NFC enabled but can't read - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

Hello, my mi mix 2 (12.0.1 Global) can't read nfc anymore but I can't relate if it come after an update or an another event.
NFC is enable in settings, the application for payment as correct autorisations over NFC, but there is no reaction when presenting a NFC terminal or card.
I would prefer avoiding system restore if possible.

SimonsVoss keycard

I'm moving into a new appartment, this is the key for the building it is in.
It says Simonsvoss on it, its the name of the company.
You just have to hold it in front of the lock and it opens automatically.
I thought maybe it uses NFC and you can read out the key and also use your phone as a key.
I tried some NFC reader apps, but none of them got any signal.
I'm not sure if NFC works on my phone (i have a galaxy s3 with cyanogenmod 11 M6 installed).
Anyone knows if this thing even uses NFC?
I'm no expert but it was my understanding that nfc is Bluetooth and these fobs use some other radio signal

There's a number of different reasons why your smartphone can't read it:
- it doesn't support that particular tag: it does happen, perhaps it works on a different frequency, or uses unknown protocols. There isn't much you can do about it.
- that key is not an nfc tag: it sounds unlikely to me, since the way you described how it works makes me think it is actually an nfc tag, but who knows.
- the cyanogenmod you installed doesn't support nfc: have you tried reading other tags with it? What kind of software are you using for reading it? Make sure you can successfully read other kinds of tags: if you happen to have Mifare Ultralight tags, you may use an app I developed a few days ago, UltraManager. if you have other kinds of tags (even the most recent passports have nfc tags embedded), apps like NFC TagInfo should do
- you have accidentally removed part of your nfc hardware accidentally: I know this sounds unlikely, and I would've never suggested it, but earlier today I talked to a guy who claimed he couldn't read any tags: turned out that he had changed his smartphone's battery with an unofficial one, and since that particular smartphone had the hardware on the battery, he obviously couldn't use nfc.
I know this thread is dead, but...Probably not NFC, since I can even scan and copy my Passport (hex codes of fingerprints and so on).
Would be to easy to break into a appartment secured like this

Radio Frequency
The Transponder is a radio transponder, it unlocks the lock by sending a radio frequency which cannot be cloned like traditional RFID ..
Simons-Voss stated this information on their website, in fact that was their main selling point is that the transponders cannot be cloned .. I know this thread is old and all, but I would be interested to know if anyone has figured out a way to hack these locks. I used them, so I am interested to know how their level of security is holding up after all these years ..

no nfc on k430dsy?

Hi,in specifications writes that the phone has NFC or with the last sw in options no NFC,why?
Same with me but i guess this is because of the country because i went through the system folder and found nfc apps uninstalled but installing them was of no use.
When i buy this phone i think there was nfc in options but after update is gone.

Android Oreo has NFC bug

In RR5.8.5(Android7.1.2) and MIUI, I can use an APP CEP pay to pay for Chinese traffic union bus,it use HCE wallet. But in Oreo,i tried a lot roms, such as AEX,Comsic and RR6.0,but it can't work anymore. Then in found that my phone always stay at NFC cardreader mode, even if I set CEP as default NFC app. What's more, when my friend's Xiaomi 6 closed to my 5s and he has Xiaomi wallet bus card(official in Chinese MIUI),his card will be wake up,that is a reason that I found my phone always in card reader mode. Dose someone know why is this?

NFC not working with French public transit card (navigo card) ?

I have the official global version with last official update. In France we are using a NFC public transit card which informations can be loaded on the phone using this official app : "vianavigo" on google play.
It's working fine with my old Xiaomi Mi 5 when i make contact between the card and and the back of the phone, i can see details hosted on the card (like the validity date ect...). On the Redmi nothing happen when i make contact between the card and the phone, is it a problem with NFC hardware on the phone ? What is the difference with the Mi 5 ?
I'm supposed to be able to pay my ticket and load it into the card just with NFC of the phone and the app (its working fine on Mi 5).

I dit it already but still nothing happened when i make contact between the card and the phone. It's very strange because i'm sure NFC is working as i use it every day with my Sony headset, i make contact and the headset switch on and connect to the phone via bluetooth.

I tested the connectivity with the nfc test tool from the phone developer menu : a bank credit card is detected by the phone, but not my Navigo card
I have read somewhere that this phone is equiped with NXP-SN100T NFC chip. Western european transit cards are using Calypso NFC technology.
Anyone knows if this chip is compatible with Calypso NFC cards ?? Or only compatible with Mirfare cards ?

Google Pay issue

We have 9 se phones, MIUI 11, Android 10. I install Gpay, I added my Curve card last October, I paid with NFC, it worked until February. Since then, the card has been rejected by Gpay as a paypass payment device. Customer service is diverting, not doing anything.
And now comes the curiosity: I took out my old OnePlus 3 phone, installed Gpay, added my Curve card (same card, same Google account!) And it works! But only with the OnePlus phone, even though it's rooted! Mi9se is a global (MIXM) ROM. Can MIUI stir?
Tapatalkkal küldve az én Mi 9 SE eszközömről
G-Pay is not problem with Mi 9 SE (Miui and Custom roms). I am using every day. Try: https://github.com/davidramiro/gpay-gms-patch/blob/master/README.md
Hello, I had the same problem!
It turned out I had accidentally enabled the dual app feature for Google Pay, and it seems that's what causing it to glitch.
By enabling dual app with Miui, the phone creates a "Twin" app that enables the user to work on 2 apps at once, it seems that's what cause it to glitch.
The instructions they gave me are the following:
"1.Go to the Device Settings. Scroll down and touch "Dual applications".
2. Check if the dual applications are turned off. In the same window, tap the settings button (gear icon) in the top right corner.
3. Tap Dual application accounts> Delete data from dual application accounts.
4. Restart your device and open Google Pay."
After that remember to unlink the card completely and trying to re-link the card.
I hope it helps!
The problem persists.
I'm starting to think that the phone itself or its software is the cause of the problem.
I tried multiple NFC-enabled phones with the same Google Account and the same Curve credit card.
Phones tested:
Oneplus 3, Huawei P Smart, Sony Xperia M4.
It works on all of them, only Mi9Se rejects touch payment.
The phone is intact, BL is not open, no root, MIUI: Global 11.0.4.0 (QFBMIXM)
???????????????
PLS Help!
No one?
I just can't believe that Gpay touch payment has been working on the phone for almost half a year, then from one moment to the next it no longer works and there is no explanation or solution!
As I wrote, it works on every other type of phone I can find nearby. This will also start the registration and I will get a "touch registration cannot be completed" error message.
Since it works on several other phones (including OnePlus 3, which is rooted with an open loader), I can only imagine that either the type (MI 9Se) is banned from the system or its software.
I want to use this phone for my daily work, I should with Gpay NFC!
