Hello,
so I have troubles connecting media to my car ( by that I mean I always manually have to connect it from car, even thought phone connects well, no problem making calls, just can't stream audio )
What I noticed is that when I connect media, it picks SBC codec, but when it's not connected it just stays on system default.
So, is there a way to force SBC codec to be default one ?
( it's not the car system fault, as my old Mi A2 on stock android had no problem whatsoever connecting to it with media every single time)

A2DP Blueooth Car Stereo won't reconnect to mobile
I have the Pioneer DEH-P9800BT Bluetooth Head Unit in my car, which supports stereo BT music streaming from any A2DP device.
I also have the HTC TyTN II Mobile which supports the same.
I have paired the two devices, and on the initial pairing successfully played music from the HTC through the Pioneer. When that worked, the BT Audio icon appears in the title bar of the mobile (headphones with a musical note in the middle).
However, after switching off the car and later returning, I have 2 issues:
1) It is impossible to reconnect the BT stereo music playback, unless I delete the Pioneer device from the list of BT devices within the mobile phone, then pair them again. Nothing else seems to work. Simply, I just want all music to be routed through the Pioneer whenever it is in range of the mobile.
2) I have set the mobile phone as "Phone 1" in the Pioneer, and have enabled "Auto Connect", yet it does not auto connect. Every time I get in the car I have to manually scroll to Telephone>Function>Connect Phone>Phone 1. You can imagine what a laborious pain that is compared to my previous 5 year old Nokia Bluetooth Car Kit which just auto-connects whenever my mobile is in range.
Are you able to solve either problem?
Im having the same problems with my sony DR-BT10CX and Moto HT820 whenever i turned either devices off. But whenever i turned them back on, i usually uncheck and recheck the headset whenever i want to use A2DP. It's a pain but i never had to re-pair my device with my tilt.
Try unchecking/checking the bluetooth device instead of re-pairing them (although in your case, its a PITA).
Have you tried updating the firmware on the Pioneer (if its possible anyways).
I have an ATT Tilt w/ the my customized HTC rom. But my JVC BT1 never has any problem to reconnect to my phone.
1) I found a program called A2DPToggle which provides an on/off button on the home page to solve this
2) I found I have to leave the phone in 'visible' Bluetooth mode for auto-connect to work. Less secure, but solves the problem
While this may not help, while messing with my Audio linking between my pda and pc , The PC BT adaptor would freeze if I tried to stream an AAC file or a non mp3 file. It would play it for 10-15 seconds then freeze. I imagine not all mp3
s are created equal for BT purposes either.
I have multiple Bluetooth connection issues with this new phone out of the box. When connected to my car stereo the sound stutters or skips at random times. On my headset, it will much less often pause the track, then I have to play it again. I've tried the following general troubleshooting:
Clearing spotify cache
Changing the Bluetooth developer settings (They don't stick)
Reinstalling app
Rebooting device
Playing in airplane mode with bt on
Updating system to most recent update as of 7/18
Keeping screen on
Resetting stereo
Unpair and repair connection
Excluding Spotify AND Bluetooth services from battery saving
Disabling Xperia sound enhancements
Disabling Xperia intelligent engine
I'm honestly out of ideas at this point and the problem is extremely persistent. I never get lucky and go more than 5 minutes without the audio briefly cutting out. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a fix?
Try playing around with the Bluetooth settings in developer options, and see if the AVRCP version or a different codec helps.
Hi,
I have Bluetooth trouble with a Big Jambox too. Multimedia (sound) is not streaming and strangely I can receive and send calls over the box ??!!
Playing with codec, wipe Bluetooth cache, unpair / pair the device,... nothing did the trick.
This a long-standing issue, since the Android Oreo pre build witch is not resolved in the 8.0 version (I could read this on the web).
For some people, the 8.1 version resolve the problem. I'm waiting for a update and hope.
Tried connecting the phone to my car stereo (cheap third party unit). It paired okay, everything looked like it was working. But I wasn't getting an audio. The headunit displayed the song title, and I could pause or skip to the next track just fine. Media volume on the phone is up, and I assume there is no second bluetooth volume slider I'm missing. I can use the mic on the headunit and it gets send to the phone just fine. Haven't tried one of my headphones to see if they work.
Anyone have any issue with bluetooth or maybe there's a setting I'm missing?
E: Should add I'm on the xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 Beta.
Tried a couple of headsets and they work fine. Guess it's just my cheap radio doesn't like my phone or vice versa.
Same thing here. Changing Bluetooth codec from aac to sbc in developer options fixes it but only temporary. Changing codecs doesn't stick. What a bummer.
This only happens when I'm paired and listening to media audio (like youtube or Spotify) on my BMW f10 2012's Bluetooth connection. While listening to the audio I get a super high-pitched sound for about half a second and then the Bluetooth on my Pixel 6 pro crashes and starts up again. After a minute I can reconnect with my car and continue listening to audio. It can happen once or several times during a driving session. No indication as to what causes it.
Speaking of Bluetooth anomalies I also sometimes get into a situation where my car's "next/previous track" doesn't seem to pass the message to the Pixel to change the track. It chooses when to work. I never had an issue with my previous Samsung Note 9 or S8 phone and my partner has a OnePlus 8 Pro and has no issues. It's definitely Pixel-related. I have no problems with the Bluetooth on the Pixel with any other device (headphones, Windows PC, smart speakers etc)
Try lowering the AVRCP version: head to developer settings and search for AVRCP Version. Default is 1.5, try 1.3 or 1.4 and see if it works. Older headunits may need older versions.
I'm on miui 13 and I have annoying issues, the device's bluetooth which unable to auto connect with car's head unit. The only way out is to unpair then pair them again. That being said, if bluetooth turned off, it can auto connect as long as car's engine still on. That did not happen to miui 12.5 which rapidly auto-connect. Anybody has any idea how to fix this?
BMW NBT?
I also have this problem. With iphone works properly.
I managed to get it fixed by putting the car audio in bluetooth connection mode, go to bluetooth app then toggle allow fullscreen app. In connect state it will disconnect then reconnect. In our case, it'll force connect to nearby previously connected device. That leaves another issue, which is media info won't update. So we kinda stuck with first song info or podcast title, then it won't refresh. Probably due to xiaomi policy to limit data transfer or simply unresolved bug. Luckily I have Samsung device which I use most of the time in this regard.
