T-Mobile 7T Conversion to Global Cause Dropped Text Messages - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

I bought a T-Mobile One Plus 7T HD 1907 off of Amazon. Once I got the phone, I converted to the global OTA, OnePlus7TOxygen_14.O.22_GLO_022_2101280011, I then upgraded to OxygenOS 10.0.16.HD65AA. I never actually used the phone using T-Mobile stock Oxygen OS. The phone number I use with this phone was transferred from Version to Red Pocket's GSMT network. After using the phone for a while, I noticed I was randomly dropping text messages. Someone would send their message, their phone would say it was sent, but I never received it. This happened with multiple people on multiple networks, both SMS an MMS. There does not appear to be any pattern in the messages I miss. I could be in the middle of a text conversation, and the message would just get dropped.
I tried resetting various network settings, changing APN settings, and changed messaging apps to Oxygen OS’s default one, but I still randomly drop text messages. Phone calls appears to be unaffected. I ported my number to Red Pockets GSMA network and the problems still occurs. I noticed the 4G LTE was kind of weak in my area, so I switched my phone to use 3G, which has good signal, but the problem still occurs.
Is there any reason to think the dropped text messages are caused by running the Global OTA on my T-Mobile HD 1907 phone? Or does canyon have any ideas what could be causing this problem?

Normally if it is a problem with the OS you don't get messages at all, not an intermittent loss.
Are the lost messages coming from people on the same or different networks? Can you swap sim cards with someone on another carrier and see if you or the other person has the issue?
If it is an OS issue you could try reinstalling as a local update.

I have confirmed it happens with people from verizon and t-mobile. The person who is helping me text is on verzion. I don't have someone to swap sim cards with, but this has problem has occurred while I was on Mint Mobile, Red Pocket GSMT and Red Pocket GSMA.
I also have a new point of evidence. The person on verzion sent me an sms and mms message. I missed it. They sent another set 3 minutes later, I missed them. I texted them a message. They then resent there sms and mms message after they received mine and I got their messages.
Therefore, it seems if I text them first, I have no trouble getting replies, but after an unspecified amount of time, I no longer get there messages.

I am not in the US and have been using my T-Mobile 7T for a couple of weeks and had a similar problem of not receiving text messages or MMS which I figured could be because of changing my rom to the global version.
I switched back over to the T-Mobile rom and went into the network settings and unlocked it after requesting T-Mobile from an option that's visible there. After doing that I went back to the global firmware and it's been a week. So far so good.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to flash back to the T-mobile ROM once I get the chance. Could you please clarify what exactly you mean by "unlocked it after requesting T-Mobile from an option that's visible there". Does "requesting T-mobile" mean you contacted T-mobile to unlock it?

T-Mobile GPRS settings

Hello all,
I upgraded to WM6 using one of the ROM's on this forum, but now I'm not able to use GPRS. I have a T-mobile MDA Compact III with a contract for 1 year.
I used a CAB for T-mobile GPRS settings, but this only changes the settings for Internet Explorer GPRS. All other applications that use GPRS, annot connect.
Is there anyone that can help me with this? I'm living in the Netherlands, so I guess Dutch T-mobile GPRS settings are needed?
Please help me, because I have a few apps that need GPRS to get info every 15 minutes or so.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
jvdheuvel.
GPRS T-Mobile
I will translated the instructions into Dutch:
Je kan de benodigde instellingen vinden op de website van T-mobile. De instelling zijn relatief eenvoudig door te voeren. De link hiervoor is:
http://www.t-mobile.nl/persoonlijk/.../internet_email/service/devices/compact3.aspx
Groet, Mischa
i don't know in netherland, but in austria we only need do enter the Access point name: gprsinternet and for mms gprsmms...
thats it....
for the netherlands the access point is internet
Yessss..... thanks! I had to set "Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using:" to "T-Mobile Internet as well.
So everything works again!

Thank you for quick response voetbalremco, i don't have this option in my phone i have : settings > Wireless and networks > Mobile networks > Use packet Data.
If i check Use packet Data my phone is automatically connected to 2G
Bell doesn't have a 2G GSM network, so it seems they removed the 2G only toggle.
You're not telling us what network you're trying to run it on...
Check the differences between the different Gio variants here.

You are right, i'm not using Bell network.
I'm from Tunisia, i'm using Orange TN network.
PS : i have just updated my phone with Enhanced236 Rom. (The 2G enabled mode is now available but the some probelm always 2G connection)
The above French sentence boils down to "you're screwed"...

[Q] Lumia 900 on Straight talk no cellular data after 7.8 update

So here is my issue, I have just updated my Nokia Lumia 900 (used on Straight Talk network). Before doing the update to 7.8 I had 4G data just fine. I have the network app installed and the apn configured correctly. However, since I have done the 7.8 update I have lost cellular data altogether. It's kind of weird though as I can still send text messages however I have no data indicator (4g, 3g, ect) on the top notification bar. Also I cannot browse through IE or send or recieve email. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I've also done many soft reset's since the update to try and regain data. Also turned on wireless and turned it back off to see if I regained the data connection and still no luck.
anyone?!?! HELP
anyone have any suggestions? has anyone else experienced this?
First, check your network settings - on your applications list, locate the "Network Setup" application and check if everything is defined properly, if not - you probably have to re-define your APN settings. Go to Settings > Cellular and scroll down to the "add apn" button.
On either case - If you need the settings for the "Network Setup" app or the APN, contact your cellular provider.
Btw, if you can't locate the "Network Setup" application, go get it from the Marketplace.
No data = no good

Well I do have the network setup app and it is configured correctly for straight talk. As for the cellular > "add apn" I read that is supposed to be left blank when using the network setup app. Is this incorrect?
Thanks for your reply btw, I'm dying without this data connection.
Well to tell you the truth, I don't know... I used the "add apn" once - since I live in a country which WP7.5 was not released in officially, so I had to manually configure some of my network settings by myself. But that was a long time ago, and I think it was prior to the release of the "Network setup" app...
Anyhows, I say give the "add apn" a try - what do you have to lose? In addition, it might be a good idea to contact your cellular provider and ask for support (maybe they blocked your data connection?), or visit their web-site and look for others who are experiencing the same problem as you...
Also, as just a precaution, make sure that in your Settings > Cellular menu you have the 'Data connection' turned on and 'Data roaming options' set to 'roam'. I bet you already did that, but you know - just a precaution

Yeah I did already do that, but thanks for your reply. I'm browsing straight talk forums now. Doesn't seem like anywhere else on the world wide web that anyone else is experiencing this issue....hmmm
Did you just try and re-run network setup? I have a Lumia 900 and I had to do that once I put my T-Mobile sim in it. Once it completed LTE was enabled and working on the device.

Depende de las operadoras, por ejemplo el de at&t si tiene pero el de las operadoras Europeas no.
It Depends on the carrier . For example the at&t 900 does have lte but the ones from european carriers don't.

Question Mi 11 lite 5g NE stuck on 3g.

Hi.
My new NE seems to be stuck on 3g (h+) signal. The same SIM card swapped into my Poco X3 Pro gets a 4g signal.
I've tried resetting Wlan Bluetooth and mobile but it makes no difference.
Out of interest this was bought in France and in using it here in the UK but that shouldn't make a difference?
Also my txt messages are not getting through but I can ring a phone number ok.
Can anyone help?
A reboot fixed it
