.
When you are in recovery you should see the phone with adbm if you are in fastboot you should see the phone with:
Code:
fastboot devices
If nothing works you have the nuclear option.
Manually download the original firmware from Asus website: https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/26/BXbNqJplzZiLmk6G/32/
copy the zip to an Sd card.
1) Now Turn Off your phone and boot into recovery mode by pressing Power+Volume UP.
2) Now in recovery mode choose to apply update from sdcard.
3) Now select the zip file.
4) Now wait until the process complete and then Reboot the phone.
5) Done!

More or less true, but somehow I was on a 6.0.1 version which is now gone from the firmware list of Zenfone, meaning I have updated from 6.0.1 to 6.0.1
Again now I see there is a new firmware released yesterday if I have the time I will patch that system image as well so it can be upgraded with TWRP.

Actually most if them can be. Here is a print screen of the ones I have disabled on my phone hover I have a zenpad z380c which I use as my car dashboard and on that one o have disabled almost of all of the apps, except zenhome, audio manager and the file manager.

I'm actually enjoying mobile managers auto startup managing...it's done a good job of keeping 10000 things from running at startup that don't need to although "Startup Manager" would do a similar job for free. I'm liking the zenui launcher and calling screen so don't want to break anything related to that...the phone's been performing exceptionally well for days on end with no required reboots. Been very impressed. Previously been fighting with a T-mobile V10 and an Alcatel Idol 3...the v10 had spontaneous reboots...the idol had a stock rom with a bunch of lag in it....tiny to nothing development on both of those.
What about Zentalk, ZenChoice, PhotoCollage, MyAsus Service center, Clean Master, Audiowizard and Bug Reporter?

I use tasker for that, but yes I agree as a whole is not bad, this is my 4rd Asus product (Zenfone 4, Zenfone 2, Zoom and Zenpad) and overall I'm quite impressed with how they perform, just the support from Asus isn't really the top of the cream... they released MM when other were releasing N... so yeah a bit of sour taste, otherwise happy. And the camera, I think it's brilliant, not the best on the market, but the optical zoom is cool, as well as the camera app which allows you to do some nice manual shooting.

Well from the lack of posts it appears you and I ARE the zenfone zoom community. Any idea where the system updates get stored after downloading? I thought in /cache based on regular zenfone posts but was unable to see it. I've got one available but it has to be modified for twrp compatibility as well as unrooting temporarily.
Official updates for our M2 tablet,
although having installed another
recovery and root access, already.
- Disclaimer
Well, whatever you do with this guide is all up to you and in your own responsibility. You
should have basic knowledge about ADB and flashing, which is explained in many other
threads here on our beloved XDA.
- Issue
When you used this guide (https://goo.gl/r04XjJ) or any other one to give your M2 tablet
another recovery and therefore root rights, you have now the problem, that EMUI will show
you new updates, but you are not able to install them, because of the missing stock recovery,
of course.
- Solution
So, you have to flash back the original stock recovery, getting the official update and then you
can flash back your TWRP recovery.
- Guide
1. You should start your EMUI update programme/app and start the download of your update.
When it is finished, it will ask you to reboot into recovery and install automatically. As you have
no stock recovery I strongly advise not to do so. Usually nothing happens, but there is one case
reported, where it somehow ****ed up the guy's tablet. I am not sure, if that story is true, but
well, I have warned you.
2. Just turn your tablet off after you have finished downloading the update (it will wait now in
the directory "HwOUC" on your tablet and it is called "update.zip" - just let it sleep there).
3. Start the tablet in the fastboot recovery mode, meaning plugging in the USB cable (connected
to the computer) and hold the buttons "power" and "volume down", immediately, until a white
screen appears, which is the fastboot recovery screen. It should tell you, it has the bootloader
unlocked, which is normal, because you did that earlier on with any of the other guides (see above).
4. Copy the downloaded stock recovery of your choice to your ADB directory. In my case this is
"c:\ADB", but this depends on your way of installation.
5. Now open up a command line in Windows (with Windows key + R) and type "cmd") and go to
your ADB directory, using commands like "cd .." and "cd adb".
6. When having arrived in the ADB directory, you have to enter these commands one after the other:
fastboot flash recovery stock-recovery.img
fastboot reboot
If you renamed the recovery file, then you have to consider that in the command, of course.
7. The device will reboot directly into the recovery, because it "sees" the update in the update
directory et voila ... you are getting your awaited update. Sometimes it will boot not into the EMUI
recovery directly, but then you hast have to start the tablet normally, open up the EMUI app and
download the update again and do the OTA update properly with the reboot it tells you to do,
when it is finished.
8. Okay, now you have received your update, but if you want to have back your TWRP, you just
have to turn off your tablet and boot into the fastboot recovery again (see 3.).
9. You have to copy your TWRP recovery to your ADB directory (in my case "twrp.img" in "c:\ADB").
10. Now open up a command line in Windows (with Windows key + R and type "cmd") and go to
your ADB directory, using commands like "cd .." and "cd adb".
11. When having arrived in the ADB directory, you have to enter these commands one after the other:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
12. The tablet will reboot and you are back to a working lovely updated M2 tablet.
- Root:
If you want to have root rights, I strongly recommend flashing Magisk within TWRP, because it is
just a nice and more modern approach to having root. It works very fine on my M2 10 tablet. The
link for the files and guide is here:
https://goo.gl/UXYk4d
It is very easy. You just flash Magisk 12 in TWRP and then install the Magisk Manager app from the
Play store.
- Files for M2-802L and M2-A01L:
https://ufile.io/0df492 (all four recoveries here)
https://files.fm/u/aajdmadr (all four recoveries here)
https://www.file-upload.net/download-12438839/HuaweiM2recoveries.rar.html (all four recoveries here)
Have fun with your updated tablet. ... and I am happy, if I could help you - any coffee appreciated.

Additionally, I can offer you the updates B007 and B010 (most current one) for the
M2 10 LTE (M2-A01L), because I managed to save them/back them up. These are the
European versions of B007 and B010 with all language files, I believe.
So, who is having a M2-A01L and is still sitting on B006 or B007, might try a manual
update, which is as easy as pie. It is just one simple step.
Also, an update from B009 to B010 might be possible.
Of course, I cannot give any guarantee for Huawei's update files, which you will

I'd greatly appreciate it, if you could share. Got the problem that my A-01L got corrupted. The only official ROM I've been able to find has been B005 what is somewhat old. As it seems to be a pre-release version the tablet doesn't find any updates. Thus I'd like to try to upgrade to B007, or even B010 manually when I'm back home. Currently I'm on a weekend trip as friends of mine are going to marry tomorrow. Thus I'd be able to download them on Sunday evening if you'd provide them.

I have Magisk running on several devices, including the M2-A01L, but I must admit,
I never got the Safetynet passed, even with Magisk hide enabled.
I just use it as systemless root and with systemless Xposed, which is great.

After enabling magisk hide, you have to reboot your device. Got the 801L working with that and safetynet passes.
Noob Question on recovery files
Hi, and thanks for a incredible well detailed guide for updating. Came here because I haven't found any good recovery files for the wifi model. I've been trying (unsuccessfully may I add...) to install TWRP and magisk. So, my question is: can the recovery files for the LTE model be used on the wifi model? (M2-A01w). Thanks for your help!

Sorry, I have been on vacation.
To be honest, I am not sure, if the recovery for M2-A01L works on M2-A01w, too, but you can just try it.
I think, there should not be that big a problem, because the recovery has nothing to do with Wi-Fi or LTE, at all. It is just important, that partition tables and drives are accessible the same way and well, I really think, there is not much difference in between the M2 10 models.
From M2 8 to 10 there is a difference, of course. That is why I uploaded both recoveries (for 802L and A01L).
Just use that guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m2/how-to/guide-unlock-bootlader-twrp-root-huawei-t3322340) without the SuperSU flashing and my recoveries in this guide.
Hi guys,
I need help, I have a M2 10 LTE previously modded with TWRP for root and I've just followed this guide to update from 007 to 010 version.
So I've flashed the stock-recovery, rebooted the tablet, requested the firmware update (I don't know if I got any error during the process) and the tablet has rebooted. Now it's stuck on HUAWEI logo..
I use this tablet for work so I really need to recover it asap.
Please help.

Could upload the B010 fullstock ROM/firmware. Thus you could reset the device to the latest stock ROM using the /dload method and gain a factory rested Huawei, as if out of the box. Just quote me if you'd want me to upload and I'll share the link asap. Took that way myself as soon as I found the full stock ROM.

Re-download custom ROM again. Use file manager if needed. Most likely a corrupt download.

Hi Robert,
My apologies for the short answer earlier.
Your device does not seem te be bricked. Yet. At least, not with the info you provided thus far. I am guessing you already googled "MiFlash crc check fail." Some of the options were; use a different archiver, re-download, sideload, rename file and folder into short names or boot a custom recovery (instead of flashing) and install that way.
I've had this exact same problem before (see bottom of post), hence my short reply.
Do you have custom recovery? Can you tell me what happens if you flash custom ROM for the Mi Max 3 that way?
It seems your goals is to flash official. Out of the top of my head, you could also install Official Global ROM through adb & fastboot. This needs unlocked bootloader though if I'm not mistaken, not sure if that's the case here. Alternatively, you can try using another computer. Or don't use MiFlash.
My issue with installing Global ROM was that the first 85% of the download took 3 minutes. The last 15% 5 seconds. I downloaded from official site. Install gave CRC Check Fail everytime. I tried 3 times. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I then used a Google Drive link with matching size and details and everything worked like a charm.
I sincerely hope any of this helps. As with everything Mi Max 3 related, please be aware of arb. Sorry for the generic warning but you can never be sure.

So there's this tutorial for installing windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5
Simple and easy way unlike past methods. And it's available for all users
How to Install Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5 - Gizmochina
It’s been more than a year since the Xiaomi Pad 5 is here with all its high-end specifications consisting of Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870 on respective models. Surprisingly, the Android tablet from Xiaomi can now run Windows 11 without any major bugs or flaws. As spotted on Geekbench...
www.gizmochina.com
It works using one click installer (chinese tool)
The problem is that it lack a lot of details and support is only on chinese.
Did anyone tried it?
I searched on the internet no other websites or YouTube videos
Yesterday I was about to install it and try it but the prompt box said there's a high risk of getting a bricked device and using Mi Flash Tool in fastboot won't help after updating the partitions so basically it's beyond my expertise.
I already has the ArrowOS custom ROM not MIUI.
And how can someone fix a bricked device after updating partitions.
I installed windows 11 on my xiaomi mi 8 that have a snapdragon cpu, the same as mi pad 5 and the process should be the same. When i modified partitions for installing windows 11, i was not able to reinstall android because “userdata” partition got deleted. With “parted” tool (or the same tool used for modify partitions), i deleted all windows paritions and re-created the default “userdata” one, so i was able again to install android and use mi flash tool. (Always take a screenshot or a backup of the default partition lable, in case you have to restore it)
Found a video that should be useful:
Thank you so much
The video is great but the tool is much easier (one-click installation tool)
I have no expertise in modifying partitions, so ur experience in ur mi 8 would be very valuable.
I might need to ask u some questions when things get messed up if choose to proceed with it.

yes, i can help you in this process, but it’s a bit different than xiaomi mi 8, because i did it 1 year ago, so, maybe I should be able to help only in cases of problems. If you can, post here a screenshot of the default partition lable.
EDIT: if you want to dualboot, the process is a bit different, because you will have to shrink the userdata partition, not remove it completely. This way you should be able to use flash tool even with windows installed, but I'm not sure, because I'm not familiar with this guide. But remember that with the dualboot you will have less space in both operating systems.
I'd recommend using commands instead of the automatic tool, but if you're not familiar with cmd, then you're free to do whatever you want. However, I leave the official guide (for dualboot) https://github.com/erdilS/Port-Windows-11-Xiaomi-Pad-5/blob/main/guide/English/1-partition-en.md

If you brick your device is very difficult to unbrick it. I have an POCO F3 which is bricked and it has passed over 4 months and i can't do anything to unbrick or restore the partitions. If you are new study a week or two about android partiotions in internet be experienced and after that try to port windows 11.
But if you liked tweaking and you want the maximum perfomance of your tablet take a look at my guide.
The same tool (Engage Machine Toolbox V2.1.2) Has a button to revert the partitions and make userdata last partition and delete the windows ones. Once that's done you simply reboot and will boot to android(in case it crashed in the middle of the process). If it still doesn't boot, flash with mi flash because it will work now, or use fastboot rom. Anything but clear all and lock. Do not use that option(I don't know why it's applied by default at mi flash startup+load images folder).
I just bricked my mi pad 5 last night, struggled for several hours until I managed to revert it to Android. Still haven't been able to install Windows 11 on it. I reach the point in the gizmochina tutorial where it makes the partitions, it never asks for the wim file, throws error : no uefi or windows partitions found. Haven't tried to install manually, like create partitions and flash partitions using cmd.

You're so correct about the clear all and lock thing, it once happened to me during installing fastboot rom cuz its the default option. The solution is just use the mi unlock tool again and it will do the job. Regarding installing windows, will u try the tool again or try manually? In both cases, if it works , please let me know id really appreciate it
I will try the manual way because i spent like 5 hours trying this tool.
5, because there is no backout plan in case something happens.
I always hate this about all tutorials out there : they assume it works 100%. If it fails, no help from anyone.
The tool throws errors like : data is not formatted(because you need to format data via recovery and then boot straight into fastboot...anything else fails), partition table failure(because the userdata is not the last partition(this happens when the partitions are made for windows install), and last error that I got was "windows or uefi partition not found"...i still haven't cracked this one.
I think I have time today to try manually. Will let you know.
Yup that's unfortunate it says if you have questions ask in the comments and there's no comment section at all. It's barely a guide.
For example: they should've mentioned that thing about formatting and booting directly to fast boot. While in the tutorial it says format then reboot then go to fastboot which is useless cuz when you first boot after formatting data you've already lost ur formatted state. Anyways I wish you good luck with manual tutorial.. the dual boot one that Maxsenza151 shared seems a good option. Waiting to hear from u

There is no comment section because the text is copy-paste from somewhere else.
So I did the dual boot and it works like in this tutorial :

The issue is that camera and speakers do not work and the charge is amazingly slow.
I'm hoping on some driver updates in the future but for now I'm using it on Android...

Just do the manual One. The Renegade Project team highly recommend to follow the GitHub guide that i sent to you. If you use your brain, you can do It, its quite simple too. Join Project Renegade telegram group and ask them.
P.S: on the renegade project website they say that you need to follow github guide because there are some importand device-specific steps!
In the photos, you can see what they say.
(There is a uninstall guide too on github)

Just do the manual One. The Renegade Project team highly recommend to follow the GitHub guide that i sent to you. If you use your brain, you can do It, its quite simple too. Join Project Renegade telegram group and ask them.
P.S: on the renegade project website they say that you need to follow github guide because there are some importand device-specific steps!
In the photos, you can see what they say.
(There is a uninstall guide too on github)

Flash.andriod.com can do more than pixel flasher. have had the same issue with my phone seemingly dead being brought back to life using that website. (note i haven't tried andriod 14 it was when a rom flash went wrong)

PixelFlasher does have a lot of the same capabilities as Android Flash Tool, but PF is more for rooting/kernel/ROM flashing than it is for recovery purposes -- which is the primary reason for AFT. PF has various different checks and protocols, while AFT has protocols more for properly flashing/resetting device to stock or recovery repair.
So while PF can flash the stock Full Factory image (to both slots and/or platform-tools checks and/or adding various arguments [without wiping, disabling verity&verification, etc.]), AFT links directly to Google's developers page that holds the Full Factory images and works just on flashing those.
Flash Tool saved my butt after I flashed the wrong kernel...
Visit this site on a PC, edit the settings and check the boxes 'wipe' and 'force flash partitions'

It's not a tool you install...it's all "run" through what browser you are using (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
You click "Get Started", make sure you download and install the USB Drivers it suggests you should (if you have already, you can click "Already installed"), allow the browser "ADB access", click "Add new device" and then it will wait until you connect your device to the computer and the tool (within the browser) will detect it and continue on from there...
Try to particularly read & pay close attention to any steps or suggestions the site states as it will assist in connecting and/or any problem/troubleshooting you might need to do to get it working with the tool...

Had you checked what's under that pull-down option (down arrow) on the right of your device ("Pixel 6 Pro (raven)")? or searching "raven" in the search box?
In any case, I went ahead and searched the latest (non-Verizon) build number for your device (raven), and you should be able to find the latest (May Full Factory Image) as: TQ2A.230505.002.
If you are using your device on Verizon's network, the "build" would be: TQ2A.230505.002.G1
These will update it to Android 13 (latest); in case you are still on Android 12 and/or do not wish to upgrade (for whatever reason).
