My camera does not focus - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all the community, first of all I apologize for my bad English, I wanted to share with you a problem on my redmi note 8 pro, since yesterday I have problems with focusing, it seems like stuck in one place and I cannot focus other, I have the phone for a year and it has never given me such problems, about 4 weeks ago I did a system update but I can assure that the problem was not there, and also the phone did not pick up falls that could explain this malfunction which at this point I think is of the hardware type. I am attaching 3 photos, the first taken with the main camera which is the one that does not focus, then one with the wide angle and a photo with the macro to make you better understand what I mean. If you have any solutions, please write them to me. Thank you in advance.

Camera Issue

I just recently bought a used black myTouch 3G Slide, and it is in excellent condition. I only have 1 problem though...... My camera isn't working correctly. I have done some searching online, but I have found no solutions. Everyone seems to replace their phone by T-Mobile. Unfortunately I can't do that since I didn't get the warrant from the guy I bought it from. : / In an attempt to fix this problem I loaded a custom ROM. Cyanogen Mod 6 is amazing, but it didn't fix my problem. I even tried downloading FXCamera from the market, but still nothing. Looking around the net it seems XDA is one of the best forums for android users. Can anyone please assist me, or possibly link something that will help me fix this annoying problem?
Btw, hello everyone at XDA! I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this forum!
I myself probably cannot help, but I can be helpful!
From looking around, I think it might help others here if you describe what exactly is going on with the camera.
Is the screen blank? Does it force close? Can you take pictures, but they don't save or maybe they save as black image? What happens?
I hope that there's some sort of fix for you, since I can't help... but I can try to get more insight into the issue from you... and bump the thread so people can see and maybe help out!
When I take a picture it doesn't focus. Pictures up close are really good quality, but anything that is not right in front of the camera is blurry. I have auto focus on, and tried manually focusin but no luck. I hold my hand still, and I hold down the picture button to focus. It still takes crap pictures.

Sounds like a hardware issue to me, your focus is stuck/broken. Warranty replacement maybe?

Not to be an ass, but did you read my post? I said I bought it from someone on craigslist, and I don't have a warranty.

Yeah I didn't see that at first, sorry. Then aside from buying a broken slide off ebay and salvaging the camera from it and manually installing it into your phone, or paying tmobile to repair it, you're out of luck.
I agree with MusicMan374, it sounds like a hardware issue if you have auto focus on or it doesn't respond when you select what item to focus on using the screen (stock rom)

[q] autofocus camera problem htc one x!

Hello guys, i have had my HTC one X for about a week now. I found a camera autofocus problem... The camera doesn't have focus.. i don't know if the camera suppose to be like that or there is a problem. I have tried, in the camera settings, to reset the settings to default. But it didn't help.. when i take a picture of a text you cannot read the text. But I tried to take a picture with the same text with my old HTC Wildfire and you can read the text.. HOW CAN THAT BE?!!?!? 5 MP CAMERA BETTER THAN 8 MP thats not normal But please some body help =D Thx guys =)
Frankly, the pixel count is far less relevant than the optics on a phone.
Having said that, the One X does have a mechanical focus. It's not much good for macro shots, but it should focus from 20cm or so; touching the preview where you want it focused should focus it, you should be able to hear the motor.

I have the same problem, everything is blurry and no matter how much clicking you do, and how much of the "motor" you hear, the camera just does not focus.
My camera is also terrible indoors, do you have this problem?

I dont know if it is only indoors... i haven't tried it outdoors and yes it is the same problem =(
No one helping?
If you are trying to take a closeup or macro picture, just hold the phone for a second or two and it will autofocus and then press and hold the screen and it seems to even focus a little better. Let go of the screen and it takes the picture.
I attached a picture of a page from a magazine showing text in indoor light, no flash, nothing special, just hold for a second to let it autofocus, touch the screen for another second or so let go.
The other pictures were outside the other day when I was messing around to see how it compared to my old S2 and Gnex. Same procedure, no settings changed.
It seems to be excellent outdoors in natural light and does a decent job indoors with marginal light.
Running the ViperX ROM 2.7.1 with the HTC camera.
Personaly. I fixed the macro mod focusing probleme, by focusing on something right behind the thing i Want to shoot.
Most of the time, it do the trick.

Well thats silly, on the advert they whip it out and take photos and they're brilliant, they also jump out of a plane and video it, I can guarantee that if we did that, we'd just see a blur.
I said it was good outdoors, that isnt the issue, its the close ups/indoors photos that suck and the focus doesn't work at all. IMO

I'm telling you that it wont focus. Even if i touch on the screen. But what ever.. I'll send the phone to repair.. Piece of **** -.-' Thx for helping anyways. I tested two phones. My Old HTC Wildfire and my new One X. The Wildfire gets better picture results. My wildfire has 5 MegaPixel Camera. The One X has 8 MegaPixel. Then I wonder of how my old wildfire can have a better camera? But.. The One X is really nice outdoors. But still.. No focus.. It cannot focus on anything. But when i try to take a picture of a text i wanted to send to my friend so he could read it.. But THE TEXT WONT SHOW UP IN THE PICTUUUUUURRRE =(!!!!

Troubles with autofocus since ARHD 15
Sorry to post here, I don't have the 10 first posts yet, so I cannot post in the ARHD thread...
I've:
HTC ONE X 32GB white org. 401 WWE Europe
CID: HTC_102
hboot 1.31
CWM 5.8.4.0 touch recovery
ARHD 16
Autofocus of the cam is not working at all since ARHD 15.
I've tried to:
clear Dalvik cache
clear cache
reset factory defaults by: ARHD settings menue, recovery and in hboot too
reinstall hboot 1.31 completely with the firmware.zip methode
reinstall CWM and ARHD after super wipe.
Autofocus is not working at all, it stucks in narrow focus till up about 3ft distance...
I may post sample pictures...

Hey guys, I don't know if you solved this problem or not but I had the same issue with my HTC Vivid. I re-flashed the firmware and the camera focused perfectly. It was the weirdest thing, I have no idea what the problem was so I took the shotgun approach. Good luck!!

I only mentioned my HTC Vivid in regards to fixing the One X camera focus issue since the reflash procedure is just about the same. Is that not allowed?
No I don't say its not allowed, but its hard to tell if it harms or helps the phone, because they are completely different....like flashing , the dual-core hox and the international hox....both hox but completely different. And they don't make seperare forum sections for devices for a reason.....that's all

One year manufactures warranty....Call samsung
camera doesn't focus instantly
i read that the phone is the first to have moving parts and it should fous as soon as it opens but mine doesnt. I have to bump the side and my phon3 lags quite a bit when switching between apps
Where did you read that about the camera? (link please) I have never seen such a statement, in fact just the opposite nothing innovative except perhaps the "selfie" feature. (good camera, good stabilization)
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/samsung-galaxy-note-4-1263301/review/6
If it is lagging I would have thought you would see that before 15 days return? Perhaps it isn't lagging and is working as it is designed?
Best bet is what already has been posted, go through Samsung.
I have the same problem with my camera trying to focus. Takes up to a minute sometimes. I've read in forums to have samsung replace it. I'm gonna try to go to att first and see what they say. It is a known issue.

LG G3 (LS990) Rear-Facing Camera Glitch/Failure

I've had my G3 for two years now, and decided I was happy enough with it to keep it past the contract period. My device is rooted, and for a time I'd just been using Xposed on the stock ROM. However, within the last month, I started using different ROMs - Fulmics 5.3 most recently. After some time, my rear-facing camera stopped working. It started as odd glitches, and then progressed (very quickly) to the camera app crashing immediately. I can only get the front facing camera to work now.
First, I tried flashing the backup of the factory ROM - no luck. I wiped the cache through recovery - no luck. Different camera apps either crashed upon trying to access the front camera, or simply showed a black screen. Thinking it was a hardware issue, I ordered a replacement camera and installed it. Nope. I still have the same issue, however now, whenever the camera decides to work for a matter of seconds, it's blurry, but that's another issue.
Here you can see the effects I am receiving.

At this point, I'm not sure exactly what I should try aside from buy a new phone, however I'd really like to avoid that since this is the only issue I'm having with this device. I'd appreciate any input on this. Thanks!
Hey, I'm experiencing the same issue? Did you solve the problem? I have the same effects you show but on the back camera. Please help!!!

Unfortunately, I still haven't found a resolution to this problem. I still can't find any info on this issue, and nothing I've tried has worked. I may just end up buying a new device. It really is unfortunate. I wanted to keep this device for much longer, and I am buying a new one simply due to a camera malfunction.
I've the same problem. I look for solutions in nets and nothing since two weeks. Will The maybe experienced user XDA help?

It's surprising that no one here has experienced this and found a resolution to the problem. If anyone who has posted here finds a fix here or elsewhere, please post the fix or a link for the rest of us. It would be much appreciated.

Above mentioned symptoms are lack of point of the contact on slat sticking the tape of the camera in main board LG G3 in version F400. The pin which unequatly clamps the point of the contact stands from the laser plate over the connector of the camera. Sticking on connector or the single board of the laser of foam about the thickness approx. 1,5 mm. It fixs the matter at me. The apparatus works as he should. Installing physical Redmi Note 6 Camera on Whyred

Hi everyone. I have been actively following this forum for the last year, and would like to thank upfront for every guide and helpful members that helped me make the most of my whyred. I'm posting this here because I can't find any relevant information regarding this matter.
I accidentally cracked the camera glass, and proceeded to replace it. However, after the repair and thorough cleaning, the camera is snapping very blurry pictures, making me assume the camera actually got damaged.
I know it is possible to use the pro camera on the global version and vice-versa. However, I would like to know if it is possible to install the note 6 camera instead as it is the only replacement I found nearby. They are both exactly the same size and connectors, only the sensor being different. As the hardware on both is greatly the same, i figure it could work, maybe with the right drivers, but i don't know for sure.
Should I risk it? BTW I'm on AOSP Extended Rom, don't know if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance for the help.
