Not fixed.
Set the "Touch screen test" test to Line Mode 100%.
Touch the screen quickly with three or better four fingers. Also try not together, but in succession. Fast 1,2,3,4 .... 1,2,3,4 (As if you were playing notes on the piano. )
Only dots for touches should be drawn, and there are lines. So the system misinterprets touches as swiping your finger across the screen.

This is a garbage digitizer. Software won't fix it or Samsung won't bother fixing it since they moved on to s21 phones. We'll just have to get used to this or upgrade to a different phone.
For me all works. I only have dots. S20 FE 5G from September 2020

Hi all,
Did anyone notice the blue tint/colour shift on screen when tilting Galaxy S9, even slightly? It is very prominent and appears on the edges when viewing from front, especially on white screens. Exactly the same kind of issue which I heard about Pixel 2 XL.
I tried to adjust as many settings as I can, but no luck. Even the bootloader screen with SAMSUNG logo and PIN verification screen behaves the same, which means it's not a software issue. Also, I took my phone to service centre, but they say all Galaxy S9s behave the same.
Is this issue with every Galaxy S9? If yes, this is not at all the best screen, even my Nexus 5X's screen performed much better. Trying to attach pictures to try to show you the exact issue.
Edit:
Model number: SM-G960F
Bought in India
Manufactured in India
Thank you
All I can say is not with my US model made in China.
Just looks like the shadow from the curved edge of the screen
Everytime I see videos about the Note 10+ under screen fingerprint sensor, usually YouTube. They quickly go to the sensor, just briefly touch it and their phone unlocks. I have to press screen firmly, hold it there for about 1/2 or a full second, then it unlocks. What am I doing wrong
I see there same results
Hard to say, mine works super fast, but in fact I do not use any type of unlocking security! I never leave my phone unattended, and I have no sensitive content stored in it, so…
Mine works great even with Whitestone screen protector. What I do when registering, I use left thumb, then right. I do this until 1st print is registered and continue the same for 2and 3rd and 4th

I find it to be pretty poor compared to normal fingerprint sensors but does the job for the most part. It was definitely better before I installed a Whitestone screen protector, comparable to the optical unit on the ROG Phone 2.
I find a quick tap does sometimes work but most often I get a message to say press harder or something similar.
Coming from OnePlus 7 Pro..this FP sensor is just horrible...I can't even get it to unlock 50% of time
2 things: you can change the screen sensitivity and that may help register with less pressure or time spent pressing. Also, I would remove the troublesome registered print and register again. Make sure you aren't pressing super hard during registration, and get every angle and position of that finger possible.
Doing this, I've had no issues with using the reader.

I still struggle sometimes with the fingerprint sensor not being always dependable 'at will'. It's a great phone, but this problem is very frustrating to me, too much of a contrast to this phone's all other qualities.
Now in the Winter the problem gets worse, dry air=dry skin, at home I can use some hand moisturizer(it helps), but I don't think that's what the sensor designers hoped for to improve sensor's reliability.
I'm on it since S10 which I returned for the very same reason shortly after purchasing it about a year ago and replaced it with S10e, a phone that was perfect and free from my frustrations. Yet I swapped the S10e for N10+ just to have a bigger screen for reading my ebooks on it. Somehow I convinced myself that the sensor will have totally new hardware. Well, they did improve the software, the sensor in N10 is the same, more accurate in my opinion though, but it still lags behind expectations for a flagship, or rather, as I call it referring to its price: a battleship.
So, my new resolve now is to aim for S11(it all depends on Samsung's generosity with the N10 swap), not much”leaks” around about the S11 specs but I think they have a brand new and bigger, ultrasonic sensor in the works.

I removed my existing fingerprint registrations and did it as you suggested, 4 times slowly without to much pressure.
Now my fingerprint function is working flawlessly without any issues.
What I mean by that, is touchscreen reacting to a finger about 0.5-1mm before you press it, which causes all kinds of problems like keyboard misclicks.
My previous/current phone (Realme) also exhibits the same behavior, which was one of the reasons I wanted change it, but with POCO F3 it's actually a bit worse.
Is there any hope for Xiaomi fixing it in future patches (reading old posts it seems F1 had a similar problem fixed with updates) or could it be fixed with custom ROM/kernel/some build.prop tweak? My plan with F3 was to switch to custom ROM sooner than later anyway, because MIUI is honestly quite dreadful.
Or should I just return it and look elsewhere? But it seems these days overly sensitive touchscreen behavior is becoming a new normal sadly. I think Samsung had a dedicated "glove mode", while having sensitivity in a regular mode being... well, regular. Though I haven't tried any of their latest devices (i.e. S20 FE apparently has all kind of touch issues).
a way to compensate for this is to put on the phone a THICC protective glass. beacause using this tipe of protecion is becoming more and more common manifacturers are probably increasing the touchscreen sensitivity

Yeah, I tried that. It actually works throughout a stack of 5 (!) glasses on top of a stock plastic screen protector. So at least 1.5 mm. Probably even more, it definitely works throughout a thick stack of papers.
Don't see how that is acceptable.

I have a new S22 and my experience is so frustrating. I am coming back to Samsung after a few generations from Huawei (mate 20 pro and P30 Pro). What I can't digest is the fingerprint and face id works so flawlessly on Huawei which is a relatively newcomer to Samsung and they have done it so perfectly. (on Mate 20 Pro it used a 3D scan and on P30 Pro 2D scan). Samsung with all its generations with many decades of experience still struggles.
The fingerprint is too slow and sometimes after a few tries. Face ID takes a while to open the screen. And what's more - when I enable fingerprint - for some reason the face ID just becomes lazy, I don't see it even attempting to detect the face (from the rim light effect on the front camera). It looks as though the fingerprint has superseded the face id. I am getting more and more frustrated by this. I did try scanning both fingerprint and face id several times. But no luck. I even suspected probably there is a way to prioritize the usage of biometrics and looked for it but there is none.
In contrast on my Huawei - it just takes a fraction of a second to unlock as though it is not scanning the id (both face and fingerprint) but actually it does the job so quickly. What is happening here - is this how Samsung had been all these years? I can't believe if they claim to say they've improved from previous generations. Why is the face id so slow and most times (well-lit environment as well - the face id is not at work at all (no rim light around the front camera, as though the id is not at work)
Is this the same experience others have and is normal for Samsung? Do you all think it is a one-off case and a reset might fix it? Please advice
I don't use face id so can't help with that, but are you using a screen protector?
I had a Spigen glass screen protector, the glass was amazing but the fingerprint didn't work 80% of the time, especially with dry fingers.
I switched to a film protector, re-did the fingerprints and now it's perfect, very easy to unlock.
I purchased a new Galaxy S21 FE a few weeks ago, and I noticed that while the screen is responsive 90-95% of the time, every so often it won’t respond to a tap or swipe, necessitating an extra prod (or a few). Whether it's not pulling down the notification ceiling when swiping, or missing a key (or space bar) when typing despite tapping it, among others.
To reiterate, it’s not a problem with the screen itself because it mostly works fine, but every so often the software interacting with the display that responds to touches seems to glitch. And it’s not connected to any specific part of the screen either. And the phone in general is fast, and there's no lag in animations so it's not a refresh rate issue either.
I should note that a few months ago I returned a new Galaxy A53 with a similar issue. And a relative of mine with the Galaxy A32 5G said she has the same problem as well.
Does anyone else experience this with the S21 FE or any other recent Samsung phones? My 2016 Samsung phone's display/touch has none of these problems, despite being slower in general due to its age, and it being from the Samsung J series.
Anyone?
I come from an s20, and I received the s21 fe this week, and I noticed a little error, in the touch. It's like sometimes he doesn't recognize the fastest or light touch in a few times.
I admit mine does not feel very precise at times. I cannot pinpoint exactly what's going on but it's like it's slippery and I do not have a great accuracy on it. It did have a problem with the screen jumping up and down when scrolling sometimes but with the recent updates, this issue seems to be solved. However I still feel it is not precise or smooth as a S21 Ultra for example.

Please report it in the Samsung members app. With more people reporting these bugs, there's more of a chance that a patch will be released.

Yes, me. Got this phone a few weeks ago and have noticed it randomly not responding to a tap, pinch or swipe. Exact symptoms as you.
Wondered if this was a known issue with Samsungs or not and whether there was a software patch for it.
Any luck?
+1
I already wrote about it somewhere.
Often I have to double-click first or press a button, then a fingerprint will work. I can't find when this occurs. And I'm sure, this comes in December with Android 13.

Actually, in my case it seems to have gotten a little better after the Android 13 update, but it's still a problem.
I was adamant that this issue was the device itself. But funnily enough, having removed the glass screen protector, the problem has disappeared.
It must've been that layer interfering with touch recognition.

In my case removing the protector doesn't help.
I don't use a screen protector on my phone.
I am having the same issue anyone got any fix?
