Recovery backup vendor partition

Cosmicdan has been recommending to use TWRP with his kernel. What I want to know is if TWRP backs up the vendor partition. The last time I did a cwm backup and then restored after some issues, i ended up losing a lot of apps because the vendor partition is not backed up by cwm. I was using 5.0.2.7.
So no one knows if TWRP backup does the vendor partition?

[Q] Nandroi Backup - Note 2 GT-N7105

I have a Note 2 GT-N7105 with Link2SD installed. Link2SD works fine installing most of my apps to the ext4 partition. I also have PhilZ Touch recovery.
When I do a Nandroid backup I find that the ext4 partition (where Link2SD installs most of my apps) is not backed up. So when I do a Recovery from a Nandroid backup of an earlier date the end result is screwed.
So how do I do a Nandroid backup that will include my ext4 partition? I always use Custom Backup (within PhilZ Touch) but it does not backup the ext4 partition.

Restoring with TWRP help

How would you restore the internal storage from a twrp backup? Basically, I was on teamspr and was going to try out Renegade and read to be on PB6 firmware. Before flashing pb6 I made a twrp backup so i could restore personal data/app data. I restored the data partition but couldnt find my old files in my download folder so restored system partition and then it was back to teamspr but still no download files so before i create more work for myself which partition is it.

TWRP restore

Hello,
I made a backup through TWRP to my lollipop rom.
Now Im trying to restore it and i get an error message - "no partitions to restore"
Any help please?
How did you make the backup? What did you check when creating it?
I made the backup through the twrp. i checked all the boxes (system,efs... )
Okay... Did you save it to internal storage, or sdcard? Also did you wipe your phone at all since the backup was made or before trying to restore?
On some TWRP builds, the restore option is not working properly. Do a full wipe and try restoring, if it does't work, you will need a clean install. Make backup of your data before this.
Also you can try updating the recovery image.
i saved it to internal storage then copied to external sd. after i installed other zip rom. when itreid to restore the twrp backup recognized by twrp but doesnt let me to check the boxes (system, efs...) as i wrote

Click to collapse
Maybe the backup is corrupted somehow...

Re-flashing without encryption

Just wondering if I can restore a TWRP data partition from an encrypted install to a fresh install - this time choosing not to use encryption in the ROM installer - or if restoring the data backup will revert the partition to encrypted.
If this doesn't work, is there a simple method of restoring the encrypted backup after formatting data, into an unencrypted partition? I'd be using TiBa to selectively restore if nothing else.
This is merely guessing but I would think it would work as you're looking for, format data to be unencrypted and restore the backup. Unless you're using a fully stock or other ROM that enforces encryption, of course.
As I said, just guessing, though.
Not sure, but I think this might be what you're looking for:

Yes, that will work and I know of many who have done it from the Viper10 ROM thread.
Backup data in twrp, format data, restore your data backup
