Hi All,
I've got a Note 10+ 5G and was wondering how would one go about rooting this device on the latest Samsung firmware
N976BXXU6FUBDThe guides that I have seen such as Dr.Ketans thread, instruct to flash a boot loader image that on his media fire page. does not match the firmware I'm running.
As I wouldn't want to flash anything that would break the phone, I'm wondering if someone can give me a method on how to root the stock rom.
thanks
did you find a solution? I manage to root the same model as yours tricking the lz4 files which is the new type of extension in Android and for this you can not root in a normal way. I followed this guide
Fix Oreo Firmware Installation Issue in Odin for Samsung Devices - DroidViews
Android Oreo has finally made its way to Samsung's latest S series flagships, the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Oreo update brings with it the usual Android Oreo features such as Picture-in-Picture, redesigned Settings app, etc. It also brings with it Samsung Experience 9.0 which is but a fancier name…

After having the 4 stock files modified without lz4 you must flash them with Odin.
After you take the modified AP file and patch it with Magisk.
Then you flash again stock using the patched AP file and the rest of modified files but you must not select autoreboot in Odin. When the flashing is done you must exit download mode and imediatelly enter in Recovery mod but better use this guide

you can google if samsungsfour
tutorials/how-to-root-galaxy-s9-on-android-8-0-oreo-using-cf-autoroot-method-all-models works

I'm really not sure if it's working or safe but the download links are direct from a xda mod website by chainfire
I found one way to unlock the bootloader on my galaxy s9 sm-g960w
I used this firmware on this page, it's a crom.(combinat...), https://shell.boxwares.com/Download.aspx?L=8417
Although the page says it's for the sm-g960w, the filename once downloaded says it's for g960u. Nonetheless, after flashing using odin the patched version, you can unlock the bootloader in Developer settings. At least for me it's there.
So, using this crom enable to unlocked bootloader, firmware.mobi doesn't contain a CF-AUTO-ROOT file for this version of the firmware.(COMBINATION_FAC_FA80_G960USQU3ARG2) so I still unsure whether it can be rooted. When I visit the samsungfour.com website, it gives me a security certificate error and fails to load so I cannot say for certain that the tutorial on their website for the sm-g960w snapdragon 845 varient works or not. I'll try the website later tonight or tommorow and post back here.
what is the point of unlocking the bootloader if no roms or kernels exist for this version?
Can I flash g960u1 firmware over my g960w?
I am using a rooted Galaxy S9+ running the latest version of LightROM.
I recently discovered that Android 10 beta is out but since I am on a custom ROM, I have decided that I want to revert back to stock and then use Samsung Members in order to obtain the update. From what I understood, I needed to flash a firmware that is eligible for the beta update, which is why I downloaded the latest UK firmware from SamMobile (G965FXXU7CSK1_G965FOVF7CSK1_VOD).
I would like to know how things will work before I proceed. These are the steps from my understanding:
1) Backup everything so I can format the device
2) Flash the firmware mentioned above using ODIN
3) After the installation is complete, run Samsung Members in order to obtain the update or use one of the OTA zip files floating around (for S9+ Exynos)
4) After the update is complete, flash TWRP and root using this guide
Am I missing something or is that the entire process? My phone's model number is SM-G965FZKGEGY and it is an unlocked variant of the Exynos Galaxy S9+ (dual-sim). Would my phone have to be from a specific region (CSC or w.e) or should the process above work fine? And lastly, is Spotify still broken on Android 10 or was it fixed with an update?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Hello how can i get directions to flash twrp and root on my 10+5g sm-n976 i already unlocked the bootloader
I know if you search a form there is unlocking for our V model, but I spoke to the guy and if there is no development backing this device (and its soon going to pass the range it ever will) So why unlock the bootloader if there is no next step? Just sharing what I have remembered, cheers mate!

Hi all,
It's a couple of days I am trying to root my note10+ however even looking very simple I can't go over the bootloader.
Following the istruction I have:
downloaded firmware accordingly
patched with magisk
unlocked bootloader
unlocked developer mode and toggled OEM unlocking option
When using odin I get the error on phone "blocked by OEM lock" even if it is ulocked on the mobile, I've tried everything!
Any idea please?
Attaching photo as the only doubt I have is on the bootloader screen where I can read on top "odin by xxx"
Thank you in advance
which instructions did you follow?
can you please give me instructions on my smn975u

preface: I am not new to this kind of thing.
However I have a SM-T727V (Verizon Wireless LTE/4G model)
Problem I am having is when I try to use Frija or other downloaders to get the firmware it says it cannot find them. (the CSC on this device is VZW)
I am not tied to using the Verizon ROM, since I am not planning on using their data service. So I would love to get this device onto a fully unlocked ROM (and all the Verizon bloatware gone!). At the least being able to load CFW
So far i have unable to OEM Bootloader unlock since that is not an option in the developer options. rebooting into "adb reboot bootloader" it just stays at "waiting for device" (i do have the samsung drivers installed)
So I am really kinda stuck at step one.
Not sure if I can use an alternative base firmware from Frija based off a different CSC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you.
UPDATE:
I started following this guide. and it looks like I was able to flash to a differnt verison and then OEM Unlock!
