Hello dear XDA moderators and admins. First of all thank you for making this great XDA forum available to us.
I have a little question for you guys.
I know there is a Sony cross device development subforum here at XDA which is a wonderful resource for Sony users.
But is there also one for Xiaomi devices?
Considering the fact that Xiaomi releases somewhere around 80 new devices each month, it's easy for valuable information to get lost in all the various little individual Xiaomi subforums. Information that could also be useful to other Xiaomi users that might happen to have a slightly different Xiaomi device and therefore tend to hang out in a different Xiaomi subforum.
Wouldn't such a Xiaomi cross device development subforum be a great place for all Xiaomi users and developers to be able to communicate with each other and answer questions related to ROM development and other questions regaring Xiaomi devices?
Could you please create such a Xiaomi cross device development subforum? Thank you so much!

lol @ that thread. It's like 1,2k pages long
Anyways. I think I found the perfect Xiaomi subforum for my needs that spans across multiple Xiaomi devices it seems. This new forum software is a little bit more difficult to navigate than the previous one...
MIUI Central
MIUI Central on XDA is the best place to discuss Xiaomi's user interface, MIUI. Covering 81 languages in more than 200 regions, MIUI has over 300 million monthly active users. Its latest release, MIUI 12, is focused on privacy enhancement and a smooth user experience. MIUI 12 will be available...

I am hoping we can start an XDA forum for the new LG Google TVs just released which have respectable hardware and android. It is rumored to soon get android 4.2.2 so these new devices might present a new and fun development platform. Right now I'm having trouble finding others out there who are interested in discussing issues with these devices while I continue to imagine lots of fun development projects.
At the very least it will provide a central forum for troubleshooting issues and workarounds with these TVs but I imagine with a little work we can start developing ROMs and such.
Anyone else out there interested? What are the requirements for starting a new device forum?
plz post here

although innovative its not necessary it will get a respective forum...it depends upon several factors which u will find in the request thread...

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this, but I, quite frankly, didn't know where else to post this: I noticed that there is no entry for the Mediapad M2 here on XDA yet in the devices-section. Will it receive a section of its own or will it just kind of be rolled into one of the existing ones, like e.g. the Mediapad X2 is very similar H/W-wise? Yes, I realize it is a rather new device and it's not from one of the most popular manufacturers and all that, and no, I am not familiar with the process of how new devices are added here.
The ideal place for this request is in the following thread - *** New Device Forum Requests ***. Being posted in that thread helps keep all such requests in one place and helps the admins to see which devices are being requested on a regular basis.
With Huawei not being one of the bigger manufacturers, I presume the decision on whether it gets a forum here will be more dependant on how popular the device may be and how much developer support will come along.
Even if it doesn't end up getting its own forum though, it may be a good idea to keep searching in the Android General forum. That'll be a good place to check because a user of the Mediapad M2 will likely end up creating a thread in that section which will include all sorts of information for that device, so that it's all contained in one place.

Alright, I appreciate the reply and shall make a request for it in the right place, then.
To all forum readers and lurkers, welcome to a new and experimental section of the forums! The PC Hardware forums are part of our expansion into a limited discussion of PC hardware for our enthusiasts and developers. So while the normal forum rules apply you may notice that things here will be slightly different and a work in progress.
Here's what you can expect in each of the forums within here:
PC Hardware Portal Article Discussion is where the portal team will be posting a new thread for each article on the category. While Disqus isn't a bad option it's also a very limited one in comparison to our forum membership - and so we'd like to try moving some of that discussion here. It also gives us the ability to give some behind-the-scenes updates and additional content that may not fit the Portal well, such as build logs and photos of projects we're working on for Portal articles.
Forum members are more than welcome to continue the discussion but new threads will only be created by us here. If you want to carry on a discussion of a different topic, we have you covered.
The PC Hardware For Linux Developers section is ideally for continuing the discussion and talking about topics near and dear to our developers' hearts. Whether you're just starting out and want to know how to build your own kernel/ROM, set up a kitchen to theme, or something more advanced... if it's about Linux this is the place to talk about it!
While the name doesn't call it out specifically it's well known that a subset of developers use Mac OS X instead - feel free to post in here too on your topics. To help clarify we ask that the prefix [OSX] be used so readers know this deals with a Mac-specific topic.
Lastly our PC Hardware General is for all other discussions under the sun and related to the topic. We're not looking to replace your go-to sites but rather foster a conversation in addition to that. And while we certainly understand that these discussions can get "heated" we ask that people treat each other with the same civility and respect as you would anywhere else on the XDA forums.
Your moderation team can be found in the upper right hand corner under "Moderators." Please feel free to contact us if there are any questions/concerns. In addition you will likely find me around here quite often - part of my job as PC Hardware Editor is to help foster those discussions. And we'll be watching to see how this develops - if we need to split this up further you may see additional forums being added or moved here to better keep the related discussions together!
Thank you for your continued time and support of XDA!
Despite multiple requests for the device Redmi Note 11 4G(codename: spes) in new devices request thread, the admins doesn't seem to add a forum for the same.
Redmi note 11 4G is the highest sold Remi note 11 series phone till now! Still, I don't really understand why admins not creating a forum for the same!
Are the admins deliberately avoiding forum creation as per Xiaomi's input given the device is full of bugs and forums can cut down sales.

Admins don't take one single input viz. sales for deciding about forum creation. Multiple inputs are needed and the most critical of them is development. And threads/posts about the device. I hardly see a couple of threads in the last more than a year on XDA. Doesn't make sense to create a forum for a device which has almost nil threads/posts.
However, if I am wrong (search being what it is on XDA) and there is much more than what I could see, please gather the links to the threads about this device and post them on the New Devices Requests thread with a request. I am sure the Admins will take a re-look.

I will give an input on this.
Development for Redmi Note 11 (spes/spesn) has already started.

There are so many scattered development, the only thing holding everything back is the lack of an XDA Forum.

Please open a forum, I highly request it!
I am not sure that this is sufficient but I don't get to decide on this.
Pinging @MikeChannon and @the_scotsman
Actually there might be more development, but this is something I found from a quick Google search. Obviously the lack of a forum makes everything very scattered and hard to come by. The creation of a forum will definitely boost development. Although the final decision is up to the admins, I do hope this request is considered.
