What is your opinion, is this a good or bad choice ?
That moment when you record with selfie camera 1080p but your display can show only 720p
Do you think there will be A3 Pro ?
In my opinion Mi A3 is a step backwards.
MI A2 has a better display and a better SOC despite the fact that it's an year older. In-display fingerprint scanner and wide lens are good additions but simply it's not enough. Having an HD+ display in 2019 in a mid-range smartphone is crazy. Snapdragon 665 is worse compared to SD 660 in terms of Gpu performance. Very disappointed by Xiaomi.
Totally dissapointed. I will keep my Mi A2 with 6/128 gb.
I'm also disappointed with the A3 specs the cc9 on which it's based gets the 710 processor and 6gb ram so why is the A3 getting less? I'm still running an A1 which I've loved for 2years was hoping this would be an easy choice.
I'm also trying out Havoc on a mi pad 4 might end up with a Chinese market phone that havoc supports......
I have an A1 and was hoping that A3 would be a no brainer for me. I guess i'll stick with it for a while now... 720p screen is a no-go.
Let's wait and see if there will be any "Pro" version of this phone.. Even A2 Lite has a full hd screen.
Mi A1 still a decent device for me. It doesn't really look like an upgrade

Best smartphone under 300 PPI
I don't really care about the capacity, S660 is still good for me, but I've expected NFC on Mi A3 for Google Pay... :crying::crying:

They put the stupid infrared port instead of a NFC sensor. It cost nothing. Also 720p display.
It is a 2012 phone for 250 euros!
What about battery life? It must be interesting. 720p amoled display + 4000mah battery + energy-saver chipset must be good for longer battery life. A cant found any battery life test, and sot time info so far...

This. I'd take one if it has good battery optimization (*cough* mi8 w/ miui 10). I'll take better battery life + super amoled over higher res screen anyday.
Unless your usage revolves around an app/site that doesn't support zooming (ie. gmail), 720 vs 1080p has no noticeable difference.

Yes its enabled, i saw one video where was checked Manual Camera Compatibilty app
Im thinking about ordering, but i need infos about battery life, but nothing was found yet
Ordered one (64GB)today on Gearvita for 237USD = 212€ with shipping to Germany. If somebody is interested, you get this price only with coupon code "ROMiA364G" wich you enter during checkout. Original price is much higher. I come from A2 and hope for much better Camera (perheps with Goggle Camera if API2 really enabled) and better battery life...
since on GSMarena Mi A3 and Mi CC9e compare almost equal, I wonder if the 128/6 GB CC9e would be able to run Mi A3 Android One and Mi A3 firmware. I also wonder if Mi A3 and Mi CC9e are A/B devices regardless of internal storage size.
@Dior DNA
Like previous generations, the MIUI counterpart (in this case, Mi CC9e) has legacy A-only partitioning scheme whereas the Android One variant has A/B one. Frankenbuilding should be possible, but complete conversion is a complicated job.
i think it's a marketing stunt - and if it's not, i feel real sorry for them. it's still a lousy move on their part.... as soon as they've pushed a first batch of converted cc9e-s (aka mi a3) they will magically release a mi a3 pro based on the standard cc9 which will be an awesome phone. it fixes everything bad in the mi a3. (screen, nfc better soc) while still keeping everything that's nice about the third gen android one. amoled, big battery.
even if they dont release it, if the cc9 gets good developer support (considering the sources are already out i hope it will) it's gonna be my next go to phone.
L.E. they only reason i see that they didnt use the cc9 is politics. with those specs it would directly compete with the pixel 3a at half the price.
Hello all,
Jason here,
Few days ago my redmi note 4 has died because of spoiled IC.
So I was wondering to get either Poco F3 or Samsung a52.
Do state the pros and cons of the selection
Usage
- Play game like brawl star, but quitting soon. as it is getting boring. After that not into gaming anymore
- Smooth display as I dont like the lagging when surfing the web or switching between apps
- Battery life must be good
- Storage must be good, as I have quite a number of apps wanting to download and test out.
- Camera should be decent ( If it is not , installing gcam should solve the problem i guess ) [Need some insight on this] ???
- Able to stand at least 3-4 years
- must support AR Core
Thank You.
Regards,
Jason
I'd suggest the POCO F3 because of the Snapdragon 870. Had the same question and I will go for the F3.
I'd suggest F3, too.
I'm not a gamer, but this phone will probably be a worthy successor of my current OnePlus One (and obviously of the Pocophone F1).
- Play game like brawl star, but quitting soon. as it is getting boring. After that not into gaming anymore (Poco f3, flagship range SoC)
- Smooth display as I dont like the lagging when surfing the web or switching between apps (Neck and neck, both have 120Hz with poco f3 having a brighter screen)
- Battery life must be good (neck and neck again, both have similiar sized batteries, but suspect the A52 would do better by 10-20%)
- Storage must be good, as I have quite a number of apps wanting to download and test out. (UFS 3.1 on Poco F3, Samsung didn't mention, so assume Poco F3 as winner)
- Camera should be decent ( If it is not , installing gcam should solve the problem i guess ) [Need some insight on this] ??? (Samsung is better, but the Poco stands near. GCAM is going to take awhile to be implemented for the Poco, as it's a pretty new SoC)
- Able to stand at least 3-4 years (no comments on this, can't guarantee build quality nowadays)
- must support AR Core (Samsung A52 confirmed support, no information on Poco yet)
check this short opinion from Dave2D
ahh okay, wish me luck to get the Poco F3 tonight, I missed out yesterday~
Stay tuned ~

Mine is just pre order though, too bad the Poco F3 dint restock
An overlooked aspect of F3 is the vibration motor. It is the more expensive motor used in Mi 10T Pro and Mi 11. Which offers great haptic feedback. Samsung use a cheaper motor in A52 and A72.
F3 is better than A52 without any question.

I'm not sure what I should get, I'm not gaming much.
Assalam AlaykomHello Everybody
I id like to ask about F3 an d how is it compared to mi10t /10tpro
I have been confused between them
Thanks in advance
Spoiler
and I wanted to know how to add a poll
POCO F3 Vs MI10T
Basically. MI10T has SD 865, Better Camera and Battery. It also has a 144hz IPS LCD Screen. Something I am not really a fan of.
While POCO F3 is powered by SD 870. an E4 120hz AMOLED.
I'd go with Poco F3. I already bought one. it's on the way. Better performance with a cheaper price.

What I advise you is to wait for redmi 11 models. It seems like they will appear soon.
Among the three I prefer f3, no doubt!
owning a poco F3, I am really happy with it cuz I've got it for less than 400 euros for the 256 version, it is very smooth and pleasant to use but if you can get a mi10t pro for the same price the last one will be a better deal. Soc is more or less the same (a tad slower), but camera will be way better, a'd you won't have proximity sensor issue which is a pain in the ass and a big drawback on this phone. I don't understand how xiaomi can sell a phone on which this basic function is not reliable. also stock rom on poco F3 is loaded with bloatware.
Hi.. I'm searching for a new phone to replace my f1.. I know the F3 is amazing and fast and everything.. I am asking is it worth buying now.. Because the new Samsung A series are more expensive and perform half as good as the F3 but they are new and will get supported until android 14.. Should I go with the old f3 in 2022 or should I wait for something newer. Like the f4 (I heard it has the same SD 870) so it's not much of a difference when the F3 is now on sale 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254.
Does anyone know if the Poco f3 will officially get the android 14 update next year.. I'm worried about the updates.. Because its already 1 year old and I don't know for how long will it still get updated
How is the phone in general.. And how's the battery life specifically?
it depends of how much you spend for it and your needs. F3 is powerful, smooth with a great display. camera is okay (with gcam), but proximity sensor is garbage and phone will unlock in your pocket when you receive a call. Also there a tons of good rom for it, like arrow os or crdroid. if you pay less than 250 euros it is a great deal. between 300 and 400 you could go for poco x4gt or f4, or realme gt neo 2 5g or gt 5g. also some snap 778 phones are great if you don't mind downgrading soc, like Samsung a52s which has great camera with ois and ingress protection, or realme gt master edition which is lightweighted, well balanced and can be found around 200 euros.
its not worth it now. better buy poco F4. non GT version. the one with SD 870 processor.
The 8/256 version was at 239 euros on amazon prime day and it was probably the best phone that you can get for that price. If the price is right, Poco F3 is the way to go
I bought the 8Gb versione on june 2022. Why the F3?? It is well developed on XDA, low price, do you need anything else?? Not for me. The F4 is similar to the F3 but it is expensive. This is why I chose the F3
F3 good at 200-240 euros. Like Amazon prime sale. Don't buy it in 2022 if the price is above 240€. There is OnePlus Nord 2 at 267€. OnePlus 9 with sd888 at 330€.samsung s21 ultra at 499. pixel 6
I've bought mine one month ago (8/256,325€ free shipping), and I don't regret nothing. The device is superb, and the custom rom support is amazing.
I've been comparing, with the other new members of poco family, and f3 beat them all on those comparisons.

I have a fresh f3 bought a month ago 200€ if anyone is interested can contact. Eu only
POCO F3 was also the one I chose. I bought it 2 weeks ago. I'm very pleased with it.
I bought the poco F3 2 weeks ago after a thorough analyze BUT this is my personal opinion based on my personal needs
My main criteria were in order of importance :
Good battery life : my previous phone was a Moto g8 power (2020) which achieved between 10-11h SoT for me. I would be comfortable with at least 7h for the new phone.
Excellent ROM support on XDA : at least one official ROM
Amoled screen
Powerfull : above 40000 pts with AnTuTu V8
Non curve screen
350 USD max (shipping included)
After cross-comparing a LOT of phone on gsmarena and XDA, I came down to the Poco f3.
Hope that helps
BTW, comparison between Poco f4 and f3 with Gsmarena shows differences only in :
Camera area
Better fast charging
Worst endurance (battery life)
It was not significant for MY purpose.
Whatever you do don't get Samsung as it's not at all developer friendly compared to Xiaomi devices.
For instance Samsung deliberately removed fastboot and replaced it with a fake empty one that doesn't even do anything.
Then they force your device to be selinux Enforcing at all times and even setenforce 0 doesn't work. To go permissive you must first hack your own kernel. What a joke...
Bought it for 229€ during Amazon prime days, I just unlocked the bootloader and installed the miui eu rom.... And I can tell you that it's a beast for my usage... This phone will probably last 4-5 years for me.

Hey Guys,
Seem here alot of F3 user so my question :
1) miui 12.5.6 global stable - worst battery life, not good & not consistent
2) miui 12.5.5 global stable - currently using now decent battery life with SOT 5 - 6 hours, some time 7 hours SOT, but overnight battery before & after sleep not consistent sometime eat 2~3% sometime 5%...
3) Saw youtuber suggested miui 12.5.3 global stable & below that number rom will be good battery life so any users using miui 12.5.3 global stable can you post/show battery life result is it true good ? Appreciate your sharing

Its late august and there isn't much dev support for the f4. Is the f3 still worth it or should we consider any other device?
if you reach the conclusion of getting a poco f3. Get mi 10t instead

next year
by the time it becomes next year, sd870 will only be good enough for candy crush
no bugs here, im pretty happy with the phone
only issue is the virtual proximity sensor, i used to cringe at first but then i got used to it
I'm pretty happy with my Poco F3. I installed a Custom ROM on it, but MIUI is also good.
The phone itself, yeah.. everything's cool. The camera is decent for me. Display awesome, 120 Hz OLED. Performance is excellent.
Battery.. depends on your OS, your apps etc, software-stuff ^^ but software-stuff can always be changed.
But MIUI isn't bad in terms of battery, it's normal.
Sound is very nice, especially with Dolby Atmos. You have 2 speakers, so stereo..
Yeah, no issues for me ^^
Also I don't think Poco F3 is "useless" next year. You will still be able to play demanding games, like Genshin Impact etc..
Only being able to play Candy Crush next year, that's a gross overstatement. The Snapdrapon 865+ can do much more than that, I'll tell you that. ^^
I play PlayStation 2 games on my phone. sm00th like butter
and if the price is right, next year. sure you can go for it. But keep Official OS-updates in mind, because Xiaomi will only provide updates for a certain period - At some point they will say: We don't provide OS-updates anymore for Poco F3, but then you can still get Updates through Custom ROMs.
Also keep other phone models in mind next year, maybe a better phone for same price next year? who knows.
Thanks for helping. I did a mistake, when I said next year I mean next month ( January *2023*)
Yup worth considering!
Altho, if I would buy a phone today, I would get a phone with a 5000 mAh battery instead of 4500 mAh, and maybe slightly slower processor, because I find myself not really using the Horse-power of Snapdragon 865+ very much... (yes I play a few games, but not much)
So I would trade bigger battery for slightly slower processor.
But that's just me. If you are a gamer, Poco F3 is excellent.
*However* Poco F3 has excellent Custom ROM-support, there are lots of very stable Android 13 Custom ROMs available.
Other phones may not have as many Custom ROMs available, it all depends on the popularity of the phone. And Poco F3 is very popular. And for best Custom ROM-support, better to get Qualcomm instead of Mediatek.

Somewhere next year Poco F3 will get the last android update and after that about a year of security patches (every 3 months). Personal I wouldn't pick it if you plan to use stock ROM and value updates unless custom ROM is an option.
Custom ROM wise in my opinion it's a very good choice. LineageOS has at the time 3 maintainers for this device (as the only Xiaomi device). I expect the support to last at least a little. IMHO its really difficult to brick the device if you follow the installation manual to the letter.
Compared to Poco X3 pro I really enjoy the AMOLED that keeps the screen very readable in sunlight. I also like the colours and the dark mode but that's subjective.
From my experience Poco F3 tends to last on battery similarly to Poco X3 pro (which has 5.1 k mAh battery) in daily usage, possibly thanks to the amoled screen. Standby will be longer on the poco x3 pro though.
Performance wise its definitely a much better choice compared to pixel 6a that has tensor which is just much less energy efficient and has unstable performance during games.

Poco F3 will be updating for a few more months by Xiaomi and I'll try to aggregate my best guess on it.
As far I remember from some Xiaomi's statement the Poco F3 will receive two full Android upgrades and four main MIUI also. Then Android 11 => 12 and 13 & MIUI 12 => 12.5, 13, 14 and 15.
If I'm right the F3 will be part of .DEV flavour until Q2/Q3 2023 (2 years) and then will receive the last MIUI 15 Stable build based on Android 13 with some occasional security updates by Xiaomi. Probably every 3 months.
wait for the poco F-27z seriously
870 888 8G1 8G1+ 8G2
870 is like 5 generation old now
if it were up to me i would get the 8G2, or atleast an 8G1 or the latest generation 7xxG if im on a budget

Pixels have good camera, but the rest of the specs are mediocre for their price.
I hardbricked my Poco F3 once, but got it restored. I could perhaps help you get your hardbricked Xiaomi back to life, if you still have it.
About good battery & performance... I would pick something from Xiaomi again maybe, because they offer good hardware at cheap price (I don't like the brand but the hardware is good.)
I would probably pick some Redmi or Poco phone, but with 5000 mAh, and Snapdragon-processor. ^^
But.. Poco F3 *is* good, I can tell you that. I'm happy and I will keep my F3 for some years.
If my battery dies at some point, I can easily replace it, because I took my phone apart once already

Hi,
I love my F3, phone has been solid as a rock, yes the Proximity sensor was a bit tricky in the early days, I do miss wireless charging and a SD Card slot like my old LG G7 but you can't compare a Flagship to a mid/budget phone.
I got a great deal here in the UK, £50 off + 2 years Warranty, I`m not a fan of MIUI because i use a Samsung smartwatch as a trusted device but Miui only support xiaomi devices.

870 888 8G1 8G1+ 8G2
870 is like 5 generation old now
if it were up to me i would get the 8G2, or atleast an 8G1 or the latest generation 7xxG if im on a budget

I'd dare to suggest to get at least 8G1+ or 8G2 as 888 and 8G1 are less energy efficient than the 870. They're only better in benchmarks testing temporary peak performance and they use much more energy for it.
In terms of energy efficiency:
8G1 < 888 < 870 < 8G1+ < 8G2

Ok thanks!
I have the Poco F3 for almost a year now. I'm also very happy with it. As john64 said:

I also feel the same. The lack of a true Proximity sensor is weird at best, but given the other benefits the F3 brings to the table (price, reliability, strong dev community, fast cpu/gpu), it's an acceptable trade-off.
All in all, it's a great phone, still worth its value.
