you can google if samsungsfour

I'm really not sure if it's working or safe but the download links are direct from a xda mod website by chainfire

I found one way to unlock the bootloader on my galaxy s9 sm-g960w
I used this firmware on this page, it's a crom.(combinat...), https://shell.boxwares.com/Download.aspx?L=8417
Although the page says it's for the sm-g960w, the filename once downloaded says it's for g960u. Nonetheless, after flashing using odin the patched version, you can unlock the bootloader in Developer settings. At least for me it's there.
So, using this crom enable to unlocked bootloader, firmware.mobi doesn't contain a CF-AUTO-ROOT file for this version of the firmware.(COMBINATION_FAC_FA80_G960USQU3ARG2) so I still unsure whether it can be rooted. When I visit the samsungfour.com website, it gives me a security certificate error and fails to load so I cannot say for certain that the tutorial on their website for the sm-g960w snapdragon 845 varient works or not. I'll try the website later tonight or tommorow and post back here.

what is the point of unlocking the bootloader if no roms or kernels exist for this version?

Can I flash g960u1 firmware over my g960w?

AT&T Galaxy Note 4 N910A 5.1.1 Root for CM?

Hey,
Still a bit of a noob to the whole rooting process and navigating XDA forums, so I'm having trouble finding the information *I think* I should be looking for. Basically, my phone's just begun crashing periodically, multiple times a day: anything from Camera, Process System, Touchwiz Home Launcher, or Samsung Apps have "stopped working" / "not responding" before. Of course, my phone's warranty has expired, but my contract isn't up so an AT&T Store wont re-image it for me :crying:
Even I can tell, at this point, that it's either my OS that's failing, or it's my hardware. I figured the easiest way to test this would be to put some stable CyanogenMod on it.
The information I'm looking for is: "is this possible?"
AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4
SM N910A UCU2DOI2
Currently @ 5.1.1
Thanks for reading,
~Vita.
No it is NOT possible to use any form of custom firmware or to root this device. It has a locked bootloader that has yet to be cracked open and the future of that happening os very bleak to non existant.
As for reimaging the device go to the note 4 at&t general section on the forum and read up on using odin and the 5.1.1 image posted there it will wipe the phone and format yhe system and data partitions and reinstall it like a new phone just like at&t would do or the manufacturer if you sent it to them.
Good luck
Thanks for the response.
Sorry for the dumb question, but isn't Odin able to flash any firmware onto a device? The "locked bootloader" means that only the stock OS may be reinstalled? Why is this...
Also, it seems unlock progress is being made on the N910V. Maybe hope?
Thanks for mentioning Odin, I'll try re-imaging the phone.

Well the problem is the kernel the bootloader prevents the devs from using an unsecure kernel (one not created and signed by at&t) on the phone if one is used the phone stops boot and says it is an unsecure non at&t kernel and to take thenphone to at&t store.
Odin can only write the firmware versiom that is currently on this phone in this case it is 5.1.1 if you flash any other note 4 versoin such as 4.2.2 it will brick.
Sm-910a flash example
Update ver Official at&t 5.1.1 / currently on phone 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 = good
Update ver (downgrade)oficcial at&t 4.2.2 / currently on phone 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 = brick not good or odin fail
Update from another carrier such as tmobile or verizon for 910t 910v 910g = fail (do not attempt)
Until oir boot loader is unlocked there is nothing we can do to mod or use custom firmware on this phone any attempt leads to a brick requiring using odin to re-flash the latest firmware (5.1.1 at this time) in order to make the phone functional again.

So from what I understand, I could use Odin to flash the 4 files which correspond to the specific AT&T 5.1.1 SM-901A version of my phone (which is exactly what I have) to re-image the device and make it functional again. The problem is, I cannot find these devices on sammobile D:
Could someone direct me to these files? Or are they not out because AT&T sucks? Or, what.

I am sure that you are referring to a sim unlock. A sim unlock and unlocked bootloader are two completely different entities. To flash a custom rom you will need to have your bootloader unlocked, which is something that a few of us are currently working on. Until then, no custom roms can be flashed on the att variant Note 4s. Take care
the boot loader says Qualcom secure boot : disabled ?
in the boot loader screen ?

Your phone is SIM UNLOCKED which has NOTHING to do with root, bootloader, or custom roms.

Just made a jump from note 2 to note 4 - Need suggestions

Hello community,
I got a Note 4 N910V and the jump was something incredible. I am in love with the thing.
My note 2 was rooted and had the Resurrection Remix rom. I felt free to customize it since I didn't have to worry about the bootloader or anything but it was really sluggish.
My note 4 came with 5.0.1(stock rom) and skiming through the forums I'm seeing things like 'safely upgrade to MM'. Makes me thing the OTA update ain't working right for everyone.
I'm not getting any OTA updates, could be because I'm not in the US and my phone is unlocked for a local telco.
I have a couple of questions
- Is the MM update fine? Battery, performance, root? how would I update if I'm not getting any OTA updates?
- I know about kingroot but is it recommended as the root option for my OS version. I found this but It's been a long time since I rooted a phone.
- Any popular ROM/Mods? RR was a big thing in the note 2 community (also a couple of custom kernels).
Pics of what I got down below.
Thank you for your time.
I'm using this phone on Bell Mobility in Canada and was unable to get the OTA. I have no intention of rooting this phone yet.
I was able to get the stock 6.0.1 OTA file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
I was able to update using the stock recovery without issue....

Hey man thank you for your answer!
Did you have any problems with the unlocked properties (telco wise, no bootloader) when flashing these things?
I also checked my download mode and doesn't say anything about developer. Seems fine showing up Odin mode so I'm going to assume this is a retail version.

The only way to get an ota is to be on Verizon. Other wise you'll need to download the update and flash with Odin or flash with stock recovery.
The reason for the "safe update to mm" threads are for people who rooted and unlocked the boot loader. You'll need to follow one of those threads if you want root. Nothing wrong with just updating to mm other than you'll have to downgrade to 5.1.1 if you later decide you want root and unlocked boot loader
These phones become really unstable if you just try to root and you lose root once you restart the phone.

no worries about your english, i can completely understand you and im a moron
here is the list of firmwares for your device

no, its not unlockable nor is it rootable. If you need those things, youll be best served by getting the F version instead of the U
also, be careful with flashing updates past revision 3 on your bootloader, you cant go backwards once youve flashed a new er one

Update Firmware SM-G965U

Hi guys, I recently purchased a refurbished S9+ without knowing the model and it turned out to be a SM-G965U. After a failed software update ("Your current software isn't supported. Visit a service centre"), I've been trying to find a way to update the phone to 'official' Android 10. Does anyone know if this is possible or is the phone locked to Android 9?
'OEM Unlock' is missing from developer settings which (I think) means it can't be rooted with any common method. But is it possible to flash the phone with an official, working version of Android 10?
I'm willing to use any method required (within reason) to update the phone to a working version of Android 10. I'm aware of the "Extreme Syndicate" root method but the bugs / missing features rule it out for me. I intend to get a refund for the phone if it can't be updated to Android 10 so I'd really appreciate any answers to my questions.
Thanks!
You can manually update your phone by using Odin, and download the latest firmware available by using Frija

That's good news. Just to confirm, I can manually update with Odin WITHOUT unlocking OEM in the develop settings? Thanks for replying.
Just confirming that I successfully updated to Android 10 using Odin. The CSC I used is for an American carrier and the phone tries to register on its network but that's easily disabled. Had to be done after every reboot but it's a small price to pay for a working phone....
Hello Guys, I'm currently stuck on G965USQU3ZRLG
I made use of firmware.science to update my S9 plus to this point, but it seems there's no further firmware update for G965USQU3ZRLG to the next update file. Kindly assist, thank you.

Help rooting note 10+ N975F/DS please

Hi all,
It's a couple of days I am trying to root my note10+ however even looking very simple I can't go over the bootloader.
Following the istruction I have:
downloaded firmware accordingly
patched with magisk
unlocked bootloader
unlocked developer mode and toggled OEM unlocking option
When using odin I get the error on phone "blocked by OEM lock" even if it is ulocked on the mobile, I've tried everything!
Any idea please?
Attaching photo as the only doubt I have is on the bootloader screen where I can read on top "odin by xxx"
Thank you in advance

Hi w41ru5, thank you for your reply
I've been searching around, at the end I could manage to unlock properly the bootloader and root with a custom ROM my mobile, harder than expected to find proper files for this model
got stuck bootload, on twrp, some bootloop, stuck after magisks update, but finally is ok now
did you find a solution? I manage to root tricking the lz4 files which is the new type of extension in Android and for this you can not root in a normal way. I followed this guide
Fix Oreo Firmware Installation Issue in Odin for Samsung Devices - DroidViews
Android Oreo has finally made its way to Samsung's latest S series flagships, the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Oreo update brings with it the usual Android Oreo features such as Picture-in-Picture, redesigned Settings app, etc. It also brings with it Samsung Experience 9.0 which is but a fancier name…
www.droidviews.com
After having the 4 stock files modified without lz4 you must flash them with Odin.
After you take the modified AP file and patch it with Magisk.
Then you flash again stock using the patched AP file and the rest of modified files but you must not select autoreboot in Odin. When the flashing is done you must exit download mode and imediatelly enter in Recovery mod but better use this guide
