FWIW:
I have had the sound stop for a few days - annoying, went thru setting nothing seemed amiss. Searched tried XDA forum, found your entry and the reply and your answer -- went into my settings and 'Sound' - I couldn't find "Advanced" , about to hang up and must have scrolled down further 'Other sounds and vibrations' .. there it was .. and it had been switched off !?!
Fiiped it - it works now.
Easier (if you know what to search for)
-- open settings, in the search area type 'charging sound' -
click the text that is raised.

Does anybody have a problem with the notification light on their GNEX? LTE model.
Mine turns blue when charging, but when I move the cable it dims some, then it goes back to fully lit, and sometimes its not on at all.
Is my phone jacked up or what, no matter the rom, it does not work normally.
Tell me whats up!
Thanks...
My LED shows no indication that I'm charging. Didn't when I was on stock (4.0.1 and 4.0.2) and doesn't now that I'm on Redemption ROM 1.5.0 (4.0.3 base).

Not that I'm aware of at this time. If you plug it in and just let it sit, will the light come on and stay on? How about if the phone is OFF when you plug it in -- same behavior?

Same, I can wiggle the power cable and the light goes away, or dims, or comes back, its like theres a bad connection. Has anybody else reported this problem?
Something's not righr. If you got it locally, I'd go back and see what they have to say.. If you're running "standard" ROMs then I'd be concerned there's an electrical malfunction or crossed wires so it's not something I'd mess with.

Running Winnner00 CM9 + Franco kernel (tried nightly 160 and stable M3)
Using Franco's app I am unable to enable force fast charging. The checkbox in Settings seems to be ignored. Tried both nightly and stable kernels, reboots, etc. It does work from command line, so I think the issue is in the app itself. Am I missing something here?
Any suggestions?
Does CM9 have the option built in? I know AOKP does. I leave them both fc options enabled (rom & kernel) because I charge my phone in the car waaay more often then I plug it up to the comp. If CM9 has an option for it enable it there.

did you unplug before turning it on? you cant be plugged in while enabling fast charge.
Also, try updating your superuser (even if it says it is up to date). Just a thought as I've read this can cause issues.
Afaik, CM doesnt support fastcharge.

Yeah, basically it is a combination of a few things - one is that even though it says it is enabled at boot time, it is not. You have to turn it off and back on. The second is what you mentioned, you have to unplug it and plug it back in if you turned it on while plugged in.
I ended up using a plug-in for Tasker to manage it, though it is wierdly hard to GET the current state (how hard is it to read a file, apparently hard) from Tasker, though setting state works.

You can check out Secure Settings plugin (sorry, can't post links yet, but search it) - it is great for a LOT of things including this (its under Custom ROM options)

"THANK YOU" (For ur thanks meter)
But, on a serious note, i got the solution for the problem already..
For others out there seeking the solution to the problem, the trick is to unplug and then again plugin the USB cable after you enable the fast charge..
And then in battery stats it should show charging(AC) instead of charging(USB)

Sorry, I missed that this was the issue you were trying to solve. Yeah, when you switch the charging mode, it only takes effect after you next plug in. It will not change your current connection - which can be especially tricky if you reboot while plugged in.
I wanted it to be on by default since I hardly ever use USB for data. I would love to have the ability to have it come up enabled and to disable it, but that does not seem to be how it works - which, I guess, makes sense as you would loose any ability to debug in case of emergency, as in fast charge mode all data communication over USB is off.

If you keep the fast charge option enabled, it would always be on by default, (the way YOU need it), and when ever u want to use the USB, turn it off..
There are plenty of apps on google play which support simple toggle between fast charge on/off.. many of them have widgets too.. which makes it more than easy, just a tap away..

Not entirely true - first of all for this to stay on you have to have Franco's app (or another app that turns it on at boot time) to auto-turn it on on boot - it does NOT keep state across reboots. At the time of the original posting in this thread, the Franco's app did NOT work for this, so you had to manually go into it and turn it off and back on again before it worked - so I automated this via Tasker. Just tested, seems like it is working now (although it takes a while after boot before the setting is applied, Tasker/Secure Settings route is MUCH faster). Secondly, if you boot up with the USB cable in, it will ALWAYS boot into USB mode because of what I said before. (Unplugging it and plugging back in once it is fully booted and fast charge is on, will turn then register it as AC).
But yes, there are a number of other routes and apps to do this.

I said that because mine stays on across reboots..
If your option turns off, Tasker is no doubt the next option..
And regarding booting with USB cable plugged in, i already mentioned in a previous post that you will have to unplug and plug in the USB cable again to enter into fast charge mode with stats as Charging(AC)
Hi,
Phone was being weird as **** so I took the battery out. Went to switch back on -> 5 vibrates and solid green light.

Make sure your phone has enough charge. Connect it to your charger and leave it for a while. Try again after sometime.
I've had similar problems and it was solved by charging. But some people are not so lucky.. A similar problem here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925430
Are you having the same problems?

Left to charge or just like that?
I have a big issue with my Mi Mix 2:
Initially I installed the global stable MIUI 8 without unlocking the device, with the Chinese app. There were issues with the phone (Android Auto and Spotify would not integrate, etc) of which the most important:
The phone would freeze and would have (not always) to be reset. I was using Nova Launcher and different themes. If, when frozen and the screen was black, I would call myself from another device I could hear that my phone was supposed to ring but nothing was happening. I would eventually restart the phone.
I did a flash of the phone eventually after I unlocked the bootloader but forgotten to do a wipe. I had some errors, did the wipe and all went smooth.
I used default theme to limit errors.
Yesterday got the MIUI 9 update and the phone became noticably faster. Went back to pixel Oreo theme and Nova.
This morning I was charging the phone and unplug it but the screen did not turn on. Nothing I could do. I called myself the phone would not wake up but in the other phone I could hear it ringing. Plugged back in the charging LED light up and a charging sound. Unplug it and took it with me. Pressed the power button and there was a vibration and the screen went on. I then waited for the theme to load ( heavy theme) and I saw that the wallpapers disappeared. Also there was a prompt : Mi finder stopped or so.
Not sure what caused this. I logged out of the Mi account which is full by the way. I decided now to use the default theme with Nova launcher.
Any thoughts or ideas?
This starts to drive me crazy.
Thanks

Did that eventually as I mentioned
i was playing a mobile game that has high graphics, when my phone started to showing network private dns not being found error message. also started having a bit of wifi issues, had to reboot to fix it
5min later screen freezes during gameplay and turns black. couldn't do anything. i had to reboot it, but the same thing kept happening over and over again for while. until the last reboot, above the poco logo boot-screen a thick static line showed up and instead of going into the homescreen it stayed black.
can't seem to charge it either, when i connect a usb i don't hear any sounds. what happened? why is this happening
P.S. battery was still high if this needs to be known info, was wired to my pc. also didn't do any updates either.
edit: there are times i hear the boot up jingle when pressing powerbutton, but thats it
edit 2: can connect with usb (hear jingle), but screen is still black
but can you reboot to recovery or bootloader, by holding the right buttons when rebooting. (recovery power + volume up. release power when screen on. bootloader same story but volume down).
The usb port and the display cable are really close to each other. maybe because you kept the usb plugged in while gaming, you created some sort of movement and partly disconnected the display cable.
maybe just maybe your screen going bad because over heat try to call your phone if you could hear the sound yep sounds like your get bad screen and need replacement

It does - phone is garbage imo. Unless u lucked out and got unlocked version of GPU ( Search konabess 870 ) I'd probably sell it / swap it for some 865 device.
Something like mi 10t pro can do 20hours screen on time with right tweaks
First take it for repair - this is hardware issue that they need to fix under Warranty - then figure out what you wanna do with it
it happen to me when trying some pixel oriented roms. the phone itself can charge but the screen always dark, you might be able to feel slight warn on the back. yes its hardware and I change the whole motherboard freely on xiaomi service center

if you feel it vibrate then its probably the screen better take it to a repair shop if you have warranty but dont let them give you a new phone or you'll lose your data
tell them to keep your data
what if its hardware? is my data gone?
depends on the part of the phone if its the motherboard your data is likely to not be restored by the average repair shop
