Best kernel / gaming rom note 9 pro curtana - Redmi Note 9 Pro (International Model) General and

hey guys am a newbie amd little dumb i just bought redmi note 9 pro(curtana) to play genshin impact (was tricked by youtube all videos shows the game playable but for me its laggy af i need ur help picking up the best rom and kernel or just kernel to game (am planning to overclock) checked the corvus rom thread it seems they cut it off and has lots of problems for curtana welp plz

I played a lot of high graphics games on my note 9s curtana and had no problem with stock rom, everything runs smooth. I will try the game you mentioned, but I don't expect lags. Also since you're a newbie as you said, I'd recommend sticking to stock rom and not mess up your device if you don't know what you're doing.

Ye sure why not, I recommend learning what's root, bootloader, fastboot, adb, custom recovery, custom rom etc.. then jump into guides to unlock your bootloader, gain root access, get familiar with that and learn how to make full backup of your rom. After that learn how to flash roms and custom kernels. Step by step, but don't jump into flashing roms and kernels, you may risk bricking your device when you know nothing about fixing it.

Should I, Shouldn't I - Custom Rom

Hey everyone,
I have bought myself a Galaxy S 2 which is brilliant and has taken over from my Desire as my main device, but this has led me to the question, is it worth rooting my Desire and playing with custom roms now I do not have to rely on it as my main device?
It is on Orange, android 2.2, and if I mess it up, I suppose I could just drop it in a pool of water and return it on insurance lol
Reason I ask is because all the rooting threads confuse the crap out of me, but I have always been interested in messing around and seeing just what this phone is capable of or just what could be done to speed it up or have it looking super cool with new user experience.
I suppose the main question is, can you customise the phone to the same level without rooting and custom roms, and is it really that much better when rooted?
Any opinions are very welcome.
Also, it is an SLCD, orange branded but network unlocked using the CD method I found on the forums. Is there anything I need to know about my phone, before I root, if I decide to root.
Anyway, thanks for any and all opinions or help on this.
Biffy.
Root and s-off if you want to be able to to anything.
After that you have to chose the rom ... The most difficult !
I currently use LeeDroiD 3.0.8.2 (GB + sense) in A2SD+ version. Fast, stable and enough features inside for me.
to me installing custom rom is more because of curiousity. I learned quite a lot because of this custom roms thingie, since i was too worried to try it and done a LOT of reading here and there. until now, lol
Thanks for the replies So do you guys think that the custom roms improve the phone? If not improve, is it fun again playing with the phone when you've installed a rom?
I'd love to install something with a new version of sense to see what it's like, as playing with the Desire HD in a shop, it seemed really good.
Anyway cheers for the replies I'm gonna read more about rooting..
Cheers.
I was also worried in the beginning but I read all the tutorials on forum and it is very easy to put custom ROM. Also I'm using 2.1+3.0 sense and it is very nice + ROM is fast and stable

Brilliant Thanks I'll take a look there as that sounds perfect
Biff.
Just done Unrevolked and phone is in ClockworkMod Recovery now, seems it is rooted lol.
I will leave it there and read more see what else I can do or what my next step is...
Ok, i'm getting excited now, as i've rooted and S-Off'd my phone now, and have gparted ready to sort out the SDCARD
This is where i'm stuck as I don't know which ROM to use, although I believe a gingersense (If I can convince myself I don't want to use camera?) or a HD Rom would be best for me to try.
I think the AOSP? Stock android roms are a little .. shall we say .. ugly, and the MIUI (iphoneish) ones are too iphoney.
So what do you guys reckon are the best gingersense or HD roms about?
Cheers for all the posts and suggestions, it's going well I think
Biff.
I'm using this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113070
it's fast and stable, cheers
Awesome, that one looks great i'll see if I can get it installed later.
Tried to install Cyanogenmod 7 CM1 through ROM manager, but I am getting what I believe is referred to in the trade as a boot loop lol
Will have a play to sort it out

Just a question on rooting + roms (sorry)

hey guys
Now i know you've probably heard this a million times and i do appologise but i'm not risking ANYTHING when it comes to rooting etc as ill only kick myself if i brick my device. So flame away if you feel like it but i'm simply being cautious.
I've looked through numerous guides on rooting and loading rom's but everyone is different so i just want to get it 100% right. Ill start with my phone and what i'm after when i root.
Phone: HTC One X (Tegra 3)
Unlocked on vodafone
android version 4.1.1
htc sense 4+
I'm after a rom which will get rid of most of the bloatware on my phone and give it good battery life in general but improved performance for games when needed. The best stable rom i've come to the conclusion for this is cyanogenmod 10. Is that alright for what i need?
I'd like to tweak the cpu and gpu abit to help games like nova 3 play decently, i heard the main issue is something to do with the cpu govenor? Whats the best way around this?
Bascially i'd like advice on the most simplest way of rooting my phone and then installing cyanogen mod. Do i need kernels or anything else?
Many thanks for your patience :good:
If you go to an AOSP based ROM, like CM, your GPS won't work and your battery is likely to be less good than on JB Sense ROM.
When HTC release the kernel source for JB, this situation will change.
You willl need a kernel that is non standard because you're on hboot 1.36. If I remember correctly, post 9308 of one of the CM ROMs is useful.
Thanks for the reply!
In that case i'd rather keep GPS ability as i use the sat nav alot. Could i use franco's kernel on the stock rom on my phone and just use that? That'll give me the options to tweak i need without changing roms.
No faux kernel won't work on a JB rom, there are no custom kernels yet for JB ! The custom kernels that are available only work on the older ICS roms.
Custom kernels will be available when HTC releases the source code
You can flash an older ICS rom with custom kernel that's no problem. But then you have no JB
Ahhh this is all making sense now
Fair enough, ill leave it all stock until they release the source code. I have to say, this is pretty damn confusing and i'm no amateur when it comes to tech and flashing hardware
Just want my One x to play games smoothly. Pretty pants on nearly everything i've tried so far (shadow gun MP, GTA 3, Nova 3, Battle bears)

Finding a ROM

Hi guys, it's my first post here, so sorry if I will wrong the section.
So, I have a lot of problems with my Note II: slowdowns, "the process has been stopped", etc.. :crying:
I would like a rom stable!! The most important thing is stability, fewer bugs possible, and with the Note features...
Who help me?

Do you wish a stock rom , A custom rom ?? .
If you took the first option then i'd recommend KitKat with Nadia custom kernel , i've used it , it's good .
If the second choice is your preference then first i'd suggest you read about how these things work and how they are installed , the custom recovery . etcetera ,before taking any step through the process
Then and this is an important approach : Focus on the model of your phone and be careful , flashing the wrong ROM might mess with the soft of your device , and you won't like it trust me .
and good luck
Any cyanogenmod ROM should be fine.

...he wants the Note features, including spen! No way to have this features in an acceptable way on any kind of rom except those one TW based. So he can decide to stay on pure stock, maybe rooted, debloated and xposed or on some Note 3, 4 etc port - or simple reinstall his updated stock rom if he doesn't want to mess around.
If you bought a Note I suppose it is for the S Pen (on my N3 I coutend 3000 charging and 2600 spen in/out), otherwise any S series would be fine, and speed and rock solid CM would be a good choice - obviously if you don't use the pen a Note is a S...
Hi guys, sorry for the delay but I'm very busy with the university and I'am also sick in this period!

yes. First step is root your phone and install a custom recovery (philz or twrp) with odin.
eclipse is better custom rom .

best rom zenfone2 ?!

heey all...what the best rom for zenfone In your opinion ?!?!
Really depends on what you are looking for.
Depends on what you want in term of features & how far you are willing to risk ( You may brick your phone).
All custom ROMS carry the risk of bricking your phone, Random Reboots & bootloops are common (Will have to troubleshoot from time to time), plus your warranty is void after unlocking your bootloader.
If you have previous experience with custom ROMS on android, Go for It.
I myself use Resurrection Remix M with Xposed 83. Its an allover good ROM with lots of customisation options, plus XPOSED adds to this.
Hi,
for me, this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/stock-t3360150 works best with this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/ze551ml-kernel-flarex-t3366039
I couldn't find any issue, lag, or battery draining, really perfekt!

Is my phone worth rooting?

I have a D855 v30n - and I have a few questions.
1. Is this device worth rooting?
2. If so what is the best way of rooting this device?
2. Is it worth flashing a custom rom onto this device?
3. If so, which custom rom works the best on this device?
Any help is appreciated - Thanks in advance.
In my opinion it is worth rooting assuming you will install a custom rom so this answers two questions.
Now as for the rom it is a matter of taste but i find fulmics rom 6.7 to be working perfect with zero bugs. It improves the overall speed and user interface also addessing some overheating issues.
The other choices are cm/ aosp based roms that alters ur phone completelly, losing some functionality and gain some other.
After a cycle of trying many roms stock based or aosp i prefer stock based but u have to make ur own opinion on that.
As for the method i wont answer as i dont remember the steps, its not hard but if you are not familiar with the concept of rooting then think carefully before you proceed and do alot of research.

Thanks for responding, I have already previously rooted an LG G3 D855 but it was running on an older firmware and was stuck on android lollipop. I was running cloudy g3 on that one and it worked fine for a few months and then out of nowhere the device was completely bricked (this is why I'm asking if it's worth flashing a cutom ROM again)
