Greetings from Spain.
I have a question about the phone. In the specifications it says that the bluetooth version is 5.1. Moreover, the SOC snapdragon 870 has bluetooth 5.2 in its specifications. ??? Can someone explain why? I thought that the built-in bluetooth chip the SOC is of the specific version it claims. ?

FastConnect 6800 which integrated in SD870 supports up to Bluetooth 5.1 only which is the same as SD865. I guess Qualcomm has the incorrect info published.
Given for SD865, while webpage shows it's using FastConnect 6200:

The Snapdragon 865 5G Mobile Platform provides 5G and leading 5th gen AI tech to power premium smartphones with breakthrough camera and gaming features.
www.qualcomm.com
In Product Brief PDF, it shows FastConnect 6800 instead:
https://www.qualcomm.com/system/files/document/files/prod_brief_qcom_sd865_5g.pdf
I'm not surprised if they got it wrong (again). Probably they updated the info based on 865+ (FastConnect 6900 - BT 5.2), and 865 based on 855+ (FastConnect 6200 - BT 5.0).
A quick search indicates all SD870 devices are advertising BT5.1 support which should be the correct info.

But if you look at a few other phones like Black Shark 4, Oppo Find X3. They clearly state that it is using BT5.2. It might be licensing? or maybe something like software/firmware related?

easiest way is to download DeviceInfo HW and check the General pages wifi chip model. the 855 also does get advertised with Fastconnect 6200 but that chips name is WCN3998, my 7T has the WCN3990 that is from the 835. The 7TPro Mclaren "does" have Bluetooth 5.1 but its weird that nobody confirmed it.

I have been looking into some Chineses clones of cell phones and a majority of them use the MT6589 SoC which it very cross compatible with firmware across the board of other phone that use this chip. Most websites say these phone only support 3G:WCDMA 850/2100Mhz which wouldn't work in the USA for 3G speeds. But according to the official site for this chip it has an advanced multi-mode UMTS Rel. 8/HSPA+/TD-SCDMA modem built into it.
My questions are,
1. If this SoC has HSPA+ built into it then why do most site say it only has WCDMA 850/2100Mhz and not the HSPA+ frequencies?
2. If this Chipset has HSPA+ built in but just not enabled, how would we enable it?
I saw the same thing and posted something similar to your thread at a few places....nobody answered. the RF chip use by the 6589 is the mt6167..maybe something I miss.. How it is not been done yet....
if you find something, let me know.
Yes! it supports it
I own a mt6589 chipset device and it supports HSPA+
Hope this helps you. Well my device is Micromax A116
I cannot find any information about hd voice and VoLTE support on zenfone 2.
Someone knows something about these 2 features?
Are they supported?
Thx

Nobody has an answer? Neither for HD Voice only?
Thx

I'm expected for use volte on ZenFone 2 if its supported or will have a firmware improve on android 5.1 5.2 or 6.0 Marshmallow...
All info are welcome
Disappointingly not as per this response.

The modem supports VoLTE, probably a software limitation.

Any update on zenfone 2 VOLTE support?
According to the phone specs, it supports LTE on Band 20 which is 800 Mhz which is the frequency that VoLTE works on (at least on my network, Three UK)
From what I have read the Note 10.1 2014 edition has either a 1.9 GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 5420 SoC processor or a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC processor. How do you tell which CPU it has? I have a P600 (WiFi only). Do they all use the same CPU?
Back then in 2013 no Exynos processor had an LTE modem yet so Samsung has to use Qualcomm processors for that. This means, P600 (WiFi) and P601 (3G) models use the Exynos processor and P605 is the LTE model ie the one with Snapdragon 800. From what I've read online seems like the 800 offers slightly better battery life while the Exynos excels in webpage rendering/loading. Of course this is highly subjective since everything can be tweaked afterall. I have the WiFi model, on average it lasts around 4 days with up to 9 or 10 hours screen on time.

I am also confused about this.
I think Snapdragon 400 MSM 8228 doesn't support 4G.
Snapdragon 400 MSM 8926 supports 4G.
---------- Post added at 10:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 AM ----------
have anyone tried jio sim in redmi 1s?
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series supports 4G LTE but the thing is that it varies on which chip is it.
As mentioned above Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8228 doesn't have LTE whereas Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8926 support it.
There is Redmi 1S 4G available but it was only available in China and it has Mediatek SoC in it. Other than that there's no Redmi 1S supports 4G.
Hope this helps.
Did anyone notice that all mediatek devices/chipsets even the recent G90T, G95, G85, or P-Series etc do not have
Intra-band Non-Contiguous CA (Carrier Aggregation) and
Inter-band Carrier Aggregation in them ?? except for the latest and recently launched Dimensity mediatek series. Most of their devices only have 1 type of Carrier Aggregation, even the latest phones launched with G80, G90T, G95; they only have simple intra-band Contiguous CA type implemented in them. I checked several phones and tested with different operators as well and only one type of Carrier Aggregation implementation is done by mediatek devices while snapdragon has better even on 600-series SOCs, etc.
Isn't this sort of silently being cheated by the mediatek ??. let us just take one SOC... as per mediatek G90T specs on its site it says 3xCA, 4x4 MIMO, 256QAM and speeds upto 1Gbps if you look up the pdf for same G90T series on their product page.
I searched a lot but still couldn't find any info or if anyone is getting other 2 Carrier Aggregation types working for them. But they have started offering all 3 types of CA after Dimensity 5G SOC series. I do understand that not all is offered as per the specs which involves other licensing stuff etc but still this is not right when compared to snapdragon devices. Its sort of like info related to which types of Carrier Aggregation is supported on devices is hid to users and user experiences speed issues related to 4G+ and its related and looking for means to unlock bands or CA types on Software levels which are sort of None for mediatek devices compared to Snapdragon when hardware itself is not support on mediatek.
Can you guys check if your mediatek devices older than dimensity supports Intraband Non-Continuous or inter-band CA ?. using any service mode/code or apps like Netmonster, etc. Do post screenshot if possible.
For those who are not aware or complaining Netmoster doesn't show proper CA info, Netmonster app just shows "LTE-A 2300" for Intraband Contiguous CA (Type 1 CA) along with 4G+ symbol on status bar for 40C;
"LTE-A 2300+2300" will be shown if a Intraband Non-Contiguous (Type 2 CA) is working on device. However this 2nd will not be shown monstly on mediatek devices on non-dimensity devices.
I maintain large database of supported Carrier Aggregation combinations cacombos.com. There you can check different devices combinations support.
Netmonster app is not accurate because it only show connected state and it doesn't always show right. Best way is collect modem log and read it to find supported Carrier Aggregation combinations.
There is also Helio -series modem support non-contiguous CA example: https://cacombos.com/device/CPH1951

Hi man, i am not highly technical person but i need help. I am using poco m4 pro 4G (g96) version which is 4G+ supported phone but it doesn't show 4g+ in status bar when mobile data turned on. While my 3 years old redmi note 8 pro showing 4g+ in exact same place exact same network sim card etc. I have tried messing with Apns and engineering mode settings but everything seems fine. i also checked in net monster app and poco is not combining bands while redmi note 8 is doing it so. i have tried installing other region roms as well but issue is still same.. Any idea what's going on?
