A2DP Blueooth Car Stereo won't reconnect to mobile - General Accessories

A2DP Blueooth Car Stereo won't reconnect to mobile
I have the Pioneer DEH-P9800BT Bluetooth Head Unit in my car, which supports stereo BT music streaming from any A2DP device.
I also have the HTC TyTN II Mobile which supports the same.
I have paired the two devices, and on the initial pairing successfully played music from the HTC through the Pioneer. When that worked, the BT Audio icon appears in the title bar of the mobile (headphones with a musical note in the middle).
However, after switching off the car and later returning, I have 2 issues:
1) It is impossible to reconnect the BT stereo music playback, unless I delete the Pioneer device from the list of BT devices within the mobile phone, then pair them again. Nothing else seems to work. Simply, I just want all music to be routed through the Pioneer whenever it is in range of the mobile.
2) I have set the mobile phone as "Phone 1" in the Pioneer, and have enabled "Auto Connect", yet it does not auto connect. Every time I get in the car I have to manually scroll to Telephone>Function>Connect Phone>Phone 1. You can imagine what a laborious pain that is compared to my previous 5 year old Nokia Bluetooth Car Kit which just auto-connects whenever my mobile is in range.
Are you able to solve either problem?

Im having the same problems with my sony DR-BT10CX and Moto HT820 whenever i turned either devices off. But whenever i turned them back on, i usually uncheck and recheck the headset whenever i want to use A2DP. It's a pain but i never had to re-pair my device with my tilt.
Try unchecking/checking the bluetooth device instead of re-pairing them (although in your case, its a PITA).
Have you tried updating the firmware on the Pioneer (if its possible anyways).

I have an ATT Tilt w/ the my customized HTC rom. But my JVC BT1 never has any problem to reconnect to my phone.

1) I found a program called A2DPToggle which provides an on/off button on the home page to solve this
2) I found I have to leave the phone in 'visible' Bluetooth mode for auto-connect to work. Less secure, but solves the problem

While this may not help, while messing with my Audio linking between my pda and pc , The PC BT adaptor would freeze if I tried to stream an AAC file or a non mp3 file. It would play it for 10-15 seconds then freeze. I imagine not all mp3
s are created equal for BT purposes either.

Motorola HT820 bluetooth stereo headset problems.

I've recently acquired one of these headsets and have managed 2 pair it with my O2 XDA II mini. However, i am unable to stream music to the headset but am able to answer calls and make them too. Does anyone know how i could stream music from my phone to my headset?
if you check in the forum for your pda, i believe you will find you have to upgrade your bluetooth software?
then you will find new menu's in the bluetooth settings including audio/audio streaming.
have the headphones, and am very pleased
already have da software
Hey, i already have the software but the thing is nothing appears in the box labelled "default headset" even after i have paired the device with my XDA. And whenever i try 2 stream music, it initially says connecting but eventually the connection fails and the music does not stream to my headset. Does anyone know how i can get the headset to appear in the default headset drop down box?
when you paired the h/set & phone, what choices did you get?
When I turn my headphones on, my handsfree part pairs but my stereo part won't pair automatically, usually. I just connect it manually, but sometimes it won't just connect so I have to disconnect the handsfree part before I connect the stereo part then reconnect the handsfree part. Occassionally, I have to repeat more than once.
Pair it to the device you want stereo from, start the default "Headset" system for normal talking, press the left multifunction to terminate the connection to the "headset" profile, then press the right multifunction button to trigger the "stereo headset" profile to start.
Or, try to force it after pairing and then press the rightmultifunction to accept the connection and have the device bind that call to that function, enabling and disabling the stereo data.
I had to do the first part with my new HP iPAQ hx2495 to get the stereo headset profile going when i installed the headset as both stereo and regular.
I finally got my HT820 working
I have a T-mobile US MDA.
I first upgraded to ROM 2.24 which supports A2DP, which is what the headset uses for sound other than the phone. (When you flash your ROM it intalls all new boot up software so it changes your hard-reset process, and you lose your support.) Then I paired. You should see the services the headset offers, handsfree and stereo. There's also a menu available when you hold-slelect the name of the BT device in the device list that's handy.
I did discover that it is a headset problem if the sound skips out irratically averaging about 20 seconds. There was a bad batch sent out to/from Hong Kong. Motorola is replacing mine, but I had to pay to ship it to them.
Hope this helps!
I don't want to hijack your thread but I don't know where else to turn. I have requested help elswhere on this forum for my problem but I can't seem to get any help.
I have a ht820 and a cingular 8125. I've been able to pair the headset with my phone but, when I try to play a mp3, the voice speed dial comes up, the mp3 plays for about 3 seconds, then the mp3 audio reverts back to the phone.
Do I have to flash to a different rom, do I have to tweak registry settings? I don't really have a clue what I should do. Please help.
Porter
Edit: I've solved my problem. See this thread for my fix.

Thanks
Actually what it sounds like is the phone is only connecting to the headset for that time under the premise of a voice dial with the headset profile. I think you're lucky enough that you can get it to play for those 3 seconds. I have a Sony Ericcson w810i and I can't even get any audio from it to the headset at all without using the w810i's 3.5mm adapter to the patch cable on the headphones which just looks weird. But you might want to do a search for your model phone like this, "Cingular 8125 Motorola HT820" and see what kinda results you get.

Mediaplayer and bluetooth wireless stereo

I have a Jabra BT620s bluetooth wireless stereo headset which I use as an headset and my music headset on the touch hd. I paired them succesfully and playing music with mediaplayer works perfectly.
The problem is when I turn on my Jabra headset. It pairs with my phone fine, but it isnt set as wireless stereo on start. So I have to set it in the bluetooth configuration screen everytime I turn the headset on, cause else the music plays over the speaker of the phone.
Is there anyway to let windows mobile always be forced to set the headset as wireless stereo?
Same problem with Funkwerk EGO Talk
I've have got the same problem with Funkwerk EGO Talk Bluetooth carkit with A2DP. Pairs at the start with Headset Profile, so calling works(except the hangup button btw, ?which redails?? most of the time). But it doesn't start the wireless stereo profile.
I have to "Set as wireless Stereo" everytime i reconnect with the carkit
Anyone has a solution or workaround to start "Set as Wireless Stereo" automaticly or at least in 1 button?
Guys, using the search function would have turned up the following solutions found previously on these forums:
a) use Mortscript to macro the key presses
b) firmware update the headset (i.e. Jabra)
c) try turning on music and bluetooth before the headset - worked for some people
I have the same problem as you, any other suggestions?
I've the same problem with Moto music/blutooth headset
Hmmm
I don't have this problem with my Sony-E HBH BT set. Each time I turn it on the pairing is automatic and get stereo immediately.
I also can have the pocket player or TF3D media player running or not and it will change "on the fly" to BT when I turn on the headset.
No problem here with Motorola S805's.
I turn the phone BT on, turn the headphones on, press play on the headphones and get music.
I have the same problem with my motorola S705
Auto pairing with calls is ok but not with stereo A2DP. I must turn headset on manually in the bluetooth otpions which is quite long and annoying.
Pairing was working good with my TyTN. So there might be a problem somewhere
I've had some problems with my Samsung SBH170 not connecting at all.
I removed them from the BT settings and repaired, now they are found with out problems, allthough not very quickly.
In 'Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3' I came across 'Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service' which was disabeled, I enabled it and rebooted, but it doesn't seem to make any difference on my machine. According to this thread it may be required to enable audio over bluetooth: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424424

A2DP - Automatic Stereo Audio

I have searched around XDA and haven't found a solution to this yet.
I have a wireless transmitter to play music in my car. When I turn bluetooth on it automatically turns on 'Hands-Free' but doesn't turn on 'Stereo Audio'.
Previously on my Kaiser (with a different car kit) turning on the transmitter set it up automatically.
I have tried AutoA2DP (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530932) but I'm not sure it worked - it certainly hasn't achieved the effect I want (although it does seem to open Media Player when I connect now).
Anyone found a solution on the TP2?
Cheers,
I did have take a quick look at my TP2, because I had no problem with the connection. My car radio (Sony Xplod) gives 2 icons... 1 from the hands-free and the other of my Audio. I've looked in my settings for you, and found one option what must be checked. It's something like: Make a seperate connection for handfree and audio! (I'm guissing to that sentence becuase I have a dutch ROM!)
Hope it helped you!
greetz
EDIT:
Just did take a closer look into my car, and now it also didn't take the extra connection with my sterio audio. This is the solution:
Go to Com Manager
Press Setting
Press Bluetooth
Take the second tab
And tap than Sterio Audio
Now He's saying he's trying to make a connection e voila! Now it's playing music true your car audio!
(This is the way with TF3D2!'

Yes - I've been doing this every time I get in my car - I just wish there was a way of doing it automatically (and then preventing the message 'You can't control audio via this headset' or similar).
Cheers,
Jim.
Hi,
Same problem in my car. Same car radio working with two (Sony Ericsson) phones I used before. They always connected immediately (both 'Hands-Free' + 'Stereo Audio). Strange that the TP2 is not comfortable with this simple task. Indeed, I think the option "Connect separately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" should be unchecked but despite this option, the TP2 is still waiting for the appropriate tap. Going to BT settings and tapping 'Stereo Audio' each and every time is frustrating and uncomfortable.
Added subscription to this topic.
I'm a bit frustrated too with the AD2P auto connect problem.
I have a Sony MEX-BT3700U Car radio.
When I sit in my car, the handsfree function connects automatically with no hassle.
But not the Stereo Audio (A2DP) function. I connect it via the Bluetooth settings. After that it works great.
The problem is I'm always focused to activate AD2P manually first before I drive and forget that I have yet to start the car. So I have to start over. Going to settings > Bluetooth Settings etc. etc. ANNOYING!
So. I tried A2DP Toggle in combination with A2DP Auto Connect. Doesn't work.
Went searching for hours... But nothing. Think it has todo with the different BT Stack compared to other HTC's.
Still hoping for a solution.
@Ramsfan_Jim: which wireless transmitter are you using? I'm thinking of buying one to use w/my TP2. My factory head unit (VW Monsoon) doesn't support bluetooth.

I originally used a Venturi Mini - which had the advantage that it automatically set up handsfree & audio transmission as soon as I turned it on, but unfortunately it broke (repeatedly) with regular use.
I now use this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-MP3-FM-Transmitter-Bluetooth-Handfree-w-2-Remotes_W0QQitemZ250445424484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3a4fb5e764&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A6%7C72%3A1683%7C293%3A7%7C294%3A25 which is much sturdier - and seems to have a stronger signal. However, I have to change the bluetooth settings on the TP2 to enable Stereo Audio each time I connect.
Warning - this is a much bigger device, so dependent on where your cigarette lighter is in the car, it may get in the way. I had to buy an extension lead to move it so I could use the gearstick!
Newsflash.
Found out how to auto connect to my bluetooth car radio with my TP2.
I have a radio channel bar (or whatever it's called in english) from one to six. There's a "pause/play" description small above the number five. I accidentally pressed it and it suddenly connected my phone through AD2P.
So just press play and it gets connected. So no software needed for me.
I don't use a BT car radio but I do have a stereo BT and a regular BT headset. The stereo BT has both Handsfree and A2DP profiles. But since I use the A2DP only, in my Kaiser under BT Services I unchecked the Handsfree profile and now my stereo BT autoconnects every time.
ChriX84: thanx, very interesting information, will try it tonight in my car !
Another interesting info (might be useful in terms of a .cab file preparation...): a "BT Mono" (i.e. not Stereo Audio (A2DP)) with a very low volume signal is obtained (in my car radio at least) when pressing the "Play" button on the media player (Core or WMP) while still having Stereo Audio option switched off under the BT settings.

This worked for me too. Was bugging me to the extent where I wasn't bothering streaming audio any more!
Nice tip
I always burned new mp3 cd's or connected my mp3player/phone through a aux-cable.
Bluetooth Stereo Music is a huge step forward for me. The ease of using one device for everything. Calling, playing music without any cables. Thank god for that invention.

What exactly is a radio channel bar? Do you mean like a media widget or radio widget?
Personally this a2dp bug is a deal breaker for me. I primarily use my device for audio streaming.

Yeah where can you find this?

The bar with all the channel buttons. 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
Above or under those buttons there are little symbols with play/pause etc.

Bluetooth headset question

Has anyone else paired a headset to their slide and had media audio come through it?
I paired my old jawbone2 to my slide and when I was playing a game, game audio came through the ear piece. It only happened ONCE and now everything (except calls and the genius button) is back to the phone speaker.
Is that normal? Should audio be routed through my BT Headset like that? I was pretty certain only calls should go through to a non a2dp device.
I don't know anything about the jawbone2, but I have no problems. For regular phone use, I have a Motorola H500 and I always play Pandora in the car, and have never had music come through the H500, just voice like it should be. (I've used the H500 on the G1 I ordered on launch day, on a Motorola Droid, a Sprint EVO 4G, and the 3G Slide on a variety of stock and non-stock ROMs.) I also have a Motorola S9 A2DP headset, and the audio works as you would expect on it also on all of those devices. Maybe the Slide detects the Jawbone2 in a funky way somehow. What does it say when you go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Bluetooth Settings->Jawbone2 (press & hold then select options.) If it's not a A2DP headset, it should just say "Phone, Use for phone audio." An A2DP headset will also say "Media, use for media audio." If you are lucky, the phone is just detecting it wrong and you can uncheck the Media option.
It only did it once and then went back to acting like a normal BT headset.
I am going to chalk it up as a fluke from initial pairing.
And under options it says phone audio only which is ok.
I'm replacing it with a Jawbone Icon tomorrow which supports a2dp and a whole slew of other nifty features for a single ear headset.
Don't deal with much bluetooth headsets but i do hook it up to my car stereo and i know there are settings in the bluetooth of that specific device. have you had a chance to look in there?
Bluetooth Pairing problems
I have similar problems when pairing to my truck stereo. It auto pairs when I get into the truck and works perfectly well the first time I make a call. But after that it doesnt disconnect properly AND it will disconnect but will stay paired.
I am able to go into BT setting and have it reconnect.
Works once then bam not connected again.
I have Android version 2.3.3
Baseband 47.3201.35.06U_7.07.35.025
Kernel 2.6.32.17 -Cyanogenmod-g501281a
Mem Info
183MB /418MB
Build GRI40
Connecting to a Kenwood Receiver
DNX9140
It worked fine for my Nexus Not sure why this is happening.

Better control of auto Bluetooth connections?

My g3 is completely stock like my last few phones have been.
I am looking for better control of my Bluetooth connections that automatically connect to various objects. All 3 of my connections have call audio capabilities, and I only want to use 1 for call audio. However when I get in the car its a 50/50 gamble of what will connect to my phone as the priority device resulting in me having to go change the settings every time I drive.
Here's the situation:
My car has 3 BT connections I currently use when I drive.
Priority 1: Car OEM Bluetooth connection. No audio streaming available so all I want is automatic connection for hands free through my car speakers and steering wheel controls for phone calls.
Priority 2: Garmin GPS traffic. My GPS uses an app on my phone to get traffic reports. It only needs the BT connection to communicate with my app. The problem is My GPS has hands free call audio also, but i dont use that feature and never want to. However it seems I frequently have to go uncheck the box "use call audio" in phone BT settings because this sometimes connects to my phone before the car BT does.
Priority 3: sometimes when I am not using my iPod for music I use an adapter for streaming music since my car does not offer that feature on its BT connection. Of course this adapter also offers call audio and media streaming. When this is plugged up and listening to music I have to disconnect my cars BT (listed as priority 1) as it will cause static in my music streaming. When I use this device I shut off the connection to my car and just leave the GPS (priority 2) and this connected and make phone calls by hand without hands free since this adapter does not allow me to use my steering wheel controls etc that the car has and its just easier to do it by hand. I don't always use this adapter, only when im board of my iPod and sirius and want to stream Spotify.
I've tried "Bluetooth auto connect" application but it hasn't done anything to help control which device connects and which doesn't or which of them has priority. A lot of the times I'll get in the car and disconnect all of them and start over but usually one of the devices automatically tries to reconnect causing them to interfere with each other while I'm driving. Unfortunately none of these devices have the ability to shut off features in the devices themselves which means I have to use my phone to control them.
Is there any way of controlling my bluetooth connections in more detail or am I just stuck with them battling each other every time I get in the car? Usually I don't have a problem once they are all set but if my phone restarts or I I need to start all over. If the phone would just remember which connection uses "media audio" or "call audio" this all could be avoided but the phone never ever remembers and always resets them all as checked. My Bluetooth is usually always turned on (probably what kills my battery) and I have no other connections besides what I use in the car. I had the same problems on my Xperia Z1 and don't think this is an LG G3 specific thing. I think its an android thing in general.
Thanks for any ideas.
